All these railway revamp would have made any sense if this man battled or seen to be battling corruption. Who doesn't know these will ground just a year after Jonathan leaves government if corruption is still our breakfast, lunch and dinner? The same forces that ran the previous ones aground are still very much around and have even been emboldened by his government. This is just like building a fine house in a quicksand by the ocean.. |

Gbawe2: My good man, you cannot blame the likes of this entertainer cum hustler. Folks like her have never been exposed to civilised society and are only aware of the 'Nigerian way' which is always about a small group of people accumulating massive wealth at the expense of the majority. In most nations of the world, you do not become rich automatically because you are a General in the Army or a former head of State. Those positions requires exemplary focus and dedication to duty which tends to rule out any chance of opportunist wealth acquisition for dedicated leaders.
The belief of lofty office = stupendous wealth only holds true in Nigeria because our nation is a morally warped geographical space where many abuse influential positions to make themselves hideously rich to the detriment of the populace. This is why Nigeria is a mess today to the extent something as fundamental as electricity, taken for granted in most nations of the world, remains a luxury in Nigeria today.
It beggars belief that some Nigerians can claim Buhari did wrong for not abusing his lofty office in the army and in governance to emerge stupendously rich as other like IBB, OBJ, Danjuma et al managed. Buhari did the right thing at every stage and as a principled man devoted to duty and service above materialism. The man is consumed with delivering a better Nigeria. He has never told anyone he is a business guru , like Dangote,or an oil bloc profiteer like Danjuma et al.
In many Countries of the world you will find outstanding professionals and men/women of integrity who contributed immensely to the advancement of humanity and are happy to live on a pension in their latter years. Money never meant anything to those people. Buhari is in that category. His proven ability and commitment to fighting for a Nigeria that works for ordinary Nigerians, and not the private jet Oligarchs, is what has endeared him to sensible Nigerians currently. I just summed it up for them up there. These guys were unfortunately born at a time where integrity is sin and a scorn whilst corruption is the norm and a commendable feat. It is entirely not their fault and only a responsible government can bring a rebirth to this morally jaundiced and raped generation. |

Collynzo22: How many ordinary Nigerians earning far less than a million monthly borrowed money to build their houses? We are talking about a man who has been earning mega money since he was 30 and is still preaching to us that he is poor at 72. Since the only way to make money for you is to steal and engage in corrupt practises, I hope you don't steal and remain poor in life. Very useless mentality. HugeMac: Don't You see you are foolish , Must you embezzle to be productive as a human being , did dangote become president , since 1985 buhari could not upgrade his education , he just sat doing nothing , its a real pity , You shouldn't defend laziness just because of political or tribal sentiments . Did Buhari tell you he is poor? Does borrowing money to finance immediate projects amount to being poor? Is Dangote poor? Don't he borrow money? And who told you we all must own investments or it's only investors who make good managers of human and material resources? Did Buhari fail in any of the responsibilities of state he was saddled with? When you guys don't have anything on this man you look for useless straws to hold unto. The fact remain that you guys are birthed at a period when corruption has been seen as a norm and integrity as being foolish. |

Collynzo22: Actually you are the one who has a very dangerous mentality, anyone who believes that he has to steal or embezzle public funds to be wealthy is very dangerous. You are a danger to whatever organisation you work for. How much was Buhari's monthly salary as a general? How much was he earning as a governor? How much did he earn monthly as head of state? How much was he paid as PTF chairman? How much is he earning monthly as pension? Answer those questions and tell me why Buhari has to borrow to build a house or buy a form. Borrowing money to build a house as a worker is same as taking mortgage to build. There's nothing wrong in doing this. Your main problem now is Buhari could not gather bulk money to build a house and I maintain your corruption skewed brain is affecting your ability to decipher the situations surrounding the whole scenario.
You are the perfect reference of the inclusion of MORAL DECADENCE in the dictionary of English language. |

Collynzo22: My friend be sorry for yourself and your completely warped mentality. Who says he needs to embezzle public funds to be wealthy? If he is contented with what he has, why is he borrowing money to build houses and pick a nomination form? Buhari has earned millions as general, north east governor, head of state, PTF chairman and he is still earning millions in pensions every year, yet no tangible investment to show for it. It is either he is a liar or a very very poor manager of resources. @ philips70 this response is also for your illiterate self. You are just lucky this is an anonymous forum. Your comments on this thread should earn you an immediate sack from wherever you work or if you do business it is enough to put a smack on your relationship with your partners or clients. I maintain you are so used to embezzlements that you believe everyone who took all those roles you just mentioned should be entitled to some cool millions of Nairas in his accounts. Your mentality is so that of Yahoo Yahoo young man. Who knows your parent could just be one of the leaders who continue to dip their hands into Nigeria's coffers and live larger than life ostentatious lifestyle. Once again your mentality brought us here and sorry Buhari refused to lead such a life and that doesn't in any way impact his managerial abilities. |
Politics › Re: Shan George Blasts Buhari For Claiming To Be Poor by philips70(m): 2:36pm On Dec 24, 2014 |
Collynzo22: It is not a good thing, because a man who cannot manage his resources nor invest properly, cannot manage that of a vast nation like Nigeria. He borrowed money to buy his nomination form, he took a loan to build his houses. Buhari will sink Nigeria into huge debts if he is given the chance. I do not blame you and Shan George. Your mentality is so used to leaders who steal public funds to add to whatever pay they get from their salaries. Go to Europe and see past senior public administrators who still live in rented apartments on mortgage and take public transportation. With your mentality Nigeria will never attain it's millenium development goals. In your generation it's a crime not to enrich oneself from public coffers yet we say the youth should be allowed to take power from the older generation. It's a shame and you are a disgrace to the few right thinking youth of this country. |

Ikengawo: Nobody Idolizes anyone. The difference between GEJ supporters and Buhari supporters are admit it or not GEJ supporters are more realistic. None of them are pretending to be in love with him and we know his limitations. We also appreciate the fact that he puts his limitations on the table and leaves more competent people to handle what he can't even if they're his enemies (Sanusi for example). I would rather that type of person be my president than someone that's talking about bloodshed and violence all the time. [b]The problem here is the GEJ supporters and being realistic. I have had cause severally to challenge your type to give me empirical evidence of Buhari making these blood speeches none have been able to do so. And when I say evidence I don't mean reporters reports but referring to direct quotes. We all know a lie repeated too often always get coloration of truth gradually attaching to it. 99% of you guys who use these quotes to disparage Buhari never even read them from credible sources but just from fellow GEJ supporters and also from staunch PDP apologists like Okupe and Metuh. You expect such garbage and unsubstantiated claims to convince sound minds who know their onions and can tell their right from left? Answer is no. If you follow social media very well you will notice Nigerians are beginning to see the holes in these lies against Buhari as being perpetuated by persons who want to protect their loot and keep Nigerians in a perpetual state of want so they could be used any time for their pecuniary political gains. Subsequently, there is a revolution going on at the moment and come Feb 2015 these latter day young Nigerian converts who have seen the truth will see to the evacuation of these hegemonists from the seats of power.
