Nawa ooo, omo everything you search for online have a thread in Nairaland.... you guys are the real MVP.

I did my biometrics on the 27th of September.
I had 4 invitation letters from UK Department of Education, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) , UK-based Non-profit who will be covering the cost of my flight and accommodation and the 4th on from an Immigration Law firm in UK.

My travel reason is to attend COP26 which will take place in Glasgow so my visa fee was waved.

My fingers are now crossed as I await visa decision. But I'm starting to get scared seeing people complain of not receiving any response after the 15days waiting period.

Good afternoon guys , would be glad if someone who's invited a parent before can advise.

I live in the UK, would like to invite my wifes mum to come visit for 2-3 months. I will be sponsoring the trip and paying all other expenses.

If you have done this before, please what documents did you submit ?

So far I have, 6 months bank statements, a savings account covering over 8 months , letter from employer, Council tax, me and my wifes passports, wifes birth certificate showing relationship to mother, her mothers retired but shes also got savings in millions of naira.
done this. Your invitation letter nko? Write one addressed to the mum and the other addressed to ukvi. State categorically what u are covering, cost of return ticket, whole maintenance, accommodation, feeding etc. from when to when. Why she is coming, u can drag the whole importance of family ties, how covid has affected this etc. .. then add few pictures possibly the one tht contains all 3 of you.
Then u need to show ties of the mum to nigeria, her husband, her other kids in Nigeria etc to establish good reason tht she will be comin back. If her husband is alive, u can include a letter from him stating he is aware his wife is travellin to go see their wonderful daughter bla bla bla and how he will be in the country thruout the time she will be away.. som ppl submit letter from church for moms tht are deeply involved in church activities etc. the list is inexhaustible

You don't need that many invitation letters.

Why attach a letter from an immigration law firm? Is it related to COP26? The letter from UNFCCC should have been sufficient and also that of the NGO covering your cost since you are coming for COP.

Goodluck though...

Hello gurus in the house please help me out.. I’m trying to prepare for my Uk visitors visa appointment and I want to be sure my supporting documents are complete. So I have a 6 months bank statement with a closing sum of 4M naira, I also indicated I would be visiting my cousin who will house me but that other expenses for the trip will be made by me (when asked if anyone will be paying towards the cost of my visit I selected no) .. Now my cousin who is a British citizen only sent me his British passport and a letter of invitation stating that he will be responsible for my accommodation and care.. Is this sufficient? Cos he says it is, maybe because I already stated I’m paying for my trip? but I also feel like he should be able to send his bank statement and maybe utility bill too.. Will the absence of these affect my application? Am I worrying unnecessarily? Since they will have his details provided will he be contacted to provide whatever else is needed? Pls gurus help me here.

This is for those who are considered as “fully vaccinated “, so they will need either a negative pcr test or COVID vaccine passport. If you are not categorised as fully vaccinated then you will still need pre departure Oct test, day 2+8 covid test and quarantine.

PLEASE HELP! @Giselle237 @Tutu.... and everyone here. So I sent a message here a few weeks back about my Sister's refusal for Standard visit visa, and the sole reason was because we didn't detail her savings info (which we just found to be a mistake from our end), and we are now reapplying. Is it worth using the priority visa service of £220, with the hope that it will be resolved within a short period? Or does the previous refusal make it difficult to get a quick response this time, if she picks the priority visa service option?

Unfortunately, you lied on an application and if your biometrics was taken i see no easy way of coming back from it.The information is now in the system and your fingerprints will identify you.
Yes you can come clean in additional information with details of your refusal but risk a refusal and/or ban up to 10 years.
Consider speaking to an immigration lawyer.

Now you have corrected the mistake, you can use the priority service if you please.Your response would not be quick but quicker than standard service.
Good luck this time around.

You don’t need his bank statement as he is only accommodating you so his financial strength is not important.
I would say British passport and invitation letter would suffice as the system can do a soft search. If you can plead with him to send a utility bill/council tax bill that bears the said address incase your application falls on the desk of a caseworker who uses just tick sheets.

Have you sent paid mail yet?
I think that helped me cos my friend who did 20th aug is yet to get any response she thought I was worrying too much and it will cause them rejecting me cos I’m putting pressure on them when I kept messaging them now that mine is out she sent a mail and they replied they will answer within 15 workings days . I think it’s always okay to send a mail after the standard 15 days so they can escalate.
