I don't know why I have this feeling that there is more to these philosophical questions, often it is as a result of something that triggers a great emotional trauma. I hope am wrong though.

The key words are

You decide how you spend your time

You have stopped working for money

You can continue to maintain your life style for life without working.

You money is working for you, making more money than you need
What could be better than this? Oh yes! Nothing. smiley

Do you have connections in SEC or CBN? It is quite uncanny that you made this thread two months before SEC released the list of suspected ponzi schemes and included MBA's name.

Does this freedom exist in reality? I doubt it. What usually will happen is that people you will now be stressed with wealth preservation or begin to provide support to your offsprings. The myth does not exist in my opinion.
emmanuelewumi:
It exists, I know a middle age man who plays golf on Mondays, goes to watch his grandchildren play basketball in school, very active in his church and went on a missionary journey to East African journey for a year

Another Investment Bank resigned to pick up a lecturing job which paid him less than 20% of his Investment banking salary

The best freedom is to have freedom over how you spend your time and not working for money. Even if you are paid you can afford to say the money should be paid to a charity, because you have gone beyond working for money, but doing what you love doing
Very correct. Wealth preservation sef is not even that difficult. And financial freedom does not mean you have to be as rich as Dangote or Bill Gates. Those are the people sef that are under the most pressure. You don't have to be rich enough to buy private jet before you can be called financially independent.

It is a relative. I prefer using financialy independent person.

It depends on your consumption, tastes, attitude, state of mind, relationship etc

Some people have a Networth of N100 million and feel richer than another person with a Networth of N10 billion.

A financialy independent person can afford to continue to maintain his desired standard of living for as long as he wants and lives without having to work for money again. He spends his time how he wants to spend it.

He can decide to play golf on a Monday morning, while others are battling with the rat race

He doesn't work for money again, but his money works for him and generates more than enough income that he can spend for him
Sigh! The best kind of life. Freedom from bulls**t.

FxManager! If you were the most honest, smartest, kindest, purest, truest person in the whole world, it wouldn't matter cos your reputation on Nairaland forum (not just this MBA thread) has been tarnished. And the more you talk, you make it worse. Even people who feel MBA is ponzi scheme see you as a scam. A good name is better than silver and gold. In business, even more so. When some people want to make an investment, they come to nairaland to check other people's experience. Imagine them coming here to see people calling you a fraud. Anywhere your name is mentioned, it is 'see that scammer!' All these things stick in people's subconscious. You don't have to criticize MBA to sell yourself. Better to open a new thread and advertise what you have to offer. Oyibo talk say quit while you are ahead. This time it is quit while you are behind o! Just my two cents.

Some people thought there is always a perfect environment for investment. They will spend all their time trying to dig out all the faults they could find before making that final decision to investment. When a colleague of mine told me about MBA in August last year,I didn't waste time to inform a close friend of mine but my friend was too investigative to invest his hard earn money. That is how I left him to his fate.Anyway I did my little investigation about MBA and decided to invest some cash.Ever since then the rewards have been great.Ending of this month will make it my 8th month with MBA.With the consistent ROI from MBA ,I have been able to do alots things -bought a percel of land in a choice location, paid my MSc tuition fee, and if not for the lockdown a car would have followed. Mainwhile during this period I have not heard from my friend but when we finally saw each other last month, the first question that came from him was "guy how far the MBA stuff you told me about, hope they have not gone with your money?I just laughed and I told him how painful it would have been if I didnt take the decision to invest in MBA.When I told him about the land, another things I have done with the ROI received from MBA,he was so full of surprise and at the same time regret. Now he is looking for a way to invest with MBA after wasting so much time trying to see if MBA would crash. Now let me conclude with this there is this wise saying I extracted from one of the greatest investors of our time ,it goes like this " When you want all the guaranteed profits including perfect operating environment before you can invest your money or participate in fixing market frictions, it shows that you are not ready for anything because what you are looking for does not exist.History only recognise those who ventured successfully or unsuccessfully, no place for onlookers and spectators, you choose where to belong.Markets only reward the doers, become one today.
I am glad you invested early. I also wish i knew about MBA when they first started cos the interest rate is mouthwatering and there is nobody that doesn't want to prosper. Now that the eye of SEC is on them, the risk has doubled. However, the coronavirus situation is somehow in MBA's favour because i doubt SEC will make any major moves against them until the pandemic is over and everything settles. On the other hand, the stay of action caused by the pandemic can enable Maxwell to properly clean house and immediately lockdown is lifted, he might disappear (if it is ponzi). If MBA is truly trading forex, then i pray they succeed and become bigger than they are now. I pray that when SEC regulates the Industry, they are capable of meeting the requirements. I also want to say that Nigerians don't really care if a scheme is ponzi. All they are after is that 'let me make my money before they crash'. That is why some people are cursing others on this thread because in their heart they believe it is ponzi but they don't want bad energy and panic to make it crash before it's time. Because if people stop investing or start pulling out their money, that monthly alert they are receiving might not come again. Some people even knowingly invest in a ponzi scheme and pray to God for success when succeeding means you are running away with people's money. That is how much we including me love money so much. That is how somebody in my office wanted me to invest in LOOM which was obviously ponzi. I told him that he doesn't care about me because if you care about me you will not want to dupe me because that is what is it. For you to earn, you have to take my money and for me to earn i will have to take somebody's money. When the thing crashes, the last person who put money will be the unlucky fool. That is why people jubilate when they invest early in a 'ponzi' scheme.

Nigerians are not hard to dupe
just setup an office, tag forex or the trending ponzis now which is called agro tech where someone sets up a farm in the village and hangs some banner, goes and buys 100k insurance for it and uses it to raise millions online in the name of agro tech startup

and our system nourishes scams very well, Government only steps in when a top official is hit, and when they have made billions
I agree with this. SEC is complicit and i have been suspecting them. Maxwell has come out in newspapers asking SEC to regulate the forex industry since 2018. He has done events and conferences since 2018 and SEC are aware all this time. SEC was listed as a regulator on their website. Someone in this thread mentioned they showed him SEC certificate in one of their offices. (abi it is CAC certificate they showed him and he is mistaking it for SEC?) All of a sudden they woke up and put MBA on a list. Why didn't you release a statement all this time? Maybe the Ogas in SEC are investing with MBA or MBA has been bribing SEC and they are no longer friends cos i don't know why since 2018, SEC is now recognizing MBA as unlawful. They even said "These activities are perpetrated by suspected promoters of Ponzi and other fraudulent schemes under the following identities" That wording is very strong and carries weight. If you noticed, SEC has not released a list of any suspected Ponzi/Agritech scheme. What they released was proposed crowd funding rules. Since 2018, why didn't they release proposed forex regulation rules? Why didn't they talk to SEC's of other countries where forex is regulated? See me see wahala. Is it that difficult to regulate forexhuh Just copy from a country regulating forex and make adjustments according to your country's unique circumstance or hire world class consultants to advise you. Since 2018? Haba. Even before MBA came out in 2018, forex has been in Nigeria and SEC were sleeping. What a Govt! What a Country!

I support you XtremeCre8tivity. Don't let people here bully you into silence. "Everybody is crying out for peace, no one is crying out for justice". Why should you go to their legal unit?. If they wanted to resolve the issue, the Mumuni lady would have called you for a meeting with her and other management members. They want to go the legal route because they have power there. The case would probably last for 50years or they bribe the judge and get away with it. Don't mind those telling you to sue. Legal route will make your pocket run dry unless you find a lawyer who can do it free. This is also a lessen to you. Trust no one especially the rich. Like David, they prefer to take the single sheep in the poor man's farm. Rich people are ruthless. That is why they remain rich. In her mind, Ani Mumuni feels she is wise. She has saved First Bank some expenses by cheating you. That is the mindset of big people. Trust no one. Next time let your lawyer be involved in all your dealings. May God fight for you. Amen.

The debate on this thread is interesting. It brings back memories of Legal TV dramas i watched such as 'The Practice, Murder One, etc. When the prosecutor makes his case, you find yourself nodding in perfect agreement and then the defence counters and you are once again left in doubt. Truly, i love the drama here. wink

Please tell me something I don't know.

How come "one person has 20 accounts with 4.9m each". How e take happen oooo.

Abi the person na Chidi of MMM or something?
Lol! That is what some people where doing with MMM. Mr. Airsaylong is even sidestepping the issue. If they can pay multiple accounts totalling N98m 15% why can't they pay a single account of N98m 15%. And the marketers themselves don't even understand what they are selling. I realise they have removed from their FAQ page on their website the comment stating they are certified by CBN, EFCC & SEC etc. The statement about 5bn insurance with Sovereign Trust has also been removed. Anyway, i pray for MBA because i intend investing I'm July. God be with us all.

I'm with the SEC lagos office and I can confirm to you that there's no record of MBA forex registered with us.
Good day Sir. I just noticed this post of yours. SEC Nigeria just released 12 unlawful operators and MBA Forex and Investment Limited was listed as number 8. However, the popular one is called MBA TRADES AND CAPITAL INVESTMENT LIMITED and the investors are confused. Is it the same MBA owned by Maxwell Odum that is being referred to by SEC or a copycat?. Since you work there, can you confirm?? Sorry everyone for bringing this to this thread.
