SportsRe: French Open 2009: Nadal Loses In The Fourth Round!!! by Phony200(m): 7:34am On Jun 09, 2009
@dk
That's where the comparison shows Federer's edge! Sampras never made it beyond the SF of the French Open ever. Federer is almost always in the Finals of Grandslams like they are wii tournaments. Whoever he's compared with, he's done everything, all his records in shorter times than anyone else. Compared to Agassi, Rod Laver, Pete Sampras and Ivan Lendl, he's done all that can be done. Do you know Federer was the player who broke Sampras's 31-win run at wimbledon? Do you know he beat Agassi for his first US open? Sports never follow logic but think of what Fed Ex may achieve before he's 30. Maybe not the greatest ever but there's definitely enough time to work on that.

For some debt-unrelated news, Man utd have given Hull city permission to talk to Frazier Campbell. A deal worth £6M is expected to be completed this week. Talk about transfers and Man utd news or better yet, display economic acumen and help us keep track of the debt United owes you.

Fed is just 27 years old and everyone is thinking retirement! Getting to 14 slams is an achievement but it's not the limit!!! Records are made to be broken, age is on his side, he can still take on d top 5 on good days and give them tutorials, well maybe with Nadal, it's more like a workout session, lol. What I'm just saying is the guy cannot be faulted for his committment and ability to recover when the whole world thought he was down and out. One more stint as world number 1 is not a dream at this rate.
And i hope nobody belittles this feat by saying crap about his opponent. Robin Soderling did a good job, getting to the finals was no fluke. He just lost a living legend is all. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
Go Roger!!!

I feel so happy you'd think I won a grand slam, lol. But it really was coming to place. No matter what haters say that it's because of Rafa's absence, any guy who get to a final four years in a row deserves to win once. A little devil in me would have loved Nadal to have been the losing finalist but i'd have also taken Ugly Betty if she was in the final grin. Whether he can win any other grand slam to add to his 14, i don't really know and frankly do not care. I'm just glad the tears he shed last wimbledon did not go to waste. It hurt me so bad, I've finally been comforted. Let's hear it for the World's greatest *active*Tennis player (i say active not to cause fight, lol)

And how Fed Express means business! 2 sets down against Tommy Haas and I thought he was going out in straights. Any, how he roared back. Two sets later and He's looking imperious. Now serving for match point. And he wins it.
R. Federer bt T. Haas 6-7 (4-7) 5-7 6-4 6-0 6-2
Meeting A-Rod or Gael Monfils next in the quarter final now.

Consistency is what counts over one off brilliance. We scored less than we did last season and didn't give out hidings at will. Who cares? We won the league, that's why inter milan rocks Italy and gets all the glory unlike AC Milan who turned UCL last 4s to a birthright at a time. Speaking of Milan, Chelsea have confirmed Ancelotti as manager. What should we expect? A brazilian influx? Masterstroke or Mediocrity?

He's not exactly playing wonderball right now so when did it become his title to lose? Going by form, he's not exactly the world number two. It's pretty open and me thinks we might see a new winner, maybe Murray

Funny as it may, Federer may not be able to take advantage. Pressure would be threefold on him now and he's lost his ice nerves.

Because you didn't win? Nobody won, more than 50 predos. The guy who won didn't read the entry rules so Akinalabi was right not to pay out to him. I remember even insisting an upward review of the initial 200 post requirement. This isn't his first open bet second actually, I'm sure it's not the last. grin grin

To be honest, i really dunno these days.
The Machedas, Meridas, Welbecks, Petruccis, Possebons and the Da Silva twins.
With proper nurturing, those players are going to rule the world soon.
Lol, Nah only United reserve dey come FIFA U17 cool cool? Since it's the post season, there should be no excuse for absence barring injury. Arsenal should also showcase their pampers pupils grin Davide Petrucci is one I'd really like to see play, I'm sure Roma have a good reason for raising hell when we poached him from them. If the other european countries don't adjust their youth policies, English clubs will continue to raid their best talents. Macheda is also going to be one to watch out for. The raw unschool talent is just begging to be moulded. Me wonders what Frazier Campbell and Manucho would do if he gets picked into the main squad ahead of them. Only pre-season form can tell.

Any news on the new shirt sponsors and jerseys for next season? I really hope it's not that V-thingy I've been seeing up and down Lagos o. Chelski are already wearing theirs and should do so again for the FA cup final over the weekend.

Your memory is sound, babes.
I remember Santa Cruz, Xavi, Diego Forlan, Cambiasso, Fabio Aurellio(Liverpool), Marquez, Damien Duff and Simao in the same tournament.
Was it not Santa Cruz and Maldonado that disgraced Naija in Lagos??
So which of the recent youngsters are you expecting to make an appearance this year? The above listed turned put nice careers and are still churning out the magic like that bros that gave Fragile X the cross yesterday.

Yeah, we did opt out.  . . oga Yar'adua said the cost was too high.

Then they slashed it and we went back in. Now, FIFA has complained that only 2 stadia are ready, the rest aren't. Overall verdict, Nigeria as a whole is not ready to host the event, and we've got one month to get things in order or lose hosting rights to another country.
The LOC put the colst at 32 billion, Yar'adua said we won't host again. They did a review and "discovered" the actual cost was 9 billion.  grin grin grin

Hmm reminds me of Ronaldinho then . . . . . . how time flies! cheesy

There's an african U17 we're struggling to host, lol. French Open is on now. I've been avoiding all sports sites to avoid yesterday's news  grin grin
