Who knows what it takes to open a dom account. Because I wanna use it to fund my blocked account. Also which bank in Nigeria can anyone suggest that is best for such transactions
Was in this situation last month. My options were Zenith, First bank, and Gtb. Although I heard Gtb Dom services is good but I still went to all to get their forms and for answers to my enquiries. They require same documents to open: ID card(passport, driver's license, etc), utility bill(phcn, water etc) and two references from current account holders from any bank(not salary accounts tho). I think that's all(if memory serves me right). You can walk up to them and ask.

But I was more particular about the transfer charges because the block account payment can only be made twice due to daily limit. Zenith is 70€/eqv of 70$ (can't remember) per transfer, making a total of 140. It was much from the charges I got from first bank and Gtb, with first bank being slightly better. The only glitch for me with first bank is that they require initial deposit of 100€ and I wasn't ready for that.

So, I decided to go for Gtb : forms to fill are simple and straight to point(except you don't have an account with them) , charges are cheap and cheaper than others if it's an inflow into your account and not desk deposit by your aboki/you. And charges can be paid in naira as I was told, which is cool.

Good luck

People, I hail oooo

My interview falls on the 23rd of August.

I have identified about three other people scheduled for interview on the same date..

I was with a muslim friend this morning and just glancing through his phone, I saw August 23rd and 24th marked as Idel Fitiri or something like that, I asked him, and he confirmed its Salla, that will inevitably become public holidays...
What if this dates is declared holidays, what happens to our appointment?

Abeg make person wey get the experience hint me on what to expect.
Thanks
You need to understand German embassy compound is not a Nigerian territory. When you are in the compound of the embassy, you can say you are in Germany. So, it's only if the holiday is declared in Germany, which they would have considered before giving you appointment, that they would acknowledge the holiday. That's my own angle to this.

Besides, I'm sure you won't want to miss that hard earned appointment because it's a Public when the embassy have not told you so. I trust Nigerians

Anyone coming to Lagos for interview pls stay away from EXTENDED STAY GRAND HOTEL (behind Canadian Embassy)..those people are thieves, they will make u book a room online (10,500)...when u get there, they will tell u they don't have any room for that price that their room starts from 14k. ....and the rooms are absolutely not worth the money...and a plate of rice and chicken is 3k. ...as in....

Better places to stay are New world Inn(7k), even Sapper Lodge(12k)....(don't be scared about walking alone around 5:30am, that place is really okay and safe, u will even see a lot of people out at that same time, even the queue @us embassy is ridiculous) grin

Secondly if u are coming from abuja like me, pls ignore those hungry airport workers, they told me getting to VI cost 7k and only for me to later ask a friend and they told me it's btw 3-5k...Lagos people have problem with integrity, I swear!...don't trust anyone in Lagos...and yes their girls wear really really short things(I was shy on their behalf)and can be very very rude
Lol

pls boss, which uni can u recommend 4 me dat will accept letter of proficiency in English language.
I can't help you on that. You will need to do that yourself. Check DAAD website and Google. It's a long but interesting thing to do. Sometimes you choose a course but after searching more you see another and cancel the previous one. Trust me, That feeling is enthralling and you feel relieved that you've searched yourself and made the best possible decision for yourself and not what one dude from nairaland told you. Everything is on the internet.

But then, a friend of mine got a very very easy admission offer. He studied your kind of course at undergrad level too. Got offer for MSc Geomatics from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences with only Letter of proficiency, open admission (ie the earlier you submit your admission the earlier you get your offer), without sending certified/notorised copy until admission offer was sent and everything completely online!. The only glitch with the offer was that the school is in Baden Württemberg where 1500€ per semester fee is applicable. So, it's left to you to search as he did. Even if a school tells you that you need toefl, you can still mail them that your undergraduate was taught in English. You definitely have all the time to search for now since it's against winter 2020

Good luck Bro

Very very high. Just search for your schools and have all necessary documents ready with you. Aside certificates, one crucial document is your transcript. You just have to find your way through getting the hardcopy legally or illegally. Good luck

The VO will not measure the passport on the day of your interview so relax. Just be sure your head covers about 70% of the passport and it's recent while your shoulders take the remaining 30%. I'm sure you will be fine.
Thank you.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by phodio: 10:19pm On Aug 01, 2018
Hello people. On The passport photo requirement.

Did you guys use ruler to measure yours? The guy that took my picture brought a photo he claimed to be 45mm X 35mm (computer standard, as he said). I used ruler to measure and it's not so. The ruler measurement gives around 50 X 40mm. I argued with him but the guy said it's his job and had given me what he felt was correct.

Who's right? What should I do?

Thank you very much,
using the calculation method I found here, my German GPA was 2.0 and 2"1 Naija scale.
As regards the uni-assist thing, I would put that at the back of my mind. Thanks all the same sir

is mission statement the same as motivation letter?
OK. This is good. And I believe you won't need to waste money applying to so many schools. But you must be very strategic. Know your strengths and weaknesses with the courses and your transcript. For example, one can't apply for highly programming inclined course when one had E or D in one's undergraduate programming courses and no other experiences to justify why one should be selected. I believe you understand.

Also, If you want to work in Germany, don't choose a course that will spoil your hustle over there. Which means you need to look into the course contents. All these should be looked into holistically before you choose your courses. So consider this and what I and other respected people here have said earlier and make a good decision.

Mission statement, motivation letter, cover letter etc all serve the same purpose in an admission process.

Good luck brethren!

did I hear you say 3schools I won't advise that I did more than 10 and only two admission show so Bros do as many as possible but just do max of tep for uniassist school if you must do them coa I didn't do any uniassit.
Enjoy
I did only one and got it. And I have people that did just only one and got. So, it depends on couple of factors and one just need to make an informed decision. 3 schools are OK. But if more than 3 is needed, one should know is needed based on some of the factors I indicated. But if he can do as many as possible, he can go on. Only that the guy wants to cut down the list. That's why I suggested that.

Hello Deutschlanders ,

I am new to this thread and It's my first time posting here. I have exhaustively gone through this part 5 thread from page 1 to the current page, and I wholeheartedly appreciate everyone contributing here, may you guys get your AM as soon as possible Amen. Much thanks goes to those our brothers and sisters over there that take time out of their tight schedule to respond to issues here, may you people never be forgotten Amen.

I studied Mechanical Engineering in my BSc level and hope to pursue my masters program over there for the 2019/2020 Academic session, in one of the Diverse fields of Mechanical Engineering, Engineer Management or Renewable Energy.

I have thoroughly ransacked through the DAAD and Mastersportal platforms (to the best of my knowledge lol) and have shortlisted out some schools and courses I plan applying to study e.g

Europa-Universität Flensburg - Energy and Environmental Management
University of Siegen - International Graduate Studies in Mechatronics
TU Dortmund - Automation and Robotics
TU Dortmund - Manufacturing Technology
Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt - Renewable Energy Systems
TU Munchen - Management and Technology
Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences - Mechanical Engineering
South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences - Systems Engineering and Engineering Management

There are 7 Schools 8 courses above, on the DAAD platform, they are taught in English and require proficiency in English, and for the case of TU Dortmund, I learnt GRE is also a key perquisite for admission.

please guys I would sincerely want your advice, information as well as personal experience (for those schooling there) as regards this schools and their host state in terms of ease of securing admission, Adaptation, job opportunities and socialization, because I intend to prune the list down a bit.

I pray I get a Scholarship to help pursue this dream because raising at least 8000 EUR is very sweet lol (make I gv myself hope)

So sorry for the length (I wan make una know where I for dey come and where I dey go)

I love the unity and oneness here, Thanks guys as you respond.
It basically depends on your cgp. With a good cgp and averagely OK mission statement, you don't need to apply to much schools. Just max of 3 is OK and the best way, for me, to cut down the list is to look for schools that don't require uni assist for their application process. That uni assist is one hell of headache for me. Kudos to those that went through uni assist process.

Although you need a cgp of 2.5 German scale. But personally, if your cgp is not 2.1 naija cgp, then you need more backups especially if the school's admission is restricted. If your cgp is now below 2.5 German scale, carefully apply to as many schools as you can, ensure mission statement is top notch and avoid restricted applications.

All in all, you just have to look carefully into these factors (not limited to these) and make a good personal decision before cutting down the list.

Good luck

Hello guys.
Can the prepaid envelope that I am to take to the embassy carry a different address from what I used to book for appointment or that of the address on my admission letter? After the AM drops (by God's grace), I will like to receive my documents back by myself and that's only possible if I put my workplace address on the prepaid envelope.

Why did you try Deutsch Bank? That bank is a waste of time. You just wasted precious time and it's so sad cos you should have tried fintiba instead. Let's hope its not too late. Just sharply go ahead and open fintiba. You will get opening confirmation in max at 2days and rush to apply for visa appointment. God be with you.

You shouldn't be doing this tbh, you can ask him to hope for the best but you can't state what would be on point or not.

Many people here have been encouraging people to go for their interview without their First school leaving certificate and we all saw how it turned out for that young man in Abuja. So please let's always be precise with our response to questions, if you're not sure, just say you are not sure
I don't understand what you are saying.

A document with just your Surname and First Name is enough anywhere in the world. I have a friend that doesn't even have an official middle name. Check any form, middle name is not compulsory (or at least, I've not come across any that it's compulsory). So if middle name is not on his pry sch certificate, I assure you that it's definitely not an issue. Not in a less relevant certificate like pry school. But if you have a better response, you can provide to the person. I've only said what I know. Thanks

Was in your situation last week. I requested for for acceptance letter while I wait for the admission letter. Used that to book appointment and got a date. See below for my format...

Dear Sir,

I am very pleased and happy for the great opportunity given to me to join the...... MSc program at the great University of...... .

I would love to have an acceptance letter urgently from you while I await the official admission letter to enable me apply for visa appointment as the appointment dates are limited in my country and almost booked out for winter session.

Acceptance letter is sufficient for booking visa appointment date while official admission letter will be used for the interview. I will be glad if this is provided urgently to me

Thank you and warm regards,

BUT NOTE: this depends on whether your enrollment deadline is within the range the the embassy is considering for appointment dates. Enrollment deadline /resumption date has to be indicated on the acceptance letter. It would be better to have an enrollment deadline in mid to end of October.

from what I understand he said that he finished OND then enter direct entry into level 200 in a university and graduate now he wants to proceed to masters in Germany so he's asking whether to include both OND transcripts and the university transcripts since the university transcripts starts from level 200 and not from 100
Exactly. Very on point.

Please house, I had OND before my university degree; my degree transcript shows academic records of 200 level and above, is it necessary to also get the OND transcript?

Someone with similar experience should please respond.
The only one necessary is your BSc transcript. Your OND is just to support your application. I applied last year adding only My OND certificate with other essential documents and got admission offer. I applied to the same school this year but now with my OND transcript and certificate and still got.

Summary : if you can get your OND transcript, use it. If not, don't kill yourself about it.
