The same world rulers that introduced gold and silver for trade changed it to paper money so it's the same people who introduced direct slavery in ancient times that brought indirect slavery in modern times.
Back in ancient times they will kidnap you and sell you into slavery where you'll work all your life without pay except food, clothing and a place to lay down your sorry head so that by the time you and a female mate together their slaves increases.
But in modern times they allow you to work while all the gains goes to them and their families, and while you're earning something tangible they will demand you pay TAXES as DUES.
