As the Ebonyi State Obedients Movement celebrates Peter Obi's birthday at 64 years, the group has warned members of the new coalition, African Democratic Congress (ADC), against selling its presidential ticket to the highest bidder.

This came after a celebration of mass at the pastoral centre in Abakaliki, the state capital, to round up a series of activities marking Peter Obi's birthday, which commenced over the week.

Comrade Splendour Eze Oko, who's the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party at the 2023 general election, described Obi as someone who is worthy of leadership in the highest office in the country to bring about positive change and development to the poor masses.

He cautioned the governor of Edo state over his recent comments on Obi that have gained reactions across the country, saying that the Obedient movement would hold him responsible if anything happens to the security of Mr. Obi, and called on Nigerians to rise up to defend democracy.

"We are making a statement today. To those of them who are threatening Mr. Peter Obi for entering their state—I'm talking about Edo State at the moment—I'm sending a warning to the governor of Edo State that we are not joking when we say that following Peter Obi, we give our lives to it. If anything happens to Peter Obi, we'll hold him responsible.

"I want to warn that the coalition should not impose a candidate on the people. We are looking at the coalition as a means of liberating the poor Nigerians; therefore, they should not look at the ticket as made for the highest bidder. They should consider the most qualified, and I think the most qualified is Peter Obi," he added.

Chief Eze Emmanuel Eze, a member of the National Advisory Committee of the movement, recalled that it was a week-long activity that ended on a high note, saying that within the week, members had visited vulnerable places such as hospitals, leprosy homes, and motherless babies homes to celebrate Obi's birthday with the less privileged persons.

"It is also instructive to know that what is happening here in Ebonyi State is happening all over the country and all over the world, wherever you see Nigerians, because we believe that Peter Obi, who is an institution of hope, represents the hope of a common man.

"Despite how bad things are, we believe that Peter Obi's presidency is what we need at this time. This country requires someone like Peter Obi to deliver us from the darkness, corruption, incompetence, and mismanagement of Nigeria's economy.

"We are celebrating him because he embodies the vision of character, competence, capacity, and compassion, and that is what Nigeria needs now." Eze said.

He described Mr. Obi as the rejuvenation of hope in a hopeless situation, referencing the current economic hardship being faced by the common poor people across the country at the moment, and called on the Nigerian masses to embrace the new hope that Mr. Obi represents.

Members of the movement who spoke with our correspondent included R.t Hon. Barr. Emmanuel Nwobo, who was the former assistant director of Peter Obi's campaign organisation at the 2023 general election; Mr. Igiri Innocent, a chieftain of the Labour Party; and Barr. Adum Solomon. All maintained that Obi's presidency in 2027 is feasible against all odds.

"There's no coalition without the Obedients; minus the Obedients from the coalition, then it's as empty as an empty drum. Peter Obi is the leader of the coalition, and we don't have any idea of hijacking anything. Our goal is to be at the centre of it, and if Peter Obi is not accommodated, then that is the end of the coalition." Igiri added.

The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Chief George Moghalu, paid a visit to Daura yesterday to extend his condolences to the family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Moghalu served under Buhari's administration.

In his tribute to the late ex-president, he described Buhari's passing as "the end of an era" marked by discipline, dedication, and commitment to national service.

Moghalu highlighted Buhari's deep conviction, principles, and profound impact on Nigeria's political landscape, noting Buhari's sincere efforts towards shaping Nigeria's destiny with resolute leadership.

"President Buhari was a man of deep conviction and principle. His impact on Nigeria’s political landscape is profound and enduring.

"In his own way, he strove to shape the destiny of our great nation with sincerity of purpose and resolute leadership.

"I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him eternal rest, forgives his shortcomings, and admits him into Aljannah Firdaus.

"May his legacy continue to inspire generations, and may his family and loved ones find strength and solace in the goodwill and prayers of the Nigerian people.

The Ohaukwu Youths Assembly has commended two of its own, Barrister Chinoso Owo and Barrister Eze Blessing for their historic academic achievements, after both emerged among the top ten best graduating students from the Nigerian Law School.

The duo, who hail from Ngboejeogu in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, not only made First Class honours during their undergraduate studies but also repeated the feat at the Nigerian Law School.

Barr. Owo ranked 4th out of over 7,000 candidates nationwide, while Barr. Eze emerged 8th—a rare accomplishment that has drawn admiration across legal and community circles.

Describing them as “rare academic gems,” the President of the Ohaukwu Youths Assembly, Comrade Emmanuel Onah, said their excellence reflects the intellectual strength and determination within Ohaukwu’s youth.

The Assembly also presented cash gifts to the duo and assured them of continued support as they pursue impactful legal careers.


He maintained that the youths' commendation to duo who are also their members marked a proud chapter for the Ohaukwu people, signaling a new era of youth-driven excellence and commitment to national development.

Encomium as Arch Bishop Onyeuwaoma Celebrates 60th Birthday Anniversary in Ebonyi


The celebration of 60th birthday anniversary of Arch Bishop Onyeuwaoma Godswill Okoro Omoke was full of encomium and worship to God for His Grace, mercies and kindness over his life and ministry.

The 60th birthday Anniversary celebration, which took place at Presbyterian Church of Nigeria,Onueke Urban parish was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, including business moguls, clergymen, political office holders, friends and well wishers who came to thank God for preserving his life and sustaining the ministry over the years.

In a separate interviews with the celebrant and other clergymen in attendance during the ceremony,the minister in charge of Umuahia Parish,Most Rev.Ibeabuchi Agwu expressed joy and gladness over the 60th birthday Anniversary of Arch Bishop Onyeuwaoma, stating that it is the Lord's doing and prayed that,the rest of his life shall be better than the past years and shall age with sound health and prosperity.

On his part,the celebrant, Arch Bishop Onyeuwaoma Godswill Okoro Omoke appreciated God for the serene weather condition and for His mercies and preservation throughout his sojourn in other parishes where he pastored, saying that his 60th birthday Anniversary is unique because,he is almost 30 years in the ministry and also healthy at 60 and urged others to remain faithful to God because He will never fail.

Also speaking,the minister in charge of Isu Parish in Onicha LGA, Rev.Amb Godwin Nwachukwu Ude appreciated God for a unique and examplary life of Arch Bishop Onyeuwaoma, saying that, you will never drown when you follow him, and enjoined other young ministers to emulate his footsteps.

While the CCN Secretary,Rt Rev.Emeka Kalu of Mgbukobe parish described Arch Bishop Onyeuwaoma as a man full of wisdom and multi talented.

``He is a man of goodwill; Arch Bishop Onyeuwaoma is a man that does not clamp down on others in other to rise.He is a man, full of wisdom ,favor and multi talented.As his name implies, Onyeuwaoma follows him in whatever he does.He is a lifter and not a mocker.He has raised a lot of generations.

Earlier in his sermon,most Rev.Ibeabuchi Agwu of Umuahia parish, enjoined Christians all over the world to embibe the culture of Thanksgiving to God for His loving kindness over our lives, saying that we should be grateful to God that we are alive today, despite the challenges before us.

``We should be grateful for how God has been healing us from diseases.
``Many has died over minor headache,we should be grateful to God as a parish that the minister is still alive.We should be grateful for his loving kindness over our loved ones and family members."

Most Rev.Agwu further noted that God started using Onyeuwaoma even before he started ministry and served in various places such as: Enugu,Okagbue, Port Harcourt,Umunle,Aba,St.Peters , Ebonyi parish, among other places where God preserved him and used him to make a mark.

The clergyman took time to explain times and seasons as a Christian, said that 6th day is full of struggles, rejection,diseases, premature death,but noted that the 7th day or month is known for breakthrough, divine favour, perfection,rest, happiness and fulfillment as recorded in Gal 2:4,4:9; 5:1, calling on Christians to live a life of appreciation and thanksgiving to God always.

The event featured ministration from various arms,goodwill messages, cutting of birthday anniversary cake, among others.

Francis Frontiers Fully Prepared To Neutralize Any Opposition Against Gov Nwifuru's Re-election--Usulor


The National Chairman of Francis Frontiers, Rt. Hon. Chris Usulor says the group was fully prepared to mobilize support to neutralize any form of coalition or opposition against the re-election of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in 2027.

Usulor disclosed this at Amuzu Community Ezza South LGA, on Thursday, during the inauguration of the remaining Local Government Officers of Francis Frontiers, Ezza South Chapter.

Usulor explained that the organizational structure of FF, would make it impossible for any coalition or opposition to challenge the re-election of Gov Nwifuru and other candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State.

He explained that Francis Frontiers was structured to have formidable presence in the state, zone, local government, ward and booth levels, across the 13 LGAs of the State and assured that the group was not leaving any stone unturned ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He called on the newly inaugurated executive members to note that they were chosen because of their political capacity and urged them to show total commitment to the group's project of supporting and promoting the good governance of Gov Nwifuru ahead of 2027.

Earlier, in his remarks, the Ezza South Coordinator of Francis Frontiers, Chief Celestine Ekechi Kojos, corroborated the position of Hon Usulor, saying that the sole objective of the group is to rally round the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru and mobilized total support for his re-election.

He noted that the Ezza South chapter of Francis Frontiers under him was fully prepared to always take a lead in every activity and programmes of the group.

He encouraged them to strive to make impact to justify their appointments.

Chief Ekechi thanked the Chairman, Elders' Advisory Council, Chief Christopher Ngwuta (GNG) who he said had contributed selflessly to the many activities of the group and prayed that God would replenish his pocket.

Inaugurating the new EXCO members, the legal Adviser of the group and Member, Ebonyi State Scholarship Board, Chief Barr. Collins Chima, urged them not to play hide and sick game, as it's not going to be tolerated amongst members of the group.

He added that anyone who is discovered not to be committed to the group would be replaced with others who are ready to work for success of the group.

Chima maintained that his utmost joy was the class of persons that are piloting the affairs of Francis Frontiers across the thirteen Council areas of the state which he said was why the governor Nwifuru is taking them seriously.

The Deputy Chairman of Elders' Advisory Council ,Ezza South chapter, Hon Sunday Ogodo said they were very lucky that the national Chairman of the Francis Frontiers is from Ezza South LGA, vowing that they would stop at nothing in giving the group support, a reason he said, the Ezza South Chapter is standing out in the comity of LGA chapters of the group across the State.

Former Commissioner for Information and State Orientation and retired Permanent Secretary, Chief Kenneth Uhuo,who was appointed Deputy Coordinator, Ezza South Chapter, in his acceptance speech said Francis Frontiers is a unique sociopolitical group peopled by individuals who had distinguished themselves in character and in service to the people, describing it as a privilege to have been appointed alongside others into the Ezza South EXCO of the group.

He promised to put in his best in ensuring that the group actualizes its objectives.

Others in their acceptance speeches, including,the youth leader, Ikechukwu Ukwuoji, the Deputy Legal adviser, Barr Chinedu Ugbo and the Deputy Woman leader, Mrs Christian Chukwu, who spoke on behalf of others promised to join hands with the leaders of the group to ensure the realization of its objectives.

Traditional rulers of Ekoli, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, have banished town union president of the community, Kalu Ama Mba for ten years.

The monarchs also imposed N300million and life local cow as fines against Mba.

This was contained in a statement after their emergency meeting on the ongoing killings and destruction of properties in the community by warring factions in the area.

The crisis in the community has escalated with the killing of Udu Nnachi Uzor on Wednesday this week with properties destroyed

His wife, Onyinye, a two month old nursing mother who witnessed the incident alleged that a political group in the community known as catcham boys numbering about 20 , masterminded the killing.

She further alleged that the thugs were accompanied and aided by soldiers and police who stormed their house at about midday and asked about her husband.

"They moved straight into the room and shot him dead. He was shot by one of the catcham members known as 'Deri'".

She said her husband's remains had been deposited in the morgue and called for arrest and prosecution of the killers.

The traditional rulers, in a statement after their emergency meeting on the crisis, banished the town union president of the community.

The statement which was signed by the Chairman, Ekoli Edda traditional council, HRH Etta Egor Akanu, HRH Peter Ibeze, HRH Dick Ibiam Ama, HRH, Egbeke Idika and Chief Thomas Ama, alleged that many people have been killed in the community by the catcham boys who they said has the support of the town union president.

The monarchs called for the removal of Mba as the town union president of the community, saying that the community has been in crisis since emerged the town union president.

They declared Mba banished for 10 years and that he must pay N300million as general damages in the crisis.

The traditional rulers also said that the town union president must life local cow for cleansing and atonement of the community after the 10 years banishment.

At least, One person has reportedly been killed and many others injured in Ekoli, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, following a renewed Inter-Cumunal crisis.

There has been tension in the community since last month after some attacks by suspected political thugs which also claimed a life with properties worth millions of naira destroyed.

A former Chairman of the local government and former House of Assembly member,Dr. Eni Uduma Chima and his younger brother, Chima Uduma Chima escaped death during the attack with the SUV car of the politician shattered with bullets.

Eni and the younger brother were pronounced banished by some members of the community for seven years few weeks after the incident.

The duo were accused of promoting communal war by those who banished them.

The banishment which caused tension in the community, was heightened on Wednesday following the killing of another person, Udu Nnachi Uzor.

Eyewitness account claimed that a group known as catcham boys, killed Udu in his house at Ndenworo village in the community.

His wife, Onyinye who witnessed the incident narrated in a telephone interview that the suspects, numbering about 20 accompanied and aided by soldiers and police stormed their house at about midday and asked about her husband.

"They moved straight into the room and shot him dead. He was shot by one of the Catcham members known as 'Deri'".

She said her husband's remains has been deposited at the morgue.

Recounting the incident, a community leader, Chief Etta Egor said the Catcham vigilante group has been wrecking havoc and causing unnecessary tension in Ekoli-Edda.

"We sighted them going into the villages armed with pump action riffles in the company of police men and soldiers. We were wondering what the problem was this time around.

"Suddenly, we started hearing gunshots and when we rushed to the house of Nnachi Uzor, he had dropped dead already. We met the wife and family members crying. We don't know the crime Ekoli has committed that the government has allowed these people to be attacking and killing our innocent Youths like this?", he recounted.

Sources said a moving MAC-Truck belonging to the former council Chairman which was diverted by the thugs was still missing.

Also eulogizing the celebrant, a UK based Nigerian described her as a Colossus whose magnanimity, intellect, and kindness is unequaled.

She said that the celebrant is a woman of substance with uncommon humility, despite her affluence.

The UK based woman expressed satisfaction with the celebrant 's character describing her as a blessing to anyone that has come to know her.

2027: Group Empowers Over 1000 Members in Ebonyi, Inaugurates Leaders to Support President Tinubu's Re-election

The South-East Renewed Hope Agenda, a social political group aimed at galvanising support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027, has empowered over 1000 of its members in Ebonyi state and inaugurated the leaders across the thirteen local government areas of the state.

The empowerment came during the official inauguration of the state executives, an event that took place in Abakaliki, the state capital, where cash transfers were reportedly made to members as well as the distribution of empowerment items such as cars, motorcycles, sewing and grinding machines, and others.

Speaking with journalists, Mr. Belusochuku Michael Enwerre, who is the National Coordinator of the group, said that the empowerment was a demonstration of President Tinubu's commitments to the well-being of the people of the region and urged his members in Ebonyi State to make judicious use of the equipment to work for his re-election.

"We are here to commit to the re-election of Mr. President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and as well go to our various communities and wards to galvanise support for him. We know what the President stands for and what he has done for the South-East region." Enwerre said.

He commended President Tinubu for the establishment of the Southeast Development Commission as well as infrastructural development and empowerment of the region in his administration, saying that galvanising support for his re-election is to compliment the courage to do what the other presidents have not been able to do for the entire country and the Southeast region.

"Is it NELFUND, where our students in the southeast can easily go to school without hitches, the removal of fuel subsidy, etc., and you can see the gains, where various states allocations are being increased, and the various road infrastructures? We must commend him for what he has done, and we in the southeast must do the needful to support him and ensure that our president is re-elected come 2027.

"We have started empowerment of our people; over 200 people have received a transfer of 200,000 naira, 100,000 for 250 people, 50,000 for 300 people, and 20,000 naira for 500 indigent people to ensure they are empowered to stop youth restiveness in our various communities. More than 1000 people will benefit from the cash transfers, grinding machines, motorcycles, and sewing machines",he added.

In his remark, Mr. James Eze Alaka, who's the state Coordinator, highlighted that the group was formed to organise a series of impactful activities designed to uplift, empower, and bring hope to the masses, while commending the state executives, local government coordinators, and ward executives for their demonstrated commitments to the course.

He noted that the group has twenty-one (21) executive members at the state level, two hundred and seventy-three (273) local government exco members, and three hundred and fifty-one (351) ward exco members, making it the largest political group in the state.

Alaka equally commended the Ebonyi State Governor, R. T. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on his dedication to President Tinubu's course for renewed hope by delivering his people's charter of needs towards the welfare and development of Ebonyi State, which has propelled the group to greater heights.

"His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Bldr) Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Father of modern Ebonyi State, is an exceptional leader and great pillar of encouragement. We strongly believe that with people like him around the President, he will not lack valuable ideas to achieve his developmental objectives",he added.

One of the beneficiaries of the motorcycle, Mr Aligwe Samson commended the transparent nature of the exercise, saying that the gesture has ignited more zeal in him to canvas support for President Tinubu's re-election come 2027, and appreciated the president's developmental achievements in the south-East region.

The Senate, on Tuesday, passed into law a bill for the establishment of Federal Polytechnic (Vocational/ICT) Onueke, Ezza South LGA, Ebonyi State.

The bill was sponsored by the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone, Engr Kenneth Eze.

This was contained in a press statement issued by his Senior Legislative Aide, Hon Kizito Nwankwo, a copy of which was obtained by our Reporter.

According to Nwankwo,the bill which he said enjoyed the overwhelming support of the Senators and civil society groups is a dream come true not just for Sen Eze and the people of Ebonyi Central, but for the entire people of Ebonyi state.

He said the institution would be situated at Onueke Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.

He quoted Senator Eze as saying that
the Bill was a testament to his unwavering commitment to the human capital development of the people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District.

Eze, according to him, maintained that the institution would play a significant role in arming the youths of Ebonyi Central and Ebonyi state, with relevant technical and vocational skills needed to thrive in the 21st century technology driven labour markets.

"He urged the youths of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District to get prepared to take full advantage of the institution to develop their talents, not only to be self employable but also to become employers of labour.

"He thanked his colleagues, the Senators of the 10th Senate for their overwhelming support to the Bill, and the people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, especially those who came to the National Assembly during the public hearing to show their solidarity and support, his Aide quoted Senator Eze to have said in the statement.

ALex Ekwueme Federal University, (ACSPN) Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State, has assured the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) of support as the institution hosts the chapter’s yearly workshop in July.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunday Elom, made this known when he received in audience members of Ebonyi State Chapter of the Association in his office.

Prof. Elom who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Abel Ezeoha, commended the Association for its well spelt-out vision, mission as well as aims and objectives, adding that they all tilted towards producing well-balanced communicators in this era of digital technology and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Elom said that the university has reached advanced stages of preparation to unbundle the Mass Communication department in line with the directives of the National Universities Commission (NUC), adding that more human resources and infrastructure were being put in place to match the expected expansion that would be witnessed as soon as the action was carried out.

He described the move by the association to host its next workshop in
AE-FUNAI as a welcome development and assured them that the school would assist them within the limits of its resources because of the beneficial effects of the workshop.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation and Deputy National President II of the Association, Prof. Ifeyinwa Nsude, said they were in the Vice Chancellor’s office to formally inform him that the Association in conjunction with the Department of Mass Communication of AE-FUNAI will host this year’s Empowerment Workshop Series.

She took time to brief the Vice Chancellor on the aims and objectives of the association, which she said was formed in 2012 with the aim of bringing all practitioners in the media industry, communication teachers in the classroom as well as students, together to ensure proper blending and enhanced productivity and improved teaching and learning.

Prof. Nsude said the Association has three distinctive programmes such as Eminent Persons Series, Empowerment Series and History Series, which are usually executed by inviting suitable personalities to give motivational talks to members and students in order to challenge them to greater heights. She said this year’s workshop, which would focus on Media, Security and Artificial Intelligence fell under the Eminent Persons Series and would be hosted in conjunction with the Department of Mass Communication of AE-FUNAI.

The Deputy National President used the occasion to solicit the assistance of the university in hosting the workshop and invited the Vice Chancellor to perform the opening ceremony.

Prof. Nsude commended the Vice Chancellor for the rapid infrastructural facilities recorded in the institution so far which she said had impacted positively on the academic programmes of the university. She said the association was in the forefront of the unbundling of Mass Communication and called on AE-FUNAI to embrace the change.

The ACSPN delegation included the Ebonyi State Coordinator of the Association, Dr. Joseph N. Chukwu who is also the Head of Department of Mass Communication, AE-FUNAI, the Secretary, Dr. Wealth Udoh of the Public Relations Unit, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, a well as staff of the Mass Communication Unit of AE-FUNAI.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of ACSPN books donated by the National body lead by the President, Prof Rotimi Olatunji.

The Ebonyi State Governor, R. T. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has set up a committee in view of revitalising the NIGERCEM company after years of being out of operation.

This came as part of the governor's campaign promises in accordance with his people's charter of needs agenda to enable industrialisation in the state and create job opportunities for young people.

The committee members included Mrs Catherine Ogbu, Prof. Adline Idike, Hon. Iduma Igariwey, Associate Prof. Ben Odoh, Hon. Sunday Eze and Sen. Chris Nwankwo.

In a press release made by the governor's chief press secretary, Monday Uzor (PhD) noted that Governor Nwifuru constituted the committee at the government house chapel during the mass at the weekend.

"As part of the industrialisation drive, the Ebonyi State Government has set up a 15-member committee to work towards the reactivation of the NIGERCEM factory, Nkalagu.

"Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru announced this during a church service at the Government House Chapel.

"The governor, who spoke on the sidelines of infrastructure, industrialisation, and urban renewals, said a town hall meeting has been convened to engage stakeholders on the best approach to actualise the project.

"The State Chief Executive hinted that lands will be allocated to individuals with the zeal and capacity to establish factories at Ezzangbo Industrial City, urging indigenes of the State to come home and invest to boost the revenue of the State." It stated.

The Town hall meeting tagged; "Support for the Reserved Seat Bill: Ebonyi North Advocacy/Townhall", organized by Women Aids Collective, WACOL, in partnership with UN Women and funded by the Government of Canada, seeks to remedy the low representation of women in legislative houses by providing for special constituencies to be contested and filled by women, as a temporary measure to promote women's political representation.

In her opening remark, the state Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Dr Mrs Alo Lynda, stated that the issue of constitutional amendment to reserve seats for women in elective and appointive positions - is not just a legal or political reform, but a moral imperative.

Dr Alo, while commending WACOL and its partners for driving this bold initiative, lauded stakeholders/participants for their presence adding, "your presence affirms that change is not only necessary but also possible."

During a panel discussion, the Cordinator National Human Rights, Ebonyi state chapter, Onyekachi Okorie, while supporting the Reserved Seat Bill, stressed on the need for equity adding that women have been sidelined for long.

"I personally endorse this bill, secondly my office, the National Human Rights is also endorsing it. Human Rights and law makes no sense without equity.

"The Reserved Seat Bill is a summary of what we call Equity, in the sense that for a very long time the male gender have controlled the political space. So much so, that it's so difficult for their counterpart gender to flow undefeated. And if we allow this continue, women will always be sidelined", Okorie said.

Representative of the Civil Society Organisation, Ajah Oliver, stated that for the Bill to succeed, it must be seen as people oriented, not for a certain group of people. He equally said there's need for supporters from various Constituency to engage lawmakers in favour of the Bill.

Adding their voices, traditional ruler of Okpuitumo community, Ikwo LGA, HRH Eze Stephen Ukpai, and Pastor Kalu Gerald Udonsi noted that men cannot function alone without the help of women.

They pointed out that certain norm/practice prevents women from expressing themselves or shy away from political activities. For instance, women do not partake in village cabinet meetings, hence their opinion on certain issues are not made known.

On the way forward, Mr Okorie while noting that this norm/practices is a systemic problem, called for everyone's commitment in changing the system. He said, "we must be very committed, until our commitment gets stretched to elasticity limit, beyond economic, cultural, and social background."

Agwu Hails Governor Nwifuru, NEMA for Distributing Palliatives to Survivors of Herders' Attack in Ebonyi Community

In a powerful gesture of solidarity and compassion, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Tuesday distributed vital palliative items to survivors of the brutal herders’ attack on Nkalaha community, located in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The distribution event, held in the heart of the ravaged community, witnessed the presence of key government functionaries from the federal, state, and local levels. Among them were traditional rulers, community leaders, security personnel, and hundreds of affected residents, many of whom are still grappling with the trauma of the deadly incident.

Executive Chairman of Ishielu LGA, Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Peace Agwu, led the local government’s delegation at the event. In an emotional address, she paid tribute to the resilience of the Nkalaha people and reaffirmed her administration’s resolve to stand by them in the long road to recovery.

“Today, we gather not merely as officials, but as Nigerians bound by a shared grief and a collective resolve to restore what violence sought to destroy,” Agwu said. “This show of solidarity reminds us that we are not alone, and that the nation stands with Nkalaha in both mourning and rebuilding.”

Agwu praised the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, especially those affected by communal and criminal violence. She also commended NEMA for what she described as “an act of national solidarity that transcends politics and bureaucracy.”


Agwu announced that the local government would soon launch a rehabilitation program tailored toward agricultural recovery, youth empowerment, and trauma counseling.

“The journey to recovery has begun,” she affirmed. “With unity, vigilance, and the grace of God, we will build stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.”



Representing the state governor at the event, Barrister Ikechukwu Alobo, Permanent Secretary in the Deputy Governor’s Office, expressed deep condolences and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to not only providing relief materials but also enhancing security in the area to prevent future attacks.

“We mourn with you,” Alobo said, “and we are committed to not just responding, but preventing such tragedies through stronger community security frameworks and proactive governance.”

NEMA’s representative, Mr. Shartel Chukwu, extended the agency’s heartfelt sympathies to the survivors and applauded the collaborative efforts between the Ebonyi State Government and federal emergency services. He emphasized that the intervention was just one of many to follow.

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Joseph Nwobashi, the Member representing Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency, condemned the attack as “unwarranted, barbaric, and a stain on our collective conscience.” He vowed to push for stronger legislative backing for rural security and more sustained humanitarian interventions for affected communities.

“The pain of Nkalaha is the pain of every right-thinking Nigerian. We must ensure justice, safety, and support for every citizen, regardless of where they live," Nwobashi observed.

The palliatives distributed included food items including rice, indome noodles, amongst others.

Several survivors expressed gratitude for the support while urging the government to pursue lasting solutions to the persistent insecurity threatening rural communities. “We are grateful, but what we really want is peace,” one elderly resident said.

Boundary Dispute: Ishinkwo Community Writes Governor Nwifuru, Accuses Demarcation Committee Of Ignoring White Paper



The People of Ishinkwo Autonomous Community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have called on Governor Nwifuru to intervene in the injustice currently being metted against by government officials in charge of the demarcation of the disputed land between them and their neighboring Abaomege Community, accusing them of not using the official gazette white paper released by government to guide the demarcation exercise.

The Ishinkwu community and Abaomege, both in the aforementioned local government area of the state, have been in crisis for ages due to a boundary issue prior to Governor Nwifuru's resolve to permanently put an end to the age long dispute.

In an open letter to Governor Nwifuru which was read before Journalists in Abakaliki on Monday, the Ishinkwo community accused the implementation Committee of the official gazette white paper of bias and appealed to Governor Nwifuru to intervene.

They alleged that the Committee wilfully ceded Ishinkwo land not part of the areas in dispute to Abaomege, even as they completely abandoned the official government gazette white paper which should be a guide for the demarcation exercise.

The called on the Governor to quickly intervene in the injustice being perpetrated by the implementation Committee of the land demarcation exercise.

The open letter was read by comrade Itumo Joseph Nwaliebu (ICDU President General) in company of the Youth President of the Community,Hon. Ndubuisi Awoh.

The letter reads thus:

Your Excellency, The Executive Governor, Ebonyi State, Government House, Centenary City, Abakalki.

Your Excellency, Sir,

OPEN LETTER TO THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF EBONYI STATE, RT. HON. BUILDER FRANCIS OGBONNA NWUFURU: AN S.O.S. IN BENDING A RULE AND RE-THE SHORT CHANGING OF ISHINKWO COMMUNITY IN THE ONGOING BOUNDARY DEMARCATION EXERCISE ON THE DISPUTED LANDS BETWEEN ISHINKWO AND ABAOMEGE COMMUNITIES – A CALL FOR HIS EXCELLENCY'S PROMPT INTERVENTION IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE INJUSTICE.

1. We, the people of Ishinkwo Community, Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, wish to thank and appreciate His Excellency the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his dogged efforts aimed at maintaining peace and orderliness in every part of Ebonyi State.

2. The purpose of this open letter is to draw the attention of His Excellency to the problem facing the boundary demarcation exercise between Ishinkwo and Abaomege, communities which invariably are affecting Ishinkwo Community, who depend on His Excellency to get the exercise balance on justice and fairness.

3. Your Excellency, sir, we wish to note that various complaint letters have been written to His Excellency by the Ishinkwo Community to inform His Excellency about the discrepancies arising from the ongoing boundary demarcation exercise.

Sir, it is observed with dismay that none of these reports has ever reached the table of His Excellency, and that necessitates the writing of this open letter.

4. Sir, unfortunately, however, the boundary demarcation implementation committee has strived to conceal His Excellency's sight and knowledge from the process of the demarcation exercise and thereby jeopardized the procedure.

5. Your Excellency may wish to note that His Excellency, on the 17th day of July, 2023, inaugurated a peace committee chaired by the late HRH Ezeogo Engr. Ewa Elechi to enquire into the remote and immediate causes of the long-aged crises between Ishinkwo and Abaomege Autonomous Communities and make useful recommendations on the appropriate measures to find lasting peace in the two communities.

6. Sir, the committee concluded its assignment in time and submitted its report to the Ebonyi State Government. The said report embodied their findings and far-reaching resolutions/recommendations aimed at resolving the crises once and for all.

7. Your Excellency, sir, the Ebonyi State Government accepted all the recommendations of the committee and issued a white paper, which has been gazetted in its official white paper on the 22nd day of December, 2023.

8. Sir, paragraphs 2 and 4 of the said official gazette are outlined as follows:

a. Paragraph 2 stated that the government should adopt the principle of fairness and equity in demarcating the disputed boundary between the two communities by considering proximity in allocating the 8 contentious swamp lands to any of the deserving communities.

b. Paragraph 4 stated that the government should construct a concrete road 10 m wide of about 16 km from halfwaybetween 917 and 918 Amudo, passing through Igborkor swamp to Idumayo, halfway to Idumayo River between P29 and P53, through Eguachara, across Obayi stream towards P43, and coming out through Ngene Obenwa, across Okomini stream.

9. Your Excellency, sir, contrary to the description of the abovementioned white paper, the whole boundary demarcation exercise is being hijacked by influence, peculiar interest, clannishness, nepotism and sectional interest exhibited by those seated in the corridor of power against the Ishinkwo Community. And Ishinkwo, as a people, havebeen treated as not part of the electorate or governed by the A governance in Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, and Nigeria at large.

However, we as a people have a right to live wherever Almighty God has planted us to live.

10. Sir, the weak, downtrodden and minority societies opt to be given the right to co-exist with the larger society group; hence, inequality is a natural phenomenon globally.

11. Sir, the boundary demarcation committee abandoned the use of the official gazette white paper and preferred to implement the old purported boundary of Abaomege Community and discarded the idea that Ishinkwo Community equally has her boundary, which passed through the axis of the boundary between Ebonyi Central and Ebonyl South, along Abakaliki to Afikpo Federal Road and terminated at Ebonyi River, head bridge, by the boundary between Ishinkwo Community, Onicha L.G.A., and Ohanwegu Akpuoha Community in Afikpo North Local Government Area, Ebonyl State. exercise is full of

12. Sir, while we said that the boundary demarcation influence, peculiar interest and nepotism are points to buttress our observations. For instance, in the case of the demarcation process, wherever the Abaomege Community claimed to be their boundary, the surveyors often hastily placed a caution tape and immediately ordered bulldozer operators to commence work on the claimed boundary, whereas they turned a deaf ear to the complaint of the Ishinkwo Community. The action entails pure rape of justice.

13. Your Excellency, sir, according to paragraph 2 of the official gazette white paper mentioned above in paragraph 8 of this open letter to His Excellency in considering proximity, Iyocha swamp land is nearer to Abaomege Community, and it was ceded to them, whereas Ekerigwe and Agbechicha are situated in the hinterland of Ugwuokwe village in Ishinkwo Community, but the committee, in contrary to the white paper, went on to demarcate the two swamp lands and thereby planned to carve out four sub-villages from Ishinkwo Community and cede them to Abaomege Community. And we have been living and farming there, as well as burying our forefathers in those sub-villages for decades, and our houses are still presently in the area. We plead with the Ebonyi State Government to send a delegate to pay a visit to the area.

14. Sir, the sub-villages are:

1. Ugbonaa

2. Obodoma

3. Ukwuokwe and

4. Ohainya, respectively, and these ugly scenarios happened on the 5th day of June, 2025. The map referred to in the No. 4 recommendation in the white paper was not made available to aid the demarcation process, and we are not comfortable with the demarcation exercise; hence, the Ishinkwo community has been terribly prejudiced since the 17th day of February, 2025, to date.

15. Your Excellency Sir, the concept of following a terrain, according to the boundary demarcation committee, is an excuse and decoy calculated to truncate the official gazette white paper in favour of the Abaomege Community. The terrain, as described in the white paper, is very explicit and precisely directed to commence from Amudo, the boundary between Ebonyi Central and Ebonyi South, and to terminate at Ebonyi River Head Bridge at Akpuoha, about 16 km along the area.

16. Sir, in view of the aforesaid, we most humbly crave the indulgence of your Excellency to pray as follows:

1. That the white paper should be properly implemented and the five swamp lands captured in the white paper, viz.:

1. Igborkor

2. Idumayo

3. Eguachara

4. Obayi and

5. Ngene Obenwa/Okobo be shared accordingly.

ii. That while we plead that the correct thing should be done on the remaining portions to be demarcated, the areas already covered should be amended to bring it into agreement with the content of the white paper.

iii. That all the lands which never formed part of the disputed lands which are brought in for demarcation as highlighted in paragraph 14 of this open letter be left alone. This is the height of the injustice being foisted on our people (ISHINKWO COMMUNITY) in the ongoing exercise.

iv. That Ishinkwo Community is ready to accept the result of the demarcation process if it truly reflects what is contained in the official gazette white paper and otherwise.

17. Your Excellency Sir, it is based on the above and in order to avoid further or reoccurrences of crises that we write this open letter to you, sir, knowing full well that you care for the masses and will therefore call this boundary demarcation implementation committee to order to do the right thing immediately.

18. In conclusion, we, the good people of Ishinkwo Community, know that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, means well for Ishinkwo Community and Ebonyians and therefore will do everything possible to make peace and life bearable for the people of Ishinkwo and Abaomege Communities.

19. While we await your Excellency's reaction to our open invitation to extend our esteemed consideration and loyalty at all posts, Excellency, the executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

ICPC'S UNBIASED REPORT VINDICATED REBECCA OMOKAMO GODWIN ISAAC FROM PERSECUTION, BLACKMAIL BY EFCC — HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST TELLS PRESIDENT TINUBU

A German-based Nigerian human rights Activist, Mr Dele Sonubi has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently investigate and halt what he described as a systematic and vindictive campaign of persecution, harassment, blackmail, and defamation against Dr. Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac, CEO of Homadil Realty Ltd, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Sonubi alleges that this unlawful crusade is being carried out in collusion with a 79-year-old serial land grabber, Hajiya Colleen Mero Yesufu, who, rather than fade away with age and dignity, has embraced infamy as her legacy — using widowhood and wrinkles as tools for emotional manipulation and criminal cover.
"How can an old woman stoop to such low, dishonorable tactics — weaponizing her age while dragging respected citizens through mud — just to hijack a piece of land?" Sonubi asked. "This isn’t just a case of desperation; it’s a spectacle of disgrace."
A LEGITIMATE TRANSACTION TARGETED BY STATE MACHINERY
The controversial land in question — Plot 4022A09, Guzape District, Abuja — was legally acquired by Dr. Rebecca from Architect Richard John Idakwagi of Rychado Homes, who himself purchased it from the original allottee, Amina Usman Musa. The transaction, according to documents, was backed by powers of attorney, AGIS verification, tax clearance, and duly acknowledged by the Nigerian Police and ICPC.
ICPC and Police reports both confirmed that Rebecca is the lawful owner of the land after extensive, independent investigations — vindicating her in every way. Yet, the EFCC persists in hounding her like a criminal while completely ignoring the seller who confirmed, under no duress, that he sold the land to Rebecca.
"If EFCC isn’t compromised, why aren’t they investigating Richard? Why is the buyer the one being arrested, paraded, and harassed?" Sonubi queried.
DEMOLITION RECOMMENDED BY A RACKETEER
More shocking is the revelation that the demolition of Homadil’s structure was recommended by none other than Eriki Joseph — the Director of Investigations at the FCDA — a man who should, by now, be in a defendant's dock, not holding an official pen. Eriki has been exposed in multiple investigative reports for orchestrating a billion-naira land racket in Abuja. He is the same man who gave clearance for the demolition of Rebecca’s property and recommended it be given to Yesufu.

According to Sonubi, Yesufu has failed to provide valid documentation for any of the lands she claims ownership of, including plots 1861 and 1862 in Katampe, which she allegedly acquired through shell entities with questionable origins. Her strategy? Play the helpless widow card while orchestrating land grabs with precision.
"Her entire story is built on deceit — from her lies to EFCC to her crocodile tears in public. She is a manipulator hiding behind old age. Nigerians are not fools," he said.

The forum of councillors in Ebonyi State have debunked alleged empowerment promised by Governor Nwifuru following their training at Gorra in Nassarawa State for agribusiness and claimed that the said announcement was made by the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Hon. Uchenna Igwe.

In a communique issued by the forum, it commended Governor Nwifuru for his people-orientated leadership and appreciated him for the recent events in the state towards cleansing by inviting Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka to pray for the growth and success of the state.

Curbing crime: NPTF inaugurates modern police Divisional Headquarters in Ebonyi


The Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) on Wednesday, said it committed to improving and enhancing facilities for officers and men in the efforts to curb crime in the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Mr Mohammed Sheidu, Executive Secretary of NPTF made the remark at the inauguration of a Modern Police Divisional Headquarters at Akaeze community, Ivo local government area of Ebonyi.

Sheidu noted that enhancing crime-fighting capabilities became necessary at ensuring that Nigeria is properly secured.

The Secretary said the Divisional Headquarters with modern technologies was part of NPTF Special Intervention Project to boost personnel morale.

"What we commissioned today is not just police station. It is a Morden symbol of state presence, rule of law, and public service.

"This project represents NPTF's unwavering commitment to providing the personnel the infrastructure that meets the realities of contemporary security challenges.

"The scope of this project include: protective installation and perimeter security , including a gatehouse, CCTV surveillance and a sentry post.

"Solar inverter power solutions, borehole, fire safety system among others.

"This facility has been purposefuly designed to improve the quality of police service delivery system for the community they serve.

"We deeply appreciate the support of Ebonyi state government and the cooperation of the people of Akaeze community for creating an enabling environment for the project.

"Security is a shared responsibility and today's we commissioning reflect what is possible when institutions and communities works together," Sheidu said.

In his remark, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, thanked the Ebonyi Governor for his support to actualisation of the facility to enhance quality service.

The IGP, represented by the Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi, Mrs Anthonia Uche-Anya further commended the NPTF and pledged that the facility would be well utilised for the protection of the citizens.

Gov Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, represented by his Deputy, Mrs Patricia Obila also hailed NPTF for providing the facility.

The Major stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Enugu East senatorial zone, Maj-Gen. Christian Ugwu (retired), has convened a strategic meeting for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027.

Ugwu, immediate past Nigeria Ambassador, Poland said the meeting held in Enugu on Saturday, was to discuss and to develop strategic mechanism that would prioritise plans towards securing reasonable votes for Tinubu's re-election comes 2027.

Anike lamented that Nkanu people had notable educated men and women from the Zone and wondered why it was Nnaji who allegedly had a questionable certificate that was picked.

"If he, Uche Nnaji ,has a problem with his CV, and if the federal government calls him a sleeping minister, it is not us. We are not supporting anything that is bad," he declared.

Also speaking, another stakeholder of the party, Mr Kingsley Nnamchi said that the meeting was convened to encourage members to renew their faith in the party.

"Before now, some of our members were feeling discouraged. They are having this impression that we were divided, that the party is factionalised in Enugu State but as you can see, there is nothing like division.

"We are one. We are one progressive minds. We are going home with the belief that our party is now stronger.

"As for 2027, we are ready and are working so hard to see that APC wins in different positions, pointing out that more people are coming into APC by defecting from their political parties.

The member representing Ideato North/South Federal Constituency of Imo state, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere has expressed optimism that his tenure as a lawmaker in the 10th House of Representatives would be reference point for people-oriented representation.

Ugochinyere stated this in an address in commemoration of his second anniversary as a rep member.

According to him, since assuming office in June 2023, i ensured that the dividends of democracy get to my people; I will continually strives to get them the needed development.

The Rep Member noted that he has a staggering record of legislative and infrastructural achievements, such as reconstruction works, execution of 25 water borehole projects, rehabilitation of 10 schools, empowerment of thousands of constituents, and launch of critical erosion control interventions.

He noted that while the projects are already in use, he said they will be formally commissioned in 2026.

In terms of bills sponsorship, he said he has sponsored over 40 key bills which are in various stages in the parliament, such as Creation of Orlu State and a single 6-year presidential term with rotational zoning.

He said, "I prioritized basic amenities, completing *25 solar-powered boreholes across remote communities. These projects already serve over 50,000 residents: Completed: Umuojiosi Isiekenesie (Ward 2), Umuchoke, Umuopia, Umuezemazu Urualla, Ndiuche, Umueshi, Ekulieaka, Ntueke, Akwu, Ozuakoli, and 14 others.

"Simultaneously, over 2,000 solar streetlights now illuminate high-traffic zones like St. Aloysius Catholic Church Road, Orie Umuobom Market, and Osina Market - enhancing security and nighttime commerce (Night trading). Over 230 Ideato students (100 in 2023, 130 in 2024) received grants via the *Ikenga Imo Annual Scholarship Exam* for primary to tertiary education. Ten institutions rebuilt, including: - County School, Akokwa, Comprehensive Secondary School, Umumaisiaku (laboratory block) Technical School, Umuokwara Akokwa , Central Schools in Arondizuogu, Uzii, and Umuaghobe.

"I reconstructed Afor Urualla Market with 30 open shades, revitalizing trade for more than 500 traders and vendors. 66 farmers trained in 2023–2024, boosting food security.

"I also sponsored so many motions in the House such as Rehabilitation of Oba-Nnewi-Uga-Akokwa-Arondizuogu and Akokwa-Umuchima-Mgbe-Orlu federal roads. Investigations into arbitrary fuel price hikes as Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources. These are just to mention but a few and I'm just getting started, I vow to make my tenure a reference point for people-oriented representation," he said.

The minister of works, His Excellency, Senator David Nweze Umahi, who's the immediate past governor of Ebonyi State, has reaffirmed his commitments toward ensuring that the incumbent governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, completes an eight-year tenure.

Senator Umahi pledged saying that nothing will stop him from supporting Governor Nwifuru for the next six years at the event of the Eid el celebration in Abakaliki, the state capital, during the weekend, where the Hon. minister hosted the Hausa/Muslim community and felicitated with them.

He described Governor Nwifuru as a humble and trustworthy ally who has never showcased an iota of betrayal to good governance for over sixteen years of their political relationship and expressed confidence that it was a divine act of God to choose Governor Nwifuru to lead Ebonyi State to its fruitfulness.

"There is nothing that will stop me from supporting Gov Nwifuru for the next six years; nothing will stop it. I've said that to him today. I said, Well, you have been with me for sixteen years, and there was no reason for me to have doubted you.

"There was no time that I found you a betrayer or untrustworthy, and so God cannot make mistakes for those sixteen years, and so since God laid it in our hands to fight for you, we will stand with you, because that is the will of God," he said.

Senator Umahi, who emphasised the need to epitomise the true nature of God, which reflects love for all people, also called for tolerance within the religion circles to build a prosperous and healthy society.

"Any religion that is not preaching love is not of God, so both the Muslims and the Christians all preach love and the fear of God," Umahi said.

The minister appealed to the Christian faithful across the country as well as the people of the southeast to support President Bola Tinubu to consolidate his detribalised leadership, which has given enough leverage to the aforementioned.

"It was the will of God, and we continue to tell our people that nothing happened unless God permitted it, and today, in the appointment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"The Christians in the appointment are 62% and the Muslims are 38%, so we have no regret with the Muslim/Muslim ticket because the most important thing is the dividends of democracy, and we are happy with interfaith relationships." Umahi added.

Dear Sector Commander,

URGENT CALL FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION AND POLICY REFORM ON RECKLESS ENFORCEMENT TACTICS

I write this open letter to bring to your immediate attention a deeply troubling incident involving personnel under your command who were seen in a viral video double-crossing road users along the Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway using an official service vehicle on the 3rd Day of June, 2025.

This act, apart from being grossly unprofessional, directly contradicts the mandate of the Federal Road Safety Corps as enshrined in the FRSC (Establishment) Act, 2007, particularly Section 10, which tasks the Corps with:

> "Preventing or minimizing road accidents and educating motorists and other road users on proper highway conduct."

The tactics employed in this instance recklessly swerving across lanes to trap an unsuspecting commuter is not only a dangerous enforcement method but a potential trigger for fatal road accidents. It encourages panic driving, abrupt braking, and swerving by motorists who are trying to avoid what appears to them as a road ambush. This kind of engagement has no place in a modern, safety-oriented road traffic system.

Moreover, such behaviour runs contrary to the FRSC’s public code of conduct, which emphasizes:

* Civility and professionalism in traffic enforcement
* Respect for the rights of road users
* Use of clear, safe, and lawful procedures in highway patrol operations

APPEAL

In light of the foregoing, I respectfully call on your office to:

1. Immediately identify the personnel involved in the incident and initiate internal disciplinary measures in accordance with FRSC rules and federal service regulations.
2. Issue a public directive banning the use of aggressive interception tactics, such as double-crossing or sudden highway obstructions, by your officers in Ebonyi State.
3. Enhance supervisory oversight of highway patrol units and retrain officers on lawful traffic engagement.
4. Use this opportunity to reassure the public that the Corps remains committed to safety and professionalism—not fear, intimidation, or lawlessness.

As a respected federal institution, the FRSC must not allow individual misconduct to discredit the Corps or endanger public safety. Holding officers accountable is not only just—it is necessary to restore confidence in your mission and prevent a recurrence of such dangerous behaviour.

Should no reasonable and visible improvement be observed in this matter within a reasonable period, this issue will be escalated to higher authorities and broader civil society platforms to ensure accountability and institutional reform.


The safety of every road user must remain the highest priority. This open letter is made in good faith for the purpose of public policy and well-being.
