Pls Any link to watch the game? |
The PENGASSAN President, Babatunde Ogun has betrayed Nigerians. He has communicated to all Branches of PENGASSAN and the oil companies that oil wells should not be shut in tomorrow as planned. Shutting down of oil production is the only thing that can put FG and America under pressure instantly. He is the one frustrating our collective efforts even when we are being killed daily by GEJ. The following are his phone numbers: 08035113031 and 08055493031. Pls occupy his life. Bombard him on Facebook also. Pls broadcast this like you never did. If he doesn't pick up, txt him #occupyNigeria |
January 11, 2012 Current Strike Action - PENGASSAN STAND In the light of the current situation in the country, which has necessitated the ongoing strike action now at it's third day, it beholds on me as PENGASSAN President to make the following statements: 1 PENGASSAN is fully in support of the action as directed by NLC & TUC. We hereby thank all Nigerians for their resolve on this peaceful mass protest. 2 As an affiliate of TUC, industrial action commenced on Monday, January 9, 2012 in all of our offices across the nation and all offices are closed. 3. In line with the above, no report is currently being generated from production locations to both DPR and FGN. This is one of the very first step in shut down process. 4. We believe that a Government that is alive to it's responsibilities will not allow this strike to degenerate thus far. 5. Now that the Federal Government has decided to be callous minded, we hereby direct all production platforms to be on red alert in preparation for total production shutdown. 6. We reiterate that before the removal of fuel subsidy, some conditions must be met. These are: Fixing of the four refineries and building new ones, regular power supply, provision of social infrastructures such as rail system and roads and crucially the elimination of corruption associated with supply and distribution of petroleum products in the downstream sector of the oil industry. All Nigerians should please note that the fuel subsidy issue is only a tip of the iceberg amidst a plethora of issues needing urgent redress. We hereby call on all Nigerians not to be weary, but keep faith in the collective will of the people to liberate us from this miss-rule. Signed Babatunde Ogun President, PENGASSAN |

Boko Haram or removal of fuel subsidy? Which one will people prefer |
@ pslm23. All will be well with you in Jesus' name. Amen |
No wonder they want Nigerians to continue to suffer by removing fuel subsidy so that they can continue to steal in Billions. No politicians in Nigeria steal millions no more. Its a matter of time when they start in Trillions, All Jonathan can do is continue to set up committees upon committees when these looters continue to oppress ordinary Nigerians with their loot. For those of you calling Ghadafi a dictator, I will rather have a dictator like Ghadafi ruling Nigeria than a "democrat" like Jonathan. You can decide for yourselves, THE UNKNOWN FACTS ABOUT THE LIBYAN DICTATOR MUAMMAR GADDAFI: 1. There is no electricity bill in Libya; electricity is free for all its citizens. 2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law. 3. Home considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi’s father has died while him, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent. 4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$50,000) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family. 5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans were literate. Today the figure is 83%. 6. Should Libyans want to take up farming career, they would receive farming land, a farming house, equipments, seeds and livestock to kick-start their farms – all for free. 7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US$2,300/mth accommodation and car allowance. 8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price. 9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0.14 per litre. 10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally. 11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found. 12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens. 13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive US$5,000 14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15 15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree 16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country. |
@ Psalm 23. God will perfect everything that concerns your home in Jesus name. Amen. I wish everyone else including my wife who also is undergoing the IVF process goodnews in Jesus' name. Amen |

Minister of Finance Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala The latest US diplomatic cable released on Friday from the whistleblower, WikiLeaks, has made allegations of corruption against some powerful Nigerians. Some of those listed in the report are either occupying key positions in the present government or had served in the past as federal ministers and state governors. The list included the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; former Federal Capital Territory Minister, Malam Nasir el-Rufai; Chief Olabode George; former Minister of State for Petroleum,Edmund Dakoru; and a former Minster of Works, Chief Tony Anenih. Also Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa; former governors of Edo, Rivers and Delta states, Chief Lucky Igbinedon, Peter Odili, and James Ibori, who is currently facing trial for alleged fraud in the United Kingdom; were named among corrupt Nigerian leaders in the latest post by WikiLeaks. While Okonjo-Iweala was accused of cornering contracts worth $50m for her brother, the governors were fingered for using state funds as donations for the library project embarked upon by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo. Yet, others were accused of various forms of embezzlement during their tenure. The allegations were contained in a cable, in which the United States was considering a response to the corruption machine in Nigeria, entitled, Corruption: Nigeria ‘improves’ to sixth-worst in the whole world, What can we do about it? It followed a release published by Transparency International in its 2005 Annual Corruption Perceptions. The content of the cable was written by the then US Ambassador in Nigeria, Mr. John Campbell. The cable, which was posted in 2005, had listed five countries in the whole world that were more corrupt than Nigeria. The countries mentioned were Chad, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Myanmar and Haiti. Transparency International, however, noted that the report was an improvement over what it was in the preceding year. The international watchdog had considered as worrisome widespread corruption at all levels of the private and public sector. The cable cast a doubt on the funding of Obasanjo Farm, which was blossoming at the time even though it was nearly bankrupt in the late 1990s. “Some Nigerians think it is unlikely that Obasanjo’s military pension and benefits were the sole source of investment for establishing this huge enterprise, valued by a construction engineer involved in the construction at more than $250m,” the cable stated. The cable said Daukoru was charged in 1994 for embezzling some $47m as a managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. “The charges were abandoned and Daukoru’s political career soared when Obasanjo took office in 1999.” Ita-Giwa, according to the cable, was indicted for misappropriation of funds by the Idris Kuta panel in 2000, but was pardoned along other indicted senators and she was named a special adviser to Obasanjo when she left the Senate. Anenih, the cable alleged, was indicted by the National Assembly for the sum of N300bn missing from Ministry of Works and Housing while he was the minister. Okonjo-Iweala was said to have steered contracts to her brother named JonJon with the help of el-Rufai. The contracts, said to be about $50m, were paid to him for consulting for the ministry. El-Rufai who was described as “homeless and seeking a loan to import a taxi from the UK,” suddenly became a proud owner of seven upscale properties in a posh Abuja neighbourhood. The cable accused the 36 state governors of donating N10m each to the Obasanjo library project. “Following a public outcry, the library organisers stated the donations were from the governors’ personal funds, but several governors backpedalled from their commitments, claiming they had made no such pledges. When a Lagos lawyer filed a code of conduct complaint alleging conflict of interest in the president receiving these donations from recipients of government funds, Obasanjo invoked the immunity clause of the constitution, and the complaint died out,” the cable said. Worried by the corruption level in the country, the United States government resolved to help the country out by making judicial use of US visa revocation for corrupt practices as provided by Presidential Proclamation 7750. “It is in the USG interest to support Nigeria’s efforts to root out corruption and while our positive public pronouncements contribute to the environment, the biggest influence we can have is the judicious use of US visa revocation for corrupt practices, as provided by the Presidential Proclamation 7750. “Though we are unable to identify every corrupt official, the Mission is compiling a list of some prominent and egregious corrupt officials from throughout the country. The list will take into consideration the individuals, levels of corruption and the impact on Nigerian stability of a 7750 decision. The list could be expanded in many directions, but the Mission feels that such an effort would demonstrate the sincerity and seriousness of the USG’s commitment to good governance and, if these individuals are found ineligible, that finding could contribute greatly to entrenching the precepts of good governance and accountability in Nigeria.”. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20110910317779 |
MY TESTIMONY On 23rd October , three gunmen abducted me at about 6.00am from my house into the boot of their car and drove to a forest,(about 16km) in Okoloma in Rivers state. I was in the boot while they drove for over 3 hours. While in the boot somebody called to ask ''how far'' and the gunmen replied that '' your meat is inside our boot''. The man who called my abductors never showed up. After waiting for the initiator for about 45mim, then my abductors decided to take me to the bush.My abductors told me that someone send them to kill me and kidnap my wife. I was made to walk thru a shrine. We walked about 4km into the forest. As we were walking in the thick forrest, I demended to know what I did wrong and why somebody wanted my life. The leader replied " Jesus where them kill wetin him do?" I said nothing! He then ordered me to be quiet and keep moving. We moved into the swampy area about 4km from OBIGBO PORT HARCOURT. I was ordered to sit in the swampy mud which I did. That night they tie me until the rope cut into my flesh. The guy who initiated the kidnapping switched off his line. This made the guys mad. Later the guys told me that someone from my street sent them to kill me and kidnap my wife. My wife had hid herself in the bathroom when she saw them, so I told them my wife had gone to work. They demanded for 1million naira as drink money and 200million Naira as ransom. On 24th October, at about 4pm, the leader of the gang said we didnt want to cooperate with them and then open rapid fire on me with AK47, after asking me to say "Goodbye". I was about 45cm from the nozzle of his gun. Two bullets hit me, shattering my left leg and left ulna bone in my hand. I was in the open bush naked, without food, water and the gunshot for 7 days. MY GOD IN ACTION As I was in the boot of the the car, I was just praising God and thanking him for the experience. I said two prayers 1)Forginess of sins 2) Accept my soul if this was going to be my end Time check was about 3.45pm. I bled until I passed out. My assailants, thinking I was dead, heaped dirts on me as I journeyed to the other side. On the other side I saw angels and heard them singing----I WILL LIFT MY VOICE AND I WILL SING-----I WILL SING HOLY----HOLY--. The Angels were all dressed in brilliant white garments with wings like birds. I saw my body rising out of my mortal body from where I was lying in the bush. I told myself I was happy to be here praising God with the Angels. I saw myself in the mist of the Angels and we were praising God with the song --HOLY by Donnie Mclurkin, and moving towards a gate which had this powerful rays of light emanating from it. The smaller ones were flapping theirs wings going up and down. As we were approaching the gate, I turned and saw my kids and wife crying. My first son came to wake me from my sleeping position with the OPEN HEAVENS for morning devotion. It was as if I was up watching him from the top. I told him " son---- sorry we are far apart in different world and cant communicate. Then I saw my second son and told him not to trouble his mother as I depart. But when I saw my little daughter, then 2yrs, trying to wake me from my bed, as in playing with me, with my wife crying, I told myself---- this little girl didnt even know my name------ so who will be your father?. . . . . . I stopped moving on and started crying. I screamed! I SHALL NOT DIE BUT LIVE TO DECLARE YOUR GLORY IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING. I remembered my church building which the entire church depended on me for the supervision to completion, being the chairman of the church building committee. I screamed! I SHALL NOT DIE. I SAID "GOD------THIS IS NOT YOUR PURPOSE FOR ME. . . I SHALL LIVE TO TESTIFY AND TO DECLARE YOUR GLORY." As the last of the angels entered into the gate, I came back to life. Back here, in the bush, I heard people talking. One of my abductors ask what time it was and another one said past 2 am in the morning of 25th October, then it became cleared to me that I was away for about 11hrs. My abductors thinking I was dead covered my body with leaves etc. One of them asked the leader If I was dead and why the leader had to kill me. The leader answered that that was what they were paid to do and that my wife was joking with them as she couldnt give them 1 million Naira as drink money before the ramsom of 200 Million Naira. As I breathe back to life, I told them I was alive and needed to dring water but they gave me kerosine to drink. I had three gulps to cool my burning throat. Note, at this moment my throat has collapsed and was burning as if it would be torn apart any moment. They leader gave me phone to call my wife and I told her to tell the church to help raise money etc to secure my release. ENCOUNTER WITH HOLY SPIRIT For those days I had no food and water. Everyday I opened my mouth as I if receiving food from heaven and said to myself '' I DRINK THE BLOOD OF JESUS, I DRINK THE BLOOD OF JESUS------- I RECEIVE STRENGHT FROM HEAVEN" After confessing this about 6 to 7 times I would swallow saliva. Behold, strenght like that of an eagle will decend on me. Then it was about raining. I sang and praise God like I had never before in my life. . . Then I started speaking in tongues and praising God. The kidnapper who shot me coulked his AK 47 and pointed at me demanding to know what I was say saying. I told him that I was thanking God for the feeling of the bullets and seeing I was naked I didnt want the rain to touch me so that I would not die of cold. To his glory, The Lord answered speedily. The rain fell around us leaving the small circle where we sat. The leader asked if I was a pastor but I told him I a born again child of the most high God. I told them not to fear pastors but fear God who sees everything from his throne. I further told them to surrender their lives to Jesus who can change their situations for the best. This rain Miracle happened 3 different days. GOD IS AWESOME! Another day as my wife couldnt raise 200 million Naira for them, the kidnappers called in a ritualist to buy my body parts. They told me how much my body parts will go for but I replied them '" TO GOD BE THE GLORY" One of those days when the leader was poking my boby with gun threatening to finish with me, I replied. . " I have seen the Glory of God and was not affraid to die. The angels are waiting to take me home so do what the devil your master asked you to do" . I told him that the angels were all robe in white waiting to carry me home. I reminded him that the bible said he can only destroy my flesh but cant kill my soul. After those words I closed my eyes expecting his bullets to end the pains. GOD HAD HIS PLANS! When the ritualist came for my body parts, he told them my body would not work and that they should release me. The ritualist hurriedly left the bush. Immediately he ran out of the bush, the leader and his men came into the place where I was lying down and started kicking me, demanding to know if I was a pastor. Again I told them I have forgiven them and that they should repent and give their lives to Jesus. MY RELEASE I need not bore you with details. The church stood in for me! I cried unto God for mercy and God heard me from his throne and delivered me. My parish raised money, my wife sold my Toyota Sienna, others contributed but my abductors said the amount was too small. God put confussion into their midst. The leader of the group, the one who shot me, asked the rest to release me so that I will not die in the bush since I have survived 7 days with the gun shots. He told them that God didnt want me to die so they should let go of me but the others refused. The leader took his shirt and told them he wasnt interested in the game anymore and left. On the seventh day the leader came back with Food and told me to be ready to go home. Please the story is long! let me summerized the rest. On my release, I had suffered SEPTICEMIA, PNUEMONIA, FOOT DROP and CAUSALGIA. My God kept me! While in the forrest God protected me from snakes, wild monkeys by day times and from wild pigs at nights. For over one months I was on oxygen machine in the clinic- - -God kept me For 6 weeks I was put to sleep with drugs so that the doctors could dress the gun wounds due to excessive pains (many have died during such treatments of being put to sleep), My God kept me! I contacted the best neuro surgeons in USA and London but was told my case was hopeless except by miracle. This made me happy because I knew God has a plan for me. I reminded God of worst case I have seen which he healed by his power, then I said to myself that God is the only doctor that can handle impossible cases. Today I stand to testify that God has done the impossible in my life. All that I lost during that trial, God has restored a hundred folds. God has heal me of the FOOT DROP, the CAUSALGIA is gone by his mercy . Please join me to bless the name of our God! God bless you. |

When it comes to news broadcasting based on facts and the truth, 247 Nigeria news update does not break false news. It is our principle to get only the verified fact out to the public. Recently, there has been a report circulating all over the air about the family of founding pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Late Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, accusing Pastor Adeboye of changing church principles and Marginalization. This publication is untrue and has been verified by the immediate relatives of the Late RCCG founder. The speculation that the Akindayomi’s want to have a representative elected by the family, in a permanent position on the governing council to help ensure that the doctrine being taught by the church is in line with the spiritual beliefs of the late Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi is utterly unfounded, according to members of the immediate family, This has been reported falsely and the Akindayomi’s were NOT aware of the petition signed by Abiodun Olukowajo (also a relative) on behalf of the family. According to a member of the immediate Akindayomi family, both the Adeboye’s and the Akindayomi’s had a meeting today (1-August-2011) at the redemption camp. During the meeting, Pastor Adeboye and his wife openly discussed with Pa Akindayomi’s family on the circulating petition by Mr Abiodun Olukowajo. After a well mannered meeting the immediate family of the Akindayomi’s made it clear the news had absolutely nothing to do with them and were as shocked as anyone to hear of such allegations. When we asked one of Pa Akindayomi’s son (Baba Alakos) whether parts of the petition were right, he commented and made a statement that “The Church is of God not the Akindayomi”. He went on to categorically state the family will never want to challenge Pastor Adeboye’s pastoral authority .Mr Abiodun whose name was mentioned in the letter, is one of the grandsons, and the immediate family suspect some people might have tried to exploit him against Pastor Adeboye for their own selfish interest. Nonetheless, the family have promised to talk to Mr Abiodun Olukowajo who lives in UK (London) From our dialogue, the Akindayomi family categorically state they regard Pastor Adeboye as a father not just as a spiritual father alone. Both families ended the meeting on a mutual and respectful note, and all parties went home in peace. |

Satan’s great strategy, when it comes to sex, is to do everything he can to encourage sex outside of marriage, and to discourage sex within marriage. It is an equal victory for Satan if he accomplishes either plan! (IfnotforGod.com) |

NLF Calls On Nigerians In The UK To Attend Sentencing Of Ibori’s Associates on Monday PDF | Print | E-mail Thursday, 03 June 2010 06:46 The Nigeria Liberty Forum has called on Nigerians to show up in impressive numbers at Monday’s sentencing in London of Christine Ibie-Ibori (disgraced former Delta State Governor, James Ibori’s sister) and Udoamaka Okoronkwo-Onuigbo, his mistress. The event is scheduled for the Southwark Crown Court 8 on June 7 at 2 p.m. “Your massive attendance is needed to send a clear message to the world that Nigerians are hard working people who do not support or encourage economic crimes of any nature,” the NLF said in a press statement signed by Kayode Ogundamisi today in London. “It is also an important message to our leaders in Abuja that we demand an re-invigorated war against corruption that jettisons the incompetence of the current EFCC leadership, as well as a call for the trial of the former Attorney general of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa for “obstruction of justice”. It would also be a clear message demanding the immediate retrenchment and trial of Justice Marcel Awokulehin of the Federal High Court.” The Forum commended Nigerians in the UK and all over the world for standing firm in following and supporting the trial of Ibori’s associates in the UK. It observed that yesterday’s conviction of some of Ibori’s associates had brought to naught the moves made by James Ibori and members of the Umaru Yar’Adua cabal to frustrate the trial in London. “In particular, we also note the despicable role played by a UK member of parliament , Tony Baldry, who not only tried to interfere in the case by submitting a letter aimed at harassing UK law enforcement officials but also engaged in acts that clearly aimed at silencing the public by engaging well placed libel lawyers to shut down blogs and UK newspapers that highlighted his role in helping Ibori and his associates to escape justice in the UK.” Below is the full text of the press statement: The Nigeria Liberty Forum wishes to commend Nigerians in the UK and all over the world for standing firm in following and supporting the trial of former Governor James Ibori’s associates in the UK. The NLF also uses this opportunity to encourage all patriotic Nigerians resident in the UK and beyond to come out in large number to witness the sentencing of Ibori’s sister, Christine Ibie-Ibori, and mistress, Udoamaka Okoronkwo (nee Onuigbo). This week’s verdicts, which Christine Ibie-Ibori and Udoamaka Okoronkwo (nee Onuigbo), are proof of the success of our relentless efforts to expose all the moves made by the former governor and members of the Umaru Yar’adua cabal to frustrate the trial. Thanks to the persistent effort of patriotic Nigerians, Ibori and his sponsors’ attempts to derail the trial in London became futile. Many Nigerians also worked with us to neutralize the despicable role played by Tony Baldry, a UK member of parliament. For one, Mr. Baldry tried to interfere in the case by submitting a letter aimed at undermining the efforts of UK law enforcement officials. He also engaged in acts clearly aimed at silencing his critics by engaging top libel lawyers to attempt shutting down blogs and UK newspapers that highlighted his role and attempts in helping Ibori and his associates to escape justice in the UK. But this week’s guilty verdicts reflect not only the positive impact of our diligent commitment to the cause of ridding Nigeria of corruption but also the attentiveness of UK jurors willing to bring culprits to justice. A small cabal of highly placed Nigerians has recklessly robbed Nigeria’s resources. These shameless and unconscionable robbers have not only raped the nation but also profoundly compromised its institutions and hounded some of its best hands into exile. The NLF wishes to express its gratitude to all of its members and non- members who made their presence felt physically in the courtrooms to show solidarity with the people of Delta State as well as the bloggers and citizen reporters who invested time and energy to report the progress of the trial. We also thank numerous Nigerians who, like Ms. Ayo Obe (formerly of the Civil Liberties Organization), either made trips to London to attend the trial or set aside time during their visits to show solidarity with our efforts. We are indebted to the many protesters who made it a point of duty to counter reactionary elements who blamed Ibori’s plight on political persecution rather than his greed. We thank Nigerians all over the world who helped chase Nigeria’s former “Attorney General of Crime,” Michael Aondoakaa, from his hotel room in London as he made efforts to truncate the trial in London, heavily abusing his office. Finally, we call on all patriotic Nigerians resident in the UK (or even elsewhere) to make time in their calendar to attend the sentencing of Christine Ibie-Ibori and Udoamaka Okoronkwo (nee Onuigbo) at the Southwark Crown Court 8 on Monday June 7th 2010 at 2:00 p.m. prompt. Nigerians’ presence in massive numbers is needed to send a clear message to the world that we abhor economic crimes that pauperize the majority of Nigerians and sabotage our country’s prospects. Through your presence in court, you would also send an unambiguous message to Nigerian officials in Abuja that we demand a re-invigorated war against corruption. In order to jumpstart that war, the Goodluck Jonathan administration ought to jettison the incompetent current leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and commence the trial of Mr. Aondoakaa for the “obstruction of justice”. We also call on the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC) to commence the process for the retrenchment and trial of Justice Marcel Awokulehin of the Federal High Court who betrayed his office by presiding over a sham trial to reach a pre-arranged verdict that acquitted Mr. Ibori of all money laundering charges. The NLF once again wishes to express profound gratitude for the role you have played in this struggle to hold corrupt Nigerians accountable, and also to thank you in anticipation of your presence at the Southwark Crown Court on Monday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. http://www.saharareporters.com/news/6190-nlf-calls-on-nigerians-in-the-uk-to-attend-sentencing-of-iboris-associates-on-monday.html |
LAFF MATTERS THIS IS A TRUE LIFE STORY!! Late in 1994, an 87 year old man passed on in a village close to Amai, Kwale, Delta State . The late man's grand son, Ufiaka (26 years old and fairly educated), was given some money and asked to travel to Agbor to buy a fine casket for his grand pa's burial. Ufiaka left base early and arrived Agbor in good time to purchase the casket and make the return journey same day, He was fortunate to get an open back white coloured Peugeot 404 pickup heading for Amai. He, however, had to ride in the back of the pickup with the casket because two market women travelling to Amai were already seated in front with the driver. On the home journey, they ran into a heavy rain storm close to Uronigbe and Ufiaka quickly opened the casket, lay himself nicely in the well padded interior, covered the lid and used the folded newspaper he had with him to leave a small opening between the lid and the main body of the white casket to ensure adequate ventilation. The interior of the casket was very comfortable and Ufiaka soon fell into a very deep sleep. The rain had subsided at the time the pickup van arrived at Umutu and during a brief stop there, two men travelling to Amai boarded the vehicle at the back and the same happened at Ubiaruku where a man and a woman travelling also to Amai entered the vehicle. All this while, Ufiaka was enjoying his beauty sleep inside the Casket completely unaware of the new passengers who boarded at Umutu and Ubiaruku. The pickup van arrived Amai just after 5p.m. and the driver, who was now very hungry, stopped in front of a busy bukataria to have a quick bite before proceeding onto the next village. The sudden stoppage and revving of the pickup's engine woke Ufiaka who then opened the lid of the casket and rose up. Trouble come start! The passengers in the back of the pickup jumped out of the vehicle from various points and took to their heels in various directions. The people eating in the buka (including the mama-put and her service girls) who saw the white casket open, and a "ghost" step out, ran off all over the place some with balls of eba and akpu in their hands. Ufiaka, seeing people running 'helta skelta' was convinced that armed robbers were operating and decided to take-off in the direction three of the passengers, including the woman, were running. When the three passengers realised that Ufiaka was running towards them, they increased their speed and shouted "ghost! ghost!" and, to further worsen the situation, Ufiaka was dressed in white up and down with white shoes to match that day. With the shouting of 'ghost', other people in their homes came out to see what was going on and on seeing people running at high speed all over, they joined in the race for their dear life and the number just swelled. The driver and the two market women were the only people who knew what was on going and they had a hell of a time calming the people down and explaining that … he merely needed shelter, while it was raining , Are you still there! Ok, Practice Laughing Session throughout the remaining days of the year ’2010. IT IS WELL |
