Except it is zoned to the East, the south will not be united. The East is the most loved in the south right now, the SE and SS will always vote together and they won't vote for SW. Everybody knows this.

As they say, you never can tell what will happen. We cannot say with finality that SE/SS will not vote SW. It depends on how SW play their politics. Don't judge by how some shallow minds interact on Nairaland.

It is obvious that the North is interested in retaining the Presidency in 2023. But the South West expects it to be zoned to them (in the APC). For 2023, South East is not in contention. They just want the shith@le to be restructured so that progress can return to the country.
The PDP will most likely present a strong Northern candidate. And the APC will most likely present a strong South West candidate.
I expect the Northern candidate to lock down the votes from the North. Same for the South West candidate for votes from the South West. Each candidate will need to win the bulk of votes from South East (and South South). Whichever candidate that wins South East (bulk votes) will win the Presidency. 2023 will be an interesting year politically. I see a lot of political realignments.

Stop dreaming about a united South. It's not going to happen. The intelligent Fulani elite know that and would exploit the disunity among the South (especially South East and South West) to get their way. As long as South East and South West are divided, the North will always get their way.

This decision is good, the governors are stealing money meant for local governments which are the reasons for no progress in the states. This is not to say that the chairmen are saints too, because they use the little the governors gives to them to carry women, build mansion and exotic cars you might think they are car dealers. They are all thieves. The youths will deal with chairmen of their respective state if their money is not well utilised, the decision is highly welcomed. In fact, it has been long over due.

Which youths will deal with Chairmen of Local Government? Yeah right. To give autonomy to the local governments, the constitution will have to be amended first.
