Hello everyone, Abeg I need your advice/opinion. I got my visa almost 2years ago with my husband, our purpose of visit was for vacation in New York. At the time we applied and got the visa we didn't have any relation or family in the US so when asked at the interview if we would be staying with anyone we said no. Later that year my sister and her family got their green card and moved to the US. Now I'll be traveling next week with my mom to visit my sister in Maryland, do I need to inform the embassy that I now have a sister in US and I will be staying with her and I will be going to Maryland and not New York as stated during my interview? I intend to go with my marriage certificate, change of name and birth certificate to prove my relation with my mom. Note: my husband has already used his own visa but he enter thru New York so there was no problem. I just don't want any wahala at the poe. Thanks. |

Hello michelleano and congrats on your successful poe, pls can you give me the cost break down of the hospital and doctor you are using. I am also coming to Maryland next week though not for birthing now I am a November mum, I am still gathering information about hospitals and doctors and I plan to visit as many as I can when I come before deciding on which to use. Thanks. michelleano: To God be the Glory, I got to the US on wed POE is atlanta, Information is power. It is good to read and go prepared with proof n with God on your side you will conquer all POE hassles. I used wheel chair, got to atlanta 5.20am, was wheeled to scan passport n snap then to the CBP Me: Gmorning CBP : morning, why are you in the US? Me: To have my baby CBP. : Where in the US Me. : Maryland CBP. : Which hospital in maryland? Me. : Holy Cross Hospital CBP. : where is ur husband? Me. : He is in Nigeria CBP. : How much do you have with you? Me. : I have $300 cash n have $10 k dollars in my sisters account in the US also with my debit card CBP. : Ok, hold on got my passport and I was wheeled to another officer he told me the officer will take care of me Me: I don know that's secondary inspection, my mind was at rest that I am ready for you too, hmmm When we got to the officer he put my passport n daughter' s in a file and gave the person wheeling me then off we go for secondary inspection, he handed over my file to the CBP in charge then was wheeled to a inner room and met some people there too, so waited to be called on, then finally the time came n was called on like 20 minutes after..... here we gooo Me: Good morning CBP : Good Morning, you are here to have your baby Me. : That's right! CBP: How much do you have with you? Me : $300 cash n $10k in my sisters account in the US CBP : Do you have any correspondence withe the DR? Me: yes I do, handed over my correspondence with dr's appointment. He read very well n carefully then nodding his head in satisfaction CBP: Do you have a cell phone? Me: Yes I do n handed over my phone by then I saw my sister's missed call cos I already called I was in atlanta immediately the plane landed he collected my phone and demanded for my sister's number then I showed him I already missed her call CBP: He then dialled her no from his fone but unfortunately my sister didn't pick up so he left a message and continued chatting me up CBP: how did you send money to your sister, told him dollars is very scarce in Nigeria at the moment so what I do is my sister finds out anyone in need of naira in Nigeria n has $ in d US, then I credit the person's account in Nigeria n sister get the $ in her account CBP : Do you have any evidence to that or can you show me the transaction on your fone I said ok and he asked, how long have you been doing that? Me : told him. By then he put another call through to my sister then so she picked up, n exchange words with her n confirmed all I told him, then finally he said I like honest and well prepared people like me then he said congratulations ,stamped me in till sept with my LO then gave me a word of advice not to take medicaid and asked if I could make it to the connecting flight or do I still need assistance so I asked how far the distance is he said he doesn't know so I kuku wait for someone to wheel me so he called them for me. While waiting we got chatting, hmm mm my fellow nairalanders the CBP's actually are reading about all our posts here and knows all we say about them, Na so he asked how did you get to know you can birth in the US, are you on nairaland? See mee oo, I cum dey laugh I said yes he said where did you read, part 1,2 or 3? Shooo! I said I read part 3 he directed me to part 2 that I should read that they talked about one CBP in there that sent a woman back or something that he is actually the one they were talking about Na so gist ooo, so moral of my story be well prepared and say the truth at all times honesty pays..... I appreciate all the info givers on this forum may we all not labour in vain over our adorables.... God bless us all n successful delivery for us ijn. Now chilling in maryland waiting for my first appointment with d Dr. |

Good evening to all mamas in the house, with great joy, happiness and grateful heart to God I am glad to say after 4 years and for the time time in my 32 years on earth I finally got my BFP today. Uhmmmmmm it was such a long and tiring journey but I give all praise and honor God. I did hysterocopy in August 2014 and iui last year February but it failed, one mama on iui/ivrcthread gave information about one hospital she used in india I contacted them in November, did all the required tests and was set to go to lagos for visa when suddenly my husband said he wasn't interested again, I was devastated I stopped taking all medications even folic acid, started eating all the things I stopped eating cos of ttc in short I was depressed. It even affected my love life with my husband, fast forward to February 14 this year my husband surprised me by taking out to spend the night in one of the biggest hotel in town apologised for cancelling the india trip which was suppose to be in February and informed me that he had made appointment with our doctor for another iui in April, we made up and had a nice time. My sisters the result of which came out to be BFP today. I just want to encourage all that God is still there, He listen to prayers and make things beautiful at his own right time, even though Satan makes our problem look so big we forget to thank God for other things that count. Jehovah God that remembered me even when I thought he has forgotten about me will remember and show mercy to all mamas in the house. So according to an online calculator another #teamnovember here . Pls o mama what is the next thing to do now, can I resume my folic acid now or pregnnacare? I be JJC o |

Thank you so much. I will let you know if I need anything else. For now I want to get all the required investigation done and process the visa. ManchyBabe: Hi,
Alright, regarding their professionalism they know their onions (good at what they do), the Dr. Jilla is also very patient, but it's India so pls don't expect anything fancy. I expected way too much, I.e wifi, etc, but it's just basic accommodation & all.
On safety, India is known for high RAPE cases, so I was very very paranoid and didn't go out at all, there is a Driver you can call to help get your meals or call the food companies for delivery. Eating in India was a nightmare, esp for someone who isn't adventurous with food, but you might like it. I survived mainly on Domino Pizza & KFC all through, to think I was meant to be eating healthy!
All in all you will survive it, trust me. It might not be as scary as I have painted it but all I gave written is the worst case scenario.
If you require any further info or need to send me an email, kindly let me know. |

I am considering using Jilla infact I have contacted them, I just want your honest opinion on their professionalism, safety of the town (I also intend using the Aurangabad center) and other things you feel its necessary to know before embarking on the journey from Nigeria. Thanks ManchyBabe: Hi phummy1821,
Am sorry for the late response. I didn't get any message from you. If its something you can ask here, i would gladly reply.
Do let me know. |
Health › Re: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by phummy1821: 9:10am On Nov 24, 2015 |
Hello ManchyBabe, hope you are doing fine. I sent you a PM, please reply I want to make enquiries about Jilla. Thanks. ManchyBabe:
, India is something else, Nigeria is Las Vegas compared to India, the hospital has 2 branches, one in Mumbai and the other is in a smaller city called (Aurangabad) it's a 50min flight time from Mumbai.
I used the smaller city branch because that's what my Doctor here choose, but if I had my way Mumbai would have been better, but the catch is the Dr. (Jilla) lives in the smaller city branch and Accommodation was free, my Doctor felt being closer to the Dr was better too.
The $1,200 is just drugs but it can be wayyyyy lower or higher depending on the patient, while hospital bill was $3,000 totaling $4,200. It might be lower or higher depending on each patient.
India is known as the medical destination worldwide and I saw that from the procedure I had, with God on our side.
I had to travel to the US 5 days after the procedure so as to be with my Mum for proper care and rest, which made me use hospitals in the US for my first antenatal and sincerely I will choose Indian Doctors over American Doctors hands down as the Indian docs know their onions.
But in all God makes the final decision. I know every mother on this thread shall get their BFP soonest. |

Thanks, I have sent a pm to or mail pls reply I have an important question to ask. nattybanta: letter to do what ? Yes any immigration office or ministry of health in Nigeria, always apply for your visa before booking for ur flight. Wat if ur visa didn't show till after d day u booked? U can book visa+ticket via same platform |

[Thank you so much for your response, i askèd the 1st cos i heard somewhere that i have to go with a letter from my place of work. For the 2nd question pls can i get it at any immigration office cos i dont stay in lagos. I thought i was suppose to book my flight first before getting the visa (a friend told me so) pls clarify more. Thanks nattybanta: 1. u need only ur visa and passport to travel to UAE unless you are going for something other dan tourism, den u know what else to get. 2. go to Ministry of Health depending on ur location, or go to Immigration u can also get it. about 1k ± depending on the means (but haven't seen where it's required for ppl going to dubai) 3. OTB means "OK to Board" it's a measure used to verify ur visa against ur pasport details by the airline u are flying, so wen u get ur visa, go to the airline tell dem to verify ur visa den purchase ur ticket and dey would update it to OTB status. 4. Ethiopian Air is very nice u got no worries. |

Thank u so much LadyG, I had 3 matured eggs. AF showed yesterday. I am just here trying to encourage myself. May God grant us our heart desires. LadyGuinivere: Hello dear sis. May your stay be short in jesus name. Amen Now to answer your question. The eggs pops within 36 hours of trigger.Though you said the eggs were already hatching at insemination time, nobody know when they actually popped so I'm guessing he gave you that extra 2 days as a safety net . You could actually get ur bfp at 12 days past ovulation but who wants to test too early and cry over a false negative. Chill sis. Jesus still de on top all. Outta curiousity, how many eggs were mature? |

Good day to all the mamas in the house, I've been a silent reader of this thread for sometime now but I decided to finally join today cos I have a lot on my mind that I'd like to share. We've have been ttc for close to 3yrs now and have tried so many treatment. So this month we did our 1st iui precisely on the 2nd which was the 10th day of my cycle, the Dr had to inseminate on that day cos the eggs were rupturing on their own even before I was given the HCG shot to trigger it. Now its 16dpiui and I don't feel anything or feel anyhow, no symptoms of pregnancy or signs. of AF coming. My Dr said I should wait till 23rd before testing(my LMP was 23rd Jan). My question now is isn't pregnancy test suppose to be done at 14dpiui? I pray God remembers us all and grant our heart desires. |
