Hello family. I congratulate all who have gotten AM and pray for those still expecting this week and before the lapse of this month.

I wish to share my experience so far. Admission Jan 11th, Interview date 15th March. Submitted SL from my wife during interview. Enrolment deadline 1st week of April. Extended enrollment to Mid April. The embassy didn't answer me till my enrolment expired. I had to defer the admission without telling the embassy since the school runs only summer in a year. A new admission letter was issued to me by the school in August 2nd. Meanwhile I have been writing the foreign office and Lagos Consular to know update which they keep saying Visa under processing. Last month I got an email from the alien office asking for my new admission letter which I forwarded to both Consulars.

Today I got another email from the foreign office informing me that a positive statement about my Visa was forwarded to Lagos Consular, that I should contact them in regards which I tired calling them but to no avail so I emailed. However I wish to encourage everyone to be patience and believe that everything will turn up positive.

I will also want to know if anybody have gotten such email about *positive statement to the consular* Gurus your responses will be appreciated.

Danke.

I had my interview on the 18th of May, 2018. Funded BA before interview, all documents were complete, prepared very well for the interview, I prayed too. I wasn’t found wanting in any way. I was convinced I had a wonderful interview because my VO was friendly.. Now am asking, what really went wrong ?
……
…..
VO: that would be all, we would contact you in four weeks time to inform you about the condition of your application. Have a nice day.
Me: thank you you ma.

First week came and went by
Second week followed
Third week too.
On the fourth week, I was filled with joy because to me, nothing will make me not to get an AM
Behold forth week went by, no AM.
I was like : maybe it's because of the public holidays
Fifth week came, I was full of expectation. Days came and went by . yet no AM.
What really went wrong?

My brothers and parents were like: we thought you said you would get a mail in 4weeks time? Then I realized the fire on the mountain.

Sixth week came, I decided to write to the alien office , they replied that my details can’t be found in their database, that I should refer to the embassy.
I wrote to the consulate Lagos, they replied that my application is still being processed.
God what is happening? What is wrong?

Seventh week came, siblings and parents were already getting disappointed, I myself was even getting frustrated.
I wrote to the embassy again, same reply. The week went by. No AM.

"this is no longer ordinary...", I said to myself. fasting became my food, prayer became my water. Tears kept rolling. God what is happening?

8th week came... I made the church my Home. I kept praying for mercy.. I left the church 1:20pm on Tuesday,

by 1:52pm that same day, something slowly bounced into my Email.

Behold the Long awaited AM.
God has shown his mercy to a poor banished sinner like me.
Gott sei dank.

Congrats bro. I did my interview on the 15th March and till now no response from the embassy. Emailed both Lagos embassy and Alien office, I was informed my visa is still under processing from lagos and the Alien office said my data not found too. However, seeing your testimony has given me encourage that mine is on the way and cant wait to share it here. I wish u success.

Hello gurus, I just finished my interview now. Mr Paulinus was very very harsh at me but God power pass him. My enrollment date was 1-8 March but the skool gave me a letter that they will accept my late resumption since I didn't get an earlier appointment with the embassy. I was not asked about resumption date but showed the lady the letter just incase.

Congrats to those that have received. A.M will fall on all of us that did their interview today and those awaiting. This is a season of A.M. God blesses.

Hallo, long time, I've not been active in this thread. So I'm just here to caution those paying huge for sponsorship letter (Verpflicherklärungen)

Having a sponsorship letter isn't an assurance you'll get a Visa. I have two cases of refusal here, they both used sponsorship letter (Verpflicherklärungen).

This friend of mine got her sponsorship letter from a reverend sister and yet, she was refused, I was also informed the reverend sister has a high profile, is a citizen, also a nurse and well connected in Germany.

For your sponsor to be qualified to give you the letter is not the issue sometimes, your relationship with the person also matters, because without strong ties with the reverend sister for example, the Applicant might become a liability, the Allien office considers all these in forming a decision.

Most times, if the person is a relative, it's 50/50 and if it's non relative, it can be 30/70

Also, The German Embassy only have more authority on visiting and tourist visa. Long term stay like family re union and student visa applications approval or rejection is decided directly by the Homeland / Allien office in Germany.

The letter she received states that;

"Your means of subsistence in Germany is not ensured"

Only God knows what the Allien Authority have seen that made them say this.

And God knows best.

Please, find a copy of the full letter below.

Also, you need not to show that you're desperate, I've heard the case of a boy who used two sponsorship letters and he was refused on the basis that he's desperate.

I'd love to suggest that we think well before taking risks that'll later cost us a lot.

I heard having being refused once also has its implications on further application, let's do things right.

Thank you.

Thanks ibnkokumo for sharing this explanation.
I appreciate but what if the sponsorship letter is from your spouse? Hope it will be granted without any hitch. I was thinking of applying for a reunion but finally got an admission for summer.
Cheers.

Please, gurus in the house..
I have my student visa interview on the 16th of march ..which is next month and lectures starts by 09 April,2018.
Please I want to know if its possible for me to email the school telling them about how hard it is to book an appointment with the embassy becus of high demand in student application to german school so that they can back track my resumption date or give me a supporting letter so as to tell the consulate....and besides the school enrollment starts on the 9th and 28th of march......
Please I need advice as to wat to do because I learnt the applicant must have up to six weeks left before the lecture begins so as to enable the consulate do every necessary process .............
Please gurus I need advice as to go about it.....
Thanks.

I have similar situation with you and my interview date is 15 March. My skool enrollment date is 1st to 9th March while lectures starts by 20th March. I wrote my skool telling them how difficult it is to get an appointment and they gave me a letter informing the embassy that they can allow me to enroll late and pleaded with them to facilitate my visa process. I know everything will works perfectly. Pls any advise will also be appreciated.
I will brief you guys after my appointment and when I get my visa.

Why didn't you book February date? I have been seeing February dates of recent even till yesterday. Just cancel your appointment and rebook February.Another possibility is for you to inform your school to extend your enrollment deadline to April 30th and that embassy requires a minimum of 6 weeks between interview date and enrollment deadline, inform them that your admission letter either came late or the issue with booking in German embassy in Nigeria or both ( do not forget to attach your appointment booking in PDF as proof) . If you go ahead to do your interview on March 21 when your enrollment deadline is April 6th ,the probability of being rejected is close to one. A word is enough for the wise!

Greetings BabaEuro,

I appreciate your advice but I believe getting a late enrollment letter from the school will help while he try to see if he can get an AP this February.

Am not sure it is possible, because the embassy needs 6 to 8 weeks or even more to conclude on ur student visa application.

That is why the embassy all advice students willing to study in Germany to apply for the student visa on time so it would lead to visa denial.

My advise is for you to defer ur admission to next study session which is september.

But if u still wanna try, wish u best of luck!!

I advise you get a letter from the school for late enrollment. My school starts lectures on the 16th March but got an AP with the embassy for 15th March so i have a letter from the school for late enrollment. I believe it will work so I advise u do same.

There is a checklist for student visa, I would advise you follow the instructions on it careful.

Make copies as instructed and extras just incase, in my own case I made an extra copy each as against the normal two.

It depends on the time the lady is scheduled to have her interview.

If it's 7am, I won't advise her to go too far away from the venue due to the heavy traffic in Lagos. There is a small hotel that is cheap around 8k per night close to Walter Carrington. It's a 10-20mins walk to the embassy or you can just take danfo and stop at Walter Carrington junction.

Name of the hotel please
