So many came back to start business, not everyone have enough brains or will to become an entrepreneur, some are meant to.be workers till they die...most prefer going to America for trips and business, not everyone like being a bloody immigrant or second class citizen grin

On a serious note, we need more Nigerians to travel out, and send back foreign payments, so Nigeria traveling out is a good thing, since our population is huge.

Are you currently a ‘first class’ citizen in Nigeria?…This is a real question, I truly want a sincere answer.

Can you kindly list some of the perks you enjoy today in Nigeria as a ‘first class’ citizen that a Nigerian legal immigrant abroad does not enjoy?

or should we begin to list the perks & dignity of life their ‘second class’ status gives that you as a ‘first class’ citizen in Nigeria is been denied of or can only dream of?

Dangote, Innoson, Adenuga, Rabiu and Otedola are all in Nigeria
Hahahaha, they just come to milk their cash cow called Nigerians. They are always on the move abroad.

If you see Dangote's travel plan eh, you go faint lol.

The men making the money via milking Nigeria will always come to Nigeria to sustain their milk factory but what will tell you where they live is to ask where their children and loved ones live or spend most of their times.

The children and wives of 90% of richest Nigerians live abroad, including your incumbent President's family, don't be deceived dear sis grin

You took the words right out of my mouth.

If you're well to do in Nigeria, i see no reason relocating to the abroad except for vacation.

Abroad is boring with their unstable and extreme weather conditions. If you wanna flex, naija is the best place to be in.

May God bless my hustle real big so I'll only go abroad for vacation and relaxation.
AMEN.

Op, maybe let's ask our former Governors if they preferred when they were Governors or now that they are enjoying chanji in their respective dungeons as bloody commoners stuck in traffic without blazing siren and overzealous trigger happy Police men ready to kill anybody that dare near their convoy shocked shocked

Dangote spends more time abroad than in Nigeria. Same with your politicians. Otedola is always in Monaco or London, same with his family. Tinubu is now a part time Nigerian, he is always going back to London to refuel his engine grin

Don't be deceived, we see these people across a lot.

Most of them that you find here are here to milk the Nigerian masses to sustain their children's luxury life abroad. Check well, all of them have their kids living outside Nigeria. That's the saddest truth, including your current President, all his daughters and even wife your First Lady live outside Nigeria cos of security reasons, no be juju be that grin cheesy
Traveling abroad frequently mostly for business, is different from permanently residing there, the richest Nigerians live in Abuja, Kano or Lagos State.

No siren or police escort for obodo oyibo.

I've been reading comments here and it proves how badly Nigeria had been hit.
I'm a typical example. Studied in UK, voluntarily came home to practice and have been grateful that I'm a patriotic Nigerian.
It's not just about money, but about patriotism.
Unfortunately d society hasn't been rewarding enough.

Most Nigerians that left America and return back to Nigeria most likely can always travel back when they want to. Those who are back but cant go back were mostly deported.

I have lived in the West for over 15 years. I feel more at home here. I felt more like a second class citizen when I lived in Nigeria. I feel safer, much more prosperous with my own specialist company. These countries are value based- you will reap if you can add value.

So let’s drop this second class story. Nigeria had to be one of the most socially oppressive countries on earth

I miss just going to Burger King or Macdonalds for a quick snack not worry about armed robbers or kidnappers. Hopping on a train as an alternative to driving. Starbucks coffee in the morning. Big box DSTV called Time Warner Cable with Fox, MTV , and ABC, desperate housewife sundays and tv shows. Broadband internet in the wall no extra antenna phone line in one package

Laundry you did yourself gas you pumped yourself so no mistakes no water issues no que in a city of 100,000 plus no be two heads

The people make it worth it honestly without them I for done go somewhere and people will say your mad for coming back but at the embassy what you said has to match what you did so in any case I can freely move around the world

Uk gives me 5 years I go for two months every other year and come back you can never see me take advantage of an opportunity to advance my skills. I will retire in Europe or South Africa sha …

So you actually believe that the richest Nigerians are living in Nigeria?

Private jets are creating this illusion. Within two hours, your jet can be airborne to your other countries.

"Hey pilot, I need to be on my way to Nigeria in the next 2 hours". Otedola in his UK residence speaking with his pilot who is also in UK. Two hours later, the jet is taxying on a UK airport runway heading for the Nigerian airspace.

No, they don't live in Nigeria. They have houses in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. They have residency in multiple countries. They only visit Nigeria when they have business in Nigeria.

Nigeria is not where people with unlimited resources live.

I started my company Riomax Empire online store and the ride is amazing, I thank God everyday for giving me the wisdom and courage to take that decision.
The only problem is our mentality here ,we all need reorientation so we can have a better society.
There are too many opportunities here in Nigeria and I can see them clearly. Thanks

What business does Dangote, Otedola or Elumelu do in the diaspora?

Nigeria is where the money is for the rich, the poor or middle class can go & work 9-5 for the Oyibo man.

TheABOMINATION:

Moving from USA to Nigeria would make a person run mad. I have seen a lot of people like that. I don't know why but it the sad reality.

I nearly ran mad when I came back for reasons I don't care to mention here now. It took me two years before I got a job and started getting back on my feet. Now, I am happier here than there.

Now lemme tell you about America.

America is good, depending on your level and state before you got there. If you were jobless, doing POS or selling rat poison in traffic, getting to America will seem like heaven for you and you cant stop thanking God you got there. If you were doing good, living the good life in Nigeria, and then relocated to America, America is only a slight upgrade. There is nothing an American can enjoy there, you wont enjoy here (with your money ofcourse).

If you were using iphone11 and you got bumped to iphone13, will you go thanking God and be freaked that you are now using iphone13? No. But if you were using techno or itel and then got gifted 1phone 13, its a whole new game altogether.

That's how it is-so it depends on your status on Nigeria really and then how you got there- your path to citizenship. If you go as a student on full tuition, you are good. If a spouse or parent won a green card and you go and you don't even have an idea how rent is paid, you are good too. You don't worry about insurance, taxes, etc etc. Someone has already made the sacrifice for you.

But if you go on a visa, overstay and hope to make good? You are on a long thing, and your experience will be one of stress and near bitterness. Your path to citizenship determines everything.

In America, someone must have made the sacrifice for you, for you to come and start enjoying the good life. If you are the one to make the sacrifice? Only your children will enjoy o, not you- you are the pathfinder, the sacrificial lamb- you won't enjoy your life- others would.

Las las..if you are earning good in Nigeria, you have a better life balance- money, family, social network, sense of community etc.

There, its a lonely society out there, so cold it can make you miserable in old age due to loneliness.

My two kobo
