Islam › "The Little Oft-neglected Wonders Of The World" by pmc01(op): 5:07pm On Nov 03, 2013
Enlightening Your Soul via Facebook:

Options for this story
A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World."

Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many."

The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help." The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the 'Seven Wonders of the World' are:

1. to see
2. to hear
3. to touch
4. to taste
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love."

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous!

"It is He (Your LORD Allah), Who has created for you (the sense of) hearing (ears), sight (eyes), and hearts (understanding). Little thanks you give." -23:78 - The Glorious Quran

THE GIFT OF LISTENING . . .
But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.

THE GIFT OF AFFECTION . . .
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.

THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER . . .
Give those you know and not know a gift of smile and make them laugh...that would be a gift which automatically says, "I love to laugh with you and I am glad to meet you"

THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE . . .
It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.

THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT . . .
A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job" or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someones day.

THE GIFT OF A FAVOR . . .
Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.

THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE . . .
There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.

THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION . . .
The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

A gentle reminder -- that the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.

"Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you deny?"
- 55:25 The Glorious Quran

Let us all remind ourselves of this Dua (Supplication) from the Glorious Quran
"...My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my off-spring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will)." 46:15 - The Glorious Quran

Mr. Usermane, the question is if the allegation is true, must we eat it? I don't really understand why you are trying to make a case for the pig fat/oil whatever as if there is no better option for it. Have you also forgotten that we are to stay away from matters that are 'in-between'?

Just stick with the clearly Halal things and leave the Pig thing to be.

The Ibos are gradually manifesting the wild animalistic tendencies in their psychological set-up on this forum. What happened to a rational conscience? So, if some of you here were asked to counsel the poor girl until she is emotionally rehabilitated, the first thing you will taunt her with is that her manipulator is a Yoruba man and she shouldn't be pitied because of that?

Islam › Fear Allaah At All Times by pmc01(op): 8:10am On Nov 02, 2013
FEAR ALLAH ( Subhana watala)

(Pls take your time to read through and digest... this can be the last thing from me to you, for nobody knows when death shall strike.)

At this point , you are not alone in the room where you are reading this text. Even at times when you think you are alone you have never really been alone . Allah’s appointed angels are constantly monitoring and inscribing
everything that you do. The moment you say a word they
write it down . Your every step, every thought, everything that you do , including obligations which have been postponed , are all recorded without omission .
These angels do not discriminate between minor or major actions . Even when you are asleep they are constantly with you . They fulfil their obligations without error. They are never forgetful or erroneous, they carry out their task faultlessly . By the same token , your appointed angels of death are also waiting . What are they waiting for? For your predestined time to be fulfilled . When your appointed time of death reaches you , it is they who will take delivery of your soul.
As well as these , there are other witnesses which we have not yet mentioned , the ones you do not think about , these are your secret witnesses; your hands and skin. On the Day of Judgment , all these witnesses will congregate, and with Allah ’ s permission they will speak and give their testimony about you . If you happen to be one of those who did not fear Allah , or if you were not a cautious person they will , testify against you .
Humanity has been created to worship Allah and is
constantly being tested . A person’s temporal existence
on average is about sixty years , it is not much time before one is eventually brought before Allah to give account for every second of one’s life . When everyone
learns of what they have earned on Earth through the evidence provided by these witnesses, Allah will then decide on the kind of eternal life appropriate for them . If a person possesses good deeds he will be given his Book in his right hand and that person will be eternally saved.
However , if he is among those whose Books are given in their left hands, he will then say :
… If only I had not been given my Book and had not
known about my Reckoning ! If only death had really been
the end ! My wealth has been of no use to me . My power
has vanished . (Surat al- Haqqa : 25 - 29 )

From here on he will be apprehended , dragged facedown and taken to Hell, never to be released .
The reason behind this terrible end , is that people never imagined that their every action would be recorded and would one day be revealed and accounted for , hence they passed their lives carelessly without fearing Allah or His
warnings. A person such as this who does not possess a
definite form of belief in the Hereafter , in the Day of
Judgment or in a terrorizing place of punishment for
wrong actions and careless behavior , like Hell, will not
mind ignoring Allah’s boundaries.
This is why fear of Allah is a very strong indicator of faith
in Allah and an important indicator of what to expect in
the eternal Hereafter . The only way to safety is founded
upon fearful awareness of Allah and scrupulous caution.
The Day of Judgment is a fearsome reality to be reflected upon with awe so that it becomes impossible to remain unaffected by it . However , this fear is only applicable to people of faith and is a particular type of fear because Allah has described what will happen on the Day of Judgment in numerous Qur ’ anic verses ; the scribes ,
witnesses and the enormous congregation of people . This
is an absolute certainty , which is unconditionally
accepted by true believers who are fearful of facing such a terrifying ordeal.
Everything you do is immediately recorded , even as you are reading this book . You are fast approaching the day when you will be called by Allah to account for your
actions . So we hope to be amongst those who have
earned Allah ’ s pleasure through fearful awareness of
Him :
. . . Take provision; but the best provision is taqwa of
Allah . So have taqwa of Me , people of intelligence! ( Surat
al- Baqara : 197)

May Allah make this a beneficial one and do not forget to pray for me too (a sincere request from me to you

Islam › A Corp Member In Need! by pmc01(op): 12:46pm On Nov 01, 2013
As salaamu 'alaykum....

Please read...

I was reluctant to type this message, because I do understand the prevailing economic frustration among the general populace of this country.

But I then remembered the words of one of our Scholars I once came across that read 'We should rather be thankful to the recipients of our charity for giving us the opportunity to earn more rewards from Allaah, rather than the other way round'. Powerful words, don't you think?

I caught up with an ex-senior colleague in my Faculty yesterday, who is now serving as a corper in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

In the course of our catching up talks, he mentioned a fellow corper in his current batch who had a fatal accident that has kept him in the Hospital since July, 2013.

The victim is reportedly married and has a family dependent on him. You can then imagine how hard it will have been all the while meeting with the cost implication of his treatment in the Hospital.

The brother also told me that despite the combined effort by the MCAN wing here, family and others concerned to settle the hospital bills, there is still over a #100,000 deficit to be taken care of before the victim will be discharged from the hospital to continue his recuperation process at home.

Simply put, he will need at least #200,000 to be able to be up and doing again. This is just a rough estimate, it could be more.

The amount seems not as much as those other ones we have seen in the past; but it is huge, considering current financial status of the majority.

Even my people here who would have kick-started this project are understandably broke, after children's fees and other financial engagements.

I am not sure if there is any bank account opened for this cause, as the MCAN here probably did not envisage things getting this critical.

In fact, I still await a detailed situation report from my senior, who is one their executive members, as I type this.

I have only decided to bring this to the notice of our Ogas and Madams n this platform, so that a way forward can be proffered in the quickest possible time.

We are aware of the consequence of further delay on the hospital bills. So, over to you our people... May Allaah ease our affairs, Aaamin.

All correspondence be directed to the Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Ekiti State wing, as I am yet to have detailed information on the matter.

For further inquiry, please contact Brother Habib on 07088535479. He is the only Exco I have his contact and who relayed the message.

Jazakallaahukhairan!

Crime › Baby Snatching Now Gaining Grounds In Asaba by pmc01(op): 10:01pm On Oct 31, 2013
This is really very alarming and disturbing. I was utterly shocked tonight when Mum informed me that the baby of one Dad's colleague, whom I know very well was forcefully snatched from his wife by yet to be identified harmed men in Asaba, the Delta State capital yesterday (or the day before).

I was told they carried out the act with guns and other dangerous weapons, that is how serious the operation was Several hours after the incidence till this moment, the baby's whereabouts is unknown.

This shouldn't have been of public concern if it were an isolated case. But, I have it on good authority that this is gradually becoming an unpopular trend in the city.

I have tried contacting Dad to get all necessary information about where and how the operation was carried out, as well as other details that might help to recover the baby and what steps have been taken already.

I will like to know if anyone else has heard or experienced this new height of sheer madness. Suggestions are also welcomed on the way forward in nipping this ugly trend in the bud before this becomes another national tragedy!

The PDP described the APC as a stinking sepulchre and the headquarters of corruption in Nigeria.

It said, “This is a party whose leaders relish in stinking miasma but artfully turning a blind eye to it.

“They however go megaphonic when other political parties are involved.

“Hardly can you point at any of its leaders without a heavy baggage.

“In fact, the governors and leaders of the APC have been involved in bulletproof car deals more scandalous than those at the Aviation ministry but this is conspicuously missing on the sermon list of these false evangelists of good governance.”

It wondered why the trial of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, for acts of corruption, had yet to be discussed by the APC leadership.

The PDP further contended that the stench of corruption oozing from the concession of the Lekki Toll Plaza and its debilitating effects on the electoral fortune of APC was the reason the Lagos State Government allegedly retrieved and paid off the firm that built the road.[/b]
This Olisah Metuh guy must be very unintelligent. Who is in control of the anti-graft agencies, the PDP-controlled Government or the APC?

Sincerely, I have noticed with disdain how PDP and their sympathizers on NL here especially try to justify one wrong with another. It is just plain stupid and disgusting of them.

When people are talking about any misdeed of the President and his cabinet, they will be here telling you Tinubu, who is officially not in Government did such too... Wherein is the basis for such unintelligent comparison?

I have related well with Ibos for a long time and I have never seen them to be this foolish in defending a certain incompetent Stella.

Some liars have continuously claimed "our airports have been sufficiently upgraded to compare with other ones in any part of the world", yet some these unpatriotic crooks are trying to mumu-lise us to believe that this incidence is merely another "act of God".

We thank God no life was lost, but the fault of this incidence still lies with the management/regulatory body of the aviation sector, no matter the angle you view it from.

-The Pilot was clearly misled, having been giving the clearance to land.

-The people instructing the pilot were simply incompetent or just negligent. Either they have a serious deficiency in Mathematics and Physics or they simply chose not to be aware there was an obstacle on the tarmac.

-What if the pilot in panic failed to quickly take the unplanned decision he took, several communities will be thrown into another round of mourning, abi?

-A journalist gives an eye-witness report of what he experienced, as mentioned in the article and these pathetic contortionists say it is the work of the opposition. They also say The Punch Newspaper is Tinubu-controlled. It is obvious that even if The Sun Newspapers publish something against 'Saint Mother Stella', we will be fed with the story of how OUK's mother cheated on his father with a Yoruba man.
