I can't recall. I recall posting all the pre-season matches last saturday. Mind checking backposts? Even Wengay thinks they can topple us this season. I read an article on Eurosport about Man city that they appear to be setting themselves up for a fall. Tevez is being used as the arrowhead of their obsession with United. I really don't see Carly as a focal point per se. He's not going to score 30. By drawing unnecessary attention to Themselves and also vying for a Top four finish with such mega signings, they will feel very hard done by Mark hughes misses out on a european place.
Wengay also defended the sale of KT saying he had too many defenders already. I'm taking note of that comment. On a lighter note, Kolo Toure called his new club Man U City. gringrin

That's what I also feel. I remember a particular season where we had more than 11 different scorers. Honestly, Valencia cannot play with that flashy all-conquering swagger that Cr9 commands but I don't think he'll do badly as a winger. Injury-barred, we should be just fine also if the team adapts to the tactical change fast enough to improvise if things are becoming difficult. That said, we're still gonna be underdogs this coming season especially if we lose the Community Shield match.

Happy birthday to ya. Wishing you a smooth day like VDS's gloves, May your day be as beautiful as Anderson's only goal. God'll continue to protect you from NL's abominable spambots and even more abominable haters. Long life and prosperity. And the congregation says AMEN!
Tkb
How you dey? Nothing much is happening except yesterday's sharing of our goals burden. See my post up, who do you think will not meet up? Cr9 played a penalty kick and several other rugby kicks last night as The Madrid box of candy fell apart again.

you sure about this? me thinks Juve will not even consider selling him. He is their new Del Piero.

CR9 is trying though but men. . .This RM team still never gel at all.
They made an inquiry in last summer and in January but nothing came out of it grin grin. He was also nearly included in the deal that brought Amauri to Juventus last year but Ranieri refused to let him go and they paid in full instead. The boy is good o, he led the Italian U21 at the last UEFA tourney. Not sure if he was the captain but he was player of the match on several occasions. Oops, Real madrid is out, Juventus are through to the Finals of the Peace Cup, CR9 doesn't look at all happy with the outcome or Amauri either grin grin

CR9 looks sightly disturbed. His free kicks are blazed either too high or straight into the wall.
Giovinco is a beast. Kids got raw talent.
Giovinco? Tell me what i don't know. Juve were gonna sell him to Arsenal and the whole fans went up in arms against it and poor Wengay had to take his pedophile eyes elsewhere in the shape of Birschoff who he's discarded for [b]Vermin[/b]lien.

I don't know about Ronaldo but It's gonna take some time for those FKs to start going in, he seems to be off rhythm now.

Another penalty goal for CR9, It seems he's now the official kicktaker now since Raul won the penalty but he took it. I see the goals will come in the bucketful from the spot. He doesn't miss a lot of those. Man are we gonna miss his great goals. I'll never forget the one agaisnt Fulham that very much clinched us the league title 2 seasons ago. embarassed embarassed

Manchester United look set for an alternative approach this season,

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated that the Premier League champions will adjust their tactics to fill the void left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese winger fulfilled a lifelong dream by joining Real Madrid earlier in the summer for a record breaking fee in the region of €94 million.

Ronaldo had proved to be the focal point of the United attack for the last few years, notching up an incredible tally of 66 Premier League goals over the past three seasons.

While Ferguson accepts the loss of the 24-year-old World Player of the Year is undoubtedly a severe blow, the 67-year-old Scot is confident that his United team can adapt to a new system and style of football.

"Obviously Cristiano is a big loss in terms of the goals he gave us," the former Aberdeen boss told Inside United.

"But we'll just have to find the goals from somewhere else, and our tactics will adjust accordingly. Fans will see us playing a slightly different style of football this season.

"The team has adapted well to whatever system we've played, whether it's 4-4-2 or three in midfield.

"We've got that flexibility in the squad. With Antonio Valencia coming in, it might be a bit more of a rigid 4-4-2 system, but we'll have to see."

Ferguson went on to claim that he expects the Red Devils to cope without Ronaldo's goals, adding that he is confident that his whole squad is capable of stepping up to the plate.

"Usually you look to score about 100 goals in all competitions, so we're aiming for that again," he said.

"If we're going to win the league again, or do well in Europe, we certainly need players to step up and help fill [the gap left by Ronaldo].

"Wayne [Rooney] is capable of scoring 18 or more, and if Michael [Owen] plays 25 games for me next season, I think he'll get 15 goals.

"I'll be looking to Park [Ji-Sung], Nani, Valencia - even [Danny] Welbeck and [Federico] Macheda - to contribute 40 goals between them. The defenders will contribute a few from set-pieces too."

Stephen Darwin, Goal.com
I think it's not too much to ask Nani, Park, Valencia and Macheda for 40 goals between them though I doubt they'll meet that quota. If all defenders contribute 10 among themselves and Rooney/Berbatov/Owen are able to make 60 among themselves too, we should be just fine, methinks grin

Isn't that the role of Ando (recently delivered) or Fletcher?  huh All you're seeing is part rustiness nothing more. Bayern and Boca are no slouches either so they were expected to give the scumtwats a run for their bacon.
The rustiness is to be expected. It's a pre-season warm up. Boca and Munich are very good teams that provide us very good work outs and the kind of preparation for a new season that we need. It's all good, bayern has got nothing on us. Except maybe one more penalty kick

biina:
I think manU need to get a solid ball winner. There low possession in both games of the tournament were not encouraging.
We already have solid ball winners, they just need to get their fluids flowing and this kind of games well bring back their football consciousness. We play Valencia next, that should get everyone sharper than they were today.

Penalties or not, they played badly. I really didn't expect us to lose the shoot out sad huh embarassed. Anyway, germans hardly ever lose shootouts even if only reserve goalkeepers play everything. World championship leader Jenson Button has hailed Michael Schumacher for taking up the challenge of replacing Felipe Massa - but feels the German faces a no-win situation.

Schumacher, 40, retired from Formula One in 2006 and took up a role as an adviser for Ferrari, but he has agreed to return to the track on a temporary basis after Massa fractured his skull in qualifying for the Hungarian grand prix at the weekend.

And although Button says he is delighted to see Schumacher return, he believes his status as an all-time great could raise expectations to uncomfortable levels.

"It will be good to have Michael back out there racing again," he said.

"There are very good people out there racing at the moment but to have Michael there again will be very special, although I'm sure we all wish Felipe was there also.

"It's a strange situation because the reason for Michael being there is because another driver can't take part.

"In a way, Ferrari are very lucky because they've someone working in their team who can jump straight into the car and be competitive - and Michael will be.

"It's an interesting one, though, because, if he wins, people will say they expected him to and, if he doesn't, they will say he should not have come back.

"So it's a tough position for him to be in, although I'm happy he has taken up the challenge. It's very brave of him."

So so long away from the circuit, no testing, no prior racing experience at Valencia and some other new tracks will really count against him. It's actually going to be a big ask of him. Either way, the sport will get some of its glamour back. Man, I can't wait to see him race. Jensen Button is of the opinion also that it's nearly too big a task for him given the amount of revolutionary changes that the sport has undergone in the last 3 years and the new buncha drivers won't let him any breathing space. I don't see him making too much of an impact though.

Meanwhile you will have to add or delete your signature. England has just reached the finals of the Uefa U19 championships. They're up 3-1 now. Whether you will delete U19 or you will add former, just appropriate the necessary changes.

Diego is pure class and genius. I saw his goal yesterday against the koreans and it was really nice. Juve bought well, very solid additions to the team and squad. Melo, Diego, They'll definitely push Inter. Milan will do well to qualify for the UCL next season.
