Politics › Katsina PDP Senator Disassociates Self From Jonathan Campaign Organization by philips70(op): 12:05am On Jan 12, 2015 |
Uncle Jona is in trouble. This is what you get when your word refuses to be your bond. You can't just eat your cake and have it.Senator Ida Dissociates Self From Jonathan’s Campaign A stalwart of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Katsina State, Senator Ibrahim Muhammad Ida has dissociated himself from the re-election bid of president Jonathan. It would be recalled that Senator Ida, who represented Katsina central in the last senate, was named among the president’s campaign team. But speaking to newmen, Senator Ida said he was not in any way part of the president Jonathan’s campaign team as published in some national dailies. Senator Ida, who spoke through his senior special assistant, Alhaji Auwalu Buba, said he had been in Saudi Arabia since the past seven days before the publication linking him with Jonathan’s campaign. He denied any association with the campaign team, stating that no contact emanated between him and the presidency regarding the campaign. The senator described the action as another way of jeopardising his political future by some retrogressive elements, even as he said it was as defamatory. He, however, urged his supporters to disregard the publication linking him with Jonathan’s campaign team. http://leadership.ng/news/401169/senator-ida-dissociates-self-jonathans-campaign |

Weselion: please brother, enlighten me. The electoral law book is beyond my reach, does it state that someone without formal education can become president? Now for your sake...Qualification for Election 2. A person shall be qualified for election to the office of President or the National Assembly if:- (a) he is a citizen of Nigeria; (b) in the case of President, he has attained the age of 40 years; (c) in the case of Senator, he has attained the age of 35 years; (d) in the case of Member of House of Representatives, he has attained the age of 30 years; (e) he has been educated up to at least the School Certificate level or its equivalent; and (f) he is a Member of a Political Party and is being sponsored by that party. Now you write a letter to your English teacher to explain what section 2e means and how it relates to General Buhari. The so called educated people saying Buhari is not educated are way duller than him for not recognizing this is a non-issue. But the Buhari campaign team have allowed them to engage themselves foolishly with it till Feb 14th. At least it is toning down age and religious fanatic issues. Talk about bushmeat catching the hunter. |

gratieao: Do u expect Buhari to contest election without constitutional minimal requirement? So we must bend our constitution to accommodate the illiterate general. To rule Nigeria is not by force, if Buhari does not have the requirements let him try Duara cattle rearers association president Don't follow crowd mentality. Pick up your electoral laws and read it without putting on Okupe's cap. If you understand it you won't follow them ask for Buhari's certificate anymore. Many of your fellows on this forum did same and have moved past the madness. |

Now am convinced. PDP is filled with dullard certificate holders, GEJ being their kingpin. On a second glance it's confirmed the PDP is 100% sure their defeat in the elections is as sure as the Pope being a Christian hence they are looking for all means possible to disqualify Buhari. These are the same people who said they are happy Buhari won the primaries as he is a walk over for them. Just a week of campaigns they are scared stiff. ucheeee: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/father-mbaka-saga-ill-close-adoration-ground-if-cardinal-olubunmi-okogie/ Politicians are taking their campaigns to churches. Is it a healthy development? It is not! They should keep religion out of politics. Don’t forget each person has his or her own mind. During harvest, you have the priest and the assistant priest and you go out to invite another priest to preach, that will affect what I am going give, because I have already made up my mind on what I am going to give. They come to church to canvas for votes.
It should not be allowed by anybody. I don’t really know what to do because this election, hmm hmm hmm, I am afraid. Imagine their utterances! Look at what Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) said about Shariah in 2011, that is what they are harping on now in 2015. Why? When did you hear about Shariah last? This kind of thing is annoying. Look at the recent campaign launch that produced over N21 billion. Where did they get the money from when people are hungry? No water. No electricity. No roads. I just wonder what kind of government we have in this country. These are all corrupt persons and they will want me to cast their vote for them. What is the difference between Mbaka's rants and this response by Rev Okogie? Is it because Mbaka said his in serious anger? |

....in another news about 5000 Phd holders have volunteered to return their certificates to the awarding schools until Jonathan's Phd certificate is withdrawn from him. They say they cannot stand the embarrassment he is bringing to them anymore. A reliable source who also manufactured Jonathan's campaign speech that he made Nigeria's economy the largest in Africa confirmed this news early this morning. Details coming shortly.. |

After all is said and done and putting emotions aside, Dele Momodu is a private citizen, albeit a famous one, who is allowed to support GMB or anyone else passionately. Momodu, as far as I know , is not linked with the Buhari campaign in any formal way.
Momodu has banned you from following him for his own reason. He has the right to do this because you willingly decided to follow another private individual without coercion. You must accept that you exist in their space on their own terms not yours. Deal with this development by simply staying away from Momodu also. Momodu, right now and in his private citizen capacity, owes you no explanation. It is not by force to follow famous folks Op is not serious. I follow Dele Momodu on Twitter and also an ardent supporter of Buhari on my tweets. Have never gone against Dele's tweets yet he blocked me a while back. I did not run anywhere to complain but just moved on until recently when I discovered I have been unblocked. Op, please explain to me what happened here. |

easy4beno: Well..In as much as I want to say quite a lot, I will try to make it short as possible as I can. I watched the presidential flag off yesterday and saw the president spoke. I must say from the few lines I can remember, they were very poor and lacked articulation from a president on campaign as I still did not see that campaign emphasis like this is what we have done, this is where we are and this is where we are going in his speech, it is not about attacking the opposing political party, well maybe some of our politicians are either not educated enough or they just lack how-to-campaign-education.
In his words "I know Nigeria does not belong to old men like us, because I know we have failed already". What the president is trying to let us know is that he has spent 6years in office and he has failed us, so giving him another 4years MAY BE an opportunity to make it right. The question is, why will I give an opportunity to a self proclaimed failure who has perceived himself as a failure to rule me for another 4years, definitely if after 4years, the situation is still status quo or gone worse, I should not ask him why and can't hold him responsible if he fails because from the on-set he said he was a failure and didn't give any clue or hope of how to even succeed or improve on the present situation.
"I apologise to the workers who were not paid december salaries, what happened is that some govt ministries' officials tried to act corrupt by adding up some funds to the regular salaries but in the process due to how scientific the IP system(which automatically pays salaries) works, it brought up a red light and shut down, so now we are deviating to another new system in order to avoid these corrupt people so they will not steal your money". Now he gave credit to himself because deep down he felt like he had curbed that corrupt practice from that end. In my own take, I think its obvious our president runs away from tackling and facing some problems squarely, if the system had made this attempt, why not trace these govt officials, investigate the incidence and actions, and bring some culprits to book, that sends a strong msg to the whole country that you are fighting corruption. In an ideal situation and country, its very simple, if you are corrupt and caught, you will go to jail, automatically your subordinates will not make such attempt in future..it will send a strong message to the whole nation and that oga no take nonsense..and to a large extent pple would have a self consciousness in their minds that if I steal na jail, trust me it will go a long way in changing peoples' minds.
That's just the few two points I would like to discuss, there are still some I remember vividly but I do not want to bore the readers, let's say thats it for now. From my analysis of the speech again, it was quite unlike GEJ, he spoke out of anger, out of reaction and out of emotion and I think a little desperation in his countenance, it may not be enough to just read manuscripts online, because some times a writer has a perception, so I can advise that before giving an analysis or passing judgment or nailing Buhari or Jonathan, kindly go online and watch the video, it is just about 30mins - 40mins, carefully observe and pass your comments. I hope we will choose our leaders rightly by not being sentimental, its not by age, or by ethnicity, or by education level if I may say..it is by having a well articulated ideas/solutions and clearly cut out vision. I hope we can get it right his time around. God bless! Did you notice where the president echoed his military aide when he said 300 years in helping him to complete a speech? I saw in that spot why they call this man kindergarten president. No wonder he listened to beer parlor gists the girls were not kidnapped.until kid Malala slapped senses into him. Nigeria has now been confirmed the Lilliput of Africa under Jonathan. Anybody who took Jonathan serious after his show yesterday needs a neurologist. |

I listened to the oba myself and he never said anything in favour of Jonathan. Instead his anger was still against OBJ who withheld Lagos money from Tinubu and also extolled Fashola. He categorically said Fashola's progress in Lagos is in geometrical progression. He said may the best man win between Jonathan and Buhari. ayukdaboss: Barca how did we get here as a country? I dont believe some people here are commending Jonathan on today's act of shame.
Jonathan never stated anything he wants to do for Nigerians, spent hours campaigning against Buhari and blaming him for all his shortcomings. Look at the comment from Akpabio!!!! It's a shame. President Jonathan did not campaign against Buhari this afternoon instead he campaigned vigorously for him. If you know how many people made up their minds today against this man after listening to his speech in TBS you will know it is over for him. Just these points alone... 1. A president echoing TAN that he made Nigeria's rebased economy that was last calculated in 1990 the biggest in Africa is the biggest fraud of the century. Okonjo explained it all to Nigerians during the exercise. Even Ajudua was never this fraudulent or perhaps this might just be his thinking as clueless as he is. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/70b594fe-bd94-11e3-a5ba-00144feabdc0.html2. Only a president Jonathan will come to the public to lay allegations on an attempt on his life some 5 years ago and lie that was the reason somebody is in prison in South Africa. Nigerians cannot forget in a hurry the events that led to the arrest and sentence of Okah and the roles Jonathan played immediately after the bombs went off. No where in the case and judgments Jonathan's life was mentioned. It only said Okah detonated the bombs to embarrass him. http://www.punchng.com/news/terrorism-henry-okah-jailed-for-24-years/ 3. That he procured more weapons in his time than his opponent during his 18 months rule. Also that Buhari and others did not procure even a RIFLE during their time. It is on record Buhari procured far more weapons even without this much insurgence than Jonathan's 6 year rule where he as C-in-C has almost lost a full country to insurgents. Get your facts yourself from the link below on arms imported into this country from 1980 till date and see how petty and airy brained your president is. http://armstrade.sipri.org/armstrade/page/values.phpJonathan should be Okah's mate in South Africa come May 29th. |
