Islam › How Do You Use The Social Media As A Muslim? by pmc01(op): 10:52pm On Oct 03, 2013
Eseoghene Al-Faruq Ohwojeheriposted toThe Muslim Platform
A brother said something some months back and I have been thinking of it and wallahi I can't understand how people become so sincere!

He said he intends to give his Facebook password to his sister and I told him myself and Abdulhakeem have already exchanged ours in case one of us dies the other should close the account

The brother said "no, my own intention is in case I die let her CONTINUE to use my account to post beneficial verses from the Qur'an and quotes from the hadith so that my reward can continue

Then and there I realised I was not talking to my mate. I was talking to someone with more sincerity, someone who saw Facebook as only good for getting some reward. Even when it is reward I want too must it takes someone who is very very sincere to remain so focus that he is even planning how it will continue after his death for the sake of reward. Wallahi people pass people

Ya Allah, grant us sincerity and make our every move one that is pleasing to you. Make it possible for us to ALWAYS remember You

If you are one of those who want to remember Allah always but you find yourself forgetting then this dua may help:

Allahumma a’inni ‘ala dhik-rika wa shuk-rika wa husni ‘ibaa-datika

(O Allah! Assist me in remembering You, in thanking You, and in worshipping You in the best of manners

FOR THOSE IN LAGOS MAINLY
MODS, no punish me o, just trying to reach out positively. You know I am law-abiding. Thank you.
I was in Lagos till Tuesday this week, and I observed the current prices of Rams range from #60,000-#150,000. The high prices, I understand is due to the coming Eid-Kabir festival. I was quite amazed when I got to Ibadan on Tuesday and my cousin took me to see some Rams that were for sale somewhere around the neighbourhood here.

From the inquiries I made from the seller, I was told the selling prices of his rams range from #32,000-#67,000. He also told me he only has a limited stock as people were already hurrying to acquire some of the rams (you know say Nigerians no dey dull for better thing). Below are some of the shots of the still available ones for sale I could take (Pardon the not too excellent shots, I have never taken lessons in Photography). As you can see, they are no small rams at all; they are quite as big and even bigger than those I saw in Lagos (I really don't understand the reason behind the huge price gap though).

Now, I thought I should share the news with friends online as it might save you a good chunk of money you can use in getting other things. I know people will be worried about getting it down to Lagos, but I already discussed that with a cousin of mine who says he can help transport your ram down from Ibadan to your doorstep for #5,000-#7,000 (depending on your location in Lagos).

You can come down here to get one for yourself or just call me to help you procure one and transport it down to your place (provided I chop some of the meat). Interested persons can call me on 08167037530. Odun ayo la maa se o. Chikena!

NB: Abeg, no be me dey sell am o before ........ I just dey pity the Lagos people ni o (I know say dem get money though, but make dem for just see money buy pepper and other things sha).

Education › Impressive 15-year-old Girl Picks Harvard After Being Accepted To 13 Colleges by pmc01(op): 11:13pm On Sep 30, 2013
15-year-old Saheela Ibraheem is unlike any other teenager you know. This genius is on her way to college after being accepted to California Institute of Technology, Harvard, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, Williams College, Stanford, University of Chicago, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Washington University in St. Louis. And of course Saheela chose Harvard. On top of being brilliant, Saheela is humble too! “I try my best in everything I do. Anyone who’s motivated can work wonders.”

This impressive teenager has always been a star student. In 6th grade, she knew she needed more of a challenge at her Conackamack Middle School in Piscataway, N.J. and asked if she could be in a higher-level class. They did her one better and placed her a full grade up. Saheela’s Nigerian parents have been a guiding light for the young scholar, often teaching her subjects the schools neglected to teach.
It was the prestigious private school, Wardlaw-Hartridge where Saheela truly soared. She immediately skipped that awkward freshman year and headed straight into 10th grade. Saheela has more to offer than brains, she’s got the brawn too! She plays outfield for her school’s softball team, defender on the soccer team and she swims relays and 50-meter races on the swim team! Oh and if you thought I was done, I’m not. She’s also cultured! Saheela plays trombone and she’s president of the school’s investment!

I'm sorry to say this- Beyond the 'tears in my eyes' campaign, how many of us will actually have a change of hearts towards our aged Mothers and Fathers that we have systematically neglected? Please, it is more important we actualize the lessons in this post than just acknowledge how touching and thought-provoking.

Thanks all.

I'm impressed. It's evident his father really trained him to be this upright in his dealings with people/discharging whatever duties are expected of him. Today's parents should take a cue, as well as the youths that will be parents tomorrow- Train yourself to be disciplined and raise your children to follow suit, you would have contributed your quota towards sincere transformation of Nigeria to that country we dream of and will be genuinely proud of.

God bless us, God bless Nigeria, Aamiin.

THIS IS HOW FRIENDSHIP BREAKS
Both friends will think that they are too busy
They will not contact each other thinking it may be disturbing
As time passes, both will think... "let the other contact me"
After a while, each will think... "why should I contact first?"
Here, your love will gradually be converted to pride
Finally, without contact, the memory becomes weak
They forget each other.....
One day they will meet and blame one another
So, let's keep in touch, my dear friend
I don’t wanna be one of those kind of friends
So here I am saying,
I miss you! And hope that all is well with you?
Life is no fun without FRIENDS
