Never smoked or drank all my life. And I hope I never do till my mortality elapses.

OP is misrepresenting d idea behind the saying. Its clear from all the responses I am seeing. The central idea is that every man is capable of vice, which needs to be SAFELY ventilated thru, smoking, drinking or women, else he is SURELY doing it some other secret way. Meaning, he cannot be trusted, he is dangerous.
