It started with my card being declined and I reached out to Zenith bank on Twitter. I was told you add up a number on WhatsApp to chat with their customer care. I did and everything looked professional, honestly I had no idea that I was about to be scammed!

The scammer asked for my card details which I told him no, but he assured me that he is not a scammer. I sent it, but the card still didn’t work so I transferred my money to my dad’s account hoping to use his card, but the customer care kept disturbing me that they want to help me resolve it. I had to beg my dad to transfer back but he kept forgetting to transfer back and I was pissed!!!! I kept calling for hours till he finally did tonight and the customer care wiped off my account after I sent the OTP codes to him foolishly, thinking I was chatting with their staff!

After my account got wiped off, it was then I realized the mention on my Twitter was from a dorm account on Twitter!

I am in so much pains guys!

No bank or banker has any reason to request for your OTP or any other person details. You’ve learnt the hard way.
If they’re legit they can get any detail they need from their system.

Btw block the card and don’t fund that account till you have blocked that card and other channels

betting site sporty bet,they can simply take control of people sporty bet account and steal money from their bank,in ur case it's hard to trace them tru the bank since it may not even be their name/number registered to the bet account.be advised! your account could still be under threat since after the first transaction they may not need an OTP to carry out other transactions.

All these people would just come up with stories that I revealed my account number,BVN,or my card was stolen and my account wiped off,etc.
I repeat,even if you leave your card on the street,or you tell someone your BVN etc,no one can take money from your account without either an ATM pin or OTP in this op's case.
For someone to disclose an ATM pin or OTP to someone is where the foolishness lies.

why will you send all your full cards? bank might ask for your card but it will only be FIRST 4 DIGITS AND LAST 4DIGITS not full card

But even if you tell the whole digits can your account be wiped

A neighbor of mine fell into a similar trap and got defrauded of the sum of four hundred and twenty thousand naira. she got a call surposedly from her bank saying her account is undergoing a security upgrade and she will likely get a code which she is to text back to that particular number used in calling her, and not up to a minute after call was dropped the code(OTP) came him which she sent to them as instructed next thing mama start see alert. she still in confusion as we speak.

always check that the twitter account of Zenith is verified and marked with good sign... They foolishly try to do the same to me and I immediately know after I sent my account number, I received an otp immediately, they asked me for it and I sent them 419 419 ... Always be smart every time!! Don't ever say you're security conscious when you will fall for this cheap scam
