I will advise you to go for the cleaner, as opportunity might come from the bank. You might get more information to the extent of them employing you as t least bank Teller.

This is what have seen.

I will advise you to take the teaching job with the following reasons:

1. You will have enough time to work on other things after closing hours, probably having another business, like shop that someone will manage for you before you close

2. School lesson means added money

3. You can earn from private lessons

4. If you plan to further your education, teaching is the best

5. You will be a little bit respected than a cleaner, Nigerians see cleaners as shit

Listen to other people opinions as you make your decision
Best advice. If you are serious minded and hardworking, you can even make as much as 40k with lessons or more. It also gives you an opportunity to meet parents who may be sympathetic to your plight and help you with a better job.

Please go for the teaching job... already if you are looking at the money....

the transportation has already eroded the extra 10k....

as a teacher...you have time to do other things...

your CV is been tooshed...

you have the opportunity to offer lessons to kids for more money....

your experience will open door for a higher paying teaching job....

as a cleaner...

...my brother...you will remain there with daily frustration

AT YOUR SPARE TIME.. START LEARNING FOREX TO EARN DOLLARS....

Nigeria is finished!!!!

Go for the bank job,not for the pay but for the exposure, you might get connected to higher offices while in the bank, even as a cleaner. You will meet new people and have new ideas on how to relate with people and if you are pretty as a lady, help might come for you from a customer who came to deposit or withdraw money that might be attracted to your beauty . You are too young to pass through teaching stress. Teaching job is static, u only get to meet same people, same pupils everyday except on a PTA meeting dat u get to meet parents and teaching job will frustrate you and make you look like an old woman unless you have passion for it... The bank job will expose you the more and you will have access to enough information and new updates while in the bank..... God will see you through IJN

Run from that teaching job. The owner of the private school will frustrate your life. You'll be static for years to come. You'll not have time for yourself, no time to apply for job openings and the small salary will be static for years.

Good day to all nairalanders and happy weekend to everyone out there.
After i graduated from the polytechnic, i decided to learn hair dressing and make up artist, i have just completed my service there, so i decided to pick up a job so that i can save money to get all the equipment for my freedom.
i would like to seek your opinion concerning the two jobs in front of me, firstly is the bank cleaner and the salary is 25,000 and the agent will be deducting 2k everymonth, and the transport is 200naira daily.
working hour is from 7:30am-4:30pm
The teaching job is just 15K, and the school is not far from my house, please i need your advice on which one to choose.

I guess you are from the West but I'll ask you some questions before profiling solution
1. Graduated from Poly with what, ND or HND?
2. How do you feed ?
3. Is that the only teaching job you can lay your hands on ?

Hello sir I like your contribution but I want to correct a notion

Parents are not sympathetic oooo they will capatilise on that and use her frustrate her too

Better still she should workhard and deliver then the parents and school owner will value meanwhile there will still be time to do her artist work as well.

#200 for transport X 30days= #6000

#2000 deduction

25,000-8,000= #17,000 this will be your take home every month for the bank job.

For teaching it is purely #15,000

Teaching would be better if

1. You're not teaching nursery school (because you will run crazy within a day without prior teaching experience)

2. You can add home lessons (this is always available)

PS: Some schools don't pay during the holidays. So do your enquiries well.

And You Think Cleaner Job or Primary school teaching is the way forward,
Please go add marketable skills and value to yourself.
Go to udemy and find a course related to your course of study and learn a little marketing afterwards come back in six months time to tell me if you won't get a job with better pay

I don't think you get it, the op said she wants to save up money to buy equipment for her own startup. It's obvious she isn't interested in a coorperate job.

Dear OP, can you look for something else? I think you deserve better. Please try to explore employment advertisements sites and apply for something better.
You didn't tell us your journey so far in the search to advise you.
It took me 6 years after graduation to get what is termed a good job. I know how many aptitude tests and interviews I attended let alone the applications I sent or vacancies I applied for.
If you choose the cleaning role, you'll be an errand person for even an OND holder, depending on the bank.

She deserves better as an HND holder.... My friend that is still in uni gaan got a job as a P.A and she's earning 90k.... She'd even be telling me that the money is not enough for her blah blah... Me if I see 50 sef I can manage it.....

OP please look for a better option....
