Sufferingboy: When Ezeh Obi Ossai was telling the British that his Aboh kingdom people were Eboes and that he Eze Ossai was the king of all Eboes, no Igbo man have even met with the British. Lol! I wonder who is forcing whatever identity on anyone. You can change your identity today. It is well within your rights and should be respected. But you must also recognize that shared history should remain sacrosanct and that one party doesn't have the right to change shared history without the other objecting. Ukwuani can stop being Igbo and start being Hausa , Urhobo or whatever they want. No Igbo man gives a dead rat. Not me atleast. But what you can't do is start claiming that anyone forced your ancestors to accept they were of same stock with the people you call Igbos today and that they were same people too. You can stop being Igbo, but you will not be allowed to denature the above history without resistance from us. You should not mistake our resistance for us forcing you to be Igbo. Get over yourselves, you are not that important . We are merely setting the records right. 9 Likes |

Ishilove: I'm here because Igbo was mentioned and because an Urhobo man is trying to claim that a town with "Umu" ( an obvious proto Igbo town naming preffix, just like "Shire" is to the Anglo-Saxons) is descended from Urhobos. That's a blatant history distortion and disrespect to my Igbo ancestors who left their footprint in those places for me as a descendant to defend them. I would have failed as a descendant if I allowed an Edoid Urhobo man erase such a glorious footprint without resisting him. If you don't want Igbo interference in your small towns. Fuc.k off our names and all vestiges of our footprints in your towns and your language. 14 Likes 3 Shares |

Ishilove: You're getting it all WRONG. It's not so much a question of Igbo supremacy or your people been forced to accept the Igbo identity... any group of people can choose to be whom they want to be, and to be honest your people don't offer Igbos anything useful in any context of worth imaginable for us to worry ourselves (except for the delusional IPOB elements of course). The question however remains, why can't you Ukwuani, Ikwerre, Ika etc and other Igbo - phobic elements just come together and decide to evolve a language of your own? you answer Igbo names, speak variant but discernable dialects of Igbo, practice Igbo culture/traditions...the reason why I'm actually worried about you minorities with Igbo appendages not forming your own distinctive languages and culture is because tomorrow when an Ukwuani man with identity crisis issues will start a coup like Nzeogwu did back in 1966, millions of Igbos will then pay the price instead of the Ukwuani people specifically! you can't keep answering Kenechukwu or Chukwudi, you then speak a pure dialect of Igbo and then expect me not to call you out when you spite my people for calling you Igbos, I means it's not rocket science! Sort yourselves out fast because the Igbos are not going to take the fall again for your sins, we learned the hard way from the Nzeogwu coup... never again are we going to be the Guinea pigs for the sins of some hopelessly confused bunch of usurpers with no identity and history of their own. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Sufferingboy: Lol! Tell that to the dogs. They plant Marijuana because it's a money spinning business. They are greedy and want easy money too. Just that they don't really have the wits like their cousins in East on how to go about it in more diverse ways. The marijuana way they discovered, all of them are going into it. Speaking of Greed. Is the entire Delta and Edo not the headquarters of Yahoo business in Southern Nigeria today, with HKs springing up everywhere and lazy but greedy youths all looking out for quick money without hard work all embracing the criminality? You are just angry you lots don't Know how to get rich through criminal methods like many Igbo youths do. The few avenues your discovered, ie Marijuana and Yahoo, all your youths want to die put on top of it. You don't have a higher moral ground than Igbos you like to malign, you are just not as sharp witted as Igbos in discovering and exploiting criminally existing but not easily noticed loopholes to acquire quick money. Cry me a river bro. Oka mmadu kalili chi ya! Go tell your Bini people to interpret that for you. . My ancestors colonized you by making you subservient to my language. Ighota go? We live rent free in your heads, in your names, your town names, etc. Okika diba na gboo! 6 Likes |

Ishilove:Ukwuani, is that a language in Delta state too? P.S I am Urhobo, both parents Urhobo but I know nothing about the Urhobo, I can’t even speak Urhobo self apart from the greeting which is migwo, nothing else but I could understand when someone else is speaking but can’t just speak it myself. I can speak Yoruba tho. I was born and brought up here in Lagos, only been to Delta state once for just one month or so when I was younger that is why that culture thing sounds funny to me as in wife go cheat but na husband go carry the consequence, lol it’s just funny for real |

Sufferingboy: Igbos don't usually play local league. We go big or go home. In terms of numbers, you have more percentage of your youths in Yahoo business, while the Igbo has more in number of high end players in the game. We naturally go big. In the East,a youth growing up and who can't go to University has the option to join trade( Igba boyi, which has even been studied by Havard University) or join Yahoo HK. All the option the Edo/Delta Edoid have is to join an HK, or Maybe try trek to Italy or Spain via Libya/Morocco deserts. 6 Likes |

Efewestern:It is spelt correctly, “Efejevwie” the meaning is just always confusing Some say something like “it is good to born wealth” or “wealth still dey born” or like the more you are wealthy, the more you give birth” I have heard different things sha but wealth is certainly there |
Re: Urhobos:orogun Urhobos Turning To Ndokwa. by Efewestern: 11:44am On May 12, 2021 |
Igboid: Can you point were I said Ukwuani is distinct from Igbo? Heck, I was referring to the Urhobo/Isoko whom one of your brother grouped under Igbo. Why can't you correct your people when they dish out wrong information but jump at messages aimed at correcting these falsehoods? Isn't this hypocritical? You are here trying to claim that an obviously Igboid community like Umukwata even with the quintessential Igbo prefix of naming places "Umu" in-situ is descended from Urhobos. I don't know where you get your historical facts from, but history states that the father of Orogun, Efe is related to Amai, Abbi and Umukwata. Any Orogun or Abbi indigene can confirm this. Similar thing happened to the Ijaw founders of Ofoni who married so much Urhobo women who invited their Urhobo brothers to come live with them for security, so much that the population of the Urhobo brothers overwhelmed those of the original Ijaw founders, and Ofoni ( an Urhobo speaking community in Bayelsa) is today Urhobo speaking, even though they maintain they are Ijaws, because the founder of the town was an Ijaw man from Tarakiri clan of Ijaw who married an Urhobo woman. Ofoni is different from Orogun, in Orogun, the Urhobos were able to maintain their language and identity despite centuries of ties with their Ukwuani cousins. But in Ofoni, they somehow managed to speak 100% Urhobo, how can a community that speaks 100% Urhobo be Ijaw? Isn't this fraudulent? Are you aware Edwin Clark's village is also bilingual? Why then are they regarded as Ijaw and the Urhobos in Ofoni that speak 100% Urhobo aren't Urhobos? @Bolded, even the ijaws don't regard Ofoni as one of them except when they want to play politics, or why did you think they voted massively for the opposition party? They never wanted an Urhobo deputy governor. |
