Walspring: If you take commercial bus they will drop you at cms and you walk up to the traffic light and turns right and cross to the other side you will see those buses going to VI this should be before 6.30am, but if its not 6.30am just walk down to the pedestrian bridge and you see them there.
When you board it just tell the you will drop at check point and when you get there cross to the other side and you will see the embassy car park the keep going straight or you ask people at the gate post the embassy.
If you take BRT their last bus stop is at that pedestrian bridge after Leventis bus stop.
N.B-- kindly be careful and look left and right when crossing to the other side. thanks for the direction |

Pls VOs in the house, if a person tells the VO that she has currently a course of study in Nigeria that will end 1 or 2 weeks after the very day the VO will interview the person, on top of that, the Person's course of study start-date in US is still 2 months ahead. will it cause a total denial? |

innovativeame: Logically, their new policy will be effective from December 1, if you go there before December 1, you will definitely be attended to. Also, I'm sure you must have filled the new ds160 before the mail came in. The date will equally reflect on your New ds160, so worry less and pray more. Favour is your birthright. Thanks. U got it. U re there with me. U got the logic. |

Walspring: If you go to embassy with incorrect ds160 confirmation code, automatically you will lose your appointment date according to the new warning they sent and it wont be amend there...
You must change your ds160 before your interview date so as not to lose you appointment date and visa fee thank you Wals. I think I will go with the 2 ds160 in case if the new one doesn't work I use the firstly filled one. |

innovativeame: I hope u followed the procedures after filling the new ds160? If you haven't, pls do. After filling your new ds160 also ensuring that all the info and answers to questions are accurate, proceed to your appointment page, click on the Provide Feedback, send them a message that you want to change your ds160 code. Attach a scanned copy of your passport and the new ds160 confirmation page. You will be responded to within 48hrs (maximum). Afterwards, follow the rest steps as given by them. You may have to reschedule your appointment so that the new ds160 code will reflect on your appoint confirmation page like I did. Best of luck in your endeavours bro. Thank you for ur response. But if I follow that procedure, the no 1 problem there, will be that I will loose my appointment date. See, I want a way that I can change my ds160 code without loosing my appointment date. If I take my new ds160 to the embassy at the date of my interview, which is before DEC 1 , can it be amended there? |

Walspring: Okay but its just 3 months but they do ask for 6 months stating from June, July, August, September,October and November....
But why just the 3 month starting from September,October and November Pls U mean they do ask for 6 months bank statements, its amazing, but I have sponsor who makes lots of transactions, if I calculate the transactions made for 6 months, they cover more than 30 pages, U mean I will be expected to carry more than 30 pages of bank statements to the interview instead of having 2 or 3 month bank statements which are within 6-month of the interview date? |

If VO ask about what I have been doing in the past 5yrs and I say: I had a blue collar job as a packager at Bleep company from 2010-2012, then from 2013 l enthusiastically engaged in foundation course on mechanical engineering at Bleep polytechnic to have strong background in this field of study that I wish to study in US, which will terminate 15 Dec 2014 ( the reason for date is because I don't have certificate for it if asked, and my interview is 2 wks b/f this date). So how will this sound to the VO? |

Nairalanders please during interview, do the VOs normally ask applicants that have undertaken unofficial jobs and lower courses like foundation courses past years, to present their employment letters and foundation course certificates respectively. Because in my own case I have none, but have better reasons to present verbally. Na wetin people like me go do if dem ask for concrete evidence? Pls house me una chuk una mouth for this! thank U. |

honeyad: Bro listen up.., this is no dice game that can be tosed...if you don't make your research well and answer interview questions in an expected way, you will be refused, if you sound like someone that's not interested in studying, you will be refused, if you sound like someone who's not interested to come back after studies, you will be refused... The truth is if you had an experience in another field that doesn't correlate with your course of intention, it doesn't mean you will be seen as an intending inmigrant... Some peeps on this thread had over 8-10 years interval after their ssce and still got visa... You will likely be asked what you have been doing for 5 years and if you tell the VO what you are writing on this thread... I can bet you its an automatic denial.. I'm not a VO but you don't make a fool of them... There are things you could use as coverup..; something's can't be said on a public forum like this for several reasons.., pm gurus on this thread and get a better insight of what to expect! U be good adviser bro. U know in my own case, I just opened up my weaknesses, so that VOs in this movement go put mouth foram . If I hidam, U know I go become a problem for me before the VO at the embassy. Thanks |

Horayce: Since you said you've been employed full time doing informal jobs(also called blue collar work) to me that's a legitimate explanation for your educational gap. You could cite choice -- eg. to join the army, settle down have kids, experience the real world OR circumstance -- lack of finance, death of a parent/sponsor - as reasons why you did not/could not pursue your education right away. If your application is complete (Test scores/transcripts/financial docs etc) i see no reason why you should lose sleep over this bit. The VOs are human afterall and would not deny you a shot at your dream if you present a convincing and coherent case. Thanks a lot. I also have TOEFL IBT . Success can be predicted! |

GolfingDiva: A game of luck? Hahaha, you crack me up here. Obviously, you've been using some funny expressions ever since you became a member of this online forum. Do not use those words on the VO, except you want to cause trouble for other people coming next to you during the course of interview
Don't be so in a hurry to travel abroad and review the application you submitted online. Rectify your weaknesses first and go grab your own visa. thanks for ur reply. But can I still make changes to the DS-160 visa application form that I have submitted online? |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by portelli: 5:50pm On Nov 03, 2014 |
GolfingDiva: This kind of person can easily get his visa after he might have finetuned his skills here. So I am not laughing at him, but would rather give him some tips on how to succeed.
Self-sponsor will do the magic. Another is body language and then, finally, is at least a standardized test.
All in all, 5 years is not so much if he's really busy and can demonstrate it during the interview. After all, someone with 6 years gap got his visa for Bachelor's Degree.
Indeed, it's never too late to learn. l understand u perfectly clear bro. But not that I engaged only in extra moral classes for 5yrs! NO. I even attended this class on part time basis. I also work full time. Unfortunately this job is totally informal and also presenting job related matter may give a wrong impression to the VO that my intent is to immigrate. Besides that, I've submitted the DS-160 stating that I engaged in foundation level course w/o including the type of work that I've been doing since 2009. So house what should I do. Conversely, is it compulsory that I must be asked what I have been doing after graduation? At times this is a game of luck. |

Be plain and let the gurus give you the right advice that would see you through your interview l wish to major in mechanical engineering, for the past 5yrs after high school I undertook remedial or extral moral classes on these subjects physics maths chemistry f/math and English which are relevant to my major. So please what's the smartest procedure to follow? |
