Steal money and stash overseas...make money and avoid tax while middle income earner get taxed at source.....some1 said--It's sad and sobering when one reads that the aid budgets in most of the wealthy countries are falling, yet so many of the rich hide their money offshore. Britain gradually becoming much talked about Swiss. God help us.

Business / Leak Reveals Offshore Secrets -trending News by pipeewa(m): 7:30pm On Apr 04, 2013
Going through the dailies this morning found this exciting news. Leak reveals the secret of the rich who hide cash offshore. The Shadow side of a booming industry. This happens everywhere in the world. The love of money sha! do you imagine why the rich avoid tax and shift the burden to the middle class and working class? Maybe when I join the group I would understand better
READ ON.

Millions of internal records have leaked from Britain's offshore financial industry, exposing for the first time the identities of thousands of holders of anonymous wealth from around the world, from presidents to plutocrats, the daughter of a notorious dictator and a British millionaire accused of concealing assets from his ex-wife.

The leak of 2m emails and other documents, mainly from the offshore haven of the British Virgin Islands (BVI), has the potential to cause a seismic shock worldwide to the booming offshore trade, with a former chief economist at McKinsey estimating that wealthy individuals may have as much as $32tn (£21tn) stashed in overseas havens.

• Jean-Jacques Augier, François Hollande's 2012 election campaign co-treasurer, launched a Caymans-based distributor in China with a 25% partner in a BVI company. Augier says his partner was Xi Shu, a Chinese businessman.

• Mongolia's former finance minister. Bayartsogt Sangajav set up "Legend Plus Capital Ltd" with a Swiss bank account, while he served as finance minister of the impoverished state from 2008 to 2012. He says it was "a mistake" not to declare it, and says "I probably should consider resigning from my position".

• The president of Azerbaijan and his family. A local construction magnate, Hassan Gozal, controls entities set up in the names of President Ilham Aliyev's two daughters.

• The wife of Russia's deputy prime minister. Olga Shuvalova's husband, businessman and politician Igor Shuvalov, has denied allegations of wrongdoing about her offshore interests.

•A senator's husband in Canada. Lawyer Tony Merchant deposited more than US$800,000 into an offshore trust.

He paid fees in cash and ordered written communication to be "kept to a minimum".

• A dictator's child in the Philippines: Maria Imelda Marcos Manotoc, a provincial governor, is the eldest daughter of former President Ferdinand Marcos, notorious for corruption.

• Spain's wealthiest art collector, Baroness Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza, a former beauty queen and widow of a Thyssen steel billionaire, who uses offshore entities to buy pictures.

• US: Offshore clients include Denise Rich, ex-wife of notorious oil trader Marc Rich, who was controversially pardoned by President Clinton on tax evasion charges. She put $144m into the Dry Trust, set up in the Cook Islands. read on frm link below

Nigeria we hail thee. Intl thieves are being pardoned. Local thieves are killed even when what they stole is insignificant. Let our president kukuma pardon all prisoners now. So we can justify his state pardon. Any reasonable person knows the truth yet we fail to follow. Feel like crying its as if this is an injustice done to me personally

The gifts wouldn't have been ill spoken of if our able Governor were not in power. How do we separate your fund from that of the state? That is why it is imperative our office holders are more careful. Most of them don't have good advisers. One would ask what good this bring to the state?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Pep Guardiola Makes Arsenal His First Choice In England by pipeewa(m): 3:04pm On Dec 13, 2012
Think abt this...MOU to Mancity.Though Sir Ferg wants him to take over frm him: MOU will soon leave Real Madrid. He still courts Inter Milan.
If MOU goes to City then Pep has just an option of Manu in EPl.
Arsene stays put. Who will sack wenger? the biz in AFC is of mutual benefits.
Health / Re: Doctors Cure Leukemia Patient With HIV Injection by pipeewa(m): 2:16pm On Dec 13, 2012
God be praised for the wisdom. Some doctors fight to save lives abroad above the cost of doing so. In Nigeria, when will hospital bills stop being an hindrance to saving lives? Do doctors still care for the sick this way for glory and not for the proceeds.

Religion / Re: Oyedepo's Claim That Covenant University Wasnt Built With Tithes - My Thoughts by pipeewa(m): 6:05pm On Dec 12, 2012
So many ppl are still in darkness so thick you could touch it. I came in contact with Oyedepo in 2003 through my brother who I preached to and gave his life to Christ. He started living well and came in contact with this man of God. I discovered He has not only corrected his ways morally and spiritually but also I tried so hard to meet up with him intellectually. He talks abt Oyedepo so much I had to try him out. He has a trolley load of Papa's books and other writers Oyedepo recommends. Bishop Idahosa, Kenneth Hagin, kenneth Copeland, Myles Munroe all this are great men of God and best authors sought after around the world. My life turned around cos I was shown the truth. What happens to me after I have given my life to Jesus? What does God promise me? Is it just to enter heaven and be wretched on earth? NO sir. They taught me all these and my life found a new path. Oyedepo taught me how to live a holy life to access God's goodness, he taught me how to love the Lord and my nieghbors. He taught me how to give to God, people, and the likes. He has tot me alot that I could neva have known today. If He did anything wrong I pray God forgive him cos he is still a man. But His positives are just too overwhelming to make me think of all the accusations the bad eggs spew out everyday. Maybe someone needs to try this man out and sit down with his books too. Each title deals with different life issues. It has really worked for me.

Politics / Re: Federal Govt, Stopped World Bank From Given More Loan To Lagos State Govt.. by pipeewa(m): 11:19am On Nov 29, 2012
Nigerian Democracy is very costly! Very expensive. Money allocated and generated in each state in Nigeria in other part of the world is enof to finance all projects in the state. If well structured. Loan..spending the future today.
Its very embarassing seeing some pple fight for the government with passion. In this same state we are all working, sleeping and waking up. The same governors that look for a way to defend buying jets of $45m amidst oda spendings, O God we wait for deliverance in Nigeria.
Politics / Re: My Nigeria Experience by pipeewa(m): 9:08am On Nov 28, 2012
God has given us all things to enjoy. Unless we rise up to the occasion and do something. The case remains the same. We have a voice and a will and power to change and turn things around. The revolution we are looking for can start from here. There are two ways we can solve our problems. It is either through war or systems. War involves standing up against the government in all strides, riots, down tools, grounding the economy to a halt until we are heard. The systems include teaching a great number of individuals how to become rich. When a higher percentage of a nation are out of poverty the systematically force the hand of government to do things right. This will bring all of us together in brainstorming on how we can go about it. Enough of writing about the ineptitudness of the government. We should take actions.
Politics / Re: EFCC Re-arraigns Ayo Fayose by pipeewa(m): 1:53pm On Nov 23, 2012
We argue everyday. We talk and talk now and then. We are full of actions on paper with nothing to show for it. If we are tired of the situation in Nigeria when are we goin to stand up and say no. We sidon dey look and claim some are not doing it well. Let this forum stand for a change today and see what we can achieve United. stand against injustice, corruption in high places, make our leaders acccountable to us in all endeavours of life in naija. If it could be done in singapore. It can be done anywherelese. Am sure we are not pushed to the wall yet. Stand today for what you believe.
Politics / Re: LASTMA Bars Junior Officers From Arresting Traffic Offenders by pipeewa(m): 8:21am On Nov 12, 2012
Wisdom says let all be extra careful. If you have been in Lastma net before you wouldnt want a repeat. Somehow Lastma instill fear in motorist thereby bringing sanity to our roads. One thing I noticed is that the senior officers listen to pleas and good reasons. God bless Nigeria.

Meanwhile check Timi Dakolo on youtube as he sings 'Great Nation' with so much passion. If we all are passionate about this nation one day we would all eat d fruits. Let's stop the criticism and start to harness our strength into doing something positive to make Nigeria a better place. Good morning.

Names are things and it can change your destiny for ever. If you do not feel comfortable with the name you are called change your name to what you like. Whether western or native as long as its meaningful to you and you feel good answering it. so many comments based on level of knowledge, IQ and exposure.

'Amukun eru e wo, O ni oke le n wo, e o wo isale.' kindly help translate this.
The problem is better solved if it's being treated from the origin. I discovered most of the Okada men in Lagos are not even hausas. Some are from Cotonou and Chad. They come in droves. Tell me why there wont be mayhem on the road. How many of them are qualified to ride those bikes. For now I prefer Okada to driving in Lagos...but with great insight they are not in our future even keke Napep. I was in Owerri and trust me you have to be a good driver to tolerate them on d main road. Our leaders wld have done well if better cushion effects are in place bf okadas are banned. We shd start thinking of our future and how to effect a change better than complaining all the time. It's not easy to rule joo.
Education / Re: Oyedepo To Lay Third Varsity Foundation In January 2013 by pipeewa(m): 2:16am On Oct 24, 2012
Tithe for all christians is a must as long as they obey instructions of the bible.Tithes are paid to the Lord through His servants and the tither do not require an account of how his or her tithe was spent. The things of the spirit are difficult to understand cos we are terrestial being. Its even foolishness to those who are perishing.God is the most supreme being he judges all things. So refrain from judging others when they do things beyond what you can comprehend as long as they have not stolen from your pocket, house or public purse. The poor we would always have in our midst even Jesus said it but its for every man to know what he can do to bring him out of poverty. this is what Oyedepo preaches.I didn't know untill I listened to him, read his books, listened to his CDs and I was able to come out of poverty meanwhile I wasn't a member of his church.
