I was disappointed on entering the thread. i had expected like say at least a local government area or a tangible number. even before he was voted in, he had enemies and those that never wanted him and that was why he didnt achieve 100% in the polls. so there is nothing new here, try again. We are saying the same thing. Even one person have the right to protest; Late Tai Solarin once did one man riot! By the way, how did you arrive at 20? I didn't see any figure by the OP. Okun-Yoruba, Ebira coalition back power-shift in Kogi
From Ralph Omololu Agbana, Lokoja A GROUP, Coalition of Okun and Ebira Youths (COEY), yesterday said it has adopted Alhaji Abdulrazaq Kutepa, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as its consensus candidate for the rescheduled governorship polls slated for December 3 in Kogi State.
advertisement
The coalition's spokesperson, Alex Babalola Omojarabi, disclosed this to journalists in Okene, Kogi State, shortly after its members conferred with the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim.
Omojarabi also said the decision of the Equity and Peace Contact Group (EPCG), a coalition of governorship aspirants and elders from the two zones, to endorse Kutepa as the consensus candidate of the people of the West and Central Senatorial Districts, arrived at after a parley in Abuja in January, has not changed.
Giving reasons for the adoption, Omojarabi said the group came to the conclusion that it was time for the Igala in Kogi-East to allow other senatorial districts to taste power after ruling the state from creation in 1991.
He described the current moves by Igala aspirants to succeed their kinsman, outgoing Governor Ibrahim Idris, as "insensitive and a disrespect for the feelings and aspirations of their compatriots in the West of the Niger".
He added: "The multi-ethnic nature of Kogi State has more advantages than disadvantages if only we can bring our various qualities together to build a great state. That is why we are here saying Kutepa, with his minority position, stands as a bridge to bring all our people together. It is about mutual confidence; it is about seeing power as a tool for equitable development, unity and progress, good leadership and not where one comes from.
"Poverty in Okunland does not have a different colour from poverty across the various sections of the state. We are trying to build a state where the birthplace of anyone should not debar him or her from aspiring to any position, unless they are incapable".
While describing their meeting with the Ohinoyi as "rewarding", Omojarabi said the visit to the Ebira paramount ruler was part of a series of consultations carried out across the two senatorial districts.
"After wide consultations and studying the mood of the state, we came to the irresistible conclusion that the Igala have had enough of power having ruled the state from inception in 1991. They are our brothers, we are not fighting them. We only felt that they should allow other parts of the state to also taste power because the state belongs to all of us", he added http://odili.net/news/source/2011/aug/25/4.html |

Ekiti bans children hawking during school hoursWritten by Sam Nwaoko, Ado Ekiti Thursday, August 25, 2011 The Ekiti State government has outlawed hawking by children of school age during school hours.
advertisement
While kicking off the registration of school age children into primary one for the 2011/2012 academic session, at the Apostolic Nursery/Primary School, Ijero, on Tuesday, Governor Kayode Fayemi said parents and guardians of any child of school age found hawking during school hours in Ekiti State would, henceforth, be made to face the wrath of the law.
Governor Fayemi, while giving the warning, reiterated the commitment of his administration to a "well-grounded education for children, with emphasis on science and technology."
He said his declaration of free and compulsory education up to senior secondary school was part of his eight-point agenda to meet the 2015 time line on Education for all (EFA) project.
According to Fayemi, the emphasis placed on the education sector was meant to enable the state to "regain and retain its leading position as a reservoir, where knowledge will be a major exportable product to other countries of the world."
He commended the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for the level of success so far achieved in the education sector, adding that it had "succeeded in enhancing the standard of primary education and making public primary schools in the state attractive to parents to enroll their children and wards."
According to him, the state government "has built 51 new primary schools, as part of efforts at addressing the problem of proximity of school to the child and bringing education to the doorstep of every child."
In her remark, the chairman of the Ekiti SUBEB, Professor (Mrs) Modupe Adelabu, solicited the support of all stakeholders in the state, towards achieving EFA project by 2015. http://odili.net/news/source/2011/aug/25/607.htmlEkiti is on track! From independence until now, a particular set of people has held this nation to ransom and I am wondering why many are so blind to see it.
Let us go to the polls again and again, I will never vote for Buhari, IBB or any of their likes. Gowon just like Gadafi became Head of State at the age of 26 and Gadaffi after 42 years is still head of state. Gbawe: Sharrap !!!!!!!!!!!! Why won't you admire him when you are cut from the same cloth? I remember you joined X-factoria to castigate Amosun's 3 months old regime while you go around the forum holding brief for a president in power for 15 months with very few real and tangible achievements he can point to. Things have actually worsened under GEJ and Neutral folks can tell easily who the "apologists c.um a$$ kissers" are. if you look in the mirror you will see who they have in mind. So I hold brief for the President, while you hold brief for Tinubu and the ex-cultist Amosun? And you wonder who the loser is? Yes it is true, some things have worsen under GEJ government, chief among them is the increase in the level bitterness, rabidness, lunacy, and ignorance, displayed by perpetual whining losers like yourself, who see nothing good in GEJ, but would rather a$$ kiss the drug baron Tinubu, worship the ex-cultist Amosun, and serve as chief apologist to the gallivanting clueless Aregbe-sewer. I told you earlier, keep licking their a$$es, very soon you will taste their pooh, just a matter of time. Now do you still have the gut to look at that mirror, you sniveling pathetic, ACN-a$$-licking little-man? Go ahead, look! lol You dare not! |
Politics › Re: Fashola Condemns Jonathan's Action Over Salami ! by PointB: 12:18pm On Aug 25, 2011 |
X-factoria: C'mmon, don't be sarcastic! It does not take the implementation of one line of the constitution to fix transport system or emplace a functional security system like it took for the President to address the crisis in the Judiciary by appointing an Acting PCA until Salami sorts out himself with its principal - the NJC.
Besides, fixing roads involves all tiers of government and to ensure their maintenance requires the input of all. So that can't be resolved in a jiffy!
So please, allow Mr President time to address these problems you highlighted and give him the benefit of doubt that he has instructed people to do something about them even though the Press has not reported it. At least, the only way you know there are no plans going on is because the Press has not reported it. Man, I admire your patience, trying to educate these diehard, dozen-a-dime, ACN/Tinubu apologists c.um a$$ kissers. I doff my hat for you. Allowing then to wallow in their ignorance and self pity might actually be a way forward. GEJ has been branded clueless, lacking gut, slow, stewpid, and all sort of names by some of these thugs. Now they come here seeking your pity, and support on a flimsy allegation that the same clueless man has pulled a smart one on their favoured one and rule of law, nonsense! Such are the ways of hypocrites! Back to the topic, GEJ has done the right thing. Anyone who is not satisfied with his handling of the matter should seek to be joined in the case, instituted by Salami against the NJC, and GEJ, or should go hug one of those newly commissioned train on transit! Pathetic sniveling losers! |

In case you don't know , levels don change worldwide and Naija no dey carry last. There is not illegal about his suspension; it was necessary to prevent a vacuum. When the issues surrounding his case are resolved. I believe he will be reinstated. He (Salami) could have avoided it by a simple apology, but his oversize ego beclouded his reason; I wonder why the minority interested party are making all these loud noise; any I will follow the case as he has gone back to the court. |
