Nowhere in scripture where you told that Abraham's first son was Isaac. Ishmael was Abraham's legitimate first son and was given inheritance as such too.

Also, Hagar was not an illegitimate wife as she was given and bedded as wife of Abraham's

Both sons came from Abraham's loin with Ishmael arriving more than 3 decades before Isaac. So the story itself does not fit in to the context of this here topic.

You're partly right on this because Jewish and Christian scholar will tell you Hagar was Sarah's concubine as was supported and written in the Bible however Muslims argued that she was Abraham's second wife and legitimate but was sent out by Abraham on insistence of Sarah.

That will also bring us to the question of Keturah and if she was the second wife of Abraham as the Bible claimed or Hagar returned (after the death of Sarah)

However both are progenitors of Arabs (Hagar and Ketura)

In the Torah and also Bible scripture, Sarah is recorded to have given Hagar to Abraham for a wife meaning Hagar was Abraham's second wife. Keturah was his third wife. This isn't questioned in the Torah so I don't see why there should be an issue around this anywhere. undecided

Abraham would not have had her as a concubine given that would have been against God's marriage law. Now slave wife maybe since she was Sarah's slave, but not concubine - a sex partner. undecided

A child should know the truth about their history. It is their right to know everything about themselves. Do you know how damaged the child would be when they find out that they were adopted, that their whole life is a joke?

People have the right to know the truth about their lives, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I wouldn't change an adopted child's name, and I would make it very clear that I am their adopted parent.

as soon as they will be old enough, everyone will know and understand that as much as one child may be adopted, he/she is just as legally/morally/physically mine as they are. sadly, in the west there isnt such a big wahala for the 1st born as the way Africans take this like a major issue.

i believe that, if you raise your children rightfully and have a sound will in place, there wouldnt be such an issue as to 1st born bla bla bla.

Well I don't know about what anyone choose to do.

Buh the most important thing is to not allow your biological child to be aware that your adopted child isn't actually their biological siblings.

This will also depends on the kind of person whom your adopted child grew up to become.

If he grew up to become responsible and well mannered, never let this secret out his/her other siblings,but if reverse is the case,then your biological son/daughter should be made aware incase of any danger that might be posed at them in future

Adoption is as old as Man....even the bible recognizes adoption....Moses was adopted and raised by Pharaoh even when he knew he was a Jew. He gave and bestowed upon him all the rights and privileges' repose on legitimate child.
If that could happen then, why not now where civilization is order of the day.
Exodus 2: 1-10 explains more........

Both of them are his first son ,only that one is Not biological and one is . That's the way I see it. One is his biological first son and the other is his non biological first son .let's keep sentiments away.
