Another claim of the Watchtower Society about their New World Translation (the Jehovah's Witnesses Bible) is that it is pure and consistent:
In presenting this translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures our confidence has been in the help of the great Author of The Book. Our primary desire has been to seek, not the approval of men, but that of God, by rendering the truth of his inspired Word as purely and as consistently as our consecrated powers make possible.(9)

But when we check the Greek word translated worship when used for Jesus, it is rendered obeisance, but worship at other times! As previously shown, we see an attack on the identity of the Lord. Where exactly did the New World Translation inconsistently translate the Greek word meaning worship?
In Mt. 2:11; 14:33; 28:9; 28:17 the Greek word is translated obeisance because it refers to the Lord Jesus, but when the same exact Greek word is used at Rev. 5:14; 7:11; 11:16; 19:4; 20:4 and Jn. 4:20 it is rendered worshiped because it doesn't refer to Jesus.

The same inconsistency is shown at Jn. 9:38 and Mk.5:6. It is translated obeisance when referring to Jesus, but worship at Heb. 11:21 when it doesn't refer to Jesus.

Moreover, the same Greek word is found at Mt. 2:2; Rev. 22:8 and Rev. 19:10. At Mt. 2:2, when Jesus is the recipient, obeisance is again used, but in the other two Scriptures, when the Lord is not the recipient, worship is found! Jesus was worshiped in Scripture by Christians, but the Jehovah's Witnesses aren't allowed to worship him!

JW before believe that Jesus should be worshiped

So in a nutshell you're saying Jehovah is your God. Right?

If so then we have no issues with you since you acknowledge JEHOVAH as God {Mark 12:29} and do you also acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God? Matthew 16:13-19

If you do then we are on the same page! smiley

Bishopkingsley:

JW teaches rightly that God’s name is Jehovah and should be worshiped , but they teach wrongly that Jesus is not Jehovah and they say he should not be worshiped that he is , not God.

Thus, they do not witness to the true Jehovah, the great Three-in-One described in Scripture, but rather to a Jehovah constructed from a misunderstanding of the Bible and from their own thinking. Their New World “Translation” changes key verses showing Jesus is Jehovah, one with the Father.

Let look at the dishonesty of this mistranslation in the new world translation and the difficulty of trying to speak about the Lord Jesus to someone in this seven men organization JW because of it.

But we also saw that even their “version” shows Jesus as THE one true Shepherd, the owner of the sheep — and also shows Jehovah as the true Shepherd, thus demonstrating that Jesus is Jehovah.

In part two we looked at Psalm 110 in the New World “Translation,” which says that Jesus, on the throne with the Father, is “at the right hand” but in verse five names the One at the right hand as Jehovah. Thus, Jesus is clearly named as Jehovah, just as the Father is.

Psalm 110
4 Jehovah has sworn an oath, and he will not change his mind:*
“You are a priest forever+
In the manner of Mel·chizʹe·dek!”+
5 Jehovah will be at your right hand;+
He will crush kings on the day of his anger.+
Another new world translation showing Jesus is Jehovah below

Matthew 28:19 (New World “Translation”)

Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit,
This is quite simple. This instruction to baptise is accurately translated by the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” (though they wrongly dishonour the Holy Spirit by using lower-case).

The verse does not say to baptise in the “names” but the “Name.” It directly links that Name to each of three Beings with the words “of the.” “Of the Son” and “of the Holy Spirit” can refer only to that same “Name.” Jesus could have said “names” but He didn’t — “name” is singular, which tells us the Three all have the same Name.

Any “Jehovah’s Witness” can tell you — the Father’s Name is Jehovah, and Jesus makes clear that His Name is also Jehovah (as is the Spirit’s). When born, He was given another Name, Jesus (as Saviour), and He was also called Lord, Christ, and Immanuel. But His name before birth, through all eternity, always was and remains Jehovah.

Side note: The reference to only one name in this passage helps explain why there is no contradiction with Acts 2:38 and 19:5, where baptism is in the name of Jesus. When we baptise in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit) we baptise in a single name. To baptise in the name of the Three is to baptise in the name of One of the Three, as well. Thus there is no contradiction between a passage that says to baptise in the name of all Three and a passage that says to baptise in the name of One of the Three.

The “Jehovah’s Witnesses” have no explanation for the difference between Matthew and Acts, but the fact that Father, Son, and Spirit are One and bear the same Name removes any confusion.

Several differences between the NWT and legitimate translations include the following: The NWT has the Greek term word “staurós” (“cross”) as “torture stake”.

It leaves out the words “sheol,” “hades,” “gehenna,” and “tartarus”, where other translations translate some, or all, of these as “hell” (JW’s do not believe in hell).

The NWT uses “presence” as for the Greek “Parousia” instead of “coming” (JW’s believe that Christ returned in the early 1900’s). In contrast with the translators’ stated goals, these differences clearly represent “sectarian religious coloration.”

These might be laughable except that the NWT goes much farther with its mistranslation than this. The most important of these is how God is treated.

The Divine Name

The most noticeable change in the Watchtower Bible, and one they cite as proving its superiority, is the insertion of the name “Jehovah” over 200 times in the New Testament.

This word is allegedly a transliteration of the Hebrew tetragrammaton YHWH– although it does not appear in any Greek manuscripts. They claim that this “restoration” of the divine name (i.e., “Jehovah”) is required to worship God in truth (although Hebrew has no letters that would transliterate to a “J”!).

They fail to see God has many different names in the Bible and revelation shows God has a name which no one knows, and God has a new name we will call him in the world to come.

JW told you there is no hell fire guess that is the place those who reject Jesus end up those who don't believe Jesus is God Almighty are sent their to receive great torment in the lake of fire

Well that's how misinformed Churchgoers who wants to judge true Christians always do, once they are stuck in a corner they start looking for escape route.
JEHOVAH is the most high God! Psalms 83:18
And Jesus is God's Son! Matthew 16:16
JEHOVAH acknowledged Jesus as Son! Matthew 3:17; 17:5
Jesus acknowledged JEHOVAH as his Father and God! John 8:28; 20:17

Case Closed! smiley

The problem with you you don't even know the meaning of Jehovah

Jehovah definition is - God

Jehovah is a Latin name for God

Thus, the tetragrammaton became the artificial Latinized name Jehovah (JeHoWaH). ... The meaning of the personal name of the Israelite God has been variously interpreted. Many scholars believe that the most proper meaning may be “He Brings into Existence Whatever Exists” (Yahweh-Asher-Yahweh).

So we are not talking about just the father so when we say Jesus is Jehovah what it means is Jesus is God

So you are confused as usual the father is God that why we can say Jehovah is the father of Jesus

Hope you now understand this things that confuse your brain

Only when you understand the father has a special work the son has his the holy spirit has his own

Just like your body has his own work your soul has his own work your own spirit has his own work but all three is what makes you a man

MaxInDHouse:
What did your own copy of the Bible say about the question?

I have quoted God's word (Bible) so you don't even believe in those THREE Witnesses?

If you doubt Moses and David, are you also doubting Jesus? smiley

Well if you don't believe the Bible in your hand i can't help you in this condition! smiley

You read a fake Bible and you ask me that is what the bible said when that is not what the true Bible says

You can't even defend Jehovah meaning or the language it came from you just following what you don't even understand lol

Hahahaha so funny

In the old testament go read it in a proper Bible God identify himself with many names

Even in new testaments Jesus shows many names of God Jesus even show us that God is called the father

When Jesus was even leaving the world he commands us on another name of God to use

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

I Ask you this
Let me answer them

Let me ask again is Jehovah the only name of God....... No
And

Let me ask you more which language is Jehovah is it Greek or Hebrew or Latin or your yoruba lol

Jehovah is a name from Latin language so it can not be the only name of God

This shows how ignorant you are! cheesy
Go and read the preface of each translation, find out the text they rendered as "The LORD" before coming to disgrace yourself on social media! cheesy

I have passed your level!
I was once like you, arguing blindly until i was advised by a JW to read the preface of each translator.

For your information this is summary of what all of them say:

The original four Hebrew letters YHWH is used over 7,000 times as the divine name but since Jewish Scholars don't know the vowels inserted to pronounce the divine name due to the tradition of the Jews who doesn't want the divine name to be misused. The original pronunciation was lost so we believe that it's appropriate to render the divine name as LORD! smiley
But since Jesus God's only begotten Son wants us to use his Father's name then we must use it whether the Jews agree or not. The transliteration JHVH (JEHOVAH) has been in use for centuries in line with transliteration of other Jewish names like Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, Jonathan, Jeremiah, John and Jesus.
So JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES chose to restore the divine name back to it's proper places in the scriptures.

That's why when other translations found it difficult to translate Psalms 110:1

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES find it easy to say:

JEHOVAH declared to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.” New World Translation

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. King James Version

And who are blessed by the Author of the book?
Well it's the global family of peace loving worshipers who are preaching zealously and industriously teaching with the same line of thought in all our neighbourhood: JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES John 17:20-23

When all others are SCATTERED with their contradicting teachings and conflicting doctrines! Luke 11:23 smiley

Look for this words numbered 1 and 2 in bold in the picture below coming from the only revered Bible scholar in the history of the ORGANIZATION WTBTS.....

1. “It no doubt causes wonderment that God’s name, viz., JEHOVAH, does not occur in the New Testament, and neither Jesus nor His apostles are recorded as taking the name in their lips. In writing the New Testament in Greek, the writers of the gospels and epistles evidently followed the Greek Septuagint Version of the Old Testament, which also does not use the name Jehovah but uses the word “Kurios”, Lord, in translating the name Jehovah from the Hebrew text. “

2. “The Lord unquestionably arranged the omission of His name “Jehovah” from the New Testament, and has permitted the Christian churches throughout this era to overlook God’s outstanding name. “

You will see how far they can go to manipulate their words and members.

Point to note.....

1. neither Jesus nor His apostles are recorded as taking the name in their lips. In writing the New Testament in Greek, the writers of the gospels and epistles evidently followed the Greek Septuagint Version of the Old Testament, which also does not use the name Jehovah but uses the word “Kurios”, Lord, in translating the name Jehovah from the Hebrew text. “

2. The Lord unquestionably arranged the omission of His name “Jehovah” from the New Testament

That second point na serious laughing matter since God unquestionably have it omitted. Then, they should tell us when the Lord unquestionably want it returned back to the new testament.

The scattered teachings and doctrines within your own very religious group is enough to scatter all other 42000 religious group paapaa.

An excerpts from how those scattered doctrines and teachings look like is captured in the post above and the mentality within your religious organisation concerning the name JEHOVAH captured as below from someone......

"For me it has been a long standing contradiction that God has clearly preserved this name in copies of Hebrew manuscripts so that it could be restored in the O.T. and yet was somehow unable or unwilling to do the same for the more recent Greek manuscripts of the N.T".
