Lagos State encourages and harbours touts more than any state in Nigeria. As a result, there is a large number of people who are willing to key into any protests to loot and destroy things. It's a good thing to remember those who lost their lives during the EndSARS protest.

However, this must NOT be done with another protest. It could be in a square (TBS), big hall or online. I can imagine how much that protest that was hijacked by jobless hoodlums cost Lagos State and other states in Nigeria. Protests are good but we must NOT destroy the little progress we have achieved over six decades.

In fact, the military should be deployed in strategic places across Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole. When these senseless protesters see battle-ready soldiers, no be person go tell them to go back.

People are only interested in protests, but nobody asks how those whose businesses were senselessly destroyed (or means of livelihood ruined) are faring.

Some activists have demanded that the Lagos State Government must not allow Lagos to be burnt down again like it was last year. They say that they will do everything possible to prevent a repeat of the riots that led to the burning down of the Lagos DNA and Forensic Centre, the historic Lagos High Court at Igbosere Road, the Nigerian Ports Authority Headquarters building, several police and fire stations and several BRT depots, including newly acquired BRT buses, etc.

Here are screenshots of some of their messages.

Nobody wants to burn lagos. If Army did not invade and shoot at lekki protesters on 20/10/2020, there wouldn't be carnage that followed. Every action has consequence.

Visit the UN page and educate yourself about fundamental human rights: https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights

That Nigeria's political leaders place more values on cows than human lives, doesn't make what's wrong right.

Organizing or taking part in peaceful protests and demonstrations is legal anywhere in the world.

The last one was quite peaceful.

Lol, these are not "activists," these names here are just APC/Buhari attack dogs. But I agree with them, no room will be given to any #ENDSARS bastard to burn down my Lagos again. The worst cases of SARS atrocities happened in Awkuzu SARS, Anambra. Everyone should go to their respective states to protest. We still remember how the deplorable animal Nnamdi Kanu called for Lagos to be burned now. Never again!

Instead of those posters on Twitter to urge the government and security agencies to monitor the planned protests and prevent a breakdown of law and order, they're discouraging Nigerians from exercising their fundamental human rights as regards organizing/partaking in a protest.

What we should all clamor for is peaceful demonstrations, not outright ban of protests like some political elements on Twitter are doing.

Brainless people.

The protest organizers need to ensure political thugs don't hijack the protests and thwart the patriotic efforts of brave Nigerians demanding good governance, accountability from our political leaders.

Break down of law and human right kee u there.

We say no to any form of riot and protest. We are yet to recover from the mayhem of 2020 protest.

Many of you are not still getting the point. Is it the right of the citizens to protest peacefully? Yes it is. Is it the right of the government to provide security? Yes it is. Now the government failed, instead they were deploying thugs in SUVs to go disrupt peaceful protest which doesn't make sense in any way. No protester with playcard will dare a uniform man with gun. Lagos state was burnt down because the government failed in it's duty to protect lives and properties. Now I expect the government to be strategic in dealing with protests henceforth, not just by intimidating people telling them there must not be protest. These guys wanted to use a hall for the remembrance and they were able to secure one, only for the owner to say no later after they were threatened. Of course aftermath of riot will hit the citizens the more than the government, but a sensible government should prevent such riot systematically and not by clamping down on people's right. Nevertheless, if the government is not ready to protect protesters, I think everyone should just take fate and allow things slide.... We will be free from this wickedness one day.
