My marriage to a beautiful Igbo Princess

Zainab, is a prince from the royal family of Owerri. She used to hate Islamic call to prayer which she said used to give her headache in addition to bringing sadness. She hated to see people making ablution in preparation to prayers. That gives her skin itches and complete miserablility. And we met in March 2006, and evry changd for her. My first statement to her was that she is beautiful, but as i would love to marry her, I jut do not want to marry another Christian. To my surprise, right away, she said she would convert because it is a way to worship One God without having to go through any one else.

She is right. Today, she is a good woman, in Islam. involved in worldwide charitable events. I am greatful to God Almighty who has shown His favor on my beloved mother and my beloved wife, Zainab "Ndidi Ada."
My dear now you are around my territory.
There is no royal family of Owerri.
Did you marry an Njemanze ?
I know some of them
There is no royal family in Igboland.
Igbos never had monarchs.
That term is non existent in Igboland.
Chieftaincy is not royalty.
Any body including 419 ers can have them.
So cut that term out.
I can get 3 chieftancy titles this Christmas if I wanted to grin
Is that what they told you in order to charge you a higher dowry grin
that you were marrying royalty.

my sister there's just some things that make absolutely no sense.
How possible is it that a grown man that could be a grandfather who was brought up by a Christian mother, would not know what church his mom went to every week for perhaps 70 years of her life. There are just some things that one is not consciously taught. You just know.
My parents never sat me down to say, baby girl,we are Igbos and you are female.I just knew as I grew up what I was.
And even though I didn't accompany my mom and dad to work daily or even weekly,I knew what they did and  exactl where they went to work daily.
There are just some stories that just dey me one kain.

Me I definitely don't support ashewo work o but why should a professional ashewo leave the shores of Nigeria only to be grabbing homeless men and lunatics on the streets on Denmark?
Italy is one country I don't ever plan to visit with the way these whores have spoilt the name of Nigerian women, I don't people want people to be guessing how much I go for while I'm just walking down the street.

This is terrible.

The news of the convertion of my mother to Islam.

Few years had passed. And 2006 arrived. I joined Nairaland because of Havila's ill reatment of Mukina2. At this that was the reason I joined. I actually stumbled on Nairaland on Nigeria.com website. The Ramadan of 2006, my older sister and her husbands and children informed me that mom had became a muslim. I was thinking that they were playing an expensive joke on me. Soon enough my mother greeted with salaamaualaykum. I responded and jokingly ask that if she was a cHristian she should not hide it from me and that i was okay by it. I reminded her that afterall, I would her to be a goof woman who deserved everything that she hoped for.

She said to me that she had actually reverted to Islam. At this time I told her she should not do it for me, except that she does it for the pleasure of Allah. She finally convinced me when she slaughtered in 2007! My mother up to the time we had our conversation was a devoted anglican of the methodist sect. Allah brought her to light even as she was married to my "powerful father," who did not even discuss Islam with her.
I'll leave other Christians to comment on that highlighted part.
I don't know whether to laugh or to get me a bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream grin

Nigerian prostitutes stormed Denmark

by Harry Nasir Dirisu.

Prostitution is an old profession in the history of humanity they say – it has being a controversial topic of discussion – societies around the world have different views about it underpinned by cultural, religion or ethical orientation. And individualistically, people also have their respective opinion when you mention prostitution to them.

Nigerian prostitutes have stormed and hijacked Istergade, a popular street beside Copenhagen central station, Denmark – a street known for its pornographic pictures, drug addicts’ domicile, petty drug racketeers’ paradise and so on – the girls have consolidated and converted the place to Edo night market of prostitution trade.

They clinch around there in flock every night scrambling for customers like hungry ferocious lions. Some are so fierce that they grab passers-by confronting them with all sorts of sexual offers.

This boils down to different kinds of customers: men having physical or mental difficulties, old, young, slim, fat and generally unattractive disgusting people. Some disgruntled clients pay money to abuse them. These girls have opportunities to strive in many other walks of life.

However, the Danish police are not turning deaf ears to the illicit trade. I watched a documentary program recently on how Nigerian girls are being confronted at Copenhagen airport with a notion that they are coming prostitute in Denmark. What an image! Or an insult! Flights from Italy are usually the main targets

Prostitution by law is not illegal in Denmark but street prostitution is, paying somebody below the age of eighteen for any form of sexual intimacy is illegal. But, a prostitute should be registered in order to pay tax. They are not entitled to benefits or incentives other professions enjoy, for instance, financial support in case of sickness, retirement savings, labour union support etc.

There is a big contrast between Denmark and other Nordic countries in this regard: Sweden enacted law in 1999 prohibiting any form of payment for sexual intimacy, in other words, prostitution is illegal in Sweden – Finland did the same in 2006 – from 1st October 2008 the same law will be applicable in Norway.

Apparently, these laws are pushing prostitutes to Denmark. Some innocent girls are hoodwinked and bamboozled by so-called pimps and madams from Nigeria. The reasons why people travel from Africa to prostitute in cold Europe are other topic of discussion! It is not a hidden fact that some people capitalize on some of the girls’ background for their own selfish financial interest. Human trafficking is a breach of law and the police are working to unravel the mystery of illegal and legal immigrants’ inflow involved in illicit street prostitution.

It is melancholic that these few impudent girls distort fact about our women. Some readers of this article might wonder why the hullabaloo about sometime already in public domain. The fact is this, daily increment of Nigerian street prostitutes has raised alarm in Denmark: politicians are busy debating on it while media is writing and running documentary programmes on it. To me, it is appalling, and obviously many of us having Nigerian background living in Denmark would be concerned – especially when you are confronted with Danish mainstream of Nigerians street prostitution – it’s uncomfortable and part of our challenges. In a civilized society, individual has rights or freedom to decide how to use his or her body. But when the act contravenes legal rules of a society, you’ll face the music. Street prostitution is illegal in Denmark period. And if that’s what they chose “prostitution”, why can't they play the game by its rule?

Based on empirical research, it is difficult for people to quit the trade. They are strongly convinced that there is nothing wrong with the trade when in it. Some of its repercussions are: depression, isolation, low self-esteem and worst scenario, deadly diseases.

I must establish here that, my aim in this article is not to discus mix blessings of prostitution as a profession – I leave that to the readers – but am convinced that our decent, educated hard working respected women will convince Danish authority never to generalize when confronted at Copenhagen airport or anywhere in Denmark. No matter what, we love Nigeria and keep hoping for the best for her.

Whats up with all this pilgrim superstar status on nairaland? Obviously being a new comer to nairaland, i have to peruse all the topics and give my own opinions and everyone has the right to criticize me to Hell, but why is that Pilgrim is given this Godlike status?

I read some of her posts on nairaland. Some are outlandishly crude and merciless to the opposing debater but whenever someone criticizes her, she gets an army of bandwagon supporters to back her up. Whenever a thread is open to criticize her, immediately it is locked? Why?
a new comer with 10 posts already knows about locked threads shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
