DM - Vitinha: Vitinha is arguably the best midfielder in the world right now. A master puppeteer, his ability to control and dictate the pace of the game will be important in this matchup.

CM - Declan Rice, the Englishman with bags of mentality. He will run, tackle, shoot and fight till it's all over. His set-piece proficiency is also a big asset, with van Dijk and Osimhen also in the team.

AM & RW - Jamal Musiala and Lamine Yamal: What do you do when you are faced with an extraterrestrial low-block and you can't pass your way through? You give the two best dribblers on the planet the ball and let them weave their magic. Lamine Yamal and Musiala will dismantle any low-block, even one from outer space. Their ability to manipulate space is uncommon in football nowadays.

LW - Kylian Mbappe: Mbappe is the best player in the world. Period. He is also a certified big-game player. Hat tricks in El Clasico and World Cup final. He now plays as a CF but we all know his best position is when he plays out wide, where he can beat defenders for pace and cut in with deadly accuracy.

CF - Victor Osimhen: So, I settled for Osimhen as my CF, ahead of Kane and Haaland. I love Kane but let's face it, he is not a mentality monster. My guy can't handle the heat on the biggest stages. Same thing for Haaland. They are both better strikers than Osimhen but we are going to War here and I need Mr Jagun Jagun I also feel Osimhen will be a better foil for Mbappe than Haaland, keeping the CBs busy and knocking down balls a la Giroud. He is also an excellent header of the ball which will be useful when it comes to crosses and setpieces.

So, there you have it. My World XI to save the planet, if it ever comes to it I know there are equally other good XIs, so feel free to share yours but REMEMBER THE RULES!

Here's my lineup to save the planet: Emi Martinez; Daniel Munoz, van Dijk, Bastoni, Gvardiol; Vitinha, Rice, Musiala; Lamine Yamal, Osimhen, Mbappe.

GK - Emi Martinez: 'El Dibu' is as clutch as GKs come. He has a knack for delivering in high-pressure situations. Time and time again. That World Cup final save from Kolo Muani is arguably the greatest save in the history of the game. If the game goes to PKs, I can count on him to make a save or two.

CB - Virgil van Dijk. VvD is no longer the unbeatable defensive Titan he used to be but he is still a Top 3 CB in the world. His experience, leadership, composure and ability to read the game will be vital in a match of this nature.

CB - Alessandro Bastoni: And what's a World XI backline without a representative from the Italians, the masters of the art of defending. Italy haven't produced a world-class defender since the days of Chiellini and Bonucci but it appears Bastoni might be on his way there soon. The Inter man combines the rugged defensive nous of a traditional Italian defender with the cultured passing of a modern CB.


LB - Josko Gvardiol: Gvardiol is a unicorn of a defender. This guy's potential is unbelievable and it's a mystery to me how Pep has yet to fully unlock it. Excellent defender with crazy ball-playing skills. He plays CB most of the time, but he is also a very good LB. His attacking ability allows the team to maximise Mbappe off the LW. He also has an eye for goal. Headers, outside of the box shots with weaker foot, chop-and-shoots. Name it.

RB - Daniel Munoz: The surprise pick. It appears the best RBs in the world also happen to play for the best club sides and countries in the world. Yeah, no kidding. The position is the toughest to choose for. Again, we are constrained by the limited pool of players to pick from. And to be honest, the RB position isn't the most game-changing position in the game. You don't need a spectacular player, just someone who can fill in and do a decent job. In comes Munoz, who plays for Crystal Palace and Colombia. Ardent followers of the PL know how good this guy is. He is an excellent wingback/RB, very good offensively but also capable on the defensive end. He is no big name but he's quality.

Trent at RWB is not the easy answer you think it is. For one, he is more of a half-space player than a width holder. Motoring up and down the flank isn't his thing and I don't think he has the athleticism for it. Wingbacks are also required to put in defensive work; covering ground and tracking runs. How many times have we seen Trent lose his man?

I have seen him play the role a couple of times and I have not really been impressed. Just because he is a good attacking fullback doesn't
necessarily mean he will make an excellent traditional wingback. There are nuances involved.

Salah poor output this season isn't down to old age or poor form, but due to Trent's absence to feed him with the necessary ball.

No, it's not enough. Trent needs a certain system to thrive and that is already asking too much. The question is, will Tuchel be willing to sacrifice his system for the comfort of one player, at the expense of others? For an elite attacker, that gamble might be worth taking but for someone like Trent, I don't think so.

The best fullbacks in the game rn are good on both ends of the pitch. See Hakimi, James, Nuno Mendes, Cucurella. All able to offer attacking threat and shut down opposition wingers. You mention Marcelo, but you forget he was playing on one of the most-stacked teams in the history. World-class talent, everywhere you turn. CR7 alone na +1. Put that same Marcelo on an average team and watch him get torn to shreds. Heck, he couldn't even hit those heights on a decent Brazil team.

Trent is not the only technically-gifted full back out there. There is Grimaldo at Bayer Leverkusen, for example. Baller. But no matter how many goals, assists and free kicks he scores, Spain will never play him ahead of Cucu. You think Di Marco would survive a season outside of Inter's 352? Heck, him nyash dey open when e jam correct wingers for the same formation.

I will rather watch all episodes then start imaging the plot holes and the highlights of the shows that is why I wait for season finale before watching.

When I binge-watch a TV show, I tend not to remember some scenes and which episodes they occur in and these memory blanks don't make me enjoy it as much as I should.

I know it's just a TV show, and not some work/assignment but I dey like maximise my enjoyment when I dey watch.

Most times, it's like i'm racing through the series. The episodes just blur in together and I'm struggling to separate them individually. I like to soak in and marinade my TV shows. Like days after watching an episode, I'm still going over it in my head. Breaking down scenes and discovering stuff you would normally have missed while watching at first. It makes the viewing experience more enjoyable. Binge watching makes that almost impossible.

The best analogy for Binge-watching is rushing a good meal instead of taking your time to savour it.

Another thing is how surprisingly injury-free he has been since joining Bayern. I don't remember him missing even one game due to injury. It's miraculous for someone who could barely play 30 games a season a few years ago.
