Adolf hitler was not made in a day. We are gradually grooming one. The tyranny and impunity of this govt stinks to high heavens. I expect the intelligent elites like soyinka to say something like they did during jonathans regime, even whent things were not up to the extent of this govt, but what did see in return? Hypocrisy and double-speakedness from soyinka and co.

See another one, do you know the reason these thieves are still around? I'll tell you, it's because of people like you who either don't think before they leap, or are too proud to enlist the help of someone that's knowledgeable in these things or are just plain stúpid.

I have two friends that bought fake Samsung Galaxy phones for exorbitant prices because of their own ignorance and stupidity.
what are u saying? Are you all the victims of this boys has always been stupid? Do u think it a one month thing? This boys hav been doing this things for years now, how come no one person have been able to arrest or do anything to them, oga jack beuer?
Science/TechnologyWarning:becareful When Going To Swap Your Gadget At Emeka Offor Plaza! by PigMeat(op): 10:47pm On Jun 23, 2016
I jumped on a thread created by a nairalander that was a victim of the on going scam at emeka offor's plaza and i must tell u that what the o.p said is truely true. I experienced it first hand over two years ago, i thought by now they may have met their water-loo and quit such interprises.
over two years ago i had this LG phone i had used and felt like changing it for a new one, which is one of the businesses in emeka offor plaza. So i went to emeka offors plaza and i met one of this boys at the entrant of the plaza-the containers opposite the major emeka offors plaza, the boy asked me if i came to buy fairly used phone or swap, i told him i came to swap, so he took me to one of the phone's shops and i met with the dealer and narrated everything to him and he asked the guy that took me to him to tell me how things are been done, the guy told how they will test the phone on system to verify the faults and asked if i was ready that it wount cost me much. I agreed i was ready and we went for it...in the shop of this scammers they is this fair boy called oyibo-his color is albino related. I know it must be that boy that the earlier o.p met. They ran it and charged me N4,000, and i screamed that the given phone is not even up to that amount, and they said it aint their business, that the procedure is funded with high amount of money. I started begging them to help me receive a thousand naira from me, they declined and we bargained till they agreed. Reason is that i wanted to abandon the phone with them. So they took the N1000 for what they did not work for. When i was giving them the money, i rained curses on the boy that took me there, knowing fully well that he is a member and knows everything that was going on. This boy felt it and asked me to come get my money back, i declined and left without swapping the phone again.
My advice to you is that, if u are going for phone swapping at emeka offors plaza, dont allow those boys scan you phone. If any dealer refers u to scanning, then that dealer is not interested in the type of phone u went with. An interested dealer will go with u and do everything without charging u anything.
Anyone can be victimised, it is not all about been smart. I had done business in onitsha for 7years in my uncles shop before i fell for that.

bsaying:
Today, i decided to go sell off my ipad 3 and ipad 2 which i didn't frequently use,the ipad 3 has a cracked screen and the ipad 2 was fully functional... so i headed out to emeka offor's plaza from my place in asaba, i was filled with so much enthusiasm and optimism even though today was my first day of selling a gadget in a market like that..
Upon my arrival to the market, just at the entrance, i met two boys who asked if i came to repair or sell, i told them i wanna sell, they said i should follow them, we got to a shop and they asked the guy if he was interested and the guy nodded and said he was, then they said lets go and check if the gadgets had faults, we got to another shop and the guy said he would check for the faults by scanning with a laptop, he said it was #20 for each faults the system detects, before he started the scan i told him i only had 900naira on me as my tfare back to asaba and didnt have much to pay for scan, he went ahead because he had a plan in mind, at the end of the scan for the two devices, the total price came out as 17980naira...Jesus Christ i screamed, he said, bros am done with the scan and repair, i was like which repairhuh Immediately the whole boys started gathering and saying bros "give the engineer im money na"
My head was full, i was angry and felt cheated, knowing fully well he did nothing but just run a normal scan which i witnessed...
I continously begged the guy and the boys there, even with igbo language but to no avail, at the end of the day, the engineer who has been admiring my blackberry Z10 now said i should sell my bb Z10 to him for 10k and he will balance me 5k or i drop the two ipads and go to asaba and bring his 17k,they had already seized the two ipads and threatened to call market security, i ended up selling the bb Z10 which i had and went home with 5k and still didnt sell the two ipads.....
Am angry and making this thread from the bus on my way home...
Will i like to do business with an igbo man again?? No......
op, am so sorry. I understand your plight, i experienced it about 3yrs ago. I coursed the boy that took me there that very moment.

GET A LOAD OF THIS:
My marriage to EVE which turned out to
be a HIT AND RUN affair had really HIT ME
WHERE IT HURTS when she ran off with a
million dollars of my money one sultry
afternoon. It was a SHOCK TREATMENT as I had
always believed that she loved me. WHY
PICK ON ME, I wondered in bewilderment.
Though I know that sooner or later, I
would catch up with her, as GOLDFISH
HAVE NO HIDING PLACE and I always have AN EAR TO THE GROUND.
Her friends say she could not have done it
but BELIEVE THIS, YOU WILL BELIEVE
ANYTHING. Though I am not BELIEVED
VIOLENT, I reckon that she is SAFER DEAD
because she will have BUT A SHORT TIME TO LIVE when I get my claws on her.
CHAPTER TWO
After my recent troubles, I wish to HAVE
A CHANGE OF SCENE and this time I am off
to Nigeria, where they say anything goes!
For starters, I need to conceal my stock of dollars in a COFFIN FROM HONG KONG, to
escape detection by customs as THIS IS
FOR REAL.
CHAPTER THREE
At the Lagos airport, MALLORY picked me
and we drove to a hotel in some place called Ikoyi which he said is the best
place for enjoying the FLESH OF THE
ORCHID. Later that night, we attended a
P-Square concert and there I saw MISS
SHUMWAY WAVE A HAND.
I also chanced upon a beautiful blonde with eyes like ice on fire and looks that
could MAKE A CORPSE WALK. She was
shaking her body to the wild rhythms of
the rock music. I couldn't resist her
charm, so I went over and said, “WELL
NOW MY PRETTY, what's your name?” She sized me up and said, “YOU MUST BE
KIDDING,” but I wasn’t to be easily
discouraged. I tried another line but she
coldly said DO ME A FAVOUR, DROP DEAD. I
guessed her frosty response was because
she didn’t know I was dollar stuffed. As MALLORY and I drove back to the hotel
around 1 a.m. in low spirits, two dicks
accosted us and flashed their badges,
“Oga, wey una particulars?” one asked.
Before I could answer, the other also
asked, don’t you know that at this late hour its NOT SAFE TO BE FREE? I had no
papers so I decided to ‘settle’ them and
as I had THE WORLD IN MY POCKET, I knew
it wouldn’t be a problem. Yours sincerely
brought out a roll of crisp dollar bills and
THE WHIFF OF MONEY brought them to attention.
When I gave them $100 each, they
chorused “HAVE A NICE NIGHT, sir", and
saluted. Well, “I HOLD THE FOUR ACES
now” I thought to myself just as one of
the cops remarked “this one na COME EASY, GO EASY" and the other answered
“YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN".
CHAPTER FOUR
The next night, I saw the dame again at
the club and she was the centre of
attention. Mustering up all my courage I went up to her and said "HAVE THIS ONE
ON ME" as I gave her a glass of scotch on
the rocks. She snatched it and instantly
emptied the contents on me as she
shouted - "TELL IT TO THE BIRDS!"
I wished the ground would swallow me as I felt like a goddamn sucker. “Well, Chet,
YOU NEVER KNOW WITH WOMEN; its JUST
A MATTER OF TIME, she will be yours
someday”, I consoled myself.
“THERE'S ALWAYS A PRICE TAG and if it
comes to buying her love, I can use my dollars: after all, WHATS BETTER THAN
MONEY”, I thought further.
That was when Bagoma came up to me
and said “I am sorry about my friend’s act,
but some bloke once gave her the DOUBLE
SHUFFLE and since then, men to her are TRUSTED LIKE THE FOX. But you strike me
as nice fella, so don't worry, I'll put in a
good word for you”.
"YOU MUST BE KIDDING”, I retorted.
"Not at all", Bogoma replied.
Then seeing that my dinner jacket had been ruined by the scotched poured on it,
she gave me a fresh one and said “TRY
THIS ONE FOR SIZE.”
At that point, Vito, the owner of the club
(who obviously knew Bogoma) joined us
at the table. It then occurred to me that I could buy the night club and turn it to a
big money spinner as I had ideas that will
greatly increase the patronage. So I
offered to purchase it in STRICTLY FOR
CASH deal but Vito said “instead of selling
this club, I WOULD RATHER STAY POOR”. I felt let down but I told him YOU HAVE
YOURSELF A DEAL if you change your mind
and decide to sell.
CHAPTER FIVE
ONE BRIGHT SUMMER MORNING six months
later and after many follow ups, I heard KNOCK KNOCK on my door.
“WHO'S THERE?” I queried.
“YOU’VE GOT IT COMING” answered a
sweet voice from outside.
Well, THE VULTURE IS A PATIENT BIRD and
my pals say I am like the vulture so I waited patiently for the dame to say her
name before I went to open the door.
When I opened, there stood my beautiful
dame from the club in all her radiant
sexiness. As she walked in, I noticed her
long slim legs, curves in all the right places and…
The rest is x-rated, so FIGURE IT OUT FOR
YOURSELF though you might want to
know that I am about to LAY HER AMONG
THE LILIES of my bed and MY LAUGH
COMES LAST. I have decided to love her till the day of
our death and even when we die, WE'LL
SHARE A DOUBLE FUNERAL.

Mechanical Engineering!

What a course. What a damn course!

As a Fresh Mechanical Engineering graduate, you can get a job in

Accounting and Auditing Firms (KPMG, PWC....)

Banks (GTB, AccessBank, in fact all of them)

Production Companies (BAT, NESTLE, LAFARGE, CADBURY, DANGOTE, NBC...and the likes)

Oil and Gas Firms (GE, ARIOSH, SHELL, TOTAL)

Engineering Construction (JAGAL, SEVAN, METALMATE, SHI)

Consulting firms, and so many other sectors I can't remember right now.

Only Accounting(and related courses) graduates can challenge mechanical engineering graduates when it come to flexibility.
thanks for the info. Senior.

I wouldn't lie to you, there is. I have passed through both systems (poly and uni), my brother they are different entirely. What we do in the polytechnic is Mechanical Engineering Technology which is more of practicals honestly, university is where the real engineering is taught. MECHANICAL Engineering is more like engineering design using established scientific principles..from HVAC to internal combustion engine design, turbomachinery design and rotordynamics these are real engineering designs with application of engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. These courses are not taught in depth in polytechnic. Just to have ideals. But when it comes to manufacturing technologies, workshop practises, industrial maintenance, those are poly courses because they are trained technologists. They are not meant to design. Poly projects are mainly fabrication and construction, university projects are design and construction. As a poly student U can upgrade ur skills and have design capabilities but U need to demonstrate good engineering judgement before U can be trusted.. in my company, poly graduates dominate our drafting department and I feel sad when they are regarded as draftment instead of design engineers, this is because of their limitations even it shows in Dre characters and approach to issues, but we have vast ones among them which I believe if trained can be upgraded. Skill acquisition too is very important for you. Mind you some uni graduates don't know what you know, soo it's a question of personalty. I see many hnd.graduates doing well o.

I'm not deviating ...I love mechanical Engrn any day...and even if I had a second chance...I will still study mech. Nigeria forces you to look for bread everywhere ...you will soon understand what I mean.

My mechanic opened my engine on friday and I discovered that we can actually make engines in Nigeria...in not blabbing ...let me explain.

The engine block is just a container casted with steel or aluminium...the piston sleeves were just fitted into tight grooves in the block with a rubber seal ensuring water and oil dont mix.

The cooling water flows freely inside the block but the sleeve prevents this water from entering the combustion chamber where the pistons slide effortlessly.

I learnt how to operate a lathe machine during IT. And I can machine a piston for you, I can cast a connecting rod, I can machine a crank shaft...I can machine a valve and can shaft.

The only thing that is a major challenge is to cast the engine block because our leaders have vowed that ajaokuta steel will never work as long as they are alive.

So we just need to venture outside our field in order to start life. Nigeria is not ready for Mechanical Engineers...at least most of them.
it a good one senior. If u are opportuned to put them to work u will make it big. Why not try to apply for job in innoson? Probably put some of this things to work. U knw if it works u have succeded in solving one issue or two. What level were you when u started making use of the lathe machine?
