What's your take on this? Please ignore the personal sentiments at the end; it's solely the author's.
It's such a sad jolt to reality!
Tayo Iwo writes:
For those into medical research, today is a sad day for Nigeria!
One of the biggest funding institutions in the World brought out an advert some months ago to build one of the most sophisticated laboratories in a third world country and the final interview was left between Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria.
Kenya having a lot of fund already was easily ruled out and left with Nigeria and Ghana. The head of the team representing Nigeria broke the sad news that the Ghanaian were awarded the contract just because they couldn't defend the last question they were asked.
What's the question?
One of the Professors asked the team, but Nigeria is not safe, herdsmen are all around in Lagos where you are proposing, our representatives would be scared of coming down to Lagos.
All effort to prove to the panel was abortive, to the team, the news Nigerians put out was enough for them to judge how safe Lagos is.
It is this same problem that made Nigeria lost to Kenya, Ghana and one other country for securing the location for the field trial of the most recent vaccine for malaria.
One of the foremost WHO vaccination experts said he kept pushing the committee when they met in Geneva with statistics that Nigeria has the highest number of malaria case incidence so should be the first priority, but they replied, the country isn't safe and that's how we lost.
While the pessimists and haters of the present government are the major culprit in this show of shame, we must acknowledge that the PR of the present government is nothing to go home about. Apart from the few warriors online doing a great job, the government has failed to project itself very well in the eyes of the world.
The waling team are irredeemable, the government of the day is a sorry case when PR is the issue.
If PMB should reappoint his old media team again, am sorry it's a sign that he wish not to progress.

The family members tried all they could to go public and seek justice for what the slapping senator did to their daughter but for the fact that the internet wasn't strong like it is now then; their voice was not heard. So i can confirm the authenticity of the story. I hope you'll step forward to corroborate their story, when the time comes? Let's join hands to fight societal evils please |

Sports › Egypt FA Boss Resigns by pmc01(op): 1:10pm On Jul 07, 2019 |
Egypt sacked head coach Javier Aguirre following their shock elimination in the round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations. Aguirre's Egypt were left stunned on Saturday as the AFCON hosts lost 1-0 to South Africa in Cairo, where the Pharaohs failed to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2004. Afterwards, Egyptian Football Association (EFA) president Hany Abou-Rida announced his resignation and confirmed the departure of the entire technical and administrative staff. rusher14: You cannot say the 2nd highest goalscorer in a European league was picked on the basis of nepotism.
If you know a local player who is on fire right now, let's hear of him.
In addition, this fellas stands at 6 ft 7 inches, I would bet he's in the team for his aerial exploits, an option we really haven't had for quite a while . No wahala. I respect your viewpoint on this. |

rusher14: I agree.
I'm only debunking the talk of his selection based on corruption.
I myself may not have picked him but we need to always carry out investigation rather perpetuating our sentiments. My point is there are even local based players who might have done well for their clubs, but weren't picked. It's not possible this guy did well in the pre-tournament preparations and he'll suddenly appear lost in the tournament. So he was definitely picked on biased sentiments or nepotism. |

I'm kinda supporting South Africa to win their match though.
We'll be equally matched with them if we meet. Against Egypt, I don't trust our GK, except that we have Ighalo to threaten them at the other end. |
