Dear nairalanders, Good morning and happy Sunday. I want to know how this canadian proof of fund works, I have a sibling who wants to sponsor me but the amount needed for the sponsor will only be complete by month end. Can I apply for the visa immediately it is complete or I will have to wait for about 6 months to show his Banking history before I apply?

I also want to ask if one can have co-sponsors.
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

You can apply when you want as far you can explain the source of the funds with valid Documentation. People who wait six months may want to avoid the trouble of explaining funds as it makes the application more complex. As we know simple applications are more likely to be approved. It's down to you.

Please I would appreciate if my questions can be answer. I am a may applicant and sometimes September I received a correspondence letter and last week I received a request letter to upload a renew passport as I have less than 6months now on my passport.
Is this a positive sign as the request letter came after the correspondence letter?
Thank you all as I will be in the comment section

A moniker once mentioned that there's a possibility this thread is being monitored by IRCC. Talking about borrowed funds knowing full well that it's not acceptable. Any sensible person here wouldn't advice you to borrow funds. I remember once when abingwa on youtube also mentioned that IRCC delayed him for 6 months before giving him a visa and on the 6th month they requested an updated bank statement. According to him they suspect he borrowed these funds. Maybe this is even one of the reasons our applications are taking so long in general. Who knows?. In any case if you decide to use funds just keep these points I've stated in mind.
Fawaz12345:
Hey guys so this proof of funds is becoming a problem for me. Can I use borrowed funds for the application which will later be removed after printing mbs ? But I’ll show evidence that the money is for some goods bought from us. And the account is very familiar with lump sum, my dad is into steel and iron rod and other stuffs.
And have you seen anybody approved with lump sum?

I’m talking of like 20m

The thing is that there is actually money but it’s not available now.
My mum makes a contribution called AJO
She contributes 3 million every month for a year which she later collects 50 million I think.
So she’s going to collect the funds in June but now it’s not available and I don’t think ircc will understand that

To those still expecting an approval including my hubby, this month will not pass you all.

Thank you Peju, the funny thing is i took it better than i expected. Each time i remembered that i have been served breakfast, i go just dey blush. We will all have our success stories soon in Jesus name.

Good evening house. I've been a silent member of this group for a sometimes now. I'm a Nigerian but reside and work in the gambia. I teach in an international school. I've just secured an admission for a 2 year PGD in strategic global business management at conestoga college for spring 2022 . I'm preparing to apply for visa soon but I don't know whether my statement of account would be adequate to pull me through as I am going to sponsor my self. I got CAD24,000 in my personal account, please note that I have paid first semester tuition. I'm using my dad as support and he equally got about CAD 12,000 in his own account. Do you think those statements will be enough to take me through as per proof of fund sufficiency? Experts should please analyse and tell me If I have any chance. Patiently waiting for your responses.

Hi Marina, on the surface the funds seem enough but is the 12K cad the totality of the funds in your Dad's account? He will need to state the amount he will be contributing to you and it must not be the whole amount in his account, because he needs to show that he still has some funds to take care of his other responsibilities. Also you are going for biz mgt course while being a teacher, how will you explain your career progression? Teaching and Biz aren't related. Do you have study gaps? Kindly look at this when drafting your SOP so that you are not denied based on purpose of visit.

Hi Bank, You can have co sponsor but please note the following
1. The funds have to have history ie there has to be evidence of what the sponsor does to make money.
2. It is always better to show at least six months of banking history of the sponsors account to show in and out.
3. The sponsors must state how much they are contributing for your which should not be the whole amount in their accounts.
4. You must show close relations with the sponsors(pics, previous helps sibling) though some people have scaled through with showing this.

Hello Henrie

She can try for a Masters' even with her 2:2, but truth be told, it is difficult getting a Masters admission with a 2:2 because of competition from 1st class and High 2:1 graduates..

A PGD will be ideal for her(less competition), but most times we advise applicants to go for a course related to their work experience especially if the said applicant has finished school more than 5 years.. i.e if the applicant has been working for over 5 years, then he/she should go for a course related to his/her work experience..

And if the applicant wanna go for a course relating to the 1st degree, then the applicant should do a lot of work by convincing the Visa Officer on the reason for going for that course despite not doing anything relating to that course for so many years..

Peace
have u seen this type of case before. 1 year and 1 month .IRCC records confirm that your application has been referred for an eligibility review at the Canadian visa office in Nairobi. A referral means a case is no longer straightforward and will, in most situations, lead to delays in processing.

Although I cannot provide you with an exact date of completion, immigration officials will contact you should they require additional information or documents, to schedule an interview, or once a final decision has been made.

Fawaz, I think you need to give yourself some time to get the things for your next application, age is on your side, defer the application, get your dad and mu to build the a specific account for your education expenses( all trxns into the account should be labeled Fawaz's edu exps, at least four months build time, use that time to draft your LOE do other things to build your home ties, look for non for profit org in your mosque or community and join them as volunteer, but ensure you document it and thereafter submit your application.

ETA is not required for US citizens. Just your child's international passport would suffice and maybe a copy of his/her birth certificate just in case the guys in Lagos start acting funny.

Thank you residentourist..i actually read your landing gist and i noticed you faced similar questions from our Lagos airport people because you also used Lufthansa. It is Lufthansa document checkers that are requesting for this . I have read in one of the posts that some people were asked letter of Authorization before they can fly with the US Citizen minor. The only letter of Authorization i know is letter from the father or mother who is not travelling giving consent to the spouse to travel with the US citizen minor & a copy of the spouse passport biodata.

Please confirm if this is exactly what you did before they allowed you to board with your kid.

Good day all,
I need some help. I have been able to secure a supervisor at a university who has told me that my salary for a year would be 20k cad. When showing POF, should I mention this or should I apply like it's not a part of my funds?

Also can a sponsor like my uncle transfer the whole money and declare it with a gift deed?

Check Seneca College. Their refund policy in case
in visa denial is not bad. They just deduct 200 dollars administrative fee.

The challenge I faced was because one of the ladies at the check in desk kept turning the passport upside down as if somehow she'd detect it's genuineness by doing so (lol)I had to show the birth certificate to put her mind at ease wink cheesy
Yes you also need a letter of authorisation from your spouse (if travellingalone with the kids) as well as the copy of his passport data page(this was actually required at the POE just before our permits were issued)
Don't forget to include your child's details on your ARRIVECAN submission and your COVIDtest results.

I was even going to recommend you ask her cause she specifically mentioned it was just the kids PP that allowed them to board. She has re-confirmed it is not required from her response here . Even the screenshot on your post mentioned it is not required... but if you find more information, I will also like to know cause I am flying Lufthansa with my son who is an American citizen too...

Thanks for this info. For the Covid test, children below 5 cannot take the PCR test right? So for me, will it be his PP details that will be required for the arrivecan right?

You do not need ETA for him . I have minor traveling with me too and I was told same . I think all you need is his US passport.. I plan to also carry his birth certificates and Social security document. Don’t forget to also carry authorization letter from his dad

Thank you Residentourist ...@ Jojorito007..i dont think social security is necessary as it is a very sensitive document . Those Lagos airport people are just over zealous.. Passport, birth certificate and Letter of Authorization(consent) from spouse is sufficient enough as confirmed by Residentourist.

However, if any one else has a contrary experience/opinion, kindly share.

I am a bit worried on some issues related to students visa application requirements. My tuition fee is $12k CAD and from my research student must have at least $11k CAD for his total expenses per year. My case here is that, I will be able to raise the POF of $30k CAD but the problem I have is that if I submit my application VO will want me to submit my salary account statement but what I earn monthly is not up to #100k Naira, won't it be an issue for me? Is there a way I can escape this and note that I don't want to use sponsor, I want to sponsor myself and also do Canada accept fixed deposit documents and also for bank statement how many months must the POF remain in my bank account? Please advise me on what to do. Thanks

U can support ur POF if u have other business u are doing which u will say money comes in from

Secondly I used fixed deposit certificate with my salary acct. I submitted both and l got my PPR already.
To be on the safer side, let it stay for 6months maximum.
