DesChyko:I have used some of the best airports around the world and also have used some of the worst too. Now the worst airports in Europe are better than the best in Nigeria like our gateway airport. Our mentality is befuddled with he-dey-try syndrome and if we stay that way and refused to pursue excellence we will continue to run round circles. Do I strike a chord? |
sufido123:And who told you it's all Igbos that are foolish? |
Gejfreesupport:You think you will fool Nairalanders with your moniker? No, people here are well informed of happenings. By their sermon we shall know them. |
datribune:Intelligence is not sold in a drug store. Ride on! Speech is apt. Nairaland keeps attracting them. Change is here! |
Ikengawo:You guys like straws too much. Focus on reality and personal precedents of the contestants. One, Buhari gave critical roles to his deputy when he was head of state and that made most of you claim the deputy was the one who ran the government. Two, OBJ just of late gave critical roles to Atiku and he did his job diligently. If your master made his own deputy redundant you don't have to rub it in into another pair that have a clear cut vision of how leadership and shared responsibility should be. The constitution does not say it is illegal for the VP to perform some roles. It says their roles are defined by what the president wants him to do. Buhari was asked this question and he said people should look into his antecedents to find the answer. That you just read a very brilliant and promising responses from the VP candidate of a party you loathe should not put you in a panic mode of bringing in irrelevant issues. There's nothing wrong if you accept you are impressed as many people are with the above but will choose to turn logic on it's head. At the end of the day Nigerians are getting wiser and they can see clearly now. Thank you. |
robinsoncrosoe:Mbaka is one of the numerous men of God GEJ and the wife have been junketing their altars seeking for powers to perpetuate themselves in office. She went to him last Nov to do some pigeon throwing rituals which was said not to be in their favour. |
neocortex:Where you born when Buhari ruled? The man that truncated your democracy is the same man your god went to take blessings from some days back. Mind you ask your god to put him in jail first? |
robinsoncrosoe:All the sins that took you a lifetime to commit takes only a prayer to forgive. There's nothing wrong if one realizes he's on the wrong path and retraces his steps. You have no point. PDP is evil. Ask Fr Mbaka. |
berem:You guys should be your brothers keepers. There was a pro APC comment that garnered more than 400 likes as at my last count yesterday. That thread has caused serious queries to some fellow Nairalanders. They are at the verge of loosing their day job. Let the mods compensate them in the spirit of the new year. There are no jobs in the country. Hope Pendy understands. |
Ambrogio:There won't be politics section anymore as all members and most mods are guilty of one rule or the other. The devil is jealous of how false information, hatred and bile flows freely in that section. |
Buhari joined the Nigerian Army in 1962, when he attended the Nigerian Military Training College (in 1964 it was renamed the Nigerian Defence Academy, (NDA)) in Kaduna. From 1962-1963, he underwent Officer Cadets training at Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot in England, United Kingdom (Mons OCS was officially closed down in 1972). In January 1963, Buhari was commissioned as second lieutenant, and appointed Platoon Commander of the Second Infantry Battalion in Abeokuta, Nigeria. From November 1963- January 1964, Buhari attended the Platoon Commanders’ Course at the Nigerian Military College, Kaduna. In 1964, he facilitated his military training by attending the Mechanical Transport Officer’s Course at the Army Mechanical Transport School in Borden, United Kingdom. From 1965-1967, Buhari served as Commander of the Second Infantry Battalion. He was appointed Brigade Major, Second Sector, First Infantry Division, April 1967 to July 1967. Buhari was made Brigade Major of the Third Infantry Brigade, July 1967 to October 1968 and Brigade Major/Commandant, Thirty-first Infantry Brigade, 1970-1971. Buhari served as the Assistant Adjutant-General, First Infantry Division Headquarters, 1971-1972. He also attended the Defense Services’ Staff College, Wellington, India, in 1973. From 1974-1975 Buhari was appointed Acting Director, Transport and Supply, Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport Headquarters. He was also made Military Secretary, Army Headquarters,1978-1979, and was a member of the Supreme Military Council, 1978-1979. From 1979 -1980, at the rank of colonel, Buhari attended the US Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States of America and gained a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies. Other roles include: General Officer Commanding, 4th Infantry Division, Aug. 1980 – Jan. 1981 General Officer Commanding, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Division, Jan. 1981 – October 1981 General Officer Commanding, 3rd Armed Division Nigerian Army, October 1981 – December 1983. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammadu_Buhari Does the law says one must acquire a FSLC or a minimum of FSLC? Am not to judge if he has a FSLC or not but by the law his subsequent academic qualifications makes that one irrelevant. So why the fuss or is this fuss only on social media? |
stinggy:This is Nigeria. Anything done by a ruling party supporter goes unchecked. There are several of similar cases that are lying low. If you go through Reno's Twitter timeline since Wendell's case broke out till today nothing was written from him about it. Not with all the furore about it and how it went viral. That is typically unlike Reno. Even pastor Fatoyinbo of the Ese's saga attempted to mutter some words before he went AWOL. But like I said earlier he's government man so he does no wrong. |
If the elections were to be contested on Nairaland GEJ would have been on his way to Otuoke by now. That comment that gathered more than 400 likes on the first page must be causing some headaches in some people. Anonimi and the rest I hope they don't review your salaries for 2015 with this thread. You guys need to go dig up more dirt on Buhari to keep your jobs o. You have the hardest job on earth- defending Jonathan. |
anonimi:Your types are the prime target of this post. We know you. Demons tremble at your lies. But you lack intelligent to back them up with facts. Even your masters in the game had to beg not to go to jail. So you try harder cos the game is over. |

1. Buhari promised to make the country ungovernable for Jonathan. Facts: In 2010, as reported by various sections of the media, Lawal Keita, a PDP chieftain stated that if a person from the North did not win the 2011 elections, Nigeria will be made ungovernable . Below are links to that effect as reported by the press when that statement was made. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2010/10/08/group-wants-kaita-tried-for-treason/ In April 2011, Reuben Abati slandered Buhari in The Guardian about same statements of making Nigeria ungovernable. Buhari sued Abati to court in 2011 for damaging his name. President Jonathan begged Buhari on behalf of Abati to settle out of court cos Abati might end up in jail. On 11 July 2012 Rueben Abati and The Guardian published an unreserved apology to Buhari. http://newsrescue.com/rueben-abati-retracts-libelous-invention-linking-buhari-terror-compensates-general-damages/ 2. Buhari said Muslims should vote only Muslims Facts: In June 2001, Sheikh Sidi Attahiru Ibrahim launched his book at a Dan Fodio University event. General Muhammadu Buhari was invited to chair the event, where he spoke ex-tempore. Later that month, Buhari granted an interview to Rev, Fr. Matthew Hassan Kukah (present day Catholic Bishop of Sokoto) confirming what he said at the book launch. Here is the relevant portion of Kukah’s report on what Buhari said during their June 23, 2001 conversation (which was published in the Weekly Trust edition of July 6-12, 2001) “During the course of my comments, I drew attention to the fact that the introduction of Sharia had become one of the main issues in this new dispensation. I explained that Sharia, however, has been with us well before the British colonized Nigeria. Now, Sharia has been introduced in many Northern states and Sokoto is one of the states that has already adopted Sharia. It must be pointed out however that Sharia is applicable only to Muslims. Those elements that have taken the law into their hands and use the opportunity to molest other non-Muslims are not helping the cause. What is amore, they are like bad policemen or judges who are making the enforcement of justice so difficult in Nigeria. Their shortcoming does not do the police force or the judiciary any good, but these acts do not detract from the imperative of both institutions. Midway through our democracy, we have time now to assess the situation on ground in terms of making our choice in the next elections. Vote for good men whether they are in Borno, Katsina, Sokoto or wherever. Vote for those who will protect your interest. This, Rev. Father, is the summary of every thing I said and the tapes are there.” (1) Nothing controversial in any portion of that statement, I’d say? The controversy began when Ahmed Oyerinde, a long time Sokoto correspondent for ThisDay and other Newspapers, (who was not at the venue of the book launch when Buhari spoke) made up the false quote and reported this as fact in ThisDay. In the aftermath of his report, the tape of the event was played and no such statement was found there. Oyerinde later confessed to his Editors that he was not at the event and did not hear Buhari say any such thing. I was told that ThisDay later published a retraction of the report. (2) For the record, Oyerinde, sadly now late, had been the subject of a disciplinary investigation by Nigerian Press watchdogs for allegations of taking money to write false and mischievous stories. The allegations were confirmed and he was reprimanded. One of these investigations dates back to 1990. (3) Yet, despite Buhari’s many denials, and the defence of neutral observers like Fr. Kukah & Garba Shehu the peddlers of this lie keep repeating them maliciously. REFERENCES: 1. Kukah, Matthew Hassan, Weekly Trust Newspaper, Abuja, July 6-12, 2001 2. Private conversation with a Senior ThisDay editor with close knowledge of the 2001 incident on Dec. 30, 2014 3. Shehu, Garba, Premium Times, http://www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/106982-not-accepting-to-negotiate-with-boko-haram-could-hurt-buhari-by-garba-shehu.html Propagandists will never stop but as Buhari himself aptly put it... “Those who don’t want the progress of our people have spent fortunes over the years to raise silly propaganda about me. I have been around for some years and have challenged them to bring out one person I ever discriminated against based on faith but they are yet to take up the challenge. They should continue to tell lies about me just as I will I will continue to tell the truth about them.” |
barcanista: I actually saw potable water availability from previous 50% to 70%. In which country for God's sake? Why are this man's aides this wicked to him? Or was he referring to sachet and bottled water or the bore hole we drill ourselves? |
intergral:He wants to do the needful. |
anonimi:Why are you this daft? Did you bother to click on the names of each ranked person on that page to see their expanded profile? Did you see this at all? If you wanna be clever don't try it by half. There are many intelligent people on this forum in the midst of daft ones like you.

OrlandoOwoh:I swear on my father's grave. FFK is covertly working for the APC. Quote me on this. Those hate laden articles against Islam is aimed at achieving a desired end. Am sure the PDP knows this but don't know how to stop him clinging on to the few Christians they can deceive. |
Am wondering if anything changed in the electoral law since 2003. Too many divisive issues. They are just trying hard to divert our minds from the main issues. Kworruption, no electricity, bad roads, dead economy. |
azimibraun:You do not need to loose sleep and disturb your brain over some desperate guys who want to keep their jobs by all means possible. Nigeria has been turned to a laughing stock in Africa. This guy has been silent all along and sounded intelligent but he has just opened his mouth to repeal this insinuation. |
calaway:Even Tompolo knows if GEJ lose the next elections he is in for a long thing. I bet you he will maintain peace so he can enjoy the money he has made. A buhari presidency will not have room for people of his kind. No man, I repeat no man can be bigger than his country except only in a highly compromised government which you know buhari will never allow. There's a reason many thieves do not want him on board but it seems they have lost it this time.. |
WhiteTechnology:Stay on Nairaland and be doing online support activism for Niger Delta while Jonathan share your oil wealth with the same northerners and westerners. Is Jerry Gana and Tunde Ayeni from Niger Delta? Until you will make family and cannot pay school fees before you will be wise. |
anonimi:Must you speak? Are you currently studying Defence Mechanisms in school? |
Aksonman:But this is all I see from my Crystal ball!
|
mikeansy:Stop lying to satisfy masters who doesn't know you exist and WILL NEVER know! Lying must be genetic in you. Sambo's house is intact in Lafia/Abubakar Tafawa Balewa way in Kaduna and has been so since they entered government. |

This northern elders should not alter the general and popular aspirations of Nigerians at the moment with their idiotic mentality. General Buhari is not running on a Northern mandate but the mandate of the oppressed and poor from the four corners of this country. If you ask me I will say this is a plot of the same people who do not want this man to ever rule Nigeria again. Buhari already has a popular appeal among Nigerians that he doesn't need any old confused people from the north to speak for. Some people might be working for some people somewhere. Quote me on this but they will fail. The much needed change must come. |
Nigerian women without apology are the most sophisticated and gorgeous women in the world with a traditional dress sense second to none. |
OROZ:And both of you are selling the same car, one says 2007 the other 2009? Who is lying here? |

I know lots of people who have broken these 21 rules. If the mods were strict to the core, we'll have only about 20 active Nairaland users. Good thing they are lenient
