anambra is not close to Ogun, oyo and osun states in crime. Your people are always looking for a little opportunity to paint the east bad. Many Igbos have had terrible experiences in the hands of Lagos Yoruba agberos but you don't see them complaining up and down on nairaland

Don't make it tribal thing.
The truth is that this a well know criminal act that happens daily at Upper Iweka Park.
Those criminals target both Ibos and non-Ibos.

I have ask this question several times and the response i got was “no one else is entering there. People only enter parlor”

So because no one is entering there you shouldn’t beauty the place? And make it look good? The smell that come out from some bed room can kill. The occupants might not be feeling the smell again because they are use to it.

How do it know? Just standing by some bedroom windows the smell can kill.

Change your hood.

Politics / Re: When Did Corruption Start In Nigeria? by portplus: 11:58am On Mar 15
jazzman7711:

Wrong.

Corruption REDUCED after the British left.

They stole 95% of our earnings.

Today, corruption eats up maximum 30% of our earnings.

That is why you can see development everywhere around you today, unlike the big bush that was 1950s Nigeria.
Sure you have seen the figures allocated to Deep Freezers. Street Lights and Bore Holes in the 2024 Budget.

I would love hear more about the bolded if you don’t mind. About our people taking it to another level, could it be poverty, lack of education, nepotism ? If poverty, then we are screwed because we are getting poorer day by day. If lack of education, how do we go about educating the masses on the need to kill this corruption? If nepotism , then we need to push for more powers to the states so states and local governments can be as independent as possible .
Nepotism...Yes.
Poverty....No (There are very highly placed civil servants and some comfortable people working in the private sector with sense of entitlement....they won't do their job without "collecting something").
For instance, if you want to fast track your request(s) in some places; as little as 1k can make a lot of difference.
It is so sad....
Am I guilty?...Yes....I have had to bribe(or show "appreciation"wink to facilitate some request(s) both in the civil service and private organizations.

It’s no longer news that corruption has eaten deep into the root of the Nigerian society. But I always wondered how and when corruption crept into society, and why it continued to grow to this level and is still growing. Are there factors peculiar to the Nigeria community that has fueled its growth? If there is , what are those factors and how do we tackle it? We cannot rid our society of this plague that has befallen us without answering the above questions.

Who introduced corruption to Nigeria?

British introduced it.
And our people took it to another level.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for the role you played back then when my cousins were kidnapped in kaduna, may you never know sadness. From personal experience, this act from the man is not a showoff, it is just who he is. May the woes of the almighty be visited on whoever is directly or indirectly behind the kidnapping and killings in the country.
