Marginalisation: Women Playing The Victim Cards by Godoverevery: 1:14pm On Oct 13, 2021 |
What is the point of sending a female child to school and empowering her if at the end of it all she still feels marginalised. Right from my primary school in the early 90's till this point I always competit with ladies on the same level ground...nothing was given to me freely because am a man. Is really annoying that people like ini edo and co will always come out to play the same old card of African female child/women are marginalised....this am a woman change is a total nonsense because is fellow women that mocks themselves. I will be analysing every sector and section of social life to prove this old lies wrong Education Just take a look around you and tell me which female child is actually stopped from going to school because of her gender......Right from my primary school untill university there were more female student than the male......we receive the same quality of Education so were the marginalisation?? Work/job Currently in nigeria is easy for a woman to get a job than a man.....Apart from the engineering sector which is dominated by the male most sector is dominated by the female(banks,medical,hotels,entertainment)...so were the marginalisation. Politics Nobody gifts anyone an elective post anywhere in the world rather you fight for it....Men fight for it with blood and sweat so if a woman wants to hold this post she must be ready to fight not expecting to be handed over on a platter. If a woman should come out to contest for elective post in this country even her fellow women won't vote for her....so were is the marginalisation Entertainment Is no news apart from music which men dominant the movie industry is dominated by the female who make more money than the male....people like ini edo won't question why they are paid more than there male colleagues in the same profession. Relationship/marriage Today in nigeria if you can not provide for your family u are useless man.....even in ordinary relationship a lady will expect you to provide things she needs..No money No love yet they still complain and play victim card. They can't date broke guys but will expect well to do guys to date a lady who can't even do a 1k sub for herself......they only have the right to choose but not men......were is the marginalisation In marriage you pay to marry her,you provide shelter, food, clothing etc...if the marriage crash you pay child support.....A full adult totally dependent on another and still feel she meant to be equal with him......were is the marginalisation State and federal government pays equally to both gender on the same level Private sector pays equally to both gender on the same level. I have a lil sis.....there was nothing I enjoy or had that she didn't get from our parent.....I challenge any lady here to tell me how she was treated inferior to her brothers. What is the point of sending a female child to school from primary to higher institution and at the end of the day she will be totally dependent on the man and will always feel she isn't given enough to be independent. The moment we start debunking the lies and stop victim mentality the better for the next generation of girls.....this lies is the reason why most our ladies are unproductive and lazy. Help the female child by letting her know she can do it on her own.....she can competit and no one can stop her except herself. Women stop spreading the message of victim mentality/marginalisation to our girls this 2021 not 1960. 328 Likes 54 Shares |

Tho the op had stated valid points, but I must really say this.....The little education I've got today as a young man who's in his late twenties,my mum played a major a role in it...Had it been we didn't lost her to an untimely death,I believe she could have even played more roles in my life than my dad... Like I do say toy friends, I'll always respect my female child as much as I'll respect any son of mine.........Girl pikin na pikin,no matter what..... 27 Likes |

Don't mind them. They will be crying marginalisation and shouting for gender equality but when it comes to rugged dangerous and blood curdling professions like combat soldiering, off-shore heavy duty rig work, electrical wirings (connection and disconnection like PHCN jobs which involves climbing poles and touching transformers with high voltage), they will remember they are women and dodge. They sheepishly cluttered themselves into competition with men by trying to compete in sporting events like soccer, basketball, tennis etc but what stops them from participating in dangerous sports like F1, NASCAR and MotoGP? You can't see them there because it is only men that deserve to "crash and burn" You see them driving flashy cars in the metropolis but how many women can drive a luxurious bus from Lagos to Abuja as a transporter? Ordinary Uber sef, they have left that one to men because "it will be demeaning" for them to drive while a man hails them, sits at the back and they take him to his destination. If there is any gender that is being marginalized, it is the male gender. 111 Likes 11 Shares |

This is the most stupid thing I’ve read all year. In a world full of people with obvious religious prejudice and Bias against women. It goes to show how Unenlightened and uninformed you are about the issue of women’s rights/marginalisation. 18 Likes 6 Shares

The vast majority of women in Nigeria are NOT in the category described by OP. They are indeed marginalized and expected to be comfortable being second class citizens and very subservient to men ----------------------------- Justbehave: How many women are like your account officer? Nigeria is approximately 50% women. Look at the business, political, church, education, etc leadership landscapes in Nigeria. How many are wome?? ----------------------------- angelfallz: Remember 50% are women. How many of the following have been women: Presidents Senators Governors House of reps Millionaires and billionaires Church leaders Top business owners Heads if universities Heads of the military branches Heads of labour unions Etc. Remember women are 50% of the population. What percentage of these do you think are women? ----------------------- Justbehave: The paternalistic society is stopping them. It is the way the society is structured. It is systemic. That's why they have a right to cry marginalixation. ---------------------- Decryptor: Not true AT ALL. The fault lies with the paternalistic society NOT the women. It is the way the society is structured. It is systemic. Only the rare woman can rise above the conditioning and expectations. ------------------------- SenecaTheYonger: Not true. There is something stronger than law stopping them. It is customs and culture. It is the paternalistic society. It is conditioning and expectations. It is the entire system. Much more powerful than a mere law! 15 Likes 5 Shares |

O.P, you are fast about this as I was planning to write something about this Ini Edo comment during the course of the weekend.... The truth is this ideology is one of the major problem that is destroying our society. Women playing this victim card has encouraged the formulation of loads of societal policies to protect them like an endangered specie while men has to pick the crumbs off the table Success is not handed out to men on a platter of gold, in short men do engage in unhealthy competition amongst themselves to get to the top but naturally concede excellence or success to a woman that can show enough grit and determination I work in IT field and can tell you men are not doing better than woman that believe their success lies upstairs in their brains and not in between their legs. It is more natural for a determined lady to get to the pinnacle of her career compared to a man that has to fight both tooth and nail to get recognition for his effort among the sea of men in similar space After careful study and a bit of anecdotal experience, I realized that the statement tries to provide comfort or solace for ladies with lazy mentality and mediocrity ideology. They blame failure on their environment or society without recognition of their gross incompetence in the management of opportunities around them In present day times compared to many years back in Nigeria, it's is much easier to solicit for sex with money or affluence because we are blessed with a large chuck of women that don't want to try but use every form of packaging to present prostitution in a acceptable and less damaging manner which is quite obvious in her- Ini Edo's, sector of the economy Anytime you hear people say that around, tell them to make research on the percentage of women enrolling in traditionally male dominated courses and see how well they are doing, the number of female financial institutions CEO in Nigeria and the world at large speaks volume of my submission 43 Likes 4 Shares |

Well it really is a shame the extent some women have taken this nonsense about marginalization to. You have to wonder if they just feel and believe because they're women, everything should be given to them. To me those women who have this mind set are women who feel entitled. This thing called "entitlement mentality" is very prevalent in women ( I'm not saying men don't have it). It's prudent to avoid such women. Whatever you say to them will never sink in because, their mind is already programmed to believe they're marginalize because they're women. 9 Likes |

Bunch of delusionist, those ones. I've always tried to understand how women are being marginalised in this country yet i can't see it. Except for the core North,Nigeria women literally have it better than most men. Hoping to get things on a platter, while hiding under their marginalisation agenda.Who's suppose to pay the price for you just cos you are female? If you want to succeed in any sphere, better fight hard for it,else get ready to be stuck in a spot for very long periods, male or female. 29 Likes 3 Shares |

This claim by female is sickening.......I once asked my boss the gain in sending a female child to school and the advantage of employing and given them roles. When it comes to intelligence, you can't compare women and men though....this difference is large....... If I narrate what happened between me and my very intelligent wife yesterday ehn! You go laugh their intelligence capability.....well she no believe in equality to start with.... Being male is even a disadvantage in many discussions nowadays. 17 Likes 2 Shares |
