I must confess that if you sincerely want to pass your exams whether you are a below or an above-average student, you must have these 2 things as part of your character.

Today is another TGIF. It must not only be for merriment but to also add value to yourself, especially, if you are preparing for this diet's ICAN exam.

Odunayo Case

However, this day made me remember the last Friday in the month of January 2019. I went to a commercial bank at Allen, Ikeja to do a transaction, the queue was long and it was taking an average of 5 minutes to attend to one customer.

Well, since I cannot save time but convert it, I used that opportunity to listen to an audiotape on personal development. For we can never stop growing because life is always teaching us new things daily.

I was just 10 minutes into the life-changing audio when someone tapped me from behind. It was one of my students, Odunayo ('adjusted' name), whom I met at a conference. He should have qualified years ago, but that was not the case.

Odunayo talked about his busy schedule and how it has affected his promotion and life as a whole. In fact, he has attended classes but the nature of his job does not give him that time to concentrate. In fact, most jobs nowadays demand the hell out of your time.

Quitting your Job might not be the solution...
Just consider my advice

He talked about quitting his job to thereafter, look for another job that is more flexible so that he can concentrate on his ICAN exams. I advised him as follows:

1.You need the money to take care of yourself and your family. Money is the medium of exchange in the world and you need it like air
2.The job is not responsible, so take responsibility for your life. Stop giving excuses.

5. Stop following the crowd and be yourself.

The danger of relaxing at the battlefront

Whenever there is an extension in the way things are done, there is a natural tendency that you relax over it. Most times, it leads to project postponement, and then, abandonment. This is a very dangerous position to be.

When ICAN announced that the exams have been reverted back to May and November, a lot of students relaxed and said that they will take their time to decide when to start studying because there is still time. (If you are one of them, wake up...)

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction

However, for every decision, there is an unintentional consequence. That is, now that ICAN exam is 2 diets, it means once you procrastinate writing this May 2021, that shows you have wasted irrecoverably 6 months in 2021.

And if peradventure by cause of commission or omission, or circumstances beyond your control prevent you from writing November 2021 again, then the whole year is gone without having one thing to show for it.

Heart to Heart Discussion...

A couple of weeks ago, I went for a boys-out with 2 of my very long-time friends.

We were at the venue when Liverpool and Manchester United started the sensational Match.

Prior that time, we were having a serious discussion about _WHAT'S NEXT?_; should anything happen to their jobs, because the recent government policies and Covid-19 economic effects are already affecting their companies. Profit may drop and once that happens, employers will always want to cut cost.

Area No 1 to look for...

*The number one Area they All look at is their staff payroll*. I knew a tobacco company who laid off several of their staffs in November, December 2019.

So at the end of the day, what I advise them was that they can't control government policies or employers decision to lay off staff because they are not 'father Christmas'. What they have control over is to acquire more skills and start planning for their retirement.

In fact let me shake your foundation, to succeed on earth, you need to believe more in yourself. You might argue this with me because of your religious background which is okay.

Furthermore, that lack of believing in yourself is the reason why you still struggle in your business, career and interpersonal relationship. This lack of belief breeds fear which comes mostly in the form of excuses, lack of enthusiasm and lack of definite purpose thereby drifting through life.

It is the reason why you push the most important things away, it is the reason why you don’t add value to yourself on a daily basis.

It is no longer news that the ICAN Exams result was released yesterday. What was tagged as a rumour was the true date of the release of ICAN Exam result. So, if you are among those who did not make it especially if you have been writing one course for several diets in spite your studies and practice of questions and answers, then I think something is wrong somewhere. Because those who passed the exams were not super-humen with a special ability to pass their exams.

They are humans like you, which means that you may be making little mistakes or you did not attempt the questions in the context of the Examiner's requirements. 1. Time: Most students complained about the time factor. That is, there is no enough time for them to study. Do you spend it on social media, music channels, TGIF, Owambe etc, thinking you still have enough time?

2. Complex Syllabus: It depends on your perception. The syllabus has been structured and broken down into topics and subtopics for your easy "digestion". ICAN even went ahead to categorise them by percentages (weight of importance) in the syllabus.

3. Complex Formulae: It is the requirement of the exams. Let us be serious about it. According to a scientist, we are only using 5% of our brain. Come to think of it, those who pass the course don’t have 2 heads.

4. Nature of Job: You cannot blame your job because it is your means of livelihood. Without it, your family, friends, the community will not recognise you. So, you need it to live as a fulfilled human being in this world. Hence, you will have to devise a means to accommodate your job and the exams. - studying before work resumes, using break time and after work, plus while in traffic (if you're not driving), writing some papers instead of all papers - as every success breeds further success.

5. Inability to properly interpret questions: From experience, you cannot interpret a question when you don’t understand the topic. If you are the type that cram, then passing is left to chance. However, you can overcome this through constant studying and deliberately opening your mind to understand the topic.

6. Lack of Simplified materials: It is not really lack of material but lack of discipline. The ICAN simplified and comprehensive Video Lectures have been designed to help you overcome this hurdle. As you get started with your exams today, I am very confident that you will make it; your name will be listed among the hallmark of students who went, saw and conquered.

Keep in mind that there are some little mistakes, if not discussed, that can lead an exam success off-the-track. Little mistakes you must avoid before or during the exams.

As small as these mistakes are, they've affected the exam success of several students. As a Planet PGOLD member, most of them are not new to you, re-emphasizing them won't cause any harm. After all, repetition is the mother of perfection.

They include:

1. Focused Revision– please when having your revision, focus on topics you have read. Don't try to learn new topics because it will affect your flow and increase your level of anxiety. Instead, solve a mock test and revise previous years tough questions.

2. Sound Health– eat good food and ensure that you drink enough water. Do not eat meals that will make you feel sleepy in the exam hall.

3. Flee from Negativity Keep yourself away from all distractions and people who spread negativity. Avoid last-minute topic discussion if you want to avoid confusion.

4) Good Sleep Avoid taking coffee in the evening so that you can sleep well before the exam. At least 5 hours of sleep is great.

5) Anxiety- stop worrying about how tough paper might come or what question should come etc. Have trust in your preparation. Stop overthinking. Do not ask anyone how much they have prepared, it will just build your anxiety.

6) Stay Calm- After you have been allowed into the exam hall, calm yourself down. Pray to God and He will bring all that you have read to your remembrance.
