That’s alright. So instead of us spending so much time and energy on social media scaremongering and trying to raise each others blood pressures why don’t we use same resources positively by seeking solutions to such challenges.

Since there is so much interest in the matter of exchange rate of the dollar to the naira why don’t you start another thread and recommend actionable solutions such as; what goods or services can be exported out of Nigeria in return for dollars to take advantage of the growing exchange rate, how to create better remittances is it through the development of a mobile app, boycotting Western Union?

what imports into Nigeria are unnecessary and should be discouraged (for example building materials such as doors, roofing rolls, tiles, etc) then research if Nigerians can produce alternatives to such imports. If so quickly create opportunity by calling on the government to increase tariffs on those imports and give tax incentives to producers.

Should the CBN begin the purchase of raw gold from miners for dollars and begin refining such and selling gold certificates to Nigerians as a store of value while the Federal government apportions mines and issues licenses to the general public?

Whatever agreed solutions we follow up with some actions.

No dollar Should not equate to no Investment!

Even if you can’t get dollars right now, don’t leave your cash idle without investing it.
Cash left idle loses value faster than invested cash.
You can still invest in Abacus money market fund for risk averse investors and
some good fundamental stocks if you can take risk while waiting to get dollars.

All through 2022 and part of 2023, I expect Dollar to settle at N410 or so. There will be so much dollar liquidity in the world that people will even be scared of holding it.

After these periods, it's a different kettle of fish.

Some smaller African, Asian and Caribbean countries will end up using USD as their official currencies.

https://dailytrust.com/lagos-free-zone-emerges-first-issues-n10bn-non-fgn-bond

N10b worth of 20 Year Lagos Free Trade Zone Bond Priced at a 13.5% coupon rate. Was oversubscribed by institutional investors, including 11 domestic pension funds, two insurance firms, banks and HNIs.

My take: This looks like very good news about the Long Term for the Nigerian Economy. And tells me quality stocks with earning yields in multiples of 13.5% are good buys for an investors long term Naira Cashflows. And an excellent buy for the short term if the stocks expected dividend yield is currently above 10%
