The Search for Naija's next big thing in the CAM role

The search for Creative and Ball carrying/ball retaining midfield talents is the reason for calls to see Christantus Uche start centrally for Nigeria, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro called up and Raphael Onyedika finally given his well earned run of games as our #1 CDM.

But as we hope for Chelle to take the right steps especially with respect to calls for Akinsanmiro to be blooded in, I must say that my fear for any other emerging Creative midfield talent is the likelihood of them going into Obscurity like Kelechi Nwakali.

At the 2023 Wafu B U17 tournament which we won, Ugbade gave us not 1 but 2 bonafide CAM Talents.

- Ebube Okere
- Ozor Victor Okeke

Today, Ebube Okere is nowhere to be found
Last I heard of him, he featured for Mavbrooks in the 2024 Lagos Liga in December.

Ozor Victor Okeke secured a move to Europe in August 2024 to IF Elfsborg. But since then he has been stuck in Elfsborg U19. He is 19 now. Nothing from the lad as at this point and I hope it changes.

Now today again in 2025, we have another one. David Edeh, Captain of the current Golden Eaglets. Obviously very talented CAM. FK specialist too. Let us hope he doesnt find his way into Obscurity too.

Our scarcity of midfielders of the Creative Profile at the senior level is worrying.
Ifeoluwa porous you know him
There is one mubarak suleiman who joined spartan prague less than a month ago and is in their European youth team.
Also ibrahim alani in Spain.
I am baffled. Why have some of them being invited for this u20 world cup
More will show up perhaps next year.

That penalty goal really set us up for a hard match against this Norwegian wall especially knowing that we dont have the quality in the middle to break them down heads on. Na manage we dey manage Ayuma and co in the middle. Daga not at his best today too. Arriving late doing him no good.

Aliyu really shot himself in the foot today shaa. We look so disjointed. Sani did not start. Brought him in only after we reàlised the error. We were a little better at the U20 Afcon. This first game is an eye sore. Would need a big turnaround in the second game to right the wrong.

VAR decision too not going our way. Omo. Just a really bad day.
Due to one reason or the other i dont think we selected our best players. What of ideoluwa oluwaporoku or cletus somethins (i have forogotten his full name) what of the boy in real valladolid. another boy on troyes who is a winger. Some level of brinery was used to select around 30% of the players. its showing

I mean qualifying for the world cup will get nff some money. I don't know much about football administration in nigeria as in I don't work for nff but that is my opinion. Qualifying for the world cup should be a good opportunity to make money for those officials and even if for selfish reasons, they will want us to qualify

not happening , Afcon is around the corner
Make I talk. Sodiq ismail if he plays is better as a winger. The coach who made him to play defence is limiting his potential. The issue is that if he plays for us our coaches will put him as a right back and blame him for conceding goals. In the match he okayes for us anytime he went forward he made an impact. The issue with him is that as a winger he keeps it short and simple (kiss). His accurate crosses is more valuable than dribling 100 times. Just 3 accurate crosses and you have a goal or two. This is his strength as a winger. I am talking from a coaching or tactical point of view and not about where he played or anything else. This is just a logical observation

Manchester united scouting teenage flying eagles goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt.
Those who say our grassroots football is not working or stuff like nigerian football is collapsing ate exaggerating. We practically are producing talented players every time.
You said our midfielders are injured. In the last 2 years we have come up with
Dennis in goztepe turkey
Ebenezer akinsanmiro in ousa fc Italy.
Onuche ogbelu in esperance of Tunisia.
Chrisantus uche in crystal palace.
There is still more to come. The injured midfielders might not even affect us if we looked more closely

Anyway i wonder how a midfield of Daniel Daga and Frank Onyeka will be with an attacking midfielder in front of them (iwobi, akinsanmiro). It will be like the great wall of China.
Two workaholics nothing can go through and will be able to shut down anything and arrest any opposing midfield. The AM in front of them can then be free to attend to attacking duties. Daniel Daga can also contribute in attack sometimes.

You are thinking. I dont say this with hate but with utmost respect for Simon.

Simon currently will best serve us as an impact player off the bench. Trust me, it is just about that time. No sentiments here if we must break this limitation we have forced onto ourselves..
His place on the left can be taken by Iwobi. Thing is Iwobi can also orchestrate this way on the right. Simon must go to the bench. Coz Lookman is also there.
Maybe it is a cultural, social and psychological problem.
Basically, humans learn by social and cultural conditioning and when this conditioning is wrong, human find it difficult to change, adopt better practices or try better alternatives of forms of knowledge.
The issue is we have a pattern (4 4 2 or 4 2 4) or its variants handed down culturally and socially from the okocha era. We want to follow this pattern without considering if the players we have fit into this culturally and socially inherited pattern. We might be playing iwobi as a deep lying midfielder who can operate in even a 2 man midfield because he is okochas family member and so he has to play like okocha. Its similar to other positions. Until recently, our coaches will not try other alternatives apart from a 2 man midfield. We often hold on to the past and experienced players without thinking of their current form. Its taking chelle loosing points to see the limitations in Ekongs game. The best thing is to look at our players as they are not as their cultural forefathers are (ikpeba, siasia, okocha etc). We may need a younger generation of coaches and players to deactivate ourselves from our cultural and social conditioning. This is why younger players and coaches may work because they simply come with their own skills and patterns. they wont start trying to play like kanu, okocha etc. They will just be themselves.
I mean, it took a new generation for humans to agree that planes could fly (the wright brothers). This is why i think chelle can succeed as he is a relatively young man and he will not be bound by a certain cultural conditioning.

We keep benching Raphael Onyedika in the Super Eagles when his passing and composure on the ball is one of the keys to setting up the Creativity blocks of our middle game.

Raphael Onyedika, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Christantus Uche... these lads hold the keys. Then throw in an experienced Iwobi operating as he does at Fulham. But naah... we keep limiting ourselves.
This is why I want chele to stay. Chelle seems open to new ideas. See how he played chukwueze as a no 10 and already he is bringing chrisantus uche into the team. He will be open to inviting akinsamiro and using onyedika. He is not stuck with a set of players.

Felix Agu: Super Eagles RB conundrum

I think there is an option 5 on our Super Eagles Rightback issues with Aina sidelined.

Felix Agu is predominantly right footed even though strongly ambipedal and have featured at RB several times for Werder Bremen, Osnabruck and even the German U21s back then in friendlies.
His composure, game intelligence, experience in the role and natural right foot in sync with his two-footedness makes him a likely candidate.

He could be our answer for the October games as RB.

Zaidu and Bruno are strong on the left like Agu so perhaps it would serve us well to shift Agu to the right temporarily while Zaidu and Bruno battle for the left come October.
It is the players we may not rate that will get results for us. Players like ebenezer akinsanmiro, sodiq awjola who has won an African champions league, a guy in vremonese I have forgotten his name, aieu the defender in Austria, onuche ogbelu of esperance. Chelle should learn to believe in these dark horses. They will be ready to die forbhim

The future of nigerian football is seriously bright. Football academies are a silent revolution. All we need is a good ciach for the Super Eagles who will notice. Jakumo:
Compared to most states in the USA, British race relations have been cordial over the years, despite occasional flare-ups like the Brixton Riots years ago. Inter-racial dating, for example, barely raises an eyebrow in the UK, whereas in some parts of the USA, a wise black man will know where NOT to socialize in the company of his white girlfriend or wife.

In the UK it is not unusual for a group of work colleagues or friends to comprise individuals whose racial lineages trace to all our planet's continents, unlike in America where a de-facto segregation of the races exists in every aspect of life from school districts, to radio station audiences, to shopping malls, and to the natural groupings of students in high school and college.

It is therefore dismaying to see billionaire campaign-donor Elon Musk urging the British right wing to overthrow their elected leaders so that the type totalitarianism currently materializing in the USA can take hold in the UK. The influence of such a powerful and wealthy man as Elon Musk should be a matter of grave concern for all whose skin color is any shade of brown, even if the last few generations of their family were born in the UK.

Thanks to Elon Must, American Tyrant Donald Trump won the last presidential election in the USA, so the likelihood is high that Elon Musk will pour millions of dollars to support the most virulently right wing political rabble rouser he can find, when the next elections to elect a Prime Minister take place in the UK.
look i am a black man. The western world is a judeo -christian civilization and should remain so. They have a right to preserve their heritage, ,culture, civilization and race.
We third world countries should develop our countries and our mind.
The far left in the western world is dangerous as it encourages low birth rate and extinction of the european race. We blacks just have to develop our country and stop running all over the world. That is the truth.

As long as Ola Aina returns before Afcon Kickoff in same december, I am fine.

But the reality is this: Unlike the left side where we have quality in Bruno or Felix Agu or even Zaidu, the right only has Aina. Osayi is unreliable. Sodiq "Arnold" is not it abeg.

This is why I shared news of that Samuel Isife kid now at Slavia Prague. We need quality options on the right, upgrades on Osayi and Sodiq "Arnold" Ismail.

The Afcon is now 100 days away.
1. The issue with the Nigerian team is bad coaching. I mean just bad choices of players selection and formation. The ekong error stuff. Peseiro insisting on francis uzoho. Those things cost us around 7 points.
2. Chelle seems to be learning how to use his players. His uses if benjamin franklin shows it. We are fund of emotional decisions. In fact, owngoalnigeria said the players convinced chelle that he should use ekong against South africa. Chelle is gradually learning the hard way.
3. One thing I like about chelle is that he is not afraid to use new players.
5. Chelle should be left alone no matter what happens until after the nations cup. This nations cup will make us see what he can do. Its only a few months away.

International football is different from intercontinental football. West africsn teams and a few North african teams are better at playing European or South American teams. The only North African teams good outside the continental are morocco and Algeria. The rest of the North African teams falter outside Africa. Look, ghana can win the world cup and then loose to cameroon. Morocco that got to the world cup semi final cannot even win the nations cup. Recently we drew 1 1 with Russia in a friendly. Most southern African teams are not too good when competing outside the continent. Even Egypt don't make much of an impact globally. West African teams like Ghana, caneroon, ivory coast etc will do better in the world cup than South africa.

Gibberish. Go make your point and don’t quote me.
Human knowledge is too limited to claim or decide on the existence of God. We don't even have accurate information on the creatures in the sea, the galaxies, olanets or stars in the universe and many other things. Scientists keep making research everyday and they say what we humans know of the universe is only 10%. We don't even know enough about stuff like dark energy, and so many things. The human mind is too finite to comprehend that there is a being with no beginning and no end or a concept like eternity. Saying there is no God is the most foolish and dumbest thing anybody can say. That is damn ignorant. It's not knowledge at all. It is based on limited observation. 200 years ago Scientists thought flying planes was impossible due to limited knowledge. The idea that God does not exist is also due to the limitations of human knowledge.
You atheists are always scared when you meet a religious person that is intellectual. Atheism is very foolish when you consider eternity and how mysterious the universe is

The concept of God as a supreme being is merely humanly construct born out of the reasoning that our being on earth is divinely ordained. There is nothing like God or all the folklore that the holy books teaches.

To some, the world and life dates back ages beyond human comprehension. Also some believe that the world has constantly be reset. Eg, ancient Egyptian civilization etc.
You claim to be logical. Ok let us reason.
A computer cannot exist alone. I mean it is so complex that it needs an intelligent designer.
So also is the universe. The universe is so complex that it is simply illogical and outright stupid to say that nobody designed it.
So logically there must be an intelligent being that designed the universe.
Ancient wise men must have thought of this and thus, came up with the concept of God. We humans are also not here by chance. There is some law of the cosmos that created the Universe and guides our behaviour.
It is simply logical.
The Universe is too complex to not have a designer. It is simply impossible
FamilyRe: My Husband Gave His Side Chick Car While I Suffer With Our Kids- Woman Cries Out by Philosopher1979: 11:02pm On Sep 07, 2025
TONYE001:
Whoever teaches you guys these things has defrauded you all.

Funny how many of you think you sound smart, but in reality, your lines of thought are distant from facts.

A wife a liability? Just how? Your positions on husband-wife matters are strongly suggestive of childhood faulty family settings since our parents are the first to introduce the concept of marriage to us.

Now, I won't just stop at attacking you and your likes; I'll make frank efforts to educate you:

1. No, a wife is in no way a liability. In fact, the ideal husband-wife relationship isn't a business transaction where one can be labelled an asset, and the other, a liability. Ideally, a marriage is a setting in which a husband and a wife come together to work up a project - the family project. Both parties contribute according to their abilities; ideally, there is no fixed law guiding this collaboration. No law should dictate if the husband should bring A and the wife, B. This is because the union is fluid-like, it does not assume any particular conformation. Where one party is unable to bring A, the other party easily compensates. Like this, both husband and wife support each other, and do a lot of sacrifices backstage.

2. The African tradition has plastered an annoying stereotype in our heads. The African man easily thinks that the husband is the sole provider. In fact, this is not just a thing of tradition or culture; it actually reeks of ego, unhealthy ego and pride. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY HOMES THAT ARE RUN BY WOMEN?? You just have no idea! In one Nigerian study, researchers noted that female breadwinning is becoming "increasingly common" in urban settings (Akanle and Nwaobiala, 2019). In another study that sampled Nigerian primary school teachers, results showed that in over 70% of families, females/wives are the breadwinners ((Nnubia, Ibeanu, and Okechukwu, 2020). The concept of female breadwinning would have been there decades before now if not for the skewed African culture many of our parents and grandparents practice(d) (this culture NEVER MADE SENSE; essentially, it is a STUPID idea to deprive women of education and empowerment, depriving women of their rights to steps that would have ensured their independence shows how insecure our forefathers were). Just imagine how the family structure has changed since females started achieving independence, especially financial independence. Now, because they now have money, wives support their families...and in multiple instances, they RUN/SPONSOR their families.

Let me explain more. Females are more motivated, more caring (biologically), and more ambitious than men (Tao, 2014; Wicht, Miyamoto, and Lechner, 2022; Naz, Shah, and Qayum, 2020). Even among Nigerian populations, the findings are similar (Ojule, 2024). With these attributes, females are likely to be more successful than males IF ALL THINGS ARE ALLOWED EQUAL. Imagine they were allowed access to financial independence long before now? If this were the case, many families would have been liberated from poverty long before the current generation. So, partly, it's the African culture that has made poverty strongly palpable across families today.

3. How can you call the woman that births your children a liability? Why did you not have those kids with the side chick? This is callous thinking and demonstrates a heightened level of irresponsibility. With this thinking, I should feel pity for any woman you end up with. Perhaps, intending spouses should be submitting their social media handles before marriage. With a post like this, I wonder if any woman would want to settle with you (that's if you aren't married already).

4. If you fall sick or run into difficult situations, who would stand by your side? The side chick? Mabel Okungbowa is a Nigerian wife who donated a kidney to her husband. Would a side chick do this? Who is present throughout the growth of the children? A side chick?

5. [b]A more personal example. I went back to school roughly 2 years after getting married. At the time, I and my wife were concluding our master's-degree programmes. I was working, my wife was too, but not something rewarding, just something to keep her CV busy. I resigned from my work, went back to school for a third degree - MBBS. I was in medical school for 7 whole years. In these years, my wife was my strongest support system. If not for that lady, I wouldn't be a medical doctor today. She helped me realize my dream, and in so doing, she gave up some important moves that would have skyrocketed her career. My wife did a whole lot, a whooooooollllllleeee lot. Every single day of our 11 years of marriage so far, I make sure I let wifie know how grateful I am! In my family group chat, when discussing with my parents and siblings, I ensure I let them know all my wife does. I want my people to know about her sacrifices...just in case I pass on before her. And, thankfully, my family appreciates her! Is there a side chick in this whole world and in the heavens that would have done a millionth of what my wife did? Nope! How can anyone call a wife a liability?

6. Just like I had said, when it comes to husband-wife matters, many people think they sound smart, but in truth, their positions in the matter displays ignorance and poor parental orientation....like Gehgeh (or whatever he's called). Women are doing a lot on the family front. Many are sacrificing their lives just for the family to succeed. Many would have been professors, millionaires, heads of great corporations, international figures if not for the fact that they are wives and mothers......though I do not support this (I would create a thread about this one day).

Dear Nigerian women, dear wives and mothers, on behalf of the many grateful husbands of yours, I say THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO. We see your works, your sacrifices, your doings. Maybe we should be speaking out more so this horrible narrative about you won't be extended to the next generation.

NB: I'm guessing that many commenters on this thread are single young guys. This post is educative, and you all are the exact targets. You all may not accept it, but I'm grateful for those that will.

Geh geh is basically a grand child of red pill philosophy. You misunderstand red pill. Red pill even discourages spending on a woman without finding out if she really likes you or not. Red pill says if you use only money to woo a woman then she will leave and not be able to make any sacrifices for you. Red pill does not discourage a woman working or spending for the family. The issue is in the process of trying to woo a woman if you just give her huge amounts of money a day after meeting her, the kind of women that will fall for you are women who are only interested in your money and not women who really like you. Geh geh philosophy is just a grand child of the more complex red pill philosophy. the red pill just tries to understand female nature from various perspectives. So dont misunderstand it.

Truidstarr:
The way Spain dey beat Turkey ehn!!! 6-0 so far. Na wa!!! Na so we suppose dey beat these noise makers for Africa.
It is because Russia refused to play a defensive game. They decided to just attack and play a normal game but Spains individual quality and attack and midfield were too strong for them. Watched the first half and i thought it would end up being 6 2 or something llike that. Turkey should have played a defensive game and locked up. At least if they lost it will be by one or two goals. You cant play attacking football with Spain if you are not portugal, brazil, italy etc.
Turkey does not just have the players to stand up to them. they just have like 4 outstanding players and the rest are Turkish league players
