Congratulations quote author=hoodboy post=108132885]Landing Gist

So I booked British Airways flight for 30th of November. I had booked it since September, do the booking at MMIA so I paid in Naira at official rate.

Flight was for 11:45pm but I got to the airport around 4pm keeping with the advice given here to always arrive early.

First wahala was at the scanning machine at the entrance, they found my palm oil and said to take it out, that it won’t fly on BA, I didn’t argue I dropped it because I still had two more, which unfortunately ended up being trashed by BA just before departure (BA doesn’t allow frozen palm oil).

Agric people caught me this point and I had to dash them 2k, was hoping to escape it. After then I went weighed my luggage, had to shuffle some items between my carry-on and my checked in luggage before I was able to move ahead.

Showed the airline rep my passport, enrollment letter ArriveCAN, passenger locator form (mandatory for UK passage), vaccination card and COVID test. He confirmed the documents and gave me my boarding pass and yellow card to fill.

From there I moved to immigration, they collected my yellow card here, I was instructed to write my final destination address at the back of the card, Baba asked for tip I told him “nothing Dey” and they let me go.

Boarded the plane to London, the food was alright and we landed heathrow around 4am and that’s when I came online and saw the ban update sad

At 11:45 am we boarded the connecting flight, food was also good. After about 8hrs we were in Toronto. Used the machine to scan my passport and filled some information and a slip was printed out. Walked over to fort immigration check, the asked what food items I brought and I listed them asked if Toronto was my final stop, told him will be going to Saskatoon in January for school proper and I was directed to the place where I’d get my study permit.

Study permit didn’t take long, was only asked for the school I was attending and letter of admission which I submitted, it was checked and I was issued a study permit after which I was directed to public health for quarantine matters based on the new COVID update.

Anyways, I’m isolating now can’t wait for the result to be out so I can carry on with my life.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Testimonytime: 8:45am On Dec 02, 2021
Landing Gist. (Testimony time.)

I apologize for the delay in this gist, Assignments, and tests were already on cue by the time I entered Canada.

So I left Nigeria on 27th November, at the Lufthansa stand, I was told they cannot carry me because my covid result was from NIMR which they claimed was not approved for traveling. Meanwhile, I deliberately called Lufthansa to make inquiries before doing the test and I was given 100 percent assurance.

Fast forward to begging and after a few HOURS of standing, God took control and they checked me in. From then on, God made everything smooth and easy. I submitted my arrivecan and enrollment letter and was given a yellow card to fill. Bag weigh 23.6, and 25kg, hand luggage weigh 9 kg and 6kg but mercy prevails
The flight was good, the food was good and I did not have to eat my “in case” snacks. Had 4 hrs 30 minute Layover in Frankfurt, it was then I saw the message from my school concerning the new variant. The layover was good, I freshened up, changed clothes, and wore my gadget in preparation! Thermal up and down and two pairs of trousers, 1 top, 1 cardigan and finally my jacket. I also changed from my sneakers to my snow booth
Fast forward to Vancouver, I was mildly scared as I did not have any cash at all on me, though, I had a dollar card with the statement printed the previous day in conjunction with my first bank and Stanbic Ibtc card.
The only question they asked me at the first point was if I have recently been to any of the listed African countries ( Then Nigeria was not included ). And I was passed over to immigration. Before entry, I was told to bring out my visa and enrollment letter. When It got to my turn( took less than 10 minutes) she asked what my documents were, I gave her and she instantly printed my study and work permit.

I carried my bag ( all my food and provision survived and left to wait for my connecting flight. While waiting, I brought out my laptop and worked on some of my assignments. I later used my ATM ( first bank) to withdraw 100 Cad( was charged like 39 nairas per dollar. I even used my Stanbic to pay 84 cads for my luggage on my connecting flight.

A Canadian angel gave me a ride from the airport to my Inn, where I also off immediately. I later woke up to bath and cook income.
The second day, (30th) I hit the road immediately after my online class, I got my SSN and applied for my BC identity card, and got booked for an account at Scotia bank for tomorrow ( Thursday)

I give God all the glory and appreciate you guys. I got 100percent of information from here from start to finish.

Hello guys, please I need help with my application.
I have done my biometrics enrollment, and I have biometrics number, date of biometrics enrollment and biometrics expiry date showing on my portal, my upfront medical has been passed as well, but the biometrics section of the portal is still showing we need your fingerprints. Is this normal or is there anything I should do about it? The screenshots below is from my portal. I applied through the new portal.

Please assist with your responses

Hello everyone.

Please I am applying for a study permit for the second time and as part of generating my document checklist, I was asked if I had done a medical check up with an IRCC doctor for the last 12 months and I clicked on yes because in my last application I did an upfront medical.

Now I was asked to submit a proof of medical exam as part of the document that I need to submit in my new application.

My question is, was I suppose to click “no”
When asked that question or should I am to use my initial medical exam or I would need to do a new medical before submitting my application.

Please your response will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Ketima,

I honestly don’t understand what the VO mean when they say sufficiently/availability. In my situation my sponsor paid my one year full tuition, transferred my living expenses to me, booked a return flight ticket for me. I as the applicant had about 1.5m my personal funds and my sponsors statement was about 40million no lump sum. But my visa was refused based on he has concerns on if the funds will be sufficiently available for me throughout my program. What do you think went wrong in my application.

Please I want to know who the sponsor was? Close relative?
How much was sent to you and how long is your program?

It will sur4ly be same. Before I booked Lufthansa, I wanted to find out about them carrying unvaccinated passengers, they told they follow whatever guidelines from the country of destination. So this situation will be same though.

Thanks for your efforts. If you get additional info, we will appreciate it.

I went to KLM/Air France office in Abuja and i was told whatever update is on IRCC website is what they are following meaning they cant airlift students. I couldnt go to Lufhtansa again but i want to believe the information would most likely be the same, i'll try to go tomorrow though.

Hello Chizi a.k.a Mr too many Questions wink

The bolded form is a very important form to fill, in fact, you will have to carefully fill the form to avoid any mistake that can be in form of any misinterpretation which can lead to a ban.. So make sure you fill the form with your full concentration and pay attention to details..

For the biometrics, you are paying together with your application fee, that is if you are a 1st-time applicant though.

If you are a returning applicant, you do not need to pay for Biometrics again for the next 10 years...
