Amaterasu: Thanks for this your warm and insightful response . And Concerning the point you raised of your friend getting married before visa. What if I decide to use the registry for sharp court marriage so the date would be before my visa abd my married marital status would reflect on my visa information , how do I go about it since my international passport is already bearing single as marital status. And this would not affect my getting a visa, like looking desperate to the VO considering the proximity of the marriage date You can try that too. I believe it would even show that you wish to go back to Nigeria after your studies (which is what they want). But ensure you take enough photos of your wedding. I heard it is necessary during the Reunion visa process. But then, Is your Visa not still in September/October? You can still do the court stuff in June and have 3 months gap. That shouldn't be an issue. Or you can come here first, then go back after 6-12months and do the marriage. And in 6 months after that, she is gonna be with you (in your second year before you even finish school). Afterall, your initial plan was to come here and finish your school before the reunion. Note: This is only what I heard and believe should work out but I am not liable for any decision you make ..Lol. I only said what I have seen others do for sure. And If it worked for others, it should work for you. I was even considering the second option above but bae is coming through her own separate student visa.. |

Amaterasu: I am planning to get married after I get my visa, I don't want to leave my fiancee without any assurance. My question is how would this influence my bringing her over to germany after my studies and am stable in DE. Like what are the pros and cons of getting this step.Help a brother here. Hey bro. You are a good man. You can even bring her to Germany while still studying through REUNION VISA. Germany is making family reunion easier, as I heard. I know someone who did that. But that person got married before getting Visa oo. But let's consider your case. Know what you intend to fill in numerous registration when you get to Germany. Would you fill single or married knowing fully well that you would be single in your visa details? That shouldn't be a problem only that I have no idea of how that would look. May, in the end, not be an issue. But then, what is generally needed is another blocked account amount for your wife and A1 level in German language plus other normal documents. So, she would have to start German class after your departure against that. A1 is easy to get, so no issues. Another important aspect is that you must provide evidence of accommodation for both of you here in Germany upon this Reunion application. This accommodation is 12sq-mtrs per person. So, for both of you, it's 24sq-mtrs. I think it is 6sq-mtrs for kids if you have any. For more info, visit the German embassy website. But know that it is Family reunion you need and your wife will even be eligible to work in Germany. And it is even advisable to do it while a student (maybe after you settle down well, say after your first year). |

Nellso: Good people. Long post coming through!!!!!!!!
First of all, I give all Glory to God. I started this journey with Him and He never left me at any point in time. Let us always appreciate our gurus in Germany who always take out time to come here and pitch in one or two advise. Trust me, its far from easy. I have been here 2 days now, and I don tire for waka! Haven't gotten my semester ticket, so I dey trek more than 8kms in total everyday. on the plus side, I will use it as exercise.
Here is my travel story...... Abuja airport people wanted to act film by asking me for yellow card (something I have never heard of until Saturday evening ahead of my sunday flight). I just confidently told the guy Germany doesn't require yellow card. He looked at me with one kind eye and all of a sudden 500naira jumped out of my pocket and into his hands. Left Abuja airport sunday 1:25pm flight Ethiopian airlines (my first flight experience and it was as smooth as it can ever be. Although take-off fit give person HBP. I even saw an air hostess praying seriously during take-off. So I wondered, if she's used to it and yet still panics during take-off, me nko? Lol. All in all, it was smooth. You haven't flown until you've flown in a Boeing 787 dreamliner and Airbus A350-900. Landed in Addis-Ababa, 2hrs55mins layover, then boarded to Frankfurt. Landed in Frankfurt 3:30am (Nigerian time), 5:30am Local time. I stayed at the airport for more than 5 hours waiting for a friend who flew Emirates, not knowing he had landed and left the airport. Boarded a train directly from the airport to Freiburg for 69euros (I didn't budget for that o!). Smooth speed train. It was a 3hr ride to Freiburg. Arrived and couldn't find my hostel and getting directions was difficult as it seems like MOST Germans are always on the move. Difficult to stop someone and ask for directions. It would seem like you're costing him money. So if I want to ask for directions, I go into a store or shop, meet the receptionist, and they will gladly and joyfully direct you. Germans are nice, courteous and ready to help. You could spit on someone and the person would still apologise to you! (Pls don't do that). I got lost so so so many times, until I remembered someone posted DB navigator here sometime. So to the glory of God, getting lost has ended.
My people, learn German before coming o!!! You dont have to be a pro, but learn the basics. Salutations, gratitude. It would help you right from the airport. I am still struggling with the necessary registrations and unblocking but so far so good. It isn't very cold yet, but for someone who has been in Nigeria all his life, it is cold!!!!!! All in all, it is a great place to live and study. Clean environment. Imagine downloading at 10mb per second?? Cool yeh? Lastly, face your studies people. We all know how hard it was to get to where we are, so let's not throw all that away for some reason.
Goodluck to people awaiting AM and also to all summer applicants. Tchuss!!!!! Freiburg, Baden-Wurttemberg Bro, I have got my AM. Hopefully, I would be flying next week Friday. My question: 1) Did you book the train to Freiburg online or when you got to Frankfurt. 2) Are you through with your enrollment. How many days did it take? 3) Can I pm you so that we can connect properly? Lol |

coollyseas: Thanks for the quick response, I used BA for my interview which has been blocked. I also submitted an enrollment extension letter during my interview at the embassy. Just staring at my email for an update from the embassy all day long is not helping at all. Have you sent mail to them requesting for an update. I did mine on 20th also. My enrollment deadline is also 31st. I Mailed them Monday morning and got my AM in the afternoon. Please do that also if you've not done so. You never can tell |

So exercise some patience. Also, my enrolment deadline is tomorrow, but I've already gotten an extension till Oct 24th. Thought you are already in Freiburg oo. I dey follow your process bumper to bumper. I got enrollment extension till 31st. I just hope I'm there in time. Still waiting for AM. Interview was on Sep 20. Hello guys. Since I'm older than Dec 1992, I've gotten age declaration (around 1k) at high court. But I also went further to get ATTESTATION of Age from NPC (around 10k+). And I'm definitely taking both to the embassy. But, I have a friend who have not gotten any and wants to get now.
Is the age declaration the needed one with the NPC ATTESTATION being just extra and over sabi. Or the attestation is the real deal. Urgent response needed. Thanks |

I think some people said, many pages back, that the block amount figure €8,829 can't be paid in one transaction and I held that belief. But not anymore as the amount can be sent in one single transaction.
Just feel like sharing this. One love |
