You must have been a "Showstopper," in the days! Chei. Naija women sha. lol. Walking up to be noticed, head swelling up, etc. And you see why in Islam, men and women do not mix together in Ibadat (performing duties of worship in a communual sense among the believers)? Just imagine how many bloodhounds in the church, if you even can propose that the pastor/preacher, a mere human being can even be "noting and getting swelled up!"
Still am cool
You can legislate whatever you want  in Islam,as soon as that man leaves the mosque,he sees naked women both real and pictures.
He turns on his computer, naked women everywhere.
He closes his eyes,he can imagine women naked.
My dear,he even knows that underneath that woman in a burqua is a naked body

Rapes still happen in countries where women are forced to dress in flowing robes
Isn't that proof to you that merely seperating sexes in a place of worship means nothing

You my dear live in New York
how are you "holding yourself"
since you are bent on having women seperated.

Walking with Christ is of the heart.
You cannot control what people around you do
But the Christ in you can help you live a holy life even when all the women around you are shaking what their momma gave them

It is good to bring in such topics as this one. But please, do not blut out anything when you are not except you are an atheist. For whoever wants to know, falling under annoiting could be stage-managed but it is real. For everything that God does, the devil tries to sow a counterfiet. Read the bible. God will never be in a haste to remove the weeds.

And I wonder how much of the bible those who are asking for quoatation have read. Literarily reading the bible does not reveal the hidden stuff in there. Believe you it will sound like jargon but when someone explains to you a part of the bible you have read for years with new meaning, you will not only accept if your mind is ready but you will be surprised at how rich the verse is.

Please falling under annointing is real. I for one have been in a process that I did not know how it happened but it happened. Just apply the principle of the bible with the least faith, my dear things happen. You may have to lay hand, you be praying without touching. In each case it depends as the spirit leads one.

The laying of hand is for some who will not believe anything will happen to them unless someone touches them etc. I can go on.
GBAM!
Being poor and destitute is not a license to cast aspersions on the wealthy.

As a young Christian I had been at a worship session with fellow teenagers where we held hands and sang and prayed and the power of God was so mighty that none of us could stand on our feet.
So I know this can happen.
I've also felt that many times in my own home while in prayer.
Christianity EtcRe: 'Sowing In The Word' by plusQueen: 4:20pm On Sep 29, 2008
dudu-bobo:
it couldn't have been a biblical culture
Remember the Bible tells  and encourages us to give and there are  various examples of how the disciples gave but no set rules how to give.
So it's not very correct for us to say what is Biblical culture and what's not in terms of giving.
Giving is giving.
I would rather categorize this method into disorderliness.
Our God is a God of order that was why he went as far as instructing  through St Paul that women not speak in church and ask their husbands at home.
Only God knows how noisy these Corinthian women must have been grin to attract such a stern warning.

Remember Ananias and Saphirah where the church sold all the had and put the money into a common purse,we have an example ,should we now say this is the way for Christians to live.
The only prolem I have is the walking up and down in a service, it is very distracting and disorderly.
I would not be in  Church that does this sort of thing.
I want to sit and be ministered to without people walking around.
My own pastor actually forbids people from walking around during sermon and I've heard of many pastors who do same.
Unless one has an incompetent bladder, I see no reason for grown adults walking around when most sermons here in the USA are just about 1 hr.
And walking around to give an offering is no different.

dudu-bobo:
this is the first time I am hearing this shocked

My people perish for a lack of knowledge.

Is there any scriptural basis for this "sowing in the word" type of collection?
In my opinion, there's actually nothing with sowing.
You reap when you sow, that is scripture.
The only thing I wonder is how distracting this must be for people to walk up to the altar so many times to do this.
It doesn't sound like a good idea.
They could have a collection box at the back where people could put in whatever they have on the way out if the message of the day touched them.
The way this sonds, some people may just walk up to be noticed.
Secondly this introduces carnality where the pastor may be noting those that walk up so often
and his head may swell up when people keep walking up.
so in any sermon where no one walks up,people where not blessed?
There's a better way to do this.

I hate clicking on links

Nemesis has caught up with a middle-aged teacher at Delta Career College, Ugborikoko, Warri, Delta State, after allegedly defiling a nine-year-old pupil.

The suspect, simply identified as Mr. Godwin, was last Wednesday arrested and detained at the ‘A’ Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police. Nigerian Tribune learnt that the incident took place last Tuesday during school hours.

It was gathered that when, at about 6.30 p.m., the girl had not returned from school, the mother, Grace Akani, became worried and alerted the motorcycle rider who usually took her to and from school.

But the motorcycle rider claimed that he did not see her at school, thinking that she must have made an alternative arrangement to go home.

Akani told the Nigerian Tribune in an interview that while still comtemplating on what could have gone wrong, her GSM phone rang at about 7.00 p.m. with a man who identified himself as Godwin telling her that the girl was with him and that she should personally come to fetch her.

On getting to the school, she met her daughter with two other teachers with Mr. Godwin trying to calm her child down. According to Mrs. Akani, she left with her child in a taxi cab and on their way enquired from her daughter what was going on between her and Mr. Godwin but she refused to say anything which aroused her suspicion.

“When we got home she ate and when it was time to take her bath, I asked her to UnCloth and my worst fears were confirmed—she had been defiled most brutally and her private part stocked up with tissue papers,” she said amidst tears.

She said the girl could not have her bath that night and was taken to the Central Hospital, Warri, for examination where it was confirmed that she had been disvirgined and had sustained injuries.

The nine-year-old girl later spilled the beans when her mother promised to take her to the police for protection. Police from the ‘A’ Division later went with the girl’s mother to pick Mr. Godwin, whose arrest was resisted by some teachers until the intervention of the Assistant Principal, who ordered that he be taken to the station for questioning.

The Divisional Police Officer in-charge of the division, Mr. Paddy Ogon, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the arrest and detention, saying that full investigation into the matter had commenced.

Amusing it is too, that that of all the highly qualified, educated and professional women that America has to offer, the Macain campaign team could find no better female vice-president than this piteous, semi-literate trailer-park buffoon who recently cited the close geographical proximity of Russia to Alaska as being indicative of her foreign policy experience and prowess.

sorry, let me edit to correct typos! cheesy

Nne plus_Queen,

I just dey! I want to thank you all for your prayers - na now gaaan my eyes open to see how much you all have been praying for me!!

Do you know how many people have written me since we last emailed each other? Long tory short: "Seifa" finally found the love of Jesus Christ!! What is more, she asked me to come take her to church - and I did (although we both got there late and had to stay on for second service). After worship as we went over to hers, she sternly warned me to not engage Muslims in any arguments! My sis, that very warning has continued to pay off, especially because as reindeer said in another thread, testimonies of one's salvation achieve more than shouts across the divide. That is what again we heard in Church, and "Seifa" reminded me constantly about it! I asked if I could share this, and she agreed (although I let her know I would not use her real name).

Haa!! Jesus is truly Lord.

Me, I don finish with arguements - if na only one soul comes genuinely to Christ with the power of what Christ has done, that one is enough!!

Jesus is Lord O! Please join me in celebrating!
That is my prayer too.
Since now I know for sure, they lead no where.I ask God to help me resist it when my inlaw Olabs begins his father son and Ghost arguments.
It's very tempting to set him straight until one realizes that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal weapons.

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for Seifa and others like her.
This is just the beginning.
My sister this has made my week already
With your permission,I'll love to post your testimony in another forum.I know it will not only lead to convictions for unbelievers but it'll also sharpen believers.
That's what it did for me.
I realize that I cannot convert anyone.
Only the Holy Ghost can

May God continue to guide you as ypu disciple this precious one
There is great joy in heaven right now for this new child of God.
She can now boldly call God her father.

I greet everyone in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Everyday I wake up and I see the bright morning sun and being able to come to Nairaland and share my thoughts, I always give glory to God Almighty the creator of Heaven and Earth the beginning and the end. It is written in Revelations 22:13 that He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the end, the First and the Last. To Him I give all the glory and honour for keeping me alive. For it is not by power or by might I am still here but by the spirit of the most High God.
In good or bad situations we should always give thanks to the Most High God because He said when He starts a work, He must surely finish it. God is the only solution to anything we face today. There is nothing impossible before Him to those who believe.
Keep on worshipping and praying to God and He will never disappoint you for He is not a man that will promise and fail.
I greet you too in Jesus' name.
I thank God for his financial provisions to me and my household even in this hard economic times.
God will always take care of those who put their trust in him and he has blessed us more abundantly in these times than ever before
and I pray for the same blessings on anyone who will dare to trust and obey his word especially when he says give and it shall be given to you.
He is worthy to be praised and adored.

If it were my words,I would have been called a hater.
Read it for yourselves.
The plan of Islam which a nairalander posted here on this forum.

I think Muslims of the 21st century leave the most important issues out. These includes:
1. The importance of having an Islamic state
2. The way of truimph over the dictatorship regimes
3. The enforcement of the Sharia and an Islamic Order.
And many more things, we're less concerned about our brothers in Iraq, Pakistan and other Muslim terriorities. No Caliph nothing! All we see the so called rightly guided sheiks talk about is women should not drive, women should sit at home, women should not moderate on nairaland. They leave aside the important issues and make so much emphasizes on trivial matters.
that is their primary goal.
I said it several times and got called names
If anyone wants to know what the life of non Muslims will be like under a sharia state
all you need is use google and you'll read it for yourself.

Or look towards Saudi and Pakistan.
You heard it from the horse's mouth.
Their plan
Their words
not mine.
To be fore-warned is to be fore-armed.
Their mission is clear.
If you didn't hear me say it and abuses rained on me, now you've heard them admit it

@davidylan,
I have chosen to not waste my time on an issue that people are so passionately idealogue that you can not make a sensisble point to change anything. A while back, you agreed with me that the only reason that Obama is where he is today, is because he is Black. Now that you have done a flip-flop, how do you expect me to approach that.

Food for thought.

Obama, a black man has locked in over 95% of the Black vote while McCain, a white man has less than 5%.
Obama, a black man and McCain, a white man are equally competing for the White vote.

Considering the above fact, who do you think is a victim of RACE here? Let the facts speak this time and not your passion and prejudice. And believe me, I'll excuse myself from this discussion if you can't deal with issues without addressing my person.
I knew you'll come back  and say this
I was actually waiting for it
This almost sounds like what a kkk would say.
The population of blacks is 12% my dear
so how many people are you really talking about when compared to the black population?
what ever advancements the blacks have enjoyed especially affirmative action, under  whose administrations did they get it?
Would you want them to throw that away?

Uncle Tayo, sorry but just to inform you that i made a point to stop the pointless, factless and irrelevant back and forth with you and ~Lady~. You both are more empty emotional bluster and no substance.

Here is a case in point - you were very emphatic here proclaiming that Palin was more qualified than Obama on the basis of 18 months as governor of Alaska . . . now Americans know better.

Another case in point -

I think the last poll showing that racism is the sole reason Obama isnt leading by double digits has been exhaustively debated on this section. The debate was made more prominent by your conspicous absence.

You can continue with your usual offpoint comments.
It'll be very dishonest for any minority living here in America who must have felt the effects of racism not to acknowledge this.
We don't want to give an impression that all Americans suddenly look beyond race when the office of  presidency is concerned.
Foreign AffairsRe: Countdown To The First Presidential Debate On Friday! by plusQueen: 4:49am On Sep 27, 2008
Americans are no fools, and that is why Obama is not leading double digit now despite Bush's failings for the past 8 years. In this I agree with you. By the way, you can go on CNN and check the facts checker out. That Obama says its not true does not make it not true. Obama himself is a bloody liar, which is not surprising considering all Politicians are like that.
Honey we live in a country that just started to let blacks vote the other day.
The black population on America is 12% remember?
Race is still very much a factor in this country,if not my own husband would be the Chair of his dept. grin
Never forget that there are a group of people that'll not vote for Obama because of his skin color.
We cannot deny that fact.
The fact that he leads in the polls is actually a miracle and a testament that he's obviously an excellent candidate
Because had he been white and the race thing made irrelevant,we won't even be having this conversation.

There are folks even here where I live that'll rather be led to hell by a fellow white man than to heaven by a negro.
I hope they don't burn down my house when I mount my Obama poster in my front lawn(If oga permits)
That is something you cannot deny.

@plus_Queen,
He did that not just once, but consistently even when McCain was refering to him as Snator. This shows nothing but arrogance. It was the same arrogance he's had all along that has kept him in trouble with rural America and Palin.
Please list the lies.

tWhy don't you list them.
He was just stressing his experience and dwelling on his strong point. Obama on the other hand, didn't have one strong point.
Like McCain said, the next President is not going to undo the decision of going to war in Iraq, but will have ot handle how the war is fought. So far, McCain has shown better judgement on that.
Obama voted almost 50% with Bush and Biden voted over 50% with Bush. Your point?
Unfortunately, he didn't have his teleprompter at the debate.  grin
He shared his record during the debate. You seriously believe this?
Of course, those who disagree with you are fools.
50% is an E
90% is an A wink
