There was a time we got a contract in UNN the vice councilor then was an ibo man but hardly give contract to ibo people he prefers outsider. If I begin to narrate my experience with some of our ibo employee it will take me a whole day. Unfortunately each time we complain to the management of the institution of what we are passing through in the hand of our employee and host community the reply we get is that na so our people be ooo

To be honest I used to hate igbo cos of my experience when I was in secondary .. I went to buy a phone and the igbo at the complex scammed me.. I went to buy a cloth and the igbo man sold a fake all stars and shirt for me at original price..

Pls nobody should say I was not smart o.. I don’t know what u expect a boy of 14 years to do that time .. a fully grown up igbo man wey Dey capable to give birth to me Dey scam me.. another one wanted to scam me early last year , needed a LG fan for my sister wey Dey go school.. I bin one go certified store naso this man double cross me and begged me to buy from him , I kuku man enter is shop and merely looking at the fan self u go don know say na aba made.. wetin kon get me mad was that he’ still Dey swear say na from lg factory that direct.. that shit pained me gan cos he took me like a fo.ol and this is a young man ..

I have lots of bad experience with igbo to be very honest .. and I’m sure not only me have such experience with them..
This doesn’t mean all igbos are bad.. but to be honest , when it comes to business, I trust Hausa pass igbo .

Also dem sabi play victim cards .. any small thing dem go Dey shout say Yoruba hate them.

And the way they are accommodated here ehn , I doubt If they can do the same ..

Na for yoruba land igbo go Dey hold plenty political positions ..

And yes dem sabi husle o.. an igbo man rarely complain about life like we yoruba

But regardless , I still respect igbo .. my closest guy na delta igbo and he’s the smartest person I’ve ever known ..

When I say smartest , it is not about business alone .. this guy has idea on any topic in this world .. very intelligent and good looking guy..

Would I employ an igbo ? Yes .

I hate to be blunt but Igbo people are the hardest people to work with.

... To cut long story short, they are will never give their all esp when it isn't their business.
They are very very very selfish and selfcentered

I applied for scholarship and when I wrote the exam, there was one Haruna Ibrahim seating next to me. the guy wrote nothing and I even tried to help him but he was too dumb to understand. when the result came out, my name was no. 2... I was so happy I came back the following day to submit the necessary documents only to be told I didn't make it. I insisted to look through the list only to see that my name was replaced with Haruna Ibrahim's. and not even a south south or south east name did I see there again. just like 3% of westerners and the rest are Housa Fulani.
does it now mean that the Fulanis are now more intelligent than the rest of the south?

After, the contract each if us wrote individual report n submitted it to the head office only for it to contradict what our Igbo team leader claimed.
A round table meeting was called and the guy was sacked n I remember d MD made a statement jokingly n I quote "it's like u Igbos need money than all of us ooo, maybe we should hold on for u b4 u sell all of us"......till now I learnt they haven't employed any Igbo till date.

I don't know what makes d Igbos think they are smarter than others n they need money than others
Actually they are smart but that smartness is strictly for their own pockets.
Any of their smart ideas that will better the company, they may never share those ideas.
Like your MD rightly said, them need money pass all of us (that is their mindset).

My project will be fully set up within a year I will also be careful with igbo appointments.

If igbos continues to see things as people hate them rather than infer rational lessons, there can't be behavioral improvement and betterment of the soul. It would pay you to listen to the counsel I raised. One side of me is from SE yet I dare to say what I say and stand by it.
You are already falling into the stereotype sin and I know you are doing this on purpose.

There are millions of hardworking and diligent igbo folks everywhere.
There is a particular lady i used in giving example while teaching in the church. Her name is chichi ( I had to stop once to ask her).
She works in a petrol station. Chichi is always on duty. In the rain, heat, early morning, late at night, summer, winter, storm blizzard, just name it!
I have seen her dispensing fuel with rechargeable lantern.
There are other staff there but they always leave by 6pm and leave chichi alone.
I thought I was the only one that took notice until one day i was in a vehicle and the man sitting next to me just spoke out and said"how I wish I have a company, I won't hesitate to steal this lady over to my company". I was pleasantly surprised!
I feel same way like the man too.

Now this is the story of one hardworking igbo person among millions!

Before now we were told that Isoko men are stingy. But I met mr paul and all that impression vanished! Paul can give you his last meal or kobo and starve just for you to eat.

Yes, but not because I was from another tribe!
I lost the job cos I was from same tribe as the boss.

It was 2017, position of ICT/Librarian in a popular big school owned by a popular church in PH. My university friend already working there recommended me. Pay was good, with free standard accomodation.

After the interview, where we had concluded on everything and I was supposed to resume the following month, I was asked to see the Principal abi nah director(not the pastor of the church/owner of the school o).

We got talking and we flowed. We even answered the same first name, everything was geling until baba said - "Let me have your CV, I think I misplaced the one the HR gave me". Next thing was "You're my town guy o, which part of Delta state are you from". I happily told him thinking that must be a good thing.

How wrong was I. He told me that changes things that the last guy from the state to work in the school didn't do me any favors as he took advantage of their kinship to misbehave and it nearly affected him so he vowed not to take a kinsman again. All my reasoning and promises ended with, "we'll let you know our decision". That was the end o.

Oga u and ur poverty stricken slavery company should shut up there. I worked for a company owned by a delta Igbo where 2 yoruba boys were duping the company seriously. They even claimed leave only to travel abroad for vacation. So now its good to say all you yorubas are thieves. Its God dat will punish all of u there. Useless bigots.

Let me also add that Igbo's are wired biologically not to work for anyone. They thrive impressively well in business and prefer to be their own boss.

A person with to hell attitude should just be his own boss and not work for anyone or government.

No matter how you try to hide it, nairaland is a place where i got to see the heart an average igboman has towards YORUBA. Filled with nothing but bile and unnecessary hatred. Yet I've met good igbo friends they just have this "yoruba person" thoughts all over them.
