@ Cristalz,

Thanks for deleting those posts, A loss is no reason to get ugly with words. I think the tolerance levels for insults and personal abuse is really high expecially in the Sports section. A lot of other sections don't get that much room for misbehavior. Keep up the good work.

@sauron,

Sometimes, you amaze me with the way you retaliate with words, Is there no moral boundary that keeps you at bay? we lost, if they can't deal with it, they can always sod off. I remember the bs-fest after the Liverpool loss. This whiplash is even worse! Please, for the sake of maturity and courtesy, increase your censoring levels.

@Khanye,

Actions don't necessarily must have reactions. Abeg, get a shorter leash. The verbal jousting is making you look bad, whether you want to admit or not. If you want to be the one to bring Sauron down a notch, there are better ways to do it.

I think I'll stick to reading till the whole brouhaha dies down.
HealthRe: How Pure Is Pure Water? by Phony200(m): 7:58pm On May 28, 2009
emmydee:
@ Agbalanze
The purest water is Spring ,not rain water. Rain water is one of the impurest types of water. as it comes down, it gets mixed up with a lot of particles.

Water  from the springs is said to be the purest on earth. Meanwhile, only bottled water from, Nigerain -German Chemical company, UAC, Coca-cola, smithkilme-beecham, etc can be said to be safe for drinking and I advise everyone to cultivate the habit of drinking only from those sources. If you can buy a bottle of star, stout etc, you can also buy two or three 1 litre bottle of water for your consumption per day.

Thank you.
Very true. Ionization levels for spring water are the lowest compared to all other sources.

Thanks for supporting with evidence, As much as some people might not want to believe, Nigeria can do things to meet international standards (if we want to)
You're very welcome grin Nigeria is good, we just refuse to believe it.

Mai Suya:
Interesting findings, I must say.

BTW what exactly is 'pure' water? my understanding is that it's one in which the level of extraneous matter - which of course there will always be, no matter the extent of purification - does not constitute a health hazard to the individual consuming it. so in that case most of our pure/packaged water are ok.
Well, that's in the layman sense of the word. WHO standard pure water is one with pH 6.5-8.5, Low ionization content ranging from 0.002-0.2mg/l, Conductivity of 250 microS/cm, Hardness of 150-500 mg/l, No dissolved solids and very low suspended solid content. Most of these parameters can be tested in a regular science lab, pH, Conductivity and dissolved or suspended solids with a portable handheld pHmeter. Hope this info helps.

The poor What I have always thought of is that NAFDAC should get these sachets and bottle water from outside and test it over a period of time to verify who is doing it well and who is not cos if they notify that they will visit the company, the management would have put their house in order and NAFDAC will not get them.
It's pretty simple. Just put the bottle or sachet in a dark corner over a period of 2 to 3 weeks and see the wonders of biology unfold. If there's a single impurity in it, It'll all coagulate and turn green with time.
FamilyRe: Effects Of Early Marriage by Phony200(m): 12:06pm On May 27, 2009
TeskyMan:
Whaooo!!!! What an interesting Topic. Everything in life has its advantage and disadvantage IMAO. I got married @ 28 and my wife 25. We have a handsome BOY now who clocks 2 in April 09. I can say it categorically that MARRIAGE has to do with a lot of MATURITY.MATURITY as it is does not have any relationship with age. Despite my age, i have grown up ones who look up to me for advice marriatally(am not being pround its just the grace of BABA GOD). I have been praying to God since i was in SS3 about getting married early. One thing i noticed is that MARRIAGE has to do with a lot of MATURITY in the part of the couple, there are challenges infact challenges that might want you to look back but once u can swallow your pride, i mean swallow your pride and u can SACRIFICE yourself for your partner, and PRAY together where u r a chriatian or a muslim('cos a family that PRAYS together PLAYS together) i tell you,the marriage willl excell but the problem is both the HUSBAND and the WIFE will always have an excuse to quit.

Success of any marriage depends on the SACRIFICE we can afford, not by SHOUTING IT every now and then BUT BY ACTING IN THE SACRIFICIAL LOVE, these are what to be expected:-

Sacrifice is about forgetting about you.

Sacrifice is about closing the door on your ego.

Sacrifice is about swapping convenience for inconvenience for the sake of your relationship.

Sacrifice is about acknowledging the fact that your spouse’s happiness is primary and yours is secondary.

Sacrifice is about accepting a view you don’t necessarily agree with for the sake of peace in your home.

Sacrifice is realisation of the fact that disagreements will arise, but they do not need to escalate to quarrels.

Sacrifice for women, is the realisation that no matter how strong-willed you are, your husband is the head of the home and should be accorded that respect.

Sacrifice for men, is the realisation that head of the home is not synonymous with dictator.

Sacrifice for women, is the realisation that ALL men are born with egos and when you try to compete with a man’s ego, the marriage is the sufferer.

Sacrifice for men is the realisation that her being married to you is a choice she made and it’s your duty to make sure she does not ever regret making that choice.

Sacrifice for women is the realisation that you cannot understand a man’s ego because you were not created to understand it.

Sacrifice for men is the realisation that women were created to be loved, not understood.

The problem is that so many people spend so much time planning their wedding, but not their marriage. And if you think a talk about a subject like that may be awkward, then maybe the relationship is not as strong as you think or want to believe it is. If you had issues with certain things before the wedding, why do you think marriage will change it?, Humm, I have been wondering about this issue for quite some time now.

WHY DO PEOPLE SPENDING MILLIONS TO ENGAGING PARTY PLANNER TO PLAN THEIR WEDDING CEREMONIES?, CAN'T THEY SPEND SO MUCH ALSO TO PLAN THEIR MARRIAGEShuh

FOOD FOR THOUGHT, I know my N/L people go start to dey abuse me now, peace out!!!!
GBAM!!! Me sef go marry as early as she says yes grin grin cheesy wink smiley and my pocket rate is high enough to contain three mouths. If the issues of accommodation and steady incomes are under lockdown by the spouses, I say amen to it. Nothing beats being able to dance properly without Ibuprofen at your last child's wedding, lol.
HealthRe: How Pure Is Pure Water? by Phony200(m): 11:57am On May 27, 2009
I'm a student of Environmental mgt and toxicology and I had to do a water analysis practical course. I tested Gossy water, Eva and Ragolis. Their pH levels were remarkably neutral ranging from 6.9-7.1. Gossy was 7.0! Dissolved solid analysis was also very very low ranging from 0.001 to 0.010, again Gossy was lowest. Dissolved calcium and conductivity levels were also in line with WHO standards. One brand of sachet water also did very well. As much as we all want to believe they are impure, they actually are doing a great job. I stopped abusing those brands of water after that practical session because we compared them with well water and tap water using WHO requirements. If I didn't do it personally, I'd still not believe but I do now.

Precisely my point but then again even if these BM cars are jets instead of cars grin, MacLaren Mercedes & Ferrari should be placed right after them. What we see now is very far from it. Well, if you dont take yesterday's Ferrari performance into consideration. That might be a fluke of a performance IMHO.

I have been hammering on this issue since day 1 'cos both Brawn and RedBull are powerful in this area and will rule this season except if something extraordinary happens.
Nothing extraordinary will happen IMHO. Brawn will win both the drivers and constructions, Hamilton will get lapped every race grin by Mr Button and the feraris will score points every other race. I think it's now a victory procession.

FA chief has ruled that Man utd have the right to use any 11 from their registered squad. Anyone going to court about that should also lodge a petition to repeal all substitutions in football. Besides, why wait till the last day before looking for lost points? I'm sure Rafa the waiter also wishes he could replay Stoke home and away. The thought just reeks of desperation.

Tevez is not worth 30mill now. Third party ownership is 70% of the problem, the rest is the present economy. It doesn't make economic sense to splurge that manner of cash on a player. I don't think we'll see the ghana-must-go syndrome this post season and it's obvious why.
Playing the media will have exactly the same Ronaldo effect. Everything will climax and settle so loudly nothing worth while will be done. I think if he really wants to stay, he should stay away from microphones for now.

Xavi's the better flair player. Lamps rules the box-to-box game. If they were both to swap teams, both would turn out miserably, i think. All round game winning ability, I'm biased towards Lampard. He's so very consistent and injury free

Ferrari is fighting tooth and nail to get the budget cap removed. It won't happen. Every other team is just reeling from the shock of seeing the Brawn rear diffusers work so well considering that it was not really a secret but no one just paid it any mind. Methinks after all is said and done, a compromise will be reached with all the teams but F1 will never be the same again.

SportsRe: Soccer Viewing Centers - Should They Be Banned? by Phony200(m): 9:09am On May 17, 2009
It's about caution and knowing the calibre of people you watch with at the viewing centre. I remember the Arsenal Barca final, i left immediately Barca scored the second goal and stayed outside to watch the rest from a distance. Arsenal fans had been celebrating, drinking and taking pictures at halftime. Imagine the emotional swing when those goals came. True to my suspicion, a fight broke out that night. Someone got his head broken. In all my experience with viewing centres, all the fights have been Arsenal-related (sorry but my experience) or due to alcohol consumption or betting. Smoking and drinking even in a church will cause gobe if the sermon is controversial. That's what they do. Banning alcohol and stimulants would help reduce the violence. Police presence will only make it worse. I know a viewing centre that separates the fans. One team's fans inside the house, the other outside. Fights rarely happen unless someone trespasses. That also helps in a big, organised set up.

Hull should get a point on the final day. It's definitely going to be the FA cup team again. No point stressing dem champs ahead of our Roman conquest. Boro deserve to go down the way they've played all season. Hardly ever left the bottom 5! Newcastle, no one's too good to go down, that's what they'll prove. Both coaches are young. They'll appreciate the experience.
