All southerners should please rally round and pull out of this union as one or seek restructuring based on regions for effective management of their different regions. These are the only viable solutions and the sooner you go about it the better. Don't wait till it reaches here before scrambling for solutions. Two can never work together unless they agree. South should sit up, eschew all differences and work together or regret what is coming. I've done my part. You'll not hear from me again. |

BlackFlamefromP: Good to know that there is a Nigerian-made app that can compete very well with twitter. I have been wondering if there is no Nigerian that can create a platform that can compete favourably with all these social media platforms.
Nigerians can generate ideas that can solve Nigeria's problem if we make good use of our brain.
These days it's common to see misguided, delusional youths claiming that they have 'woken up'.
Oga, hating your country is not evidence of waking up. Complaining a lot about your country's problem without being willing to use your brain to think of solution is not evidence of waking up. Hating the northerners and believing the north is the cause of your misery in life is not evidence of waking up. Foolishly wishing your nation evil and saying all sorts of terrible things against your country and your leaders both in social media and offline is not evidence of waking up. Foolishly expecting your country to break up believing that all your problems and miseries in life will magically disappear once your country break up is not evidence of waking up! All these are signs of spiritual and mental sickness. They are signs of escapism from reality and unwillingness to accept responsibility for your life.
You can only prove that are have woken up when you are productive, can make good use of your brain and come up with solution to your country's problems and the problems of humanity in general.
God bless Nigeria Are you living in Nigeria? If yes, you must be a Fulani. They are the hated ones for being power drunk and throwing all caution to the wind. They are dancing naked now in their last dance knowing nobody will trust them again with power. Oh! Sorry, I forgot we have short memory in Nigeria and they are good manipulators. |

Dasuks: Yea what is happening today is in line with what always happened in that area. But u see ure not the one that has to worry about them. Boko/iswap goals are for an Islamic state in Borno. A revamped caliphate after what Danfodio did out west in Sokoto. In their literature, they chastise the Shehu in Maiduguri and heap praise on the Sokoto jihad. What they want is to be the deciders of all, what and who is Muslim.. it gets a political edge here. What they see as the enemy is the political and military elite preventing them from doing so in Borno.
They literally could care less about the middle belt and south, except ofc by legitimating islamic rule thru periodic raids and attacks. U see Islamic royals of old would carry out yearly raids in in the dry season against the "infidels". To prove their commitment to jihad etc. Very ceremonial. That's what those razzias I mentioned before were about.
In places like Chad it gets difficult for them because the entire country is militarist and made up of military gangs (of which the army is the biggest and best equipped :p). So u have to contend with many active fighting gangs on the civilian level and Islam isn't quite a motivating factor as ethnicity and expected gains/spoils/pay from the master (the president for the army and other militant entrepreneurs for the other rebel gangs).
Southern Naija is fine. Tho, when there's a southern president expect iswap to be able to use it to discredit northern elite in their propaganda and seek to make gains against them. The battle is a control for the soul of Borno and other northern places where they can get a hold, if possible. Not southern. They have no such capacity. Except maybe trying to plan attacks. U have DSS and the NIA on that! I am still learning from you but at this point, I want to know if you are within the country or outside because of your assertion that southern Nigeria is fine and that DSS and co are on top of attacks. What we see here is a situation where people see the attackers as untouchable and some are even insinuating collaboration with agencies since they negotiate openly with known faces for ransoms and once it involves them, the government tracking devices develops serious faults and this is the reason why none of them has been nabbed and even if nabbed, gets released immediately. This has created a great mistrust and make the people scampering to protect themselves. That is the situation now, south is not fine courtesy of what is happening there and people of the south will be fools if they fold their hands and think what is happening over there will not affect them. This is time for everyone to sit together and discuss, if periodic fights is their hobby and they want their own space to be practicing it, why not allow them instead of holding others to ransom. |
Politics › Re: 12-Year-Old Among 300 ISWAP Fighters Who Conquered Shekau by Plusstreet(m): 10:28pm On May 22, 2021 |
Dasuks: Oh yes, the area is pretty much a trans-border region. History, religion and culture connects the ppl there. This goes thru to Sudan and up north to Libya (Fezzan).
Another thing is that all the states involved (Niger, Cameroon, Chad and Nigeria) are low capacity countries, in terms of ability to police the border and maintain order. Nigeria is an exception as its inabilities stem mostly from disorganization and not actual lack of resources. Chad is a militarist state, Cameroon exists to protect Biya's interests and Niger has its core westward on the other side of the country. In many ways, the terrorists are lucky in the sense that all the relevant authorities have one thing or another stopping them from focusing on the region.
Back in the day, the region used to be the same kinda thing as well. Borno never policed those areas, unless it was time for the occasional razzias (slave raids led by shock cavalry tactics: You can still see this razzias done today by Boko and co, but with Hiluxes equipped with mounted guns). The states of the area (Kanem-Borno, Kotoko and the Sudanese Rabih Fadlallah's shortlived empire of 1893-1900) existed for the sake of the ruler's empowerment and enrichment. That goes into arguments today about almajiri and co. The character of the state is toward the welfare and stature of the ppl in charge. Not so much the ppl and worse still, ppl living on peripheries like the Lake chad area.
Will end with one example. Rabih Fadlallah, a Sudanese Nubian-Arab ish man, conquered Borno and ruled everything from there up to Eastern Chad. He made his capital at Dikwa in Borno state. He taxed and oppressed the entire populace to the extent that trade and commerce ground to a halt. The Libyan Arab traders had to look for a way to escape the kingdom because everything stopped. Alternatively, Rabih got wealthier and stronger. Up to the point where he felt confident enough to challenge the Europeans, which was his ultimate downfall.
So if u wonder about how Borno can have some of the wealthiest Africans but with some of the poorest of the poor, don't look too far from this. Waaoooh. This is eye opening. In other words our backyard door is open and nature abhors vacuum. This means Iswap or whatever would not find it difficult establishing their base there and expand down south if they are no satisfied with controlling only the core north. That might prove disastrous for them if the south can understand what is happening now and prepare to defend and continue to defend their territories because i foresee Israel/Palestinian scenario playing out in the near future if terrorists eventually controls the core north. All I know is that even if they become greedy and decide to push southward, united east, west, south south and middle belt can withstand them and give them Israel treatment till they calm down and learn how to live and let others live. |

Dasuks: Oh yes it will! The Lake Chad area is the most interesting place in the country from an anthropological and historical point of view. Continuous human settlement there for almost 9,000 years. And many of the present groups in the lake area and elsewhere in those environs have been continuously living there since at least 1000 AD. The Nigerian story is merely another chapter. Interesting place indeed. I use to think of how all these terror groups bypass security to bring members, arms and ammunition all the way from Libya and even non African countries. I am thinking countries along that corridor have many things in common with the core north and it seems there is some sort of supporting each other to achieve their various aims otherwise all these arms and ammunition won't be flowing freely from that axis. It is high time they stick to exactly what they want and stop all these blood shed. If it is Islamic country, I am sure the south will easily agree and everything ironed out on a round table because everyone seems to be tired. All of us in Africa need to move forward like the rest of the world instead of fighting like stone age men. |

Dasuks: The Hausa-Fulani (mostly hausa in the real sense) traders have more money and ofc have that aspect of vuewing less Islamized groups are lower etc. Funny thing is that Bornouan power structures and attitudes aren't any different. So iswap is merely playing on emotions.
They also kidnap and forcefully recruit budumas and the rest. What they need them for is to navigate the mazelike network of pathways in the Lake. Similar to how u need Niger deltans for creeks down south.
The littoral ppl themseles also have their own cards that they're playing as well.
What's monumental about this news is that they have real strong int'l links. They've always had it tho. Algerians and co have been visiting Borno for decades now. But same Shekau that was thought to be in an unassailable position in sambisa... same shekau that they attacked and defeated.... and they are now doing the propaganda of "we dont kill civilians".... u get the picture. Ok. May God's will be done. |

Dasuks: They're both Kanuris and in the very least all Bornouan by heritage. No Fulanis here. Look at the names of the iswap commander, sulum and duguri ? That's Borno. Not fulani. The core of the group has always been led by Bornouans. Fulani have no stake in NE terrorism...most fulani and hausa in the lake chad region are actually fish businessmen, who are largely despised by native competitors for being more capitalized. Even the rearing of the bulby horned cattle there is done by natives, the buduma. Those r the ppl that are now allies of the terrorists. because they've been sold the idea of liberation from second hand status in their own land, by the terrorists. Not every thing is tied around the specter of fulani domination. But why do Fulanis like making others second class? Anarchy thrives wherever there is injustice. |

For the fact that peter has been going about with the sword and even uses it tells us that we should always prepare to defend ourselves. Yeshua is against the timing and that is why he told Peter to put it where it belong since the situation has not called for that. Reminding him that those who use their supposed weapon of defence first or put all their trust in it, or use it foolishly, perish by it. So in as much as we all should be prepared, we should not be the ones that rush into physical fight at every provocation but see it as the last resort especially if our life is threatened. Peter obviously acted hastily. |
