Keep telling them the truth about the judgment to come. It is not our business to convince them. That is the Holy Spirit's job. I had a dream almost recently about the judgment of God. He was calling christians first to receive judgment. He called each person by their name and surname to appear before him. I tried to see the Father but his glory was so great that I could not look at it for a second. |
ExAngel007:I don't know about that. What I do know is that a girl about 15 years of age once boldly asked me to be her boyfriend. She requested to see me privately since we were at a public venue. Thinking she had an issue she wanted to confide in me or that she needed some sort of help she was too embarrassed to reveal with people around the next thing she said was that she loved me and that she wanted us to have a relationship. I was dumbfounded to say the least. Outrightly judging her was immature in my perception. At that age she was already ripe enough for wolves to devour. I gently let her understand that she should focus on her education and that she should delete that hope of me being her lover from her mind forever because it is never happening....not in this life. I counselled her then left her there. When I told my sister she was shocked and agreed that the narrative would have been different if she had approached those randy boys in our environment. So, stuff like this happens. I believe they are naïve and need guidance rather than condemnation. |

Buhari is evil with pride. Evil does not even scratch the surface of Buhari's wickedness. The kwashiorkor power supply whose bills have been increased more than seven times during his administration does not exist, he blocked the borders so that prices of foodstuffs have gone through the roof so as to give the North the monopoly of foodstuff while hunger ravages the land, bag of purewater is now ₦250 (more than 100% increase from what it was during GEJ's administration), a bag of rice is now almost ₦30,000 (or more than), in his two terms of administration he has done nothing...absolutely nothing...about the herdsmen killing people and destroying property, the corruption index under his administration has climbed beyond imagination, he is the most nepotic and biased leader that has ever ruled the country, transportation costs are flying to the skies... This man has already ruined this country beyond repair but he wants to make sure he does a complete job of destroying everything that makes the country livable. This is what you get when illiterates keep shouting sai Buhari while he pours fuel of hardship on them and sets them on fire. What a country. Increasing bills for electricity we never had...only in Nigeria. I spit on the leadership of this country. |
Exkandayee:Could you elaborate on what transpired. You could save a life by so doing. |
African Americans and some whites have been doing that — tracing their root back to Africa and no one is criticizing them. Now, Igbos are tracing their root which evidence points to Israel and some folks are screaming inferiority complex. If the Igbos have been discovered as part of the lost tribe of Isreal then it is worth a sense of achievement but it is not necessarily something one should die for. |
Dliquidmetal:to the carnal mind not set free from the deception of the god of this world, it would appear so... |
when he was spilling innocent blood and blood of enemies he thought he was untouchable. what a shameful death sentence. |
Dliquidmetal:for one, pastors are called to preach the gospel of Christ so as to be used by God to save souls from perishing. secondly, I can liken what you just said to the fact that despite the number of educational institutions in Nigeria a very good number of Nigerians are still illiterates. lastly, prayer is not a magic wand to make everything turn right overnight. where people continue to make the choice to install corrupt leaders despite knowing the consequences....you reap what you sow. prayer has nothing to do with this. |
kimco:I have provided an answer to this question in my last reply to LordReed. |
Kobojunkie:when Jesus said that the devil comes but to steal, to kill and to destroy (present and future)...was that a decree? when God warned people in His word not to receive the mark of the beast or bow to his image (future)...was that a decree? when Jesus foretold His death and resurrection (future)...was that a decree? when God, through an angel, warned Joseph about Herod's plan to kill baby Jesus and that He should go to Egypt (future)...was that a decree? when God foretold that nation would rise aganist nation, kingdom against kindom, brother against brother, children against parents and that the conscience of many will grow cold in the last days (future)...how is that a decree? Can you tell prophecies from decrees? It is not rocket science. Even then, it is written in Proverbs 21:1 that "the king's heart is in the hands of the Lord and He turns it wherever He wills." This makes one of the reasons to pray. Psalm 91:7 which says "a thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you" ....... is another reason to pray Matthew 6:10 which says "...your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" is another reason to pray.....and many more reasons supported by scriptures. Your second question. in addition to the reasons given above which make up some of the reasons we pray...we pray for a 360 degrees turnaround....that the tide of the war to ebb away. That is not all. We also pray for God's people over there. We pray for God to intervene in the conflict so that a lasting solution be achieved and that the wanton destruction of lives and property comes to an abrupt end. We pray that God sends help to those without food and shelter. We also pray that God should facilitate the migration of Ukrainians and Ukrainian residents to bordering countries for their protection... For your third question, I am referring to those who have genuinely given their lives to Christ. These are the only people whose lives can be hidden in Christ. |
LordReed:I am not attempting to support my view with empirical evidence. Rather, this dimension of awareness at best falls under experential evidence. Empirical evidence, in an attempt to study the invisible dimension, will always fail. You believe in the existence of love but have you ever studied the properties of love or hate or envy using empirical analysis? Take the intuition for another example. It is unarguable that the intuition manifests as knowledge without proof and occurs almost regularly in human daily affairs but does it lend itself to empirical or biological or chemical analysis? If it doesn't then why aren't you denying its existence? If you affirm its existence without the certainty provided by logical evidence what then makes the difference from others like spells, incantations, supernatural recovery from fatal conditions like cancer, hiv/aids, leukemia without medical intervention through prayers....? As regards knowing the invisible through other senses, there is no way you can tap into the spiritual dimension at will like you do this physical dimension with your physical senses. However, faith is the only door through which the spiritual dimension becomes real. Of course, since the spiritual world is out of the reach of scientific study the only other way to know about it is through experential evidence. Don't forget this. Since science is not certain of the existence or the non-existence of the afterlife all you are left with is the assumption of both but in your case — the latter. Eternity is too great to gamble away your soul on assumption. investigation must not always be empirical in nature because empirical analysis is severely limited to account for every phenomenon in existence much less those beyond physical existence. |
Kobojunkie:one thing will never change...that is the destruction going on the world through wars, famine and natural disasters. the Word of God cannot contradict itself when it says there will be wars and rumours of wars signifying the times of the end...and not even prayers can change this prophecy. however, one can pray for God's intervention and protection during these trying times. the world is heading for a cliff and the real ark of safety is not praying that it makes a 360º turnaround...rather, it is hiding your life in Christ. the evil and destruction like bokoharam, iswap, isis, terrorist organisations, ritualists, rapists, kidnappers, etc will even get worse but those who are in Christ have nothing to fear. |
LordReed:the dead are nothing but shells...empty of occupants. the real you is not a physical body with blood vessels. this is just a tent that is fated to be abandoned at some time in the future. we only get to experience this after death but many medical doctors are now of the opinion that consciousness continues beyond death having being witnesses to patients who have had near-death-experiences. some of this patients, while the operation was ongoing, could narrate accurately what transpired during the operation and said they saw their "bodies" lying there...to many it felt like they were looking at another person but they couldn't deny the fact that their consciousness and the physical form are but one person.... what I am trying to say is that empirical evidence is severely limited in determining what is real or true. |
LordReed:by evidence you mean empirical evidence. obviously, you are among those peeps who believe there is no consciousness beyond the grave since life after the grave, by its very nature, does not lend itself to scientific examination. i believe that in pursuing knowledge one should also be open to truths which the physical senses cannot detect. |
LordReed:And you think every phenomenon without verifiable evidence is outside the calculable perimeter of existence...? |
complexBoss12:There are billions of planets in the multiverse. There are trillions of stars all over the galaxy. The earth rotates on its axis causing day and night while its revolution round the sun causes the beginning and end of a season or year. If you invented a sprinkler to automatically water a garden at set times of the day and left it perform the functions for which you designed it then would it deny you of ownership and design because science is able to explain the components of the sprinkler and how it works? |
Amotolongbo:are you implying he doesn't pray for his country while making a show of praying for another country? |
GistFullGround:how have you helped those caught in this crisis since it began? let's start from there. |
minasi4841:insensitive and cruel being, as evil as South Africans are they do not subject their people to acts of barbarism like this. A father, husband and son wasted because he committed the unpardonable sin of flouting sit-at-home order. Obviously, Buhari with all his atrocities is an angelic saint compared to bloodthirsty IPOB and their supporters. May you reap the evil you have sown. |
So desperate to seek attention... Soon, she will upload her sextape and claim a blackmailer is behind it. |
YoungLionken:I was flummoxed when some set of intellectual toddlers where piping support for the civilian Russian dictator's invasion of Ukraine. Truly, if these same set of societal dead weights are always in the vanguard of the campaign for Tinubu as the next president despite the fact that the Buhari they voted twice has plunged the nation deeper in the sea of insurmountable hardship...hardship which defies any scientific or historic or moral barometer...then why shouldn't these same myopic majority see the invasion of Ukraine as a welcome event when the natural inclination of their cognitive exercise is always skewed to the left? You said it all. |
Karnice600:This post is golden. Mehn....Speak Out, chai...Frank Spencer and his wife, Betty...wow....all of them...You have said it all. Those days are treasures of time. |
Codeye:hahaha... You're welcome, bro. |
demarc001:100% ![]() |
fineboynl:There are others I deliberately did not mention to avoid a lengthy post. Willie Willie gave me sleepless nights, Superforce (superforce will be right back....just before a commercial), Sesame Street, SuperTed cartoon, Kunta Kinte, C.o.c.k Crow at Dawn, Voltron: Defender of the Universe, Ovide and the Gang cartoon and the list goes on... |
tunmoj:very true. Awesome days they were. |
MadeINchenzen2:Yeah, we definitely did. I miss them, too. I love threads that bring back memories of the old days and that also provide the opportunity to meet folks from my generation. |
Then, I loved the combination of Crush or Tandi and the rectangle okin biscuit (I disliked the round type). The days of 3T, Cleopatra, Bryan Adams, Bright Chimezie, Daniel Wilson, Kc and Jojo, Mc Hammer, Prince (now late), and programmes like The Bold and the Beautiful, The New Masquerade, The Village Headmaster, Jake and the Fatman, Touched by an Angel, Dempsey and Makepeace, Paloma, The Rich Also Cry, PS I Love You, Checkmate, Tales By Moonlight...gosh, my childhood was blessed. I am fortunate or blessed to have witnessed a beautiful and peaceful Nigeria. |
Lately, reports of ritual killings have sprung like grass all over the soil of South West which has become a red zone like Borno. |
