Anni3e: I am not buying behind his back, I would tell him but I am not including his name. Do you know how many times I have told him to buy a land and start a project. He won't, he prefers spending all the money on his siblings. So you even want to tell him. Some women sef! Like someone mentioned in this thread, Nigerian women talk a lot. Talk and Talk. No action. The only action is to be popping out babies. A whole Nine good years. In life you have to be strategic. Someone is not living up to his responsibilities and you want to tell him you are rich enough to buy property. If you tell him, you will dig yourself into a deeper hole. People whose brain has been twisted by religion will tell you it is wrong to lie to your husband. They will tell you to pray for him and do dry fasting. Hehehe! What are you praying for? When God has given you wisdom and money to buy property. Apply wisdom. Invest for yourself and your children. Be wise. |

Unless you are a witch and you fly at night and have canvassed the length and breadth of a state i doubt one can say with all certainty that there are no homeless people in some states in this our Nigeria. It would be baffling if true. Even first world countries have homeless people unless there is something i am missing. |

emmanuelewumi: He managed the company well, the CEO who took over from him came from First Bank. He also took the bank to greater heights, until he resigned to contest for the governorship of Abia State under APGA unfortunately he lost
His son took over the bank from the CEO who resigned to join politics, unfortunately his son could not manage the business
Based on the acquisition of Diamond Bank by Access Bank, there was a share exchange formula, the Baba was also allocated shares of Access Bank that will give him substantial amount of money as dividends. Imagine! And i used to wonder how he felt losing the company he envisioned and built and would have passed down to future generations. Was feeling sorry for him. Apparently, you can win while losing. Nothing like using billion naira dividends to wipe your tears. |

ChybuzzDD: With Trove, you simply type in the total amount in dollars you intend to trade with, and the system will take care of the corresponding number of shares to that amount. Thank you. |

OgogoroFreak: But it's the reverse. Most women I know are better savers than men but mostly the wrong investment and they are very secretive about it. Alot of women lost heavily to MMM and other Ponzi scheme.
A lady I was financing through the university, sending her 50k monthly, lost 4M to MMM Lol. She should have kept quiet. Because when you tell people you lost millions in an investment, they will start thinking "sho! so this babe get money for akant wey reach like this!". |

OgogoroFreak: We all have a purpose to fulfill but death can come anytime.
But wait o... Are you really serious about this? Like, you strongly believe someone here would "invest in you" with their hard-earned money by sending you abroad to study??
Is there no rich person in your lineage? Why look for a random internet person to drag into such "investment"?
People brave o! Hmmm! I am sure she is trying other avenues apart from here. Sometimes God uses foolish things to confound the wise. Life can be funny. You never know where the help will come from. Abroad is not a guarantee of success but everyone's dreams are valid. It is good that at least the people she called their names have respectfully responded with advice that can help her. |

helpyom: 1. I MUST PAY BACK.. #Gratitude
No sir.
I WILL NOT DIE THIS YOUNG.
I have a purpose to fulfil in this generation.
Satan knows what I have in me reasons he just want to stop me via finances and stopping my destiny helpers all these shall be stories.
Am being motivated to keep striving hard..All these shall be end with praise. Perhaps you should consider alternative countries. I think Canada should be cheaper than Australia?? Since you have a BSc, you are young and in the medical field your points will be high. Then when you get there you can work and apply for scholarship. Life is not fair. I understand how painful it is to know that finance is the only thing preventing you from achieving your dreams. E dey pain die. You will start having existential crisis. And in life unfortunately there is no free lunch even in Freetown. It is hard for people to help who they know not to talk of someone they don't know. But there is nothing God cannot do. He makes a way where there is no way. Just keep praying and believing and save and invest the little you can. God bless you and keep you. |

As Nigeria is now, better for aspiring husbands and wife's to hustle and save. So if you can't emigrate, at least you can give birth in a foreign country and make your child a citizen. If that is the only legacy you can leave your child it is enough. I have a friend who is always lamenting because in the 80's her parents usually travel abroad but they failed to time it in such a way that their children would be born there. Nigeria reminds me of a ball of yarn that is so hopelessly tangled that the only solution is to discard it and buy a new one. IyawoToBe: They can go to college over there and then integrate into the country after their study. It is not as easy as you guys paint it. I will not advise anyone who is above 35 and has a decent job/business here in Nigeria to relocate. I am not talking from experience... I am talking from what I have seen and told by people who made the decision. As a young unmarried guy, by all means explore and try out your options. But when you are heading towards 40 and you have a wife and kids, the situation is different. ahiboilandgas: you owe your kids a second citizenship/pr,in places where dreams have 70 percent of coming true...top immigration countries are canada , Australia, new zealand, Ireland , germany (language barrier) |

thesilentone: The answer to your question is very subjective. Every one comes into the market with the aim of 'buying low and selling high' but ofcourse not everyone manages to do this for various, unpredictable reasons. For a start, no one knows how low is low. Your entry price is the sellers exit price. I'd suggest that you need more than this singular strategy if you want to succeed in any market. I cannot tell you which one is 'better', this is always a personal decision that takes into consideration all your circumstances. There is no 'one cap fits all' in the market. Thanks. |

Hello everyone. I am new here and i have started reading the thread from the beginning. Thank God it is not up to 50 pages yet. Just a quick question. So basically you make money by buying shares at low price and selling high or do you buy and hold in order to get dividends? Which one is better? |
