What do you mean by a better image? Do you mean he's "more liked" by people, more popular? Charming or charismatic? Shining more brightly than those around him?

If that's what you mean and the person is not your superior, continue talking, unless you're sure no one wants to listen to you. There's nothing you can do in this case. If people find him charming and likeable, they will be willing to listen to whatever he's saying irrespective of whether he's saying the right thing or not. That's one of the advantages of being likeable and charming. This was all discussed on this thread.

Yeah, that's what I meant.
Thanks

I realised something while reading Robert Greene books. The men of the past don't have strong distractions to deal with (video games, social media, tv, gambling, porn etc). So, they had all the time to master, plan, imagine, create, and perfect their act of deception and manipulation.

It's hard for the average man to ditch them.

The power of posturing during conversations should not be underestimated.

I have some few non verbal cheats I use in my day to day activities most especially when I am dealing with my customers.

*Lean in slightly when the other party is opening up on their sensitive personal issues, it shows that you care or at least pretend to.

*Lean back a little to show non verbal skepticism especially if you are discussing with a superior, your non verbal will most likely be picked on and you will be offered the chance to state your counter arguments.

*Lean back slightly to one side if you perceive you have just been lied to, keep quiet and maintain a dead stare eye contact, it does wonders if done correctly.

*Lean back then immediately lean in then drop your head and raise it up followed with a dead stare if you want to make a threat, whatever comes after this move will rattle who you are aiming at.

There are more but these are what time permits me.

I watched the peaky blinders s1e1 to s2e3. I observed that Tommy use two laws of power to manipulate his brother John.

1. The illusion of choice: The marriage between their gang and the Lee family
2. Using people fantasy: The beginning of his expansion to London. John want to raise chickens grin cheesy. He gave John a taste of the power to come if the expansion is successful.

The power game is one that requires self control. If you can't control yourself and react emotionally to everything, then you'll suffer in the hands of others. Someone insults you, trying to tempt you into a fist fight? You ignore and not fight them, because even if you will win, you actually do not know their plan, if they carry a weapon, or as a reason to ploy a devastating revenge.

Not every battle is worth winnin. Some battles even if you win, the cure is worth than the disease, and emotional reaction is a wrong method to determine battles worth fighting. Self control is the destination, emotions, tantrums and provocations are like the barking dog, rain, and smoke.

If you can't control yourself, you'll be a slave to everyone, everything, and you've killed your unborn self. For example, sleeping with multiple women, risking pregnancy and disease, or being addicted to financial holes such as smoking, clubbing materialism etc, habits that could be tackled with proper self control.

Controlling yourself is the greatest power you can ever have. Just as a ship only sink when water from the ocean goes inside it, a man that cannot control himself will be sinked by the world. You'll easily fall for everything, and never reach your full potential.

No man is free who is not master of himself. Epictetus.

Know the differences between winning a battle, and winning a war. Winning battles without winning the main war is useless. As long as a man liveth, he will always be faced with these decisions. So how can you tell the differences? Let me paint a Real life scenario of what happened to someone I know few years ago.

After he broke up with the mother of his child who was a cheat, it becomes the beginning of a legal pandemonium that would determine if he (Let's call him John) will equally be a custodian to his daughter. The lady (Lets call her Jessica) wanted full custodian of the child, but as a father that loves his daughter, he refused. Months passed, and unsurprisingly, Jessica was busy looking for evidence to show the court that he has been an abusive father.

Jessica then claimed that he is sexually abusive to their two years old daughter, and since it was difficult to prove otherwise to such allegation, any evidence of abuse from him will be admissible by the court, and will be used against him. His emotions was tensed, anger and bitterness everywhere, as he navigate through the thin layer of evidence to proof his innocence, since the burden of proof rest solely on him.

In one of the court proceedings, he argued that Jessica was a serial cheat with proof, and not fit to be left alone with their daughter, that she would be badly influenced. And as they were both defensive, insult ensued, and he called her all kinds of names. And that was it. The court got the evidence they needed to nail him to the cross. The judge argued, that if he can be emotionally abusive to her with the name callings, then it is not farfetched that he would do so in front of his daughter, or to his daughter directly. And even if it was true that he was not sexually abusive to their daughter, emotional abusive is not acceptable either.

And just that little emotional outburst, even though true that she was a serial cheat, he lost custodial right. Of course that was not the end of the legal battle, but you got the point. He won the first battle of proving she was unfaithful to their union, but because of his inability to control himself, he lost the main war. He satisfied his ego by raining insults on her to make her feel bad for being unfaithful, but well, that was enough to shoot himself to the leg. To win a battle is emotional, to win a war is rational.

If he had controlled his emotions, then his case would have had some merits because he proved that she was unfaithful, with a potential to corrupt the child, while Jessica's allegation is just an allegation, not proof. Making her equally guilty, with a potential to not be granted the sole custody for the child.

So in anything you do, do not be a slave to your emotions, for it would lead you astray. Lots of people suffer in life because their emotions control them, instead of their sense, and even worse when the odds are against you. Dear brethen, be vigilant.

Humans were programmed to act in some way, the people who succeed are those who were able to reprogram or detach themselves. These distractions were created by those in power to keep average people distracted and in control. If you don't control it, it will control you. Nowadays, you'll find it difficult to find someone truly ready to improve their situation. These are what's whiling away most people's time and energy; and sometimes, without them realising. It is now left for you to be consumed by it or be saved from it.

Very good. Many people overlook the power of posture and eye contact in conversions or social gatherings. Just maintaining strong eye contact alone with a woman can make a woman confused about what to say. That alone builds sexual tension if done the right way. If you're shy, build up your social skills. It takes practice.

No. You can be successful without being powerful. These are two different things. But as you become more successful in what you do, you rise in power also. Of course, power moves with money or resources. You should also note that power and success are not mutually exclusive.

As you rise through the hierarchy or any area of profession, you gain more grounds and more power and you'll be able to break more rules and also get away with it. For example, Aliko Dangote is both successful and powerful. Cristiano Ronaldo is both successful and powerful. So many music artists are successful in their career but powerless and likewise business owners or footballers. Power isn't limited to those in politics alone but also spread through other areas.
Thanks

Nice one. Thank you. I will check it out in my leisure time. But there's a reason why I avoid religious discussions on this thread.

1) Muslims, Christians and atheists are viewing this thread.
2) In order not to cause religious sentiments.
3) To accommodate people with different views; to view life from people's perspectives.

Trust me, I'm very vast in the knowledge of both Christianity and Islam at least to a degree that I could point out similarities and differences between the two religions. I made it my side study when I was in college. I'm even writing research on the correlation between TRP and Religion presently, although that would be my personal work that won't be shared. Religion will still be one of the most controversial topics or subjects to be based on that's why I normally avoid discussions on it unless when pressed to do so.

I'm not saying I won't check the book out or I will, there will surely be one or two things to learn from it, but I don't normally answer questions on religion or my personal beliefs. I believe everyone has the right to follow or believe whoever they wish to, but one's knowledge shouldn't be limited to one's religion or area of study. You should seek to expand your horizons. Thank you once again.
Most people were conditioned to believe a particular religion, hence it fear of losing the fragile faith that prevent most of us from having knowledge about the other religions.

To your question: Yes, they are Machiavellians; by using cunning or manipulative ways to exploit or harm unsuspecting victims.

Addendum: Machiavellianism can be said to be "morally neutral". It can be used to achieve good or do harm. I won't be responsible for any of these choices you make. But one should note that, you can't go far if you try to play everything by the book or by being "too moral". For example, if you see an opportunity to jump the queue in a bank, will you still stay behind the queue or use the opportunity? That's a question you should answer.

The knowledge of Machiavellianism is what every man should equip himself with in this cold world. These knowledge isn't necessarily needed to harm others physically, but to sharpen your senses.

Like IM said, "For man, Machiavellianism is predominantly a vocation learned. Few men are naturally equipped with Machiavellianism tendency, let alone apt in employing its devices. Some are raised in challenging environments which imbue these traits from a young age, but rest assured, Machiavellianism is a female instinct and a male art form. If man does not pursue Machiavellianism as an art form, a vocation to be learned and practiced, he can never you hope to be half as cunning as the typical woman.

Throughout human existence, women have been the physically weaker sex. As such they have needed to evolve subconscious strategies to covertly manipulate men in ways that benefit their sole needs. Majority of men are effectively clueless in matters of Machiavellianism. Women on the other hand are Machiavellians as water is wet. You'd be hard pressed to find a woman who isn't Machiavellian. The idiotic man is limited most by morality, the intelligent man, by rationalism, and the woman, neither."

Without the knowledge of Machiavellianism, you can't even fully implement TRP principles. If you're well vast in the knowledge, handling women won't be a problem for you. You'll get to understand how manipulating the average woman can be and how to handle or deal with them accordingly because that's her primary weapon. The phrase "idiotic man" in the above statement can be said to mean someone who sees treating women nice as being equivalent to getting their love. The innate Machiavellian nature of women will make them friendzone him and use him for their own selfish interests instead of reciprocating his love. He ends up disappointed at the end.

This knowledge is needed to scale through life. It makes you understand the human psychology better than even studying psychology itself in school. You get a better understanding of how to interact with people. Also, this knowledge can also be used to harm people, depending on the person equipped with the knowledge of it.

"Machiavellianism is the art of welding power, how it's wielded is determined by the wielder's morality or lack thereof. Don't blame the strategy, blame the soul of its employer." - IM

By being cunning, you will learn not to be too predictable. Being predictable can get you killed. You'll also learn to hide your intentions, because people can use your intentions against you. You'll learn not to trust easily, people can be so fickle minded. You'll learn not to outshine your superior, so as to avoid being devoured by his power or authority. You'll also be able to develop your charming or social skills to manipulate people to achieve a common goal. These are just the least things you can do with the knowledge of Machiavellianism. If you're too moral, you'll think "Let me be a straightforward person", but unfortunately, people will take advantage of your nativity. Machiavellianism is also employed in winning wars or battles. Striking when you have to, retreating when you have to. Most wars in history aren't won by those with the best weapons, but by those with the best strategic planning.

In business, the use of Machiavellianism is employed when creating ads. If business owners were to be sincere with their ads, no one would patronize them. Cunning methods is also use to surpass their competitors. If you think by being moral and trying to play everything by the book will do you good, you'll only be doing your enemies favour. In politics or an organisation, the knowledge is used to remain in power and to keep people in control. This "control" can also be classified as damage control or as a fail safe to protect the people. For example, a mobile phone company might just pretend to change the design and add a few gimmick specs to gain more profit. Nothing can be more cunning than this!

You can gain more from people without having to physically harm or exploit people as the case of internet fraudsters AKA Yahoo boys. By being competent and having valuable skills is enough to make people even pay more for your services. By having a solid reputation is enough to get people patronise and pay you more than your colleagues or competitors. Sometimes by only having great communication or charming skills is even enough. Get what you want, cut corners when you have to but for me, don't scam. But that doesn't mean because you don't scam people, people won't scam or harm you. It doesn't work that way. The knowledge will make you aware of that. "There are many reasons some people make more money than others; crookedness is one reason, but not the only one." - CM

As long as people gets the services they pay for, no matter how much you charge them (even more than the usual price), they won't feel annoyed. But when people pay you for your service and you scam them, that's when they will pounce on you and nothing is more damaging to a reputation than when people begin seeing you as a trickster or a scammer. Don't shoot yourself in the foot. You can get yourself jailed.

So I hope you got the message passed. Thanks. #Modified
true.
