Politics / Re: Fulanis Are Not Terrorists And Bandits - Sultan Of Sokoto by phylshan: 11:27am On Feb 25, 2021
Simplyleo:
The sultan is very correct.

Yes, there are pockets of bandits and criminals among the herdsmen, but calling all fullanis bandits is the height of foolishness and illiteracy.

The fact that baby factories are common features of some places does not make everybody from those places product of the factory. Is just a business enterprise.

Also, the fact that Evan is the founder of kidnapping business in Nigeria does not mean all igbos are kidnappers. undecided
But when almost every Fulani man seem to actively, overtly or covertly perpetrate, support or subtly facilitate terrorism and banditry, the logical conclusion would be that all Fulanis are perceived to be bandits and terrorists.

The headline is scary, but not precise.

There is no where in the write up that says she eats human flesh.

Even the sleeping with snake stuff is just in dreams.

Misleading headline, in my opinion.
It was real and not dreams. She would always go to the mortouries to eat human flesh. Got it now right?
Crime / I Sleep With Snakes, Eat Human Flesh: Kenyan Woman Confesses by phylshan: 9:03am On Feb 25, 2021
A Kenyan woman has come on Live Radio to confess to sleeping with snakes and partaking in human flesh-eating rituals.

In an interview with Emmanuel Mwashumbe and Shuga Boy, Cecilia Wambui, who resides in Umoja Estate, narrated how she ended up committing the bizarre acts.

According to the Laikipia-born mother of one, her materially impoverished upbringing pushed her to date well-off men.

“I was 17, and in form four when I met a driver who made a pass at me. Coming from a very poor family, I was impressed that he owned a TV, gas cooker and radio.

I eloped with him but we broke up within three months. I was pregnant for him but I terminated the pregnancy,” Cecilia narrated.

The abortion would mark the first of many, with Cecilia saying that she’s unsure of how many times she’s aborted.

From age 17 to 25, Cecilia said that she’s been married around five times and bedded over a hundred men.

“All the men I’ve dated were well-off and they were all ‘sponsors’. I have done so many abortions I can’t recall all of them.”

According to the 26-year-old, things took a turn for the worst in 2019 after she was imprisoned for four months.

While in prison, she sought to turn her life around.

“I sought to get saved and was introduced to a fake church where I used to sleep with spirits. I could just sit and find myself in mortuaries and burials. I joined the church in February and didn’t feel the need to sleep with men as spirits would satisfy my needs.

It got to a point where I was addicted and wanted to see gory images like dead bodies being washed in the morgue,” she claimed.

She further added that;

“They had brainwashed me; the pastor told me to give him all household items as they were bought by ‘sponsors’. They organized marriage with one of the church members saying ‘heaven had decided that I marry him’- we had known each other for three weeks.

Whenever I slept, I dreamed of the pastor telling me to touch his privates, and a black snake would appear. I used to enjoy it and felt it was okay. The snake would appear whenever I closed my eyes; I feared sleeping in matatus. I started getting sick but the pastor told me I should not go to the hospital as ‘God would heal me’.”

Cecilia then realised all was not well and left the church in October 2020. She also parted ways with her husband, who she described as being scary, as she would wake up in the middle of the night and find him sitting on a chair, staring at her.

Refusing to name the church for fear of reprisals, Cecilia claimed that five other women – in the church – were undergoing a similar ordeal. She’s currently looking for employment as she lost her job while attending the ‘cultic’ church.

Politics / You Do Not Own Nigeria: Ortom Tells Northern Muslim Forum by phylshan: 8:46pm On Jan 14, 2021
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has warned that the quit notice by a muslim group demanding the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Kukah to tender an unreserved apology over his Christmas Day message or leave Sokoto State, is capable of causing the disintegration of the country.

The Governor however enjoined all Nigerians, irrespective of religious and political inclinations, to uphold unity, peace and dialogue as panacea for the myriad of problems confronting the country.

Reacting to the statement, the Governor who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary Terver Akase said the group’s statement was a contradiction of provisions of the Constitution which gives Nigerians the right to live freely in any part of the country.

Ortom added that the statement of the group directing Bishop Kukah to apologize or leave Sokoto State affirms clearly to the fact that Nigeria is being controlled by forces which are bent on setting the country ablaze if their interests are not guaranteed.

He stressed the need for all Nigerians; both Christians and Muslims to set aside religious and other sentiments, come together in humility to fast and pray for peace and unity of the country, rather than the current situation where some persons are fanning embers of disunity and hatred.

The Governor posited that the Holy Bible admonishes the people to pray for their leaders noting that what is happening in the country at the moment is beyond human comprehension and cannot be tackled by President Muhammadu Buhari alone.

Governor Ortom therefore advised people who love Nigeria to desist from making inflammatory statements that are capable of heightening tensions and taking the country to the precipice of chaos and disintegration.

He said Bishop Kukah is not the first to speak out against impunity, injustice and the collapsing security situation being witnessed in parts of the country.

The Governor commended the Federal Government for quickly responding by issuing a statement to caution the group and reminding its members of provisions of the Constitution which guarantee the right of Nigerians to reside in any part of the country.

According to Ortom, Bishop Kukah remains a true patriot who speaks to give direction and make recommendations on the way the people should be governed in an equitable and just manner.

He insisted that Nigeria belongs to all its citizens and no individual or group has the right to threaten others and whip them into silence.

“Calls such as the one made by Muslim Solidarity Forum can only lead the country to a state of lawlessness which does no nation any good.

The Governor said in addition to insecurity, Nigerians should be worried about the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the dwindling economy which has seen the naira fall to 500 to one dollar in the open market, a situation that is rendering millions of youths jobless

He advised that attention should also be given to the productive sector, in order to create jobs for the people to avert the projection that more Nigerians will be destitute in the near future.

Ortom while noting that democracy is built on the rule of law adding that freedom of speech is also anchored on the rule of law, to the extent that it does not infringe on the rights of other people.

Politics / Ortom To Muslim Forum: Quit Notice On Kukah, A Recipe For Disintegration by phylshan: 8:27pm On Jan 14, 2021
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Thursday said Nigeria is being controlled by forces that are bent on setting the country ablaze if their interests are not guaranteed, a recipe for Disintegration.

The Governor made the comment while reacting to a quit notice delivered to the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah.

Kukah, on Christmas Day, had delivered a message titled, ‘A Nation in Search of Vindication,’ where he predicted the country was heading for darkness under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

But a group, the Muslim Solidarity Forum, faulted the Bishop’s comments and asked him to tender an unreserved apology or leave Sokoto state.

The Presidency has condemned the Muslim group’s notice for Kukah to leave Sokoto state.

According to a statement released by Spokesman Terver Akase, Governor Ortom found the statement as a contradiction of the country’s constitution which states that Nigerians have the right to live freely in any part of the country.

Politics / Apologize Or Leave Sokoto: Muslim Forum Tells Kukah by phylshan: 9:30am On Jan 13, 2021
The Muslim Solidarity Forum has called on the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Kukah, to tender an unreserved apology to the entire Muslim Ummah over his recent "malicious comments" against Islam.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the acting chairman of the Forum, Professor Isa Muhammad Maishanu, maintained that Kukah's statements could break the country's religious faithful's age-long peaceful coexistence.

"Our intention at Muslim Solidarity Forum is not to hold brief for the President, as he has those who are paid to do that; instead, our concern is the image and reputation of Muslims, which Mr Kukah finds pleasure in attacking without an iota of caution, and by referring to him [the president] as a Muslim, that automatically brings all Muslims [into] the issue.

"The Bishop has a penchant for speaking in parables and innuendos.

"His reference to a people who possess 'a pool of violence to draw from' no doubt is a reference to those he has always characterised with violence – the Muslims. This is a serious provocation.

"He even has the guts to say the killings we are witnessing in Nigeria are part of a grand religious design! Religious? Who are the victims of the killings?

"What religion do they profess? Is it not a fact that over 90 per cent of those being killed are Muslims?

"Who is behind the so-called design?" he asked.

"These callous statements are unbecoming of someone who parades himself as secretary to the National Peace Committee and a member of Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC).

"As such, we call on Kukah to immediately stop his malicious vituperations against Islam and Muslims and tender unreserved apology to the Muslim Ummah or else quickly and quietly leave the seat of the Caliphate, as he is trying to break the age-long peaceful coexistence between the predominantly Muslim population and their Christian guests," they noted.

The forum added that "The sensible and objective world knows the truth!

"We wonder how Kukah, who lives peacefully and comfortably in the heart of the Sokoto Caliphate, can make such a callous and senseless statement."

Bishop Kukah had in his Christmas message stated that Nigeria was on the verge of becoming a failed state under President Muhammadu Buhari but denied calling for a coup in the country.

Kukah, in the message, accused President Buhari of nepotism, saying there could have been a coup if a southerner and non-Muslim was the president and had done a quarter of what the president had done.

The Presidency had described Kukah's statement as an attempt to stoke the embers of hatred, sectarian strife and national disunity while the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) termed it as "reckless, inflammatory and unguarded."

But while responding to questions in Sokoto, Kukah said, "If you call for a coup, it means it is something that is not here. It is something that will happen in the future. So is grammar.

"So if I call for it, it means it is not ready. But if I say had it been so, so and so it would have, the tenses are entirely different, and I may be probably wrong, if you know better, let me know.

"So it is unfair for any journalist or newspapers to say that I called for a military coup."

You could be right to call him Prophet Gideon Orkar. He was able to see many years ago what is manifesting in Nigeria today... unfortunately, his preventive measures couldn't scale through... RIP Sir.

GIDEON ORKAR'S COUP SPEECH

Fellow Nigerian Citizens, on behalf of the patriotic and well-meaning peoples of the Middle Belt and the southern parts of this country, I , Major Gideon Orkar, wish to happily inform you of the successful ousting of the dictatorial, corrupt, drug baronish, evil man, deceitful, homosexually-centered, prodigalistic, un-patriotic administration of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

We have equally commenced their trials for unabated corruption, mismanagement of national economy, the murders of Dele Giwa, Major-General Mamman Vasta, with other officers as there was no attempted coup but mere intentions that were yet to materialise and other human rights violations.

The National Guard already in its formative stage is disbanded with immediate effect. Decrees Number 2 and 46 are hereby abrogated. We wish to emphasize that this is not just another coup but a well-conceived, planned and executed revolution for the marginalized, oppressed and enslaved peoples of the Middle Belt and the south with a view to freeing ourselves and children yet unborn from eternal slavery and colonisation by a clique of this country.

Our history is replete with numerous and uncontrollable instances of callous and insensitive dominatory repressive intrigues by those who think it is their birthright to dominate till eternity the political and economic privileges of this great country to the exclusion of the people of the Middle Belt and the south.

They have almost succeeded in subjugating the Middle Belt and making them voiceless and now extending same to the south.

It is our unflinching belief that this quest for domination, oppression and marginalisation is against the wish of God and therefore, must be resisted with the vehemence.

Anything that has a beginning must have an end. It will also suffice here to state that all Nigerians without skeleton in their cupboards need not to be afraid of this change. However, those with skeleton in their cupboards have all reasons to fear, because the time of reckoning has come.

For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state the three primary reasons why we have decided to oust the satanic Babangida administration.

The reasons are as follows:

(1) To stop Babangida’s desire to cunningly install himself as Nigeria’s life president at all costs and by so doing, slowpoke the progress of this country for life. In order to be able to achieve this undesirable goals of his, he has evidently started destroying those groups and sections he perceived as being able to question his desires.

Examples of groups already neutralized, pitched against one another or completely destroyed are:

(a) The Sokoto caliphate by installing an unwanted Sultan to cause division within the hitherto strong Sokoto caliphate.

(b) The destruction of the peoples of Plateau State, especially the Lantang people, as a balancing force in the body politics of this country.

(c) The buying of the press by generous monetary favors and the usage of State Security Service, SSS, as a tool of terror.

(d) The intent to cow the students by the promulgation of the draconian Decree Number 47.

(e) The cowing of the university teaching and non-teaching staff by an intended massive purge, using the 150 million dollar loan as the necessitating factor.

(f) Deliberately withholding funds to the armed forces to make them ineffective and also crowning his diabolical scheme through the intended retrenchment of more than half of the members of the armed forces.

Other pointers that give credence to his desire to become a life president against the wishes of the people are:

(1) His appointment of himself as a minister of defence, his putting under his direct control the SSS, his deliberate manipulation of the transition programme, his introduction of inconceivable, unrealistic and impossible political options, his recent fraternization with other African leaders that have installed themselves as life presidents and his dogged determination to create a secret force called the national guard, independent of the armed forces and the police which will be answerable to himself alone, both operationally and administratively.

It is our strong view that this kind of dictatorial desire of Babangida is unacceptable to Nigerians of the 1990s, and, therefore, must be resisted by all.

Another major reason for the change is the need to stop intrigues, domination and internal colonization of the Nigerian state by the so-called chosen few. This, in our view, has been and is still responsible for 90 percent of the problems of Nigerians.

This indeed has been the major clog in our wheel of progress.

This clique has an unabated penchant for domination and unrivalled fostering of mediocrity and outright detest for accountability, all put together have been our undoing as a nation.

This will ever remain our threat if not checked immediately. It is strongly believed that without the intrigues perpetrated by this clique and misrule, Nigeria will have in all ways achieved developmental virtues comparable to those in Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, India, and even Japan.

Evidence, therefore, this cancerous dominance has as a factor constituted by a major and unpardonable clog in the wheel of progress of the Nigerian state. It is suffice to mention a few distasteful intrigues engineered by this group of Nigerians in recent past. These are:

(1) The shabby and dishonorable treatment meted on the longest serving Nigerian general in the person of General Domkat Bali, who in actual fact had given credibility to the Babangida administration.

(2) The wholesale hijacking of Babangida’s administration by the all-powerful clique.

(3) The disgraceful and inexplicable removal of Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, Professor Tam David-West, Mr. Aret Adams and so on from office.

(4) The now-pervasive and on-going retrenchment of Middle Belt and southerners from public offices and their instant replacement by the favoured class and their stooges.

(5) The deliberate disruption of the educational culture and retarding its place to suit the favoured class to the detriment of other educational minded parts of this country.

(6) The deliberate impoverishment of the peoples from the Middle Belt and the south, making them working ghosts and feeding on the formulae of 0-1-1- or 0-0-0 while the aristocratic class and their stooges are living in absolute affluence on a daily basis without working for it.

(7) Other countless examples of the exploitative, oppressive, dirty games of intrigues of its class, where people and stooges that can best be described by the fact that even though they contribute very little economically to the well-being of Nigeria, they have over the years served and presided over the supposedly national wealth derived in the main from the Middle Belt and the southern part of this country, while the people from these parts of the country have been completely deprived from benefiting from the resources given to them by God.

The third reason for the change is the need to lay a strong egalitarian foundation for the real democratic take off of the Nigerian state or states as they circumstances may dictate.

In the light of all the above and in recognition of the negativeness of the aforementioned aristocratic factor, the overall progress of the Nigerian state a temporary decision to excise the following states namely, Sokoto, Borno, Katsina, Kano and Bauchi states from the Federal Republic of Nigeria comes into effect immediately until the following conditions are met.

The conditions to be met to necessitate the re-absorption of the aforementioned states are as following:

(a) To install the rightful heir to the Sultanate, Alhaji Maccido, who is the people’s choice.

(b) To send a delegation led by the real and recognized Sultan Alhaji Maccido to the federal government to vouch that the feudalistic and aristocratic quest for domination and operation will be a thing of the past and will never be practiced in any part of the Nigeria state.

By the same token, all citizens of the five states already mentioned are temporarily suspended from all public and private offices in Middle Belt and southern parts of this country until the mentioned conditions above are met.

They are also required to move back to their various states within one week from today. They will, however, be allowed to return and joint the Federal Republic of Nigeria when the stipulated conditions are met.

In the same vein, all citizens of the Middle Belt and the south are required to come back to their various states pending when the so-called all-in-all Nigerians meet the conditions that will ensure a united Nigeria. A word is enough for the wise.

This exercise will not be complete without purging corrupt public officials and recovering their ill-gotten wealth, since the days of the oil boom till date. Even in these hard times, when Nigerians are dying from hunger, trekking many miles to work for lack of transportation, a few other Nigerians with complete impunity are living in unbelievable affluence both inside and outside the country.

We are extremely determined to recover all ill-gotten wealth back to the public treasury for the use of the masses of our people. You are all advised to remain calm as there is no cause for alarm. We are fully in control of the situation as directed by God. All airports, seaports and borders are closed forthwith.

The former Armed Forces Ruling Council is now disbanded and replaced with National Ruling Council to be chaired by the head of state with other members being a civilian vice-head of state, service chiefs, inspector general of police, one representative each from NLC, NUJ, NBA, and NANS.

A curfew is hereby imposed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. until further notice. All members of the armed forces and the police forces are hereby confined to their respective barracks.

All unlawful and criminal acts by those attempting to cause chaos will be ruthlessly crushed. Be warned as we are prepared at all costs to defend the new order.

All radio stations are hereby advised to hook on permanently to the national network programme until further notice.

Long live all true patriots of this great country of ours. May God and Allah through his bountiful mercies bless us all”.

Education / 20 Benue State University Professors Fail VC Examination, 7 Pass by phylshan: 8:49pm On Oct 08, 2020
BSU VC race: Seven dons pass exam

A PROFESSOR who had earlier submitted online application for the position of the Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University (BSU), Eugene Aliegba, has withdrawn from the race.

Aliegba also did not participate in an examination organised for the 28 candidates competing to replace Prof. Msugh Kembe as vice chancellor of the university on Monday.

Kembe’s tenure ends next month.

The Nation learnt that only seven of the 27 professors that wrote the examination passed.

Aliegba, a professor of Political Science of over 20 years’ experience, withdrew from the examination.

An interview has been scheduled this week to select three candidates among whom the new vice chancellor would be picked.

Aliegba questioned the criteria that required the candidates to write examination. He argued that it was unfair for a professor of over 25 years standing to write an examination with another professor who has just two or three years’ experience, insisting that there must be a set standard.

“If a professor sits for examination, who will mark him? It is not done anywhere where an examination is conducted for selection of vice chancellor. What you do is select candidates based on CV submitted and invite them for interview,” Aliegba said.

“I have been in university administration for quite a long time and know the procedure for selection of a vice chancellor and from what is happening, it seems they have already zeroed in on a candidate. They should go ahead and announce instead of subjecting professors to examination which nothing will come out of,” he said.

Aliegba, a former governorship aspirant, told The Nation that he informed the BSU Governing Council Chairman Prof. Zack Gundu, of his decision to withdraw from the race and the examination.

When contacted on the matter, Gundu said: “I have no comment on that.’’
Only seven out of the 27 Professors who sat for the examination passed. A whooping 20 failed the examination.

It was gathered that Prof. Tor Iorapuu, who came tops in the examination, is likely to emerge vice chancellor.

Others who passed the examinations were: Saasongu Unongu, Ama Doki, Vitalis Tarhule Verlumun, U.D. Ikoni and Omudu Agbo.
