Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by busygirl(f): 5:38pm On May 08, 2007
I'm so sorry. . . .The earlier you break- up the better for you. Unless he's willing to change, you can give him just one more chance . . nothing more
Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by jgirl3: 5:48pm On May 08, 2007
Deglory, Run from him. that love thing is all bull. If he loved you, he wouldn't even dream of beating him. Men like that will not change until something major happens. What if he promises to change, keeps his calm and then starts beating you again when you get married?
You are too precious to be beaten by some guy who "loves" you.

DeGlory:

i am scared of my life oo but i can't stop thinkin about him
God please help me

Its difficult in these situations, to know whether to run or give them a second chance, because all are different . . but what you just said, "i can't stop thinking about him" is what frightenes me, honestly

Becasue if he tries it again after a year, it might be more difficult to leave.

I would say that a guy who slaps his wife after two years into the relationship is better than one who does so after a month, after a month he hasn't in any way "earned" the right to do such an ignorant act (no one earns it, but after a time they might earn the benefit of the doubt wink )

I don't think we should always think "if he loves me", love doesn't make someone more perfect nor less human, no he shouldn't have dared, but no one is above of a mistake . . Some are bad at handling anger, if its constant, then its another story, but if the person is capable of controlling it or seek help then all hope is not lost

In your case though, what bothers me is the fact that he does it for no just cause and NO, thats not acceptable, you're not his punching bag that he can use on any bad day and you'll not accept that wink

Lastly if he does the rest of what you complained of, then the beating isn't all there is to it. I think he has some jealousy- and possessive outburst, which you have to sit and think if you can do with or not . .
its cute to be jealous, but too much of everything is bad so when it gets overboard then he either controls himself or you walk . .

Never you settle for anything less than the best, Cos in the long run you might not be able to overlook it like you're doing in the beginning (the best doesn't mean perfect but someone who'll put effort into treating you like a princess) cheesy

Giving him a second chance is not an option. The reason behind the slap doesn't matter..

If previous girlfriends had not forgiven him, he would not have slapped you. Don't even think about it.
The more you forgive an abuser, the more he becomes emboldened. Do not even dream of forgiving him.

You don't have to insult him or provoke him further. Just cut him off completely. He will learn in a decade or two.

DeGlory, there is no excuse for any two people in a committed relationship to be abusive--physically or otherwise--to each other!

PLEASE get away from this guy!!  J-girl is right--run, don't walk, from this guy!  You do not need him or anybody else who would disrespect you in such a terrible way.  He does not love you!  Nobody does such things to those they love.  He's trying to control and intimidate you with fear.  DO NOT ALLOW IT!

My dear, I am a man, myself.  It appalls and sickens me that other men treat women in such abominable ways!  Trust me, there are good men out there, men who will respect you as you deserve.  Fools such as the one with whom you are involved will never change. A leopard cannot change its spots.

My entreaty to ALL ladies is this:  NEVER, EVER SUBJECT YOURSELVES TO MEN WHO ARE ABUSIVE TO YOU!!!

if u can't leave, maybe you shuld take a class in martial arts, and show him a thing or two or always have an omo orogu( the one for mixin eba), bottom line is that his just an inscured prick
Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by omega25red(m): 6:53pm On May 08, 2007
seems to me like you are going to take him back

The mistake people who are in abusive relationships make is that they start making excuses and they start justifying the abuse.
I mean why would it be hard for you to forget someone you only dated for a month.
Also, is he rich or something which is making you feel like you can take the abuse but spend the money?
and what was so freat about him that made you get involved with him to start with

Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by ima1(f): 7:22pm On May 08, 2007
You need to leave him now, its just a month and he raised his hand on you. get out of it now, if you forgive him now he would think you can tolerate same thing in the future and all he has to do is beg and say he will change, run now if you like urself.
Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by savesoul(m): 7:31pm On May 08, 2007

Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by Rlst84sale(m): 8:31pm On May 08, 2007
Dear DeGlory,

The only second chance you should give him is to run for your life. You can forgive him but you must discontinue the relationship, otherwise the following are inevitable

1) You will constanlty live in fear

2) Your self esteem will definitely reduce

3) He will just be in complete dominance of you

4) Dirtier slap can land on you anytime for the smallest reason.

5) You will have to explain everything to him.

6) He will pretend to have changed until you get the point of no or hard to return, then it might be too late to leave.

Please run for you life now that's the handwriting on the wall an abusive relationship is not what you want for your life.
