My people my people, how una dey?

I want to invite my mother-in-law via visit visa and I need some clarification.

1. Can I be the invitee instead of my spouse?
2. If yes, does she (mother-in-law) need to show evidence of finance (statement of account) or I can use mine to support her application? Also let me know the amount value
3. If no, does my spouse need to be working to make a successful application for her mum?

I am mostly worried about who to be the invitee and financial status.

Thanks

We just sent an invite letter jointly that is my wife and I both signed and got it notorized.
The daughter in nigeria sponsored her so she showed her own bank details.

I think to sponsor you should have filed taxes, not sure but you may want to find out from the cic website cos there is a checklist of documents needed based on your own situation.

When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

And some others: I was worried about how I would tell my parents, especially my mum about my approval. My younger brother left the country first, then my older brother (she was greatly affected by that one), now her only remaining child here (plus only daughter kwa), me. I know she wants the best for us but would prefer us being in proximity to them. So, I called my mum yesterday and told her;
Mum: (shouting for joy) ehen remember you promised to take me out when you get approval. I want to go to Jevinik. grin
Me: Jisos! shocked mummy I thought you’d be sad. (disappointed but relieved)
Mum: I’m sad you’ll be leaving but I know better now. This country holds no hope for you, look at how long you’ve been out of job. Go and find something new, just do my visa for me.

I am currently filling visa applications for them

Tell your mum desert is on me.

Congratulations

I was waiting for someone else to say this. Its fascinating to see how religious most people on this thread are. If religion was indeed the solution to our problems, why don't we all stay back and pray for Nigeria? Why run to a country that practically has a majority agnostic population with no religious belief whatsoever?

That doesn't mean they do not respect other peoples religious beliefs. Speaking about Canadians.

@Newmum0615 when are you looking to land?

It also has a community of Nigerias though. So you wont feel too lonely if thats your thing and you meet the right people

The town is feeding off people moving away from Toronoto due to high house prices which in turn has raised rent. Its closest to Mississauga and Oakville.

It has a feeling of being a small town with a bigger town being superimposed over it.

I have been here not up to a year but the number of new houses and apartment buildings opening up is amazing.

In terms of jobs i would score it low. A few manufacturing companies and the type of jobs that go with that.

Lots of parks close to where I stay for the kids anyway.

Has a GO station with buses and train that goes into Toronto and back.

However its internal bus system is the wackest I have seen. I just cant explain it. Uber suffered me.

Its also about 40mins to an hr drive to the Kitcherner axis.

As for attractions I am not the outgoing type so dont know if there is any to be honest.

Hello all,
. Or better still contact HR... Its not funny watching both your PR and your Job hanging

What if your supervisor by virtue of his position in the company is entitled to use the company letter head eg to vendors?

Just asking.

Although I got mine on a plain paper.

I have shared this before. I would share again.
In wintery road driving and conditions, a car with headlights on is easier to spot than one with no headlights.

Thanks for the tips
Travel / Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by philip3(m): 4:26pm On Nov 28, 2018
I had my first experience driving in a snow storm about 2 weeks ago when there was a snow warning issued for the GTA.
It was a horrible experience. Your brakes might as well not be on the car. Braking became a skill to stop at an intersection. Plus i followed waze app to divert me from traffic on the highway and ended up taking back roads which was a bad idea. Lesson learnt. Always stay on the high way because the snow gets cleared faster and atleast you have the company of other cars in case of emergencies.
Also whats the deal with using full beam headlights during snowny weather? Firstly visibility is poor but going on full beam causes some kind of optical illusion, the falling snow just gets brighter and doesnt add to visibility distance.

Can people share personal experience and safety tips considering winter hasn't officially started.

Other than winter tires which offers some grip during wintery conditions, what else can one do just to be safe.

That drive made me miss driving Benin-Warri road.

I was a bike passenger on my way to work one morning many years ago. A lady jogging with dark clothes and headphones on crossed the road without looking. She came out of no where. We both had our heads slammed on the ground. She passed out. People came to her aid while I went to the hosipital.

How can you wear dark clothes jogging with headphones in a poorly lit street.

I hope she was ok tho.

To be honest its very broad here and there are always a variety of supply chain roles available with logistics, manufacturing and retail organisations.

I don't think it should be difficult to get into depending on which level is convenient for you.

There are always vacancies on indeed.ca. Just search with different variations of your job title.

When you come try attending any of these bridging programs depending on proximity and schedule

http://accesemployment.ca/supply-chain-connections

http://newtocanada.humber.ca/bridging-programs/scape.html

Also start looking to registering with APICS which should help you get ahead once you get that first job

Is the person not in the same field with you? Is the person an immigrant who understands our challenges? Is the person too busy to have your time? You have the option of changing your mentor but if i were you, i will try within all positive means to connect with him, i wouldn't give up on him. An immigrant might give you the connections you need to land a job though that's not part of the program. His role is to prepare you for Canadian job market. I had a full blown Canadian as my mentor and didn't have a cause to regret the program though.

Same field. Came to Canada when he was very young so more or less full blown Canadian. Clearly didnt understand our challenges. He wasn't aware of professional bodies and how to join. Sends more of motivational emails. What I needed from him was more of an understanding of Canadain work place culture tho.

Anyway I used linkedin to establish contact with 2 other Nigerians in my field and so far their impact has been awesome.

Just wanted to see if I could get more out of the guy. Plus he told me blank he more or less just stumbled on supply chain (my profession) as a career path.

I went for medicals today, and I was told that my blood pressure is too high (150/100), and as result, the doctor did not continue the medical examination.

Please, I am worried and am on my way to see my doctor... I don't know why my BP is high.. Can I be disqualified for that reason?

You have already recieved fantastic advise.

I am hypertensive and on the day of my medical my bp was high told doctor the drugs i was taking, she ordered extra test for a fee (dont remember how much) and was told if there was any issue i would get a call in 24 hrs. No one called however.

I called back to confirm test result and was told all was fine.

Got my medicals passed after 2 weeks of submission.

Key to hypertension is lifestyle change so find out it you are or na canada ppr mail dey give you high bp.
