I agree you need basic money to start a biz. This days friends and family hardly dash out money to a dreamer (entrepreneur) who wants to fulfil his desire.

If you can't raise money from your friends, family and foes, try and get a job. But man, I'm scared, you might not want to leave your paid job. It's easy to say you will quit your job as soon as you get the startup capital, but man, this shit is hard.

"paid job" is one of the drugs that kill wannabe entrepreneurs.

It depends on your biz idea, but you need the basic money to startup a biz. And before starting, map out how you will start generating revenue in order not to run out of cash.

To those who said you will learn from your paid job on how to run a business are people who don't have the idea or don't know what they are saying.

The entrepreneurship world is a place where you learn and unlearn on the go.. Nothing is certain, what works for business A might not work for Business B.

Even if you read all the guides in this world in order to avoid business setback, you will still fail. This ain't a curse. What matters is how you pick yourself up when you fail.

You learn by doing and not the other way round.

They said business is not about passion, value, et al but about money and sense. Please don't listen to that advice.

The person who said that had no idea of what it takes. You have to put value first, before anything. In business money don't come before value. Same applies to quality over quantity.

If you don’t love what you do, I doubt if you will do a great job. You must be passionate. You can create a biz around what you love. It's all about thinking.

They said get a paid job and start a biz on the side. It depends on the biz, but man the stuff is hard. It's better to go all in than doing it on the side. Burger01: Nigerian governments don't believe in Nigerian education systems let alone sending their wards for a stint in such systems. Probably, funds would have been set aside to cater for ASUU, NASUU, SSANU, ASUP et al but trust me it's gonna take an eon for such funds so see the light of the day due to improper financial practices from NUC and education ministry.

Students should use this strike period to study for professional exams like ccna, A+, Network+, oca, and some management pro exams rather than just being idle. I recollect ASUU national strike some years ago while in my finals @ the university. Strike lasted 6 damned months. I sat for pro exams which landed me good job immediately after youth service..

Students, take advantage of this strike. Goodluck.

The school can wait pending the time your business grow, and if you build a great system around it, even if you're not around, the business will scale.
